Little Rebel Doll Discussion

Apr 8, 2011

    1. Just a fly-by post. I mostly finished my first yarn wig made especially for my Kamu and I'm so chuffed with how it turned out I just had to share;

[IMG]Undercut Wig by Rubydoll Chaos, on Flickr

I need a body for this boy. He's too darn gorgeous to float!

      • x 7
    2. nice wig! I'm continually impressed by how talented people are making gorgeous wigs out of yarn.:abow:

    3. @petiteballerine Thanks! I've made a couple of wigs before, rerooting, using hairwefts, fur and so on but this is my favourite method. It probably takes more time than other ways but it's so easy. And no stabbing myself with needles!

    4. Had to order new eyes for my André. Needs eyes with bigger iris. Love him to bits even with an empty stare :XD:

    5. What size did you order? My André just arrived yesterday, and I don't think I have any eyes I'm happy with for him! :(

    6. I have now 14mm small iris eyes. He needs 16mm small iris eyes.

    7. Today I got the 70cm Doll Legend body for my Kaylar. I am very positively surprised. The head looks good on the body, definitely not too big. The color match is around 95% I would say - Kaylar is NS while the body is normal yellow. The body is a shade darker than the head, but that could be corrected with blushing the head.

    8. Does anyone know if the little rebel tan resin match dollzone current tan color? Thanks

    9. You guys! I sent my André head to a face up artist who advertised in one of the BJD Facebook groups -- and she's already started on him and sent me a preview and I'm so excited!

I've asked for heavy freckles and a fair/redhead color palette, so there is more to come! <3 Here's the artist's webpage if you're interested in commissioning her: AttilaTilly Aesthetics - Custom BJD Faceups & More

    10. And he's done! I love him so much! <3

      [IMG]Untitled by emac116, on Flickr

I can't wait to get him back. This was an amazingly fast turnaround, and a very reasonable price -- $55 for the face-up and free basic blushing/manicure on a pair of hands for members of her mailing list. Check her out if you're looking for a professional, fast, and talented face up artist. :)

    11. Was a (normal) skin comparison of ringdoll and littlerebel ever posted?

    12. I was just going to post this so good timing! Little Rebel normal with Ringdoll normal-
      [IMG]
The colour is not an exact match but close enough that it doesn't look too off. I wasn't able to check the neck fit as the Ringdoll O ring is too big to go through the LR head opening. So you may need to use a smaller O ring or S hook if you want to use the larger Ringdoll bodies.

      • x 5
    13. The match looks good enough for me! Nice to know it's an option.
      Thanks! @Epicari

    14. That's a good match @Epicari . I wish I'd bought two Kaylars, one normal and my tan which is much harder to match. I have three bodies the normal would fit nicely on.
but he's so beautiful in tan.

    15. Hi there!

Now a tan Ethan head lives at my home and it needs a body. It should be between 62-65 cm, not very muscular and not very expencive :wiggle A slight color difference within blushing/make up and neck fitting doesn't matter.

Has anyone tried LR tan head on Dolfamily H 65 cm?

What about Iplehouse SID or YID bodies? Does IH real skin make a good colour match?

So, after all what is the best tan body variant for a LR head?

    16. @Kasia_I - On page 45, @Epicari posted excellent pics of him on a DF 62 body. too big IMO. The tan does seem to match DF, going by a photo on LR site.
I ordered the DF-H tan jointed hands three months ago. still waiting. If the color matches, I might get the 65 H bod for him. meanwhile, he'll live on an Akagi 66 and wear long sleeves and high necked shirts.
Cerberus Project tan is an excellent match.

    17. @petiteballerine, thank you for your reply.
I hope you 'll get your hands and body soon and all of us will see a perfect combination)))
      Keep us in touch please)

    18. I'm waiting for a DF-H 65 body that should arrive next week. It is normal skin but I will take photos of it with several of my doll heads for comparison ^_^
(I really hope it matchs! I've been waiting more than 4 months for it xD)

    19. Oh, it will be wonderful if the proportions are ok. My OC is expected to be a 17 year teen, so the body should not be very muscular and high. DF H looks rather more suitable than the Luts one. I hope the color match will be good too.

