Migidoll General Discussion, Pt. 4

Managed to put two sets of Miho and Cho heads on layaway before the sale ended. It's been a couple of years since I've looked into their resin matches, can anyone point me towards any recent/current matching info? Any help is appreciated.

 

It is hard to find info for the current Migidoll resin, but I have been scouring for months and found that:
Mirodoll: NS should be about a 85% match, a bit lighter and pinker
Doll Family H- Apparently NS-Y is a perfect match: /threads/migidoll-ryu-hybrid-box-opening-photshoot.730821/#post-12078852

I don't have any of these bodies myself, and have been unable to get a confirmation on the Mirodoll resin. But they should be close at least.
Edit: Got a ref, Mirodoll normal does not match at all. You MIGHT have luck with their yellow.

 

I haven't seen many tan Migidolls lately even though they're offering tan skin as a standard now. After being away from the hobby for so long I am re-considering my focus. My current boy has been sitting in his box forever without any playtime. I've been thinking SDs are just too big for me. The only SD doll that I'd be interested in keeping is a tan Jina, but I have not seen any!

The character he embodies is very, very specific so I'm trying to see what the current tan looks like on the Jina sculpt before putting my boy up for sale to purchase his tan version. Do any of you have any tan Migi's anywhere that you'd be willing to share pics of? I'm also really curious is anyone has played with that new Migidoll body too. I definitely wouldn't want to go the hybrid route if I took the plunge for this purchase.

 

I can only be a little bit helpful on this, as the poor guy has been around for almost 2 years and is still only a floating head But here's a picture of my 2015 tan Jina with Darjeeling Aesthetics faceup (image credit to Kai/Darjeeling Aesthetics):

 

That is actually super helpful. Thank you so much for sharing that with me. It's so hard to come back to the hobby and realize you need to basically reconsider all your dolls, lol. I definitely need a tan Jina in my life, if I keep his character as a Jina sculpt. I guess my NS boy will have to go. Once again, thanks so much. You've saved me a lot of time and money!

 

I'm glad it was helpful! I love the Jina sculpt in tan, I just wish I wasn't so picky about the body he goes on because the 65cm Migi body is just too tall and finding a matching tan was a nightmare for the longest time. I look forward to seeing yours if you end up getting one!

I will have reached the 10 week mark on Wednesday of waiting according to my email I got from Migi when I finished my layaway on my Limited Edition Ethan full doll NS with default makeup. They said 8-10 weeks till he shipped out. Can you tell I have been counting the days? Haha. I think I have been extra excited because he is my first SD and I just ordered him an SD friend. But he really will be my Christmas present since hopefully he will show up just in time for Christmas. I know someone else on DoA ordered the head. If you are around, care to spam pics of the head to help me pass the time?

 

Is anyone else waiting on the vampire heads still? I orders one with a face up and one blank, that was in September.

 

I just got my shipping notice for my limited edition Ethan from June, so I'm not sure what their shipping/production schedule is looking like. Of course mine was a full doll with default faceup, but yeah...felt like the wait was an eternity. My shipping notice was on the 20th. I ordered him June 29th. Did you pay in full or do layaway? Sometimes that effects how long it takes them to make your doll/heads.

Maybe they are behind because of the winter events? But like I said-I am just getting my doll from June, and I think it takes a bit longer with their faceup artist too.

Anyone else on here order the vampire heads or place an order after June and receive it? Maybe we can get an idea of what the wait times are looking like from other people.

 

Those of us who ordered the heads with no faceup were shipped a week late but they let us know they would be. The faceup ones were supposed to take an extra month or so. I'd check with them to see what is happening.

 

My 65cm unassembled guy body is 'On shipping' but I haven't gotten a shipping notice via email. Menace will have his own body soon.

I got my unassembled boy today and put him together with only one hiccup. Only had to redo the torso so I'm happy. Menace, my Yujin vampire, now has his own body and he can bug me 24/7.

This boy needs some clothes on.

 

Does somebody know is migidoll white skin matches mirodoll white skin? Or migidoll NS with mirodoll NS?

Or how white is the migidoll skin?

Hello everyone Mind if I join in on the Migidoll appreciation?

I don't have one right now, but my sights are set on Ell (who, I just noticed, is sold out right now T_T). One of the things I'm most fascinated with is the versatility of Migidoll faces. I've looked at lots of pictures of different sculpts, and they seem to change dramatically depending on their faceup--at least more so than some other companies' dolls. The possibilities seem endless, which is great! But it's also a little overwhelming, at least to me, because how will I ever make up my mind? :P

 

So what do you guys think about the new Migidoll body that YG from be with you dolls helped sculpt verses the old Migidoll body. I really like the new one. It seems more proportional to the heads and Its not as "chubby" like the old body. But I don't like some things on the new body like the sharp corners on the back of the knees and the ankles are really loose.
Whats your thoughts?

re: the "new" body; I'm not familiar with the old one, but I like the overall aesthetics of this one. I don't love the joints, though, elbows especially, and the range of movement for the hands. It looks good as long as you don't want any particularly interesting poses

 

actually I agree some of the wrist movement isnt so great but I like the over all proportions more then the old body! And the height is kinda nice~

 

Just ordered the cynical siho in tan!!! Im really excited to have a tan migidoll guy. I had the kay but i sold him and I was very fond of the color so lets hope this one is great!

