MYou 45cm - part II

It's lovely when your dolls make their own decisions isn't it? My Delia was supposed to be blonde but when I tried a dark wig on her for fun and she claimed it as hers instead and absolutely refuses to wear the blond one anymore

 

I've found Minifee clothes to be 50/50; all of my stretch pants and skirts fit Lingwei pretty well, all considering. I'm working on making some shoes that fit her, and if I get a working pattern, I'll post it.

Not that I need another doll till the two I'm working on are done, buuuuttt.....I'm playing around with ordering Teresa. I'm just debating tan or coffee. I have a Gina in coffee; does anyone have both tones that they could post a comparison? I know they have the company comparison pictures, but I feel like customer pictures give a more accurate impresson.

 

Soooo, I ordered a myou girl, type 2 body new ver with a small bust. Myou sent a large bust. She struggles to fit her curves into my JID girl clothing. I'm now on a hunt to find clothing that I can buy 'off the rack' that'll fit this lil lady.
That being said, I'll be reading through this thread and it's previous. But if anyone wants pictures of Dietrich in coffee skin, mine arrived!

Myou Doll big bust is no joke, I just decided to embrace it with my Zuzana. She gets outfit emphasizing it

Not the one who asked but I'd love to see her face-up and how it looks like on the darker skintone. The super pale Dietrich looks beautiful in the promo pictures so I'm curious how she looks like when not-so-deadly-pale I bet gorgeous since the coffee tone is lovely but I want to see if she gives less vampire vibes like that.

 

@Hellsing365 What digi said, and maybe also one or two different wigs, if possible. I kinda need to be able to picture her with my current crew before I seriously consider getting her.

her head is rather tiny. She does fit my JID girls custom made wigs but the 7/8's from the store slide right off. She also came with a gift wig and it's just..no. Coffee skin with basically coffee toned hair just showed the green under tones in her wig. @EagleVision1999, if you have any colors you want to see let me know. I make wigs, so have a literal ton of colors and styles that I can at least photograph next to her, if not on her.

Straight out of the box she can hardly stand. her arms pose great but she needs sueded. the neck S hook is TIGHT so I don't think tighter strings is the answer, perhaps thicker ones. The faceup has a... glitter explosion? Under her right eye (you may see it in photos) it almost looks like a unicorn tear LOL. Also appears the gloss went above her lip a little. Myou didn't customize the faceup at all (I asked for solid darker red lips) as a note.

Be kind to her wig, it was my first time doing lace parts/fronts and it shows. bahaha.Lighting conditions aren't great (smoke + clouds = weird combo).

Thank you I'm not so sure about colors, I am more worried about style. I would like to see her in a wig with bangs. Also, which size eyes do you use?

I agree with your opinions about the ver. 2 new body. It looks pretty and the range of montion is good but it does need sueding. That body also doesn't sit that well. I very much prefer the ver. 1 body when it comes to posing.

 

She's wearing the eyes she came with in the pics, so 14mm. I might try her in a smaller/custom sized 14 instead of the 14/7 I think those are. I think 12 might be a bit too small...She's got HIGH domes in her right now and they actually fit into the socket really well.

I have some wigs with bangs! I'll try and get you pics tonight or tomorrow.

ETA pictures! Smaller 6/7 is good IMO. 7 is perfect.

She's TOTALLY staying in this wig, LOL. Handmade on a KDF head I believe (so 17.5cm instead of her 18cm) fits perfect, stays on perfect. This is on the large end of 6/7 and the closest to 7 without being a 7/8 that I have.

This was my JID wig, 18cm doll head (and what Myou claims this head is) and a proper 7/8 size but on the smaller side. It's loose.. and a lot of hair so it's heavy and doesn't sit right.

Following two were bought for a 18.5cm head (same size as my mnf shiwoo, and angel studio msd). They fit pretty well. They do slide around and are easy to knock out of style if she fell or had a gust of wind, but they're lighter so sit better

My conclusion is try and aim for a size 7 wig. 6/7's can be too small, and 7/8's can be rather large. If you have to pick, 7/8's would probably be the way I lean with a rubber band or sticky tack to aid in keeping the wig in place.

