The body sculpt looks tall and lanky--just like the current dollshe bodies.

I'm really crazy about the feet and the hand sculpt! The faceplate looks very good--I think it's really wonderful update on the body sculpt

Phew! The body looks basically the same.*sighs in relief*

The feet are a little strange, but I'm sure the finished product will look alright.

I'm kind of in love with the hands...they look even MORE realistic.

I feel a little better now. The face-plate looks ok, it'll have the whole Narindoll thing going on, I think I can get used to that.

 

I'm with you on that count! I have had nothing but trouble with my Narindolls who have faceplates. The magnets don't hold the face on worth squat, so I have to tape their faces to the back of their heads. It kind of sucks.

Not everybody has had that problem, but it sure has bugged me.

 

FlamelessNight: OH YES! Thank you so much for providing pictures!!! ^___^ Yes, I'm also in relief that the body is similar. I hope it's more posable too. I like the feet but I'm not to fond of the hand which reminds me of Buddydoll's former hands... A bit too feminine for my taste I really like the old (?) body's hand with the vein on it...hopefully they'll sell those hands as optional parts *prays*

 

Hopefully, though, the resin for the new body would match the resin that they used for the old bodies and heads.

As for the interchangeable face plates, I think it's good--but I'm not all over it. But then again I might change my mind if the new face sculpt that would go along with the new body would be smashing.

And if this new body promises better poseability, I might just get myself one~

Apparently, the new face is named Rosen, according to a kind member of Houndcalling who reads Korean.


...I don't care for the new face. It seems so much more stylized and stereotypically BJD-looking than the others, if you know what I mean. But I guess I should be relieved, for the sake of my bank account! Also, I'm sure he'll look much nicer once he's cast and photographed properly.

Is that the one (right next to the Hound face plate) the new face? O_O The angle doesn't show the features very well--but so far from what I can tell, it looks a bit "alienish."

I see the Hound, Saint and Bernard face plates. Those three are more realistic-looking.

 

Yes, that's the new face! And that was my exact thought when I saw him--that he looks like an alien. I think he'll look much more human when he's not a grey color, however. Ha ha!

Ohh, are you sure that , that one is a new sculpt?? Doesn't he look like the closed-eye saint, that was recently released in Tensiya?

Heh, that new guy does look alien, whatever colour he is. And I'm glad I got my order in to get the old hands.

If they're compatible with the old bodies I still might consider switching to the faceplates in the future, it would be nice to be able to switch Gamrut between more and less draconic.

 

The body looks nice, but again, I do NOT like face-plates. I just see one falling off beacause of the magnets and either hitting the floor and breaking, or just ruining the face-up ><; My thee Luts boy dolls have held their magnets in just fine, but I can't say the same for my Senior Girl, Volks or Migidoll dolls, as their heads are forever falling off so I have to tape them down with masking tape. I'd hate to have to tape a whole face on! =/

Still gonna keep an eye out for a Bernard head before this new face-plate thing comes up then.

 

That Rosen head does absolutely nothing for me. But it's mice to see some more familiar faces in that pile of faceplates

 

Face-plate or not, I'm happy Saint will still be sold in the future. I'm getting used to the face-plate thing now that I have my limho mono. I see the advantages, so I'm not that put off by the news the new Dollshe dolls will have face-plates.

Rosen looks a bit wolfish. I'm sure some people will turn him into a really stunning guy.
Thanks FlamelessNight for posting the body pictures. I was a bit worried when I heard about the discontinuation, but these new pictures make me feel better. I'm looking forward to see the finished body.
I heard something about a resin change, but I'm not certain if that relates to the new Dollshe dolls. *is still a bit confused here*

 

I am undecided about that new head... I want to see it when its done and set up. the eyes are really narrow but they could really work for some people.

One thing I like about dollshe is that they kind of have something for most peoples taste, I guess the new head is just another taste for a new customer ^_^

 

I rather like Rosen, he looks a bit elfin to me.

I'd definitely buy the face-plate just to see what I could do with him (maybe give him pointy ears, lol).

I'm so relieved about Saint being there, as he's all I've ever wanted really. I have no experience with face-plates (though I almost bought a Narae) so I don't know the advantages or disadvantages...but I hate the thought of the face falling off.

I'm gonna cross my fingers and just trust Mr. Dollshe on this one.

 

Hmmm....the new boy...looks very elfish to me. Not sure if I like him, but I think he would look awesome with pointy ears. At least Hound, Saint and Bernard are still the same, I think. Or, at least, they look like they're the same size as they were when they were regular heads.

EDIT: Hehe... Isildae, looks like we have the same idea. How funny that we both posted it at the same exact time, too! ^^;

I'm not too interested in the Saint or Bernard mold, so I can't really tell the differences, but it seems that Hound got modified. The subtle smile that fell between smirking and smiling now looks like a smirk and the eyes..did they ever have bottom lids? And the sharp nose looks less pronounced too, looking more like a mix of bermann + hound... Well these heads are still WIP and it's only one picture and one angle, so what I'm seeing now may not be what I'll see in the end...Who knows, maybe I'll like this new Hound once he gets a faceup and body? I guess I'll just continue to watch and wait. :3

 

That was also my impression - he looks kind of like a Nanuri. He's nice and all but I'm not sure if that's my preference for a Dollshe guy.