    20. Just started my layaway for Kai II! I'm super excited for this sculpt, it fits one of my characters perfectly! I'm going to be putting a body on layaway soon, I'm going to get a loongsoul 58cm body. Once I get the head I'll be starting a project journal because there's so much to do for him :D

      • x 1
    21. Me too, me too! Can't wait. :dance

      • x 1
    22. Ooh, sounds exciting! :D I snapped up a Kai II in tan. He'll be sharing a body with my tan Kamu -- when I eventually get a body.... :sweat

      • x 2
    23. @shinibun I got NS but I'm planning on doing some resin dyeing, since the tan isn't quite the right shade for my OC! I wish I had know about the site earlier because I absolutely adore Kamu too, he's so adorable!

    24. @sir-alan-of-trebond He really is! :love I've finally figured out who my Kamu is (or I'm getting closer at least!) so he'll be off for a faceup soon. I hope you're able to get one the next time she has an order open for him!

    25. @shinibun I hope so too! I can't wait to see pictures of your Kamu once he's finished!

    26. Here’s he is! In this form he’s Gareth, punk geek ;) He needs an actual wig — this is a junky one just to keep him from being bald lol

The more I look at him though, the more I see Newt Scamander — so he might have an alter ego sometimes. :)

    27. @emac He looks great! I know you said it's a junk wig, but I like the color on it. :3nodding:

      • x 1
    28. Thanks! I love the color too but it’s in such baaaaaad shape :/ I would love an alpaca one in this color tho!

    29. so I received my DF-H body today, it is pink skin... and it is TOO pink for my LittleRebel normal resin ._.
it is a pity because the body is really nice and the proportion with most of my dolls is perfect! maybe DFH yellow would be a closer match (I've been told that LR normal-yellow is a good match with DF-H yellow, and my two normal resins are not too far away so maybe the yellow is the better option also for LR normal with a bit of blushing)

I need to take better photos but by know I have one in my instagram: Carmen on Instagram: “I received my parcel from alice's collection today (ordered almost 5 months ago). I've wanted the df-h body for so long! And I'm not…”

      • x 3
    30. Congratulations, dear Carmen!
The body looks really cool and the proportionsseems seems quite good. Aren't you going to make some full height photos? And what about hands? Are they ok comparing to the face lenght?

      • x 1
    31. My Gareth (a few posts above) is on a DF-H body -- I think the same one Carmen bought, but mine is older and blushed. It has jointed hands right now. I can compare the default hands & jointed hands to face size tonight if Carmen cannot. :)

    32. @Kasia_I I took some new photos so you can see the proportions with Ethan (which is perfect!). The head fits and moves very well on the neck, and the size of the hands are very good in my opinion.
Pity that the color match is so bad T_T (I'm going to blush as soon as possible).
sorry that I couldn't take full height photos but I hope they help.

    33. WOW!!! It's really what I'm looking for!!!
I hope, DF-H tan will not differ much from LR's one. If so - I am going to rip my piggy bank after my summer vacations)))

Thank you, dear! I will wait for you)

      dat new resin smell..!
Kai II has arrived - and is now about to get shipped off again, for a faceup. :sweat

    35. Sorry Kasia, I forgot about this! :( But I took a pic of Gareth last night with his hands near his face, maybe it will help you a little. :)

      [IMG]Untitled by emac116, on Flickr

Also, I found out that my DF-H body is actually the more limited DF-H Nan Gong body from a few years ago, not their current larger body. That explains why it's legitimately 70cm but still has 3-part torso -- and why it has the weird round elbow and knee caps.

His arms and legs are so long you guys lol. Gareth is super loooooooooongboye

    36. doll family H 65 works very well with his head. I'm very impatient waiting for my DF jointed hands in tan. If the color is right, the body is next.
we're a patient lot, aren't we? waiting for funds, waiting for dolls to be made....:apresent:....but when all goes well, it's worth it.

      • x 1

    37. I've just wanted to write to you to ask if there is any news about the hands we are all waiting for :))))

Yes, I think waiting and patience is a great feature of our hobby and these are the things that make it amazing))

Oh yes, dear, they look a little bit larger but okay, doesn't matter much. Your guy is pretty cool)) and his tattoos are great!)

      • x 1
    38. Thank you! Yes, the jointed hands are long but his body is long too so I think they work well together.

      • x 1
    39. @Kasia_I - Alice's told me DF takes about 5 months. so I'm 3 months in.
I thought hands might be quicker.