Myou is teasing in their announcement that they'll release new doll this month Am I the only one wishing for a boy? Nothing wrong with girls though, I have Delia(x2) and Zuzana and love 'em, I'm just hoping for something little bit different I guess.

(Or I'd be just as excited if they added new 1/6sp sized dolls too, I've really grown to love Alan and Rod so I wouldn't mind more options in the size either )

 

@Hellsing365 I actually came here to see if there were any Dietrich photos and I hit the jackpot, she’s beautiful. You wouldn’t happen to have a Resinsoul in light/dark tan, would you? I wanted to see how it compared to Myou’s coffee.

 

There is definitively a difference between the two shades, though it's not a super bad one depending on your level of tolerance for these things.

Resinsoul light tan is a little darker, and a little less warm than myou's coffee, although it is less visible in photo than irl

I don't have a resinsoul light/dark tan. But her coffee skin is VERY light. From a distance enxt to newer dolls she's just a more rich 'normal skin' color. Essentially she's more like a Caucasian has a healthy tan color. It's weird to say but there's a lot more 'green' under tones in her brown that subdue the hue. Unlike the 'orange' under tones that typical 'ns' dolls have. If that makes sense...
I do restringing so if I ever get a client who sends me a brown doll I'll try and photograph them together

I just recently stumbled upon Myou’s new body II and so now I’m trying to find a head. I really like Teresa, Dietrich, and Daisy, though I also feel like they have a more youthful look than I generally prefer, so I’m exploring other options.

Edit: Does anyone know if Alice’s Collection does resin comparison pictures? I found a head from another company that they distribute for that could work perfectly if the resin is close enough.

Edit2: I’ve decided on Teresa, I love her company face-up, and I think if I get the large bust and dress her for a young adult age she won’t look so young. I’ve also found two more dolls from other companies that would be good companions for her and also they’ll be a witch coven together. Wasn’t the plan before, but it is now!

She is so lovely @EagleVision1999 - I havn't seen any owner pics of Macarena yet without the full set look, so it's nice to see a different take on her.

 

Oh yes, it’s wonderful to see a different take on Macarena! She’s lovely. I still haven’t been able to take mine out of her fullset yet. She’s just so gorgeous in it, it’s difficult to even think of changing her…especially with the holidays coming up so soon. Perhaps afterwards…

Hey all, my BoHe (in coffee skin with faceup) is finally here, so if anyone wants some pictures I can take some since it was hard to find pictures of that sculpt/faceup at all let alone in coffee.

I remembered reading some discussion here about what shoes fit MYou girls though so I took some pictures of my girl (Ver I body) wearing all the shoes I own: imgur gallery link with comments. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone!

tl;dr: The best-fitting shoes are the ones that also best fit my Aimerai girl (who has Minifee-sized feet), although the MYou foot is still lightly bigger. But, shoes that are more standard' 1/4 size don't look as clownish on her as they do on the Aimerai body, so there's some leeway there.

 

I bet she's lovely in coffee skin, I'd love to see pictures!

Speaking of shoes, I just bought some shoes from cottontaildolldesign on etsy. They're for Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls. They fit fairly well with socks or stockings, though without socks you can tell they're a bit too big.

Coffee skin BoHe - now with proper small-iris eyes



She's got the #5 hands on as well, for what it's worth. It's funny, the default hands have the hand+ball as a single part, but the option hands have the hand and ball as separate pieces. I had wanted to have one of each but now I'm not sure if that would look weird.

 

Myou released a new girl, Chelses. Her outfit and styling is gorgeous and I like her expression, but overall, she's not for me. I'm looking forward to seeing owner pictures in few months though, I feel like she's one of those dolls whose default face-up makes me feel "meh" but I'll fall in love once I see her painted by someone else.

I also kind of would like to see her styled as a boy? I think she'd make a very cute a boy.

 

Omg, the new girl is so pretty! I like her eye shape especially. Don't necessarily love the default faceup, but usually you can get blank pictures from them. I had a bit of trouble with Zuzana at first because the default faceup obscured her actually sculpted lip shape and so mine looked different than I qas expecting. Love her now, but still I'm careful with judging from the fullset pictures.