 

I have never really cared one way or the other for Owen before and now I'm totally lost as to how that could be, because I am in love with this guy! His face and his horns and that blushing, wow.

I have a Miho in the old tan (hybrided on a Peakswoods body) sitting in my car waiting for me to get off work tonight and the delay is killing me It's been weird - I loved his faceup pictures, and then I just kind of went 'meh' about him while I was waiting for him to reach me, and I just really want to love him again once I take him out of the box tonight!

 

@kaitan I kind of felt the same way? Pretty much the only thing going through my head when he was available this summer was EARS! (and now they're hidden in that wig, of course) but really, it's a very nice sculpt. Migidoll did a beautiful job on his faceup, and my blushing... at least looks good in photos

Hopefully you'll be in love with your boy again! Miho is cute :3 And Migidoll does seem to do a good job on all their faceups.

I know that this thread is pretty quick, but I'm just going to pop in here anyhow. Don't have one of these boys yet, but am considering it. Right now leaning mostly towards Yujin (just wish I could find more owner photos of the non-cynical version), but was wondering if anyone could tell me what the body is like. It's been a while since I've had a large doll, so is it hard to find clothing for them, do they pose well, how's the height compared to other big dolls these days? Anything you can answer and to help convince me to take the plunge would be much appreciated, thanks!

 

Hey guys~I had a question or two about Migidoll.

I just (somewhat) recently purchased my first Migidoll and I'm still discovering so much about how his body works and whatnot. The shop I purchased it from couldn't remember exactly what year they ordered him, so I had to do some measuring and digging to find his body. Turns out, he's on the BNB 16th Body (M-Style type). It explains why I've been having such a fight buying clothes for him. That aside, the one thing that's been bugging me is his lack of head mobility. Posing is very important for me when purchasing a doll, but I was wondering if it's his neck itself or the flange on the back-bottom part of the head, where it rests against the neck.

Do the newer bodies/heads have more range looking up or down? Or is it a sort of standard for Migidoll to have a bit of stilted head mobility?


Also @Squeek of the North , my boy is a non-cynical Yujin. I can take some angle shot photos for you if you like? ^^

@Squeek of the North He has a company faceup from...quite some time ago, I'm sure xD. The store I bought him from couldn't remember exactly what year they ordered him. But it had to have been when their BNB 16th Body (M-Style type) was a standard. Not terribly sure.


I personally don't care for my boys to have eyelashes. That's just my preference, though. :3
I'm pretty sure he's a normal skin, judging how different lights take to the resin. I think I have size 12mm eyes in him now. His eyewells aren't too terrible of a fuss which is always great in my opinion.

I have some more pictures of him if you ever want to see them! I hope these helped a bit. Is there any specific lighting or colors or something you'd like to see him in? I can try and get it together for you with no problem. ^^

Thanks so much for these photos! Do any of these photos feature the 12mm eyes? The site listing claims that the doll in the promo photos has the 14mm eyes, so I am really curious to see what a smaller eye looks like in close ups.
I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering him in Tan and I am excited for the new body, albeit still unsure how easy or hard clothing buys will be for it.

Can't believe I missed this. Congrats on the order! I hope you get your guy soon. I am super excited to see another Tan Migidoll. What body will he be on?

I believe the green eyes are 12mm? But just to be certain, I'll take some tomorrow when I get the chance with some definite 12mms in him :3
I can't speak for the new bodies, but I know the older one that I have can fit most sd17 tops very well but usually sd13 bottoms fit him best. If their measurements are anything alike then I'd say that would be the same for you. Which makes buying full outfits a bear, the say the least! xD So hopefully you'll be lucky and not have that fate. I can't wait to see if you decide to get him though! I'm sure he'll be handsome! I don't see too many tan Yujins around.

Popping in because I'm loving seeing all these gorgeous dolls! I recently kind of fell in love with Migidoll, but apparently my favorite just has to be one that no one has...does anyone have a Haru? I haven't been able to find any owner photos at all, but he's so, so cute! (Also slightly annoyed that you can't get just heads in tan. I don't really like the Migi bodies, but I might want Haru's character to be tan...I haven't quite decided yet.)

Okay. I wonder if SD17 pants would then fit the new body best given that it's a bit taller. I'll check to see if they still have the specs and measurements for their old body. I really like the new body and feel that it'll be great for my purposes, though I do wish I could also get some owner photos of it. And having a big doll after so long is kind of daunting; I kept going smaller and smaller for a while there (but I've sold all but one 1/6th sized doll now).

 

Just here to show off my gorgeous Jina, Salem He's due for new eyes and maybe a new wig, but until then.. he's still as gorgeous as the day I got him -- five years ago this March!!

 

@Squeek of the North I bought the unassembled 65cm body and I love it. He is too wide in the hips for SD13 and it's snug on SD17 but the length is right.I apologize for the unflattering photo. Menace is quite upset at me, oh well.

Question for those who have the male body II (65), how well do they pose?

 

I have an 65, and so far so good but I think his elastic has loosen up. He still stands and sits well. I've been busy with other things so I need to experiment on him and take some posed photos.
