Loongsoul 1/3 doll discussion Part 5

Hi all,

I just bought LS fox second hand (68 cm) in ws but I prefer slimmer body for him. Can I hybrid with resinsoul 70 cm body?

 

I do believe it will work well on the RS 70 body.

Update – I sent my wrong colour head back to Alice on 22/02 and Loongsoul already have my new head on the way. I'm glad I haven't had to wait for months

 

The new head arrived today! It's perfect. Alice's Collections was great to communicate with fixing my order and it arrived very quickly. So happy I didn't have to wait months for a new head to be cast.

 

I wonder if someone else received your NY head for their WS doll and that contributed to the speedy turn around in fixing your order. In any event, he's lovely and congrats on a handsome new fella!

 

@castironteapot I love the Cang Jue sculpt, he's so pretty! Glad you got your head in the right color and it was an easy switch!

Loongsoul finally did a v2 of the 68cm girl body so I'm tempted

 

She is very tempting!

 

UGH. Why did they regress the jointing for the v2 girl body instead of incorporating the improvements made to the big dude body v3? I hate the split limb version of knee and elbow joints - both for aesthetic purposes, and for mobility/posability - but I guess I'm in the minority on the issue

 

Finally my first BJD came this morning and he’s so damn beautiful, I’m very happy because this is my first time getting one after more than a decade wanting one. I felt in love with him the first time I saw his picture on website and I knew he needed to be my first BJD ever.

I’m considering to hire a makeup artist that I have in mind to do the face-up that I want but not gonna lie his makeup is already stunning.

He is a Fang Ri Tu sculpt by Loong Soul, his skin tone is light-rose and the face-up was made by the brand too. The quality is very impressive and I had to wait around 7 months but He’s finally here.

I’ll be updating my journey with him and my other boys that still being made also posting about their clothes, new face-ups, resin comparisons and more.

Anyone else waiting on a Lou Jingou? I ended up placing an order for him -- I loved his look plus the outfit and mask, etc. I got.him blank so I will have another project doll on my hands when he gets here haha. I got him in wheat brown this time! I'm excited to see how he compares to the other resin colors.

Maybe I'll be done with my Leopard Ji Shui Bao and my Rabbit Fang Ti Ru and my project White Dragon Emperor Bai Di by the time he shows up

I'm thinking of tackling my leopard Ji Shui Bao but I think now that I'm staring at him that I want add some tattoos to his shoulders. His outfit is so complex and takes forever to take off/put on so I miiiight paint someone else before him haha. I need to work out his design elements. I'm thinking of a snow leopard on his back/shoulders for the obvious reasons haha.

 

Does anyone have advice for someone who wants to invest or purchase a Loongsoul BJD boy? I'm thinking about
Tao Tie Human Version-ChiYuan or 7 Stars - Greedy Wolf. Also what website do you purchase it from?

 

What kind of advice are you looking for? As you're thinking about 68cm-class boy, I suggest you take the new v2 body. The older one is actually closer to 65cm and it's problematic when it comes to clothes.
As for the website, my go-to is Alice's Collection acbjd.com

 

I have ordered from Loongsoul, Legend and Alice's Collections. I tend to check all three. A doll may be sold out at one site and available at another. Also there may different event offerings such as gift items and free or reduced shipping.

 

How to take care of the doll. Would you suggest buying second-hand? Is the face up fragile? And where to get clothes for the doll.

 

You might find the big bjd faq helpful when it comes to things like how to care for a doll, buying new or second hand, etc.

 

I have bought many bodies through Cloversinging too. I get my clothes (I have the old 73cm bodies) all over the place so no help there but I do have one Loongsoul outfit that I adore.

 

The faceup on my Cang Jue is secure, but both his eyelashes have fallen off (thankfully in places I could find them to reattach). His resin's great and he's a solid poser

 

I do really enjoy the loongsoul clothes, so if there's a chance, I try to grab them from the company if they don't break the bank.

I like Alice collections and use the website to cross reference the measurements given on clothes. Loongsoul is a popular enough company that people make clothes for their dolls, but not SO popular everything will be made for them; Check things like thigh girth. I haven't had this issue with loongsoul specifically, but it's good practice I think. I can't get taobao to work for me, but the company does have an official store on there if you want potentially cheaper prices.

Legendoll.net is also a website I have enjoyed buying from, I just feel their site takes forever to load and just a touch less organized then acbjd.com . Just an opinion though.

 

I like both Alice's Collections and Legend. But it's easier to find colthes and accessories frm a specific company on Legend. Stacy's Pink Ocean offers a number of sizes but will also custom make clothes to measurements you provide.

I'm in mourning thinking that I won't be able to afford Doctor YouZhi after all. For a few years now I've had him in mind for Mu Qingfang (SAVE) or some OC because I love his face, but I always ended up buying heads here and there, and I always thought my first LS doll would be Cang Jue/Tian Gou (at this point I don't know if it's the same sculpt), and then I would get the Doctor YouZhi next if opportunity and economy allowed it
Does anybody know if they sell the heads (preferably with faceup) separately?

Looking to get Wizard - Gu Shu Shi fullset next month. I am a little disappointed I can't get the face up that is in the promo pictures though. I saw some place that their Light Rose color is pretty close to Ring Doll normal? I wasn't sure if Loong Soul sold feet parts that let them wear sandals. Or if their dark clothes are known to stain?