 

The new girl is fantastic! But why does Myou not sell their eyes aswell? I feel like any other eyes, wouldn't do her justice.. Her smile is too adorable.

Different question, is it true, they need like a month to ship out an order?? I just checked the waiting room and it's insane! With the current event it would be a shame not to order...

@Diaspro But did you ask them if you can get the eyes from them? Or at least where they got them from? I have gotten pieces from other fullsets of theirs before because I asked. They just don't advertise this for some reason.

I had one order take three months and one order just around one. It seems to vary from time to time.

 

My Dietrich took about 5 months to come to me... She arrived last week after I ordered her in early July. (Sadly, I don't think she is for me!) She was a full set, but I don't think that has an impact since I've ordered other full set dolls from them, and the fastest I received one is about 3 months. I ordered Dietrich through Alice Collection, and my other orders were placed through New Clover Singing. I don't think the dealer here makes much of a difference, in time, though!

I don't think you'd go wrong on deciding which doll to get - it's really hard to decide. xD

 

@EagleVision1999 No, I didn't ask, I checked their website and couldn't find any sales for eyes. Communication is the key, thanks for the tip

So their wait times seem to vary, and here I thought I could get a doll within 2 months
In the end I chose Teresa (fullset)! I cannot wait to get her~ Sewing ideas keep flowing!

My full set Teresa arrived yesterday and she is hauntingly beautiful
I changed her hair into black and I think it suits her perfectly. I really can't stop looking at her - feeling so happy!

 

My Dietrich in WS came today. She was a promo for full-set but without face-up. She's so beautiful! But I honestly don't like her fullest clothes or wig. They look very ill fitting on her

Thankfully my order of MSD goodies arrived as well today and I put her in some clothes from there. I will not just need to find her a wig or try to make one myself

I took some photos of Samara (myou Teresa) today but the photoshoot didn't go too well because it was so cold! Anyway you can see her original wig here. I really wish I could style it the same way it is in the promo photos but I like it like this too!

 

hello!
after letting go my last msd girl, i thought the size was not for me. i only have lati yellow and this is the size i love most.
but i really want to try again with the size, and ive fallen in love with myou!! its a hard decision between doudou, delia and this new girl chelses.
does anyone want to share some doudou or delia? can they fit minifee clothes on body version 2 new? if not, what size to look on etsy?

I don't have Delia in the new body (yet), but I DO have her in the old Ver 2. I believe the measurements between the two are the same, just the jointing system is different. Unfortunately I don't think the new v2 can fit minifee, as they're much too slim. Myou's bodies v1 and v2 fit better on volks/standard MSD clothes, though skirts/pants may have a tough time getting on the v2 due to the 21 cm hips. Other than that, MSD clothes should fit okay. The small bust also makes fitting a lot easier (it's what I went with for my own two girls, haha)

To second what Dreamverie said, the ver2 old will fit MSD clothes, but mainly the tops and stretchy fabric bottoms/skirts. I would personally recommend against the old ver2 because of the limited posability (single-jointed), but if you don't play with your dolls, then I find it a very nicely shaped body.
Do note that the newer heads appear to sit on top of the curve on the neck, I think they have a slightly too small neckhole to sit comfortably on top of the old ver.2 - although this could be normal, as I only have 1 BJD at the moment I can't tell

I have trouble getting my Michelle's new v2 body into some regular MSD clothes. This body is large. I find the legs too chunky, and can only use the larger stockings on her.

 

Hmmm.. this makes me question it now.
My last msd was a small artist doll with extremely chunky legs and hips. I got rid of her partially because clothes options were extremely limited and hard to find. Planning outfits is my favorite part of the hobby. I don’t want to struggle with it again. is body version 1 more compatible?

 

The ver.1 body is slimmer, yes. It's also better at posing, I would definitely recommend it. That being said, I never had trouble dressing the ver. 2 body either, it really depends what kind of clothing you're going for.

