Is this actually BALL-jointed doll?
I fill weird about it. But something crazy becomes with it. What Mr.Dollshe smoked when did this one body? His previous doll's bodies?
New head is simple weird. Mr.Dollshe is it really made by you? How sad >_>

 

THIS is an intriguing question.

When compared to say...Volks Isao SD13 ....would you say they are the same type doll outside of the resin they are made of?

 

it is ball jointed, it just has "sleeves" like CP that cover bits of "holes" that show up when the joints are moved.
If you are talking looks... looks are not/do not a bjd make. That is aesthetics.

Sorry but its my pet peeve - people who confuse terms for mechanics with looks.

Also I like the mechanics - I'm never going to see it. He's going to wear clothes. After all my Lati redline boy has a great body but I never see as he wears clothes, so... it doesn't matter.

 

I wonder if that part between the knee and thigh can be removed. It almost looks like the thigh would be the right length if it weren't for the extra piece. He'd still be really thin and freakishly tall, but it would be slight less jarring.

 

I cannot wait until they are released since I do regret selling my Hound and these new bodys look simply amazing.

I have kept an eye on all the pictures posted and I have to say.............I'm 50/50.
when I look at the new boy I am really glad I got my Saint before the old line closed,
but then again........ I am starting to like this guy as well, its just the high insect feel he putts out that makes me a bit hesitant,

but maybe with the more hound like head, with a ebony tan, and a white wig......... he could make for a nice drow elf

so conclusion: they are growing on me fast .......bad for my money plans @_@

That said, I'll still want him as a Saint...I know that. I'll just have to get used to the body is all, though hopefully it will evolve in time, and can be replaced with a more aesthetically pleasing alternative. I do love the flexibility, and proportions, but I have a HUGE fear of alien-esque beings, and certainly never wanted a doll that looked like one. I'm still excited at the possibilities, and so grateful that Dollshe is back in any form.

I wanted a tall guy (especially a saint) to decorate with lots of tats or be able to show off some skin!

From looking at the pictures sanding might affect how the pieces fit together or keep the body upright - the top of the upper ab piece and the bottom of the lower ab piece protrude a little and act like a shelf for the other pieces to sit on .

I doubt Mr. Kim would bring back the old bodies as it had brought him a lot of heartache. But perhaps he can come up with a softer version of the torso etc.

 

Lucky for you that you have Demian who's the PERFECT example of what made Dollshe so great in the first place. I fear whatever Dollshe boy I get in the future will just feel inferior when compared to your beautiful boy.

 

I'm liking it a bit more. Not the body I fell in love with, but I like the poseability. I think its the abs troubling me the most, they're far too pronounced, and I loved the original flat abs so much more. Still I'm excited at the prospect of FINALLY getting a Saint in any form. One thing I will say is I adore the arms, and the elbows, they on the contrary are an excellent improvement. The knees (though far too low) are great too.

I would love to have a Saint too, but... I reeeeaaaaaally hope a little sanding and milliput can help out those features. D: The arms are perfect, but the legs remind me of really large macaroni noodles for some reason. And the torso... don't get me started on that.. ._.

Oh well. I guess I'll just have to wait and see some owner photos before I bite the bullet myself. xD

 

This body is really... harsh. I think a lot of it's problems could be made better with some sandpaper. The ribs, the abs, the shoulder blades are so harsh that they end up looking insectoid. I'm glad that this body has more of a rear end then the last one, but I'm not crazy about the proportions of the hips and the position of the knees.
I would however love to see this body get put through it's paces as far as posing goes, it looks like it might be quite posable!
Here's hoping that there will be a slightly different body that's a bit softer for the other heads.
The body would make a great robot/cyborg/alien though.

i just wish the abs&ribs were toned down just a bit~

I couldn't be happier with the new body. And Origin is bada$$. Oh, Mr.Dollshe - I'm saving my pennies for Bernard again. You have renewed my faith in dollshe.

 

I agree with the above xD I am in love with the otherworldly vibes this new body gives off. I am beyond excited. I pic-spammed one of my friends who I managed to get interested in BJDs and we had fun discussing ideas

 

I would love to have Saint and Rosen...but... ick. SORRY I really am not into that body at all. Maybe if I saw one in person... or in time it will grow on me.... I don't know it is just not attractive to me at all. I will have to wait and see someone do some extreme sanding.

 

Baw! Lovely words hun. But, yes, Demian is still my favourite doll and I am still completely in awe of that face sculpt. At least that is coming back. As for the body, I was never that keen on the skinny Dollshe aesthetic anyway so I held off getting a Bernard in the hopes that he might be beefed up. But, against all expectations, he has made them even skinnier. So, I am caught like everyone else, with a need for a Dollshe but with a fundamental dissatisfaction with the mantis body that will probably drive me to spend a fortune on the secondary market. *sigh*

 

Ahhh...I'm really excited about the new body. I don't really like the torso's design...like the stomach bit...but it could really grow on me. I really want to see this new bod in person!! I don't know...something about it I just adore. **huggles old hound's bod**

WOW! I like the skintones! White and normal are amasing, and ebony is stunning. *__* (In fact, I don't like dark-skinned dolls very much, but here they all look perfect)

 

Aaaarrrggghhhh! An army of aliens come to abduct us! Actually, the skintones are beautiful and Orijean/Origin is a beautiful doll, for a very specific purpose and character.

seeing all the skin tones like that, lined up, i think i can feel how the new dollshe boy is growing on me. i wasn't expecting that but i think now that the abs and shoulders are not too bad. hehe i had a feeling that he would grow on me but i couldn't see how until now. xD
well i won't have money for a while anyway, but it will be interesting to see the new boys when they start arriving *sits back again to await patiently*

 

The darkest skintone is beautiful. On this picture new body doesn't look so strange.

i really like the ebony (darkest) skin tone best, he could be a Drow or a African warrior
with awesome war markings and feathers.