      :sigh

    40. FYI I put my LR tan Kamu on a real skin brown Luts senior delf body and the color was very good. I ended up getting him the MYou 62 cm body in their coffee skin and the match was also very good. Of course the Kamu head is smaller than some of her other sculpts. I wish I could post photos but if you're interested, they're on Instagram under the name @duennenberg

    41. Wow!! I just realized that I never showed my LR girls on this thread!! Shame on me! :O
The big one is a LR Jelle on an April Story Senior girl body (with small breast size). The little one is Maya >u< she's such a good poser and so, so lovely!

      • x 16
    42. Your Jelle is gorgeous! I love that dark matte lip color with her bobbed hair and blunt cut bangs! (your Maya is adorable too, btw, I'm just such a nerd for LR sculpts as girls :XD:)

      • x 2
    43. Just dropping off a pic of Kamu on April Story's Senior girl body with big bust...

I had to take him off quick before I started getting ideas. He still hasn't got a body of his own yet...

Weirdly Kamu wasn't a bad match for DF-H pink except I'd already blushed it to better suit my slightly yellower Svein. But I think with realistic faceups it's nice to have the body coloured to go with it .

    45. Hey guys, I just spent the better part of an hour hopping around this thread admiring all the gorgeous LR everyone has and trying to find an answer to a hybrid question. I managed to discover that LR heads fit beautifully on Loongsoul bodies, but I didn't seem to find if the Loongsoul tan matches LR tan?

    46. @ZylphiaCrowley if you'd want to dye a doll I know Rit dyemore sandstone matches LR tan perfectly if you'd want to try dyeing a body? But I don't know if LR tan matches loongsoul tan but that might be an option for you?

    47. @Justjordy0 I've considered dying as a backup plan just in case so that's good to know. I wonder if I'd just be better off buying normal or white skin then and dying it since I don't know how LS tan skin would take the dye. I'll still search around a bit, but it's nice to know that a Loongsoul body is still very much an option. Thank you~!

    48. Greetings again, fellow LR fans! I hope you're all having a magical week. <3

Due to some MAJOR changes that may be happening in my life soon, I should really be slowing down my purchases -- and to a certain extent, I have. But I couldn't pass up this deal I found in a FB group. My André will soon have a wild twin, and I can't wait to see him in person!

    50. @Gothland or anyone here on the thread have any idea of the color match and fit for Akagi bodies? I tried skimming the posts, but no luck in seeing what I needed. Thanks in advance!

      • x 1
    51. @Kasia_I your Ethan is looking so good already! I really like his eyebrow shape and that blushing over his nose ^3^

@emac congrats! I can't wait to see that wild twin :XD:

@PacificBlue This person has pictures of her an Aleksander on an Akagidoll ver.II in flickr: Jay

I would like to get an Akagidoll ver I body for my dolls, and based on my research the proportion is good, and the color is maybe a bit more yellow than the head.

      • x 2
    52. Thanks @Gothland! Additionally, I have two Akagidoll bodies now (ver. II type) -- one older one in white resin and one brand new in normal resin. I can compare the resin match of my normal André with the normal Akagidoll body if someone here wants? My André has been painted but his head cap should be the original resin color still. I will say that the resin on the new Akagidoll body is pretty pink...

      • x 1
    53. @emac oh that comparison picture would be very helpful! all the akagidoll comparisons I've seen were maybe old bodies because the resin looked quite yellow.

      • x 1
    54. Sure! I have trouble remembering to do photos, but I will try my best tonight haha

And don't worry! It's not as pink as the DF-H body you got! XD (But it looked pinkish for sure.)

    56. @Gothland and all:

Well, even though I think the brand new Akagidoll normal resin body I have is considerably pinker/peachier than usual, it is a damn good match for André! So much so that I’ve moved him onto that body permanently now lol

    59. Hi there! !!

Today I've finished painting my dear Nikita, LR Ethan in tan. It was a real disaster for me, because I forgot almost everything about how to paint makeup during my pregnancy and my boy's first year but I had much time to read and watch about it. So this huge piece of information stored in my head and I can see a lot of progress since my previous attempts of painting.

This time I tried to use acrylic paints instead of watercolor and, you know, I liked acrylic more)) I think the skin structure is pretty good though there's no measure for the perfection.
I see some problems with the eyelashes I think I could change them to smaller ones, but not now, may be later.