 

Dunno I see more 'Final Fantasy' in his features. He looks very anime to me. I could see him pulling off a Sephy look :P

 

Hm. Rosen does look a bit alienish to me (I think it's the eyes) and the Hound DOES look a bit different. I know they can't make a PERFECT replica of their old sculpt but it does seem like they upgraded him a bit XD

 

he looks like my brothers FFXI elvaan character ^^; he does have an elvish tone to him.

 

Good, I'm not the only one to notice that...I looked at the Hound head and instantly thought it looked more like Bermann than the original Hound, especially the nose.

I think I quite like Rosen...but I'll wait for finished pics to decide. I have a fondness for pointy-faced boys....

 

Good observation! I got a corrected translation of the info on these
faceplates and "Rosen" is the head to the left, based on the Hound sculpt.
He does have a bit of a smile explained by the sculptor as having "the smile of
the roses".

"Origin" will be the name of the new sculpt "who has the stubborn
facial expression to show the pride of the hand crafted doll's sculptor".

More info translated to me was:
"...and Saint and Bernard, which I had adjusted some volume, eyes, nose,
lips to pull it up to perfection. More photos and details will be shown after
they're finished."

So a little tweaks will be made to these sculpts. Should be interesting - I
know I'm looking forward to seeing the final versions.

 

So you mean the &#8593;&#8593; Hound-looking face next to the "alienish" looking face is called "Rosen"??? Ohohoho... this is making me giddy.

And the "alienish" looking one is the one called "Origin" right??

In agreement with Christy and Aquarius85, when I first saw the sculpt on the left, I thought "hmm. . .reminds me of Bermann." I hope he keeps it this way. He almost looks like a happy Bermann.

I'm glad that there still will be Bernards...I panicked on this whole change!
But I must say that the faceplates for me aren't all that appealing although it would allow me easy exchange with heads...or rather face changing haha. I quite like Rosen...he seems to be a mix of hound and bermann and I love them both so yay! its like a two for one package!

 

Oh yay! Thanks so much Christy for translating! I like that Rosen looks like a Bermann too, then I might just fulfill my dream of having atleast a "Bermann"-esque type Dollshe.

I'm still iffy about the face-plates though, I hope it doesn't make that much of a difference.

I've been meaning to ask this before, but thought patience would be best. Now I'm just too curious: Does anyone have an idea when dollshe will start the sale of the new dolls/body?
I've searched a lot, so it may be possible nobody knows yet.

 

With all this Bermann troubles and Dollshe-doll mania and Dollstown re-stock I don't think Mr. Kim will open his story earlier than June. Too much work to do. But that's just my opinion.

 

I agree. I heard that Iplehouse and Luts get their Dollshe boys and girls manufactored by Dollshe directly, so once the manufactoring for these boys and girls stop, then Dollshe doll will probably open up their shop. As of now, there are still dolls left at Luts so it might be awhile until the new and old Dollshe boys and girls? get release.

 

Have there been any more recent shots of the bodies and/or faceplates? I'm lusting after a Bernard and decided to wait for the new release, seeing as the early faceplate shot looked near enough to the original Bernard not to cause concern. However, I am impatient and want to see what this new bod finally looks like. It is difficult to see from that early up-an-under shot. Also, has anyone heard whether they will be the same height as the originals? The neck looks a little shorter (although that might be foreshortening from that strnage angle).

(madammaumau I'm so in love with your Saint , I've had a look in most of his pics ^^, definitely one of my favorites, I really hope this version of Saint, the normal one, will be available again, I so need to have one once I bounce back financially )

 

Thanks darlin'! A very sweet thing to say. Actually, the new version Saint looks very like the old. They might even have improved his profile (at the moment, the cheeks sweep away from that beaky nose a little too sharply, giving a very strange look to the profile. The new one looks like that area might be rather better developed). So, maybe this will be an opportunity to get a new, improved Saint and Bernard. Here's hoping...

 

Really??? Can't wait to see their final look! I was never bothered by the sharp dollshe noses but I won't mind an improved version either as long as his face expression remains the same!
Actually, in that picture of Hound calling I thought that was an SA Saint, but since I never got to see one in person for real I can't tell the difference easily, SA saint and normal saint versions look so much alike...So, yes, here's hoping...

 

looking back at this picture the only thing that worries me about the faceplates is how thin the rim around the neck is D: Do you guys think it will stay that way or will they make it more durable?

 

the heads at the neck look dangerously thin I agree, but I love the idea of face plates as all my dolls have had them so far, and I personally find it easier to handle. However Dollshes are pretty heavy stuff, and I can understand why some people worry about them easily coming off. Its great theyre being revamped and being made still, as I have really grown to like Dollshes.

I'm really hoping Hound will be re-released and not just replaced by Rosen. Rosen is really very nice looking (I'd love to see him in tan!)...but the character I plan to get a Hound for has a very pointy nose, so I really need Hound as we know him. >__< I'm seriously interested in a new body, though, so long as it keeps the thin, lanky look that I love about Dollshe boy bodies (which it seems to be doing) and fixes the various small annoyances. XD

 

I hope all the new heads are about the size of the old Hound and Bermann. I was put off a little from buying Saint and Bernard because their heads were smaller, making the Dollshe neck to look even longer. I can't really tell about the size from the photos; maybe there will be new ones soon.

 

Oh, thank god! I seriously believed Dollshe had stopped making dolls for good, and was in the middle of a grieving process over Bernard when I saw this thread! I'm so happy they will continue making them, and though they are slightly modified, at least Bernard looks pretty much the same! Oh, I'm so happy! *dancing around the computer*

 

I'd like to see a photo of the back of the body... I was never keen on the shoulder blades T^T
