@ShadowOath - That's understandable. A lot of people wait until they have the doll in hand to decide anything. And as long as you coat the head with sealant before painting, you should be able to wipe and repaint him as many times as you like without any damage, so don't worry too much about that! Do you know what body you're getting with/for him?

 

@Sianserais I'm not sure. I assumed maybe Ryu. But I'll ask the previous family maybe they'll be able to tell me. Thank you for the tip about sealing his head first.

 

@ShadowOath - No problem! Migidoll only sold heads for years, so a lot of the older dolls you see around are hybrids. That's why I was curious about the body. I think Migidoll themselves are on the third version of their boy body, despite the latest being called the "Guy II." In any case, hope yours gets to you safe and fast!

Does anyone have a comparison between a Migidoll head and Senior Delf and regular Delf male body hybrids ? Trying to figure out which body would work better for my Migidoll Mu head.

 

Delf boys are pretty small, so I think that your Mu might look kind of bobble-headed on that body. Senior Delf would be the smallest I would go, but a Senior Delf 65 might fit better. Migidoll heads can be kind of challenging to hybrid with anything smaller than 65cm/SD17 size because they're fairly big.

 

If I can get to my mom's this weekend I might be able to do both.

 

I would also like to know how Luts works. Not a fan of the Migi body. Got my Yujin on a Loongsoul B-B62-02 and while he's kinda bobbleheaded it doesn't bother me much. IoS is currently a little lighter than migi but not by MUCH. It's maybe a 90-95% match. I would consider it if I liked those joints. So far pretty picky about bodies

I'm still trying to find a good wig for him. His hair needs to be a bit darker, and a little longer. The fiber wig I just got from Luts looks was a bit too textured for what I had in mind.

Hello, hello!
I recently got a Migidoll Cynical Ryu from another DoA member and I'm currently looking for a body for him. So far, I'm not really a fan of migidoll body (mainly because of the joints) and the popodoll 68 doesn't convince me either.

BUT! I've found two bodies that I liked:
a 2D doll 68cm Boy Body-02 (this one has a 10cm neck circumference AND I could also get jointed hands too)
a Ringdoll RGMbody-4 (girth of upper neck 9 cm and lower neck 10cm)

If I remember correctly, migidoll heads have a 10,5cm neck circumference, right? If that's the case, how would it fit those bodies? Has anyone tried them?

 

@Marina Roje - Migi's earlier sculpts (like Ryu) were designed to fit Volks' SD13 body, I believe, and to be honest, I feel like the 10.5cm neck on the Guy II body tends to look a little thick for them. And half a centimeter isn't that much anyway, so a 10cm neck should definitely be fine. The 9cm neck on the Ringdoll body might look a little thin, and there would be a small gap, but it's hard to say how obvious either would be without trying it. Maybe someone else can help with photos?

 

I have my Vampire Ell on a 70cm April Story body and Vampire Yujin on a 70 class (66cm) IOS they look good. They are all white resin.

 

I have Mu on a fairyland Feeple60 body. The neck fits fine and is, I think, 10m. He poses fine. The resin match is not perfect, but I was able to blush him and he's mostly fully clothed anyway so it works for me.

 

What do y'all think of the new boy, Vincente?? I wish they'd shown him blank but I think he's gorgeous! He might join Nova on my wishlist.

I like his type A rendition. Really tempting to get but we’ll see.

 

@mustbemissa - I think he looks very handsome (even if the nose is a little sharp for my personal taste)! He's not something I need, though, so I'll pass.

 

@Ephemeral_Dream I’m partial to the Type B myself, but only if it’s a darker resin (i think the warm tones of that faceup will really play wonderfully off a soft tan).

 

I like the look of the Type B makeup myself The eyebrows and colours suit my preferences. I wonder if thats also because I really like tan skin resins ahaha.
He’s handsome, however, his expression isn’t really my style and I don't have any plans currently for male dolls, so I won’t be getting him.

I've ordered Migi-Sun head on 27th Sep, and he's ready to ship on 8th October, that really surprised me
He's already sent ot face-up artist and it'd take around 3 weeks to done *w* Can't wait for the result!

 

Migidoll's historically been a fairly quick turnaround for me. They're one of my favorite companies for a reason!

What do you guys think of the new body?? I think it's very handsome, and it's hard to pass up on the unassembled kit deal. My only complaint about the Style65 body is the elbows, which they seem to have replicated here. Still, those shoulders are gorgeous! The proportions kind of remind me of the new Switch 70cm body.

 

The new body looks really nice. I like that they have the unassembled kit option-- I miss more companies doing that too!