 

Personally I dont have issues with MNF skirts and leggings, though they are a bit tight. But yeah, I have the single jointed body ver2 and it's very bulky.
I have another Myou on preorder, but with a different body, so I may swap between them, as body 1 and 3 are much slimmer and fit more of the MNF sizes.
I do believe that volk bottoms work for the body 2 versions, as they are slightly wider (Someone else pointed this out, but I can't remember where)

 

Has anyone else found that MYou's default wigs are too small? When I received my Ling Wei back in August, her wig was so small that it slipped off constantly. It was almost impossible to get on in the first place. I bought a Leekeworld LR-152_M wig, which is 7-8 inches, and it fits perfectly. It isn't a huge deal, but I wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problem.

 

On my Dietrich it fit, but I dont like the severe lack of styling of the wig. However, I did find for the wigs that are slightly too small to use a little bit of painterstape roled up so it's double-sided to be amazing to keep them frm slipping!

 

I recall my Michelle's default wig to be on the small side as well, so you're not alone there. Myou doesn't seem to have the best track record of having better-fit wigs, and like Ysebeth said, the wig styling can be... hit or miss. Most advice that I've seen when it comes to Myou is to just buy wigs elsewhere, save yourself the trouble assuming you don't mind the risk

 

Or like I did, my favourite wig is one I made myself, even if it looks crappy, I haven't found a similar coloured wig yet elsewhere
Also, buying wigs makes me nervous because they always give a range instead of actual measurents, so if it's 6-7 or 7-8 how can you be sure you're getting one that fits? (my thinking)

 

It might have been discussed already, but I don't seem to find an answer... I'm interested in the comparison between ver. 2 new and ver.3 girl bodies, would anyone be willing to take a picture of theirs side by side? Also, ver. 3 owners - how do you find the posability? Thanks a lot in advance

 

For anyone who owns the v1 body, have you ever tried Myou's heeled feet on them? And does it fit or not fit as Alice's Collections said on their store page? Recently I've fallen in love with high heeled shoes that I wanna buy for my v1 bodied girl Faline, but I don't want to risk buying high-heeled feet that isn't compatible;;

 

Out of curiosity, does anyone here know that Myou do sell separated bust piece or not?

My friend have a Myou 45Cm girl with S bust but she prefer the L bust. Buying a whole new body would be too much though... ?

 

I honestly think you'd need to contact Myou themselves directly for that, I never saw any busts sold seperately on Dolk BJD, Denver Doll or Alice Collections.

 

I ordered heel feet with my v1 body (through Alice's), and I just specified in the note that the feet should be for the v1 body. They fit perfectly fine, no problems with them.

 

I find the ver3 body has good posability, but is kinda kicky. My girl can't be trusted to stand at all, even with a stand. I suspect that's more an elastic problem than an engineering one though

More than a longer one, I'd use a thicker one. It's a tip that's often shared on the resinsoul thread since those dolls are often kicky, but a thicker elastic can help with that. It had helped some other dolls I have (a mature tiny myou doll and a doll leaves), so it should be worth a try.
I just need to check if I still have elastic the right size.

 

I sold my girl on the v3 body last year & from what I remember, posing was okay-ish. She really could not sit up on her own at all, so if I’d wanted to keep her, I would have tried a full restringing with some hot glue sueding. I’m not sure if that’s a general problem with those or if mine was just difficult. Otherwise posing was fine. Overall I liked that body more than the version 2 new I had recently, though. I like the aesthetics of the v2 more, but most of my minis are on the slim side & the v2 just didn’t fit in, so I swapped it out for a Doll Leaves body (MNF hybrid). Version 3 is still a bit bigger than slim minis, but it shares clothes more easily.

I didn’t play around with it much due some life stuff that was going on then, but anything I did try with it worked well! The body was very solid & on the heavier side, sat nicely, and held poses well if I recall correctly. My issue was only the size- proportions looked off both as a hybrid & with my other dolls, who are all a bit shorter/slimmer.

 

I have the version 3 girl body. I too find posing not that great but not too bad either. I don't take photos of the doll standing free anymore, she trips over easily. I haven't tried restringing her, so I don't know if it helps or not withe the kickiness.

Another thing is that the proportions are frankly a bit strange when naked. The torso is very thin and long. However when fully dressed, the doll kinda looks like those fashion drawings with exaggerated lengths which I find pretty cool.
