Shinji is lovely. I like the way the artist has done his mouth. Does she have plans for girl dolls?

 

I will be watching this thread for more updates! Glad to see our very own members making wonderful dolls!

 

I think Shinji would be a good girl too! If I could buy one, I would make him as a girl. That mouth is wonderful.

Kat is good making awesome asian boys, but I'm sure she can make good girls too. I hope she can release more heads in the future ^^

 

Hooray, she's finally releasing Shinji! unfortunately I'm broke Will Shinji only be available for a limited time or can we order this mold on certain periods?

Thank you so much for all the nice comments! I'm totally surprised about the great response that Shinji has received.
I've received a lot of orders and I'm afraid I won't have enough heads in stock ;_; I'm going to order more reproductions to Dollshe now but probably they will take about two months to be ready for sale again ><

 

Sweet! Gothland has exquisite taste in dolls, so it's wonderful to see that distilled into her own sculpt! Also love that he's cast by Dollshe so we know exactly what the resin will match. I hope there will be preorders later in the year. :3

 

I'm really happy Gothland has started to make her own sculpts, I really love her work. The sculpts are a little too young-looking for me for the moment but I think they're great! I'm not surprised at all they are already sold out. ^^

oooooooh!! I love him! He is too cute, I just love his little jowls (sp-???). I've been looking forward to a single-artist to put out a sculpt I love and I've finally found it. I'll have to bookmark Gothland's website and hope I catch the next ordering time.

 

I really like the Shinji sculpt. I just love his mouth. If I had the extra money I'd get one asap. What other companies match the oriental skin tone?

 

A quick search in the Picture Request thread says it may be close to Volks Normal.

Does anyone know how long Gothland will be accepting pre-orders? The more I look at Shinji the more I really must have him. A back story started forming the second time I looked at him and he is telling me to buy!! lol

 

I saw Volks, but was wondering if there were any others. What about Luts? I noticed one of the Shinji heads was on a Luts body.

 

I have fallen in love with that 'pout'..... such an interesting and wonderful sculpt..... I have placed my order and am very excited about getting my hands on and doing a face-up! I may make Shinji a girl!!

I'm accepting pre-orders but the problem is that I don't know yet when the next batch of heads will be ready. Anyway, If you prefer not to do pre-order, there will be some more heads in stock for sale in a few months.

Shinji is so lovely! I had seen pics of him in progress, so I am happy to finally see him in all his glory!

 

I found this wonderous being on flickr and emailed Gothland instantly to beg for one. I love the eyes, nose, mouth. He reminds me just a tad of Hyper Dong Ha. I was lucky enough to be permitted to own one. I can't wait till he arrives!

I'm going to ship some heads today and I hope the arrive quick to their new owners. This is very exciting for me because he is my first doll!!

 

There is an oriental skin Shinji on his way here!!!!!!! We'll see how long US customs decides to detain him.

I'm seriously ecstatic ... wondering what I'll do about a faceup, so I'm looking forward to seeing what others do! His just seems a sculpt that is very versatile. I have a headless Volks body here, so at least he'll have temporary if not permanent accommodations.

 

My Shinji is in customs at JFK....so now the wait...they should release him soon. I may even have him by Saturday or Monday!

My Shinji arrived today! It only took him 10 days in transit ... I was expecting much longer with US Customs. I feel badly putting him up here without a faceup, but Gothland insisted even without the faceup I should. It's going to be a while before I can line up someone, so until then ...



Here with 16mm DropRops (these won't be permanent ... Drops tend to have a comparatively, slightly smaller iris) and a Leeke 8/9 wig (perfect fit).

Also, I put up some body proportion, neck/head joint and resin comparison pix between a Demon Garden and Volks SD13 body. (This guy is in oriental skin.)

I think this guy is fabulous. Love him! Gothland, thanks with many superlatives tacked on. You rock!

My Shinji is probably sitting at our local postal centre! It was a holiday here Friday and Monday/Tuesday next week too, so no post until Wednesday....gahhhh .... I can't wait!

His name is Shinji, of course, and he's a model for KO company. A google search ought to do it. ^_^ It's definitely a likeness, and that's a compliment.

Gothland, I finally picked Shinji up at the post office where he was waiting all week for me! He's gorgeous -- I couldn't wait to give him his faceup so did it in the fading light, and the photo is FLASH, but I still think he looks gorgeous. I had to try him in pale eyes like you have in your first photo. I'm in love! Thank you so much!

Yesss - my lovely boyhead is here! Shinji in fresh skin:
I have him posing on a 5stardoll tiny body in white skin... I need to get him his own body - preferably in SD size.... Any suggestions?
And what do you think of this resin match?

 

I received the body for my Shinji today. This is the 5stardoll Super (60 cm) body in White Skin. The head is Freshskin. I'm happy with the match - the proportions are ok and the resin match is pretty good too. I would have liked a less muscular body, but for 216 dollars including the shippingcosts this is much better for my wallet. Now he only needs to be dressed...

While teaching myself how to use a sewing machine and how to make clothes/ clothing patterns, I made Shinji this outfit. He also got a new wig (by Akasarushi) in a dark brown. I have been 'playing' with him all week. Next step: a coat, socks and a cape or something. And something on his head.
And if anyone has an idea for shoes for him (his feet are 7,5 cm long) I would love to hear it!

I'm at a friend's house now and she has got some 5stardoll white skin old type bodies, and you were right! the color match looks good with fresh skin (just slightly less pink than the head) ^^ I will try to take some photos.

 

Thank you . The shirt turned out very well, the vest could use some improvement under the arms and the pants are ok. I want different pants for him though - I'm trying to deside if I should buy a pattern and try either the watson pants, or the pants and coat from this one - or just keep trying and use my present pattern as a sloper and devellop something by myself. The nice thing about the pattern is that it will most likely teach me the techniques to do them too.

At last at last ... bet you thought I forgot!!?? I received him at the end of last week, back from his faceup by Lilykoi (enigmadoll, who saw him just as I did)!



He's one of the first six from waaaay back , oriental skin, and he's on a Demon Garden pink-normal body. Perfect resin match ... though his face looks darker because of the blushing.

I am so mad for this boy. Thank you many times over, Gothland!! (Now, when's the next beauty??? )

It still surprises me how different all the Shinji heads are and I really love to see them.

Now that I'm back home and that I received the materials I needed, I'm going to start to work again on the new heads (Seven and Ciel), and I'd like to release at least one of them in January-February if possible ^^