It's a little off, The LoongSoul light rose is paler the then the ringdoll normal. Ringdoll is also a little less pink then the the LoongSoul light rose. I got curious reading your post and put my Alice01 in normal, next to Leopard Ji Shui Bao in light rose.

I can take a picture if you want.

 

Please do when you can, in the big discord server someone posted comparison pictures and I thought the match was really great. If only slightly off with in one of the pictures. I am surprised to hear Ring Doll isn't as pink, because its so pink to me. lol

 

For the Ringdoll dols I have, they actually match my Loongsoul doll in normal yellow pretty much exactly. This is an older, not great quality picture, but it's my 1st release Xie Lian in Ringdoll normal and Loongsoul Bai Jue in normal yellow. It looks a little different in the picture, but in person they're practically identical. I saw some people saying that Ringdoll's newer releases, including the 1st version of Hua Cheng were pinker, but my Hua Cheng's resin color matches my Xie Lian's; i don't really have good pictures because he's very difficult to get pictures of, sadly.
Afaik, Loongsoul doesn't have separate feet parts for sandals. I've never ordered any of their clothes, so I can't say anything about that, but from the images on their site, they seem well made and lined, so I don't think it would be an issue though.

 

No Problem! Leopard Ji Shui Bao Is the big hand on the left. He is in light rose. Alice - Ringdoll is the hand on the right, and she is Ringdoll normal. They look close, but you can see how Alice is darker and less pink.

That is good to know! But now I am more confused. Also if the doll clothes are not lined in light colors they can be subject to staining still.

I am really surprised that Ring Doll is more yellow. My Jia Xu from ringdoll feels so pink....

Now I feel unsure what color to get Wizard in so I can use Ring Doll's foot parts (that I already have in ring doll normal) I might also ask Alice Collections what they think because I normally order through them.

I know Charm Doll is a sister company to Loong Soul and I have a doll in their normal yellow. Is that the same as Loong Soul's?

 

your dragon boy is soooo beautiful
it is so hard to put clothes on that beautiful winged dragon boy. I had him in white skin.
a mid flowy skirt that hangs low on his hips , splits down both sides and only goes knee length.
thats my conclusion when I had my boy. no stiff fabrics though.

I'm obsessed with the new Monster Nian boy he's perfect to be a jerk character paired with a different doll I finally got a body for. I'm a little annoyed he's a 20cm head but if I can make impldoll heads work I can do this

 

Me too!! First Loongsoul boy that got me in a while. I didn't even notice his tiny head though I hope he doesn't look too pinheaded IRL. He's so cool though. I'm super obsessed with new years traditions/lion dances and the origin stories of it so he was an easy buy for me lol

has anyone tried to hybrid the 70-75 cm loongsoul boy body torsos?
I do not like the taller 3 part torso that they use on some of the older and newer dragons but I love the newer 2 part torso boy body.
I would even try another company torso if it might work to replace the 3 part torso but I need any bit of info I can get before I attempt it.
always looking to make the most beautiful and perfect boy to my eyes even if I have to franken up my boys.
any info would be greatly appreciated . I cant be the only mad doctor on DOA

 

I would probably get him if they would actually offer the face up from the promotional pictures

 

If only little things like that would keep me from buying any doll....

 

As someone who can't paint their own face ups, it's not a small thing for me.
The face is one of the most important parts of how the doll looks.
I guess it's different for those who can paint them themselves, or have artists at hand they know can deliver to their likes.

 

Monster Nian is very cute and mischievous so if anyone gets him I'm looking forward to seeing him! He reminds me a lot of my Leopard Ji Shui Bao (who still needs to be painted lol) so I'm thankfully safe, whew!

I got my Lou Jingou a couple days ago!! I LOVE the wheat resin oh noooo haha now I'm going to keep wanting more dolls in this color. He is currently very nekkid and unpainted but his fullset pieces are amazing but I was too zonked this week from day job to do anything but put his head and hands on lol. The armor pieces are going to be so much fun to paint! I have to decide if I actually like his fullset wig or if we'll be upgrading/replacing that. As always all the accessories are amazing. We shall see if he gets punted up the line of unpainted and unfinished dolls to get done sooner (unlikely ).

 

I can't paint, sew or anything. So, I have to figure out something for the blank faces I have.

 

I got my Lou Jingou's fullset put together and now I'm exhausted lol I think one of his accessories broke in transit -- I have a bunch of beads and a slightly broken bottle that I'll figure out how to put back together in some way. Given how many clothes he has on, no one is going to notice much Not sure I'm keeping this eye color, I ordered some in gray, so we'll see how I feel once those get here. Ahhh the ongoing search for the right eyes and wigs, never ending

I'm with you. I was pretty disappointed when Alice told me it wasn't offered. I don't like it when companies show things you can't get like that (was also sad to find out he didn't come with the fire crackers or prop) especially when it's so central to how a doll looks in promo. I like the other faceup enough so I ordered that, but the promo one is definitely cooler

 

I just placed an order for beast nian!! This is my first venture back into resin after a few years thinking I'd stay vinyl only, LOL. The sculpt was wayyy too perfect for an existing character of mine, so I couldn't pass him up!!

 

I'm planning on getting mine at the end of the month, what resin did you choose?

 

Sorry for the late reply, I'm so bad at checking my social media notifs! I placed an order for tan, but plan on having him dyed darker as my character's skin is much deeper than the colors they offered for him.

Oh wow is that their french real resin you think? I chose that resin shade bc it felt the most like the vibes I want for my guy.