I really like how the newer Migidoll bodies look. The broad shoulders on the Style68 is a nice addition I think I prefer the look of the Style65 body though.

I got the unassembled kit for the Style65 body and the box is super cute Literally just realized (4years later) that it came with a COA lol

No idea. i think when they have heads with face ups. Not often anyhow.

 

So I reached to Migidoll on their Q&A board because I'm planning on buying Nova. they said that they're currently renewing their heads, and will open their orders up one-by-one. It sounds like some heads will be discontinued, but they didn't specify, so I would expect an announcement fairly soon!

Definitely! I highly doubt they'd discontinue Jina - it's one of their most popular sculpts, if not THE most popular sculpt they have.

As a side note, Migidoll let me order Nova since they had him on hand! I ordered him on the new body, so I'll post a comparison when he gets here.

 

Alright so this might be a stupid question but how the heck do I get the head on the body? It's not like the vertical slits my other guys have, instead this one is horizontal? The doll in question is a Migidoll Vicente and I have already chipped his head & body trying tp figure it out

 

You turn the head so that the S-hook fits in the wide part of the slit. You then hold the head down, lift the S-hook and turn it 90 degrees so it catches on the narrow part of the slit. It should then stay in place. I use a ribbon to pull the S-hook because it hurts my fingers otherwise.

 

*sighs* I think I may need to buy a bigger S-hook, the one included with the body is too small.

Ugh, that sucks, @mekirin I’ve had that happen with some of my other dolls, though luckily I had spare s-hooks to switch them out on hand. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a bigger one for the 1/3 dolls though! I believe you can usually find them at hardware stores.

I hope Migidoll get their large boys posted for sale again soon. Got my eye on Cynical Ryu to snag this year. I’ve been wanting a Ryu since I was a newbie a bit over a decade ago. Figure it’s about time I get one. What’s everyone’s opinions on the Migi bodies, btw? Been trying to decide if I should just get a full doll or look into hybriding.

 

I think the dolls are still up for sale in blank parts at any time, right? That's how i got mine. I like the body. Nothing stood out negatively or positively or I'd have remembered. He's fully dressed now though.

 

@Qianna All their larger sculpts (the Style65s) have been marked as sold out for some time now. They just have their minis and smaller dolls available to order. All that’s up for sale for the Style65 size is the bodies and a pair of hands.

 

Oh wow. I didn't know that! I got mine last year. I didn't think they'd change it.

 

@Singull, it might be worth sending them a message on their Q&A board! They may have a head in stock. I was able to order that way last week.

As for the bodies, I really appreciate the aesthetic of them. I can't speak to the 68cm body (yet, ) but I own the Style65 body! It poses fairly naturally, though I think the elbows are a bit tricky. They're also sort of thicc around the hips compared to by my SD17 body, so pants might be a little tighter but should still fit. It's one of my most solid standers and slouches fairly nicely. I think it's definitely on par with most 65cm bodies, and I'd probably only rank Volks or Switch higher.

 

@mustbemissa I’ll probably do that. And thanks for the input! I mainly collect mini dolls so I know very little about what bodies that are on the market that are and aren’t great as far as handling goes when it goes to the bigger dolls. Plus so many people hybrid their Migidolls and I can never tell what bodies they have their boys and girls on.

I’ve actually been eyeballing the Style68 body and other bodies in that same height range...not sure I’m up for a nearly 70cm tall doll just yet though.

 

Looking back at my box opening, there's one picture that doesn't work. But i remember loving how the joints work.

Hi! I got my dream boy yesterday, a MD Ryu! I've loved him since he was released, and was so happy to finally add him to my collection!

However, he's had at least two previous owners and is from around 2009 I think, but myself and the seller don't know the first owner. And I'm a bit paranoid about recasts.... Hopefully he really is from 2009 so should be safe, but does anyone have an old MD that they can check the inside of the headcap for me? Mine doesn't have the fancy stamp I've seen online, I think it just has 'MD RYU' carved in to it.

 

Mine is from early 2008, late 2007 (he old) and only has MD RYU in his head cap. I'm not his first owner, but I'm the second and I've owned him since 2008. The first owner bought him directly from Migi one of the first times she sold him (if I remember that DA post from way back in the day correctly), and I'm 100% sure he's legit.

Okay in that case I have another question, in case you or anyone else has the old body.... Those ankles! Is there any good way to stop the s-hook snapping to the side and pulling the foot sideways??

I received my Nova yesterday! He’s blank, so not much point in a photo, but I did take a few comparisons of the new body with my Style65 and SD17 bodies. I’ll post those soon! In the meantime, here’s Holden:
