I'm at work, and the radio is (unfortunately) playing "Honey, I'm Good" by Andy Grammer. I'm so over almost anything I hear at work; they repeat songs far too much. The last song I listened to of my own choice was Pete Yorn's new song "Summer Was a Day."
Mountain Sound by Of Monsters and Men. One of my favorites! I went and saw them in concert a couple weeks ago.
Thought I'd return to this thread since it had been a while. Great songs, folks! Please keep sharing 'em. Most recent song I listened to: "How Come You're Not Here?" by P!nk (2012)
This. On repeat with two other songs from this soundtrack. Video game music has come a long way since *beep boop beep*...
I've been listening to this like crazy lately. The music video for it is downright hypnotic, and in the style of 1930's cartoons, but has some imagery not for the faint of heart (linked the music-only version here, lol).
The last song I litsened to was Misty Mountains by Rivendell. And I think I'm going to have to check out some of the songs mentioned here.
Meatloaf - Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through Best song EVER. Listened to it three times in a row driving home from work. lol
Nellie the Elephant - Mandy Miller Pure nostalgia for the first single I ever owned. The B-side song, It's Time To Dream, is still my favourite lullaby. Teddy
The most recent song of my own choice was The Wheel by PJ Harvey. New music from PJ Harvey can only be a good thing!
My current favorite song is "Favorite record" by Fall Out Boys And does anyone here listen to Lucy Rose? Her voice is amazing
I made the sad mistake of watching the Grease Live special the other night. Now I've got "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" and "Look At Me I'm Sandra Dee" stuck in my head. Backstory I did a lot of musical theater in my wicked youth. I've played Rizzo twice and Sandy once, so Grease is one of those musicals that I have practically ingrained in my head anyway. I'm like that with South Pacific and The Sound of Music too because I've been in those play several times and done Nellie and Maria too. I can't hear "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out Of My Hair" or "My Favorite Things" and not get those songs totally stuck in my head. I don't mind "Sandra Dee" so much but the "Worse Things" song is a hard one to have stuck in there. It's a good song, for Rizzo, but it's kind of depressing too, particularly when you find yourself unconsciously humming it all day long...
Wicked Girls - Seanan McGuire, Vixy Dockrey, Tony Fabris, and Amy McNally: And several other Seanan songs queued up and ready to listen to to prevent my going mad from boredom at work today. Teddy
Empire Ants by Gorillaz. The first half of the song is boring but then 2 minutes in it becomes like the greatest song ever.
Wolves by Old Gray. A fantastic song, but if you're not okay with what sounds like uh... a pack of wolves, the acoustic version is very pretty. It was either that or Dernière Danse by Indila.
I had a yearning to listen to a childhood favourite from my Dad's record collection: I hadn't realized "I Didn't Know the Gun was Loaded" had been covered by so many people/groups, it took quite a lot of searching to track down the right one (it would have helped, of course, if I'd remembered any details other than the song title and lyrics when I was put in mind of it by some Cyndi Lauper recordings yesterday and began my search.... Teddy
Teenage Wildlife - David Bowie, one of those songs that by rights shouldn't be catchy, but somehow really is. " I feel like a group of one... "