 

I do want one if they release again and if the doll arn't limited.
But, the chest and stomach of new body make me feel something a little bit....off....

 

Still majorly IN LOVE and I'm anxious to see other faceplates. But the head is too small and conversely, the neck is too long and too thick at the top.

The ebony is very nice. The butt is nice. I'm still on the fence because I'm seeing posibilities...Maybe it's time for my Bernard to get his ebony brother Saint? We shall see

 

I'm rather big on the chocolate-colored fellow. I hope he'll be in general release and not just something they do once in a blue moon for a mint of money.

 

I would like to see the other faceplates on. He looks good as Orijean, but I am not so sure about the stylized body with the other softer looking Saint and Bernard. All these skintone options are nice.

 

I love the versatility of the skintones! pale and fresh skin are just beautiful...and to have 3 different dark tones is just so innovative. I'm feeling better about the body day by day, and I know I'll just have to have a troupe of Dollshe boys to make up for all the lost time of not having one. Luckily I'm planning on a Seelie and Unseelie Court theme for my bjd collection, so some of my boys will be allowed to look strange. I think if they came out with a gray skintone Orijean would be amazing!

I finally pinned down what freaks me out about that body, though--it ties into my general squick over things with obvious exoskeletons...like lobsters....

 

he's starting to grow on me, especially the dark ebony, it's very sexy!

 

The skintones are gorgeous. I personally just can't do that body though. I'd cringe everytime I changed his clothes. Exoskeletons is a great description IMHO.

They look amazing I love the stylized body, looks very stable and slim. I can't wait to see him in a suit and with a faceup! Anyone know how much these boy will be running for?

 

I'm dying to see a faceup! I'm actually liking Origen very much, and see him as a goblin type character in the future. As for now I'm holding out for a Saint, my dream boy. I'm sure I'll be able to reconcile the body once I see a Saint head on it.

 

I want to know how secure are the faceplates???? Is it held on by magnets and how strong are they gonna be?? I would hate to get him and the slight movement or turn of his head and off goes the faceplate. As for the body.....hmm......I love his butt that's for sure, but.....hmm.....

 

I have puki and littlefee from fairyland and those faceplates do not just fall off. I know its not the same vendor, but very secure plates are possible.
He is very good at design, look at the mechanics, so I'm sure he made sure the faceplates will be secure and fine.

What about that neck joint? I see it useless, I just can´t figure out how it works ._.

I'm still curious if the new heads would work on the Dollstown body at all, because they share the same resin (all colors except ebony)... I really want to see the other faceplates too...

I think what bothers me the most about the new design is the head/body proportion ratio. I tested it in photoshop, and he's 9.5 heads tall. Standard body canon is between 7 (female) and 8 (male), so he's definitely a bit pin-headed.

I do love the engineering of it, and would love to see how it poses, but I think it would be possible to use the same engineering breakthroughs on a less stylized looking body. It seems like if enough people told Dollshe we want a more "human" body, maybe they'll make one later on?

 

Well ok... I don't like them. It is actually good for my poor tortured wallet but anyway... they could look really life-like if covered with a silicon skin but in that way... they looks like a wire armor that need to be covered or they looks as alien dolls just escaped from the Area 51... XD
It is just my personal idea anyway, no offense but I liked the old "not-really-posable" Dollshe men... it looks like they got too many joints to compensate the lack of them in the older version ^^'

I don't hate the body or face, but I am not keen either. I am glad to have Zach. Hound is one of my favourite dolls of all.

 

It's a shame we can't get any critical feedback to dollshe so he knows where improvements could be made.

That new alien looking head gives me the creeps :c
I don't like the bodies at all, the muscle area looks terrible because it's too sharp and defined. The body would look a lot better if everything was smoothed out and made to look more natural.

 

The muscles, especially on the back look awkward, I hate it XD That's too bad, the faces are kind of cool. I wonder why the sculptor decided to make the muscles look so ridiculous.

 

I don't like the new body =_______=u. I want the old body version. I hope that they sell it again T_T.

I'm so dissapointed.

They're all ugly, faceplates this size aren't a good idea IMHO, and although releasing them in different skintones is fantastic i have to say that the body is hideous. It looks bad and like an action man.

Looks like i'll never get my sa saint.

Well I love the fact you can get all sorts of coloured resins- that is fantastic! I am not overly keen on the Origin face- but I had known that since way back when the first previews where shown. The body is okay, even more stylised than I realised from the pictures the other day...

I'm no sure exactly what I think. My first response was that I hated it. Full stop. Butl well; it's Dollshe...I didn't like the old company pics of the Saint when he came out and yet I own one and know how gorgeous he is and can look so much better than I ever imagined...

I'm sitting on the fence with this one. If I had unlimited money I'd buy it just for the sake of it and see how it turns out; but I don't have unlimited funds (unfortunately) so me thinks my purse is firmly shut for now.

 

Ah if that's the case I don't like them that much. I know how much I would spend and those prices are about $150-200 over what I'd call 'tempting'.

 

Eeeek $750!! Well hopefully they'll still be available by the time I can actually afford one. Maybe there will be a good layaway plan or something. In the meantime I'm gonna try my hand at sewing to see if I'll have something to sell...and he'll need clothes.
