LatiDoll Yellow Discussion part 27

Love the group shots! I am always in awe when people can get multiple dolls posed and in focus all at once. Definitely a skill I need to work on!

I'll add an old picture of old lati sculpts from a dolly day with a friend. We've got an interloper, plus a Miel, Suji, and Haru in the lineup.

Seeing the older sculpts reminds me of the first time I saw Lati dolls. It was before I knew about bjd and couldn’t understand why you had to buy parts, I came around eventually, lol!

 

Guys I have these 3 latis, I bought them second hand but i dont even cleaned them nor anything. I know the first one is a limited lumi xmas elf edition, but which are the other two (basic miel or grown up belle?)

Has anyone ordered any of the newer dolls? I’m waiting on Laura, Mew and Jerry version in tan. I also bought an older stock doll from Doll Peddlar, Hana, Paris Special Limited version in tan. They were having a sale and I’ve always wanted a tan Hana.

 

I see a lot of people putting them for sale on the second hand market, and not many collecting them. I wonder why, i think the new dolls are cuter (not the newest ones, but the new ones)

 

Two Hanas, same pose…I need to work on my photo creativity and find some new poses, lol!

 

I bought a Lati Yellow secondhand a few weeks ago. When her new wig arrives, I need to photograph her!

I'm not sure (the previous owner bought it before Lati started doing COAs, so the only proof I have that it's genuine are the head pieces), but it looks like she's a Bella. Once her wig arrives, I'm replacing her tiny eyelashes and posing her in a dress I'm sewing.

 

I've not specifically got the dolls you mentioned but I have got some of the newer releases. I'm currently waiting on one of the new basics and the event head doll that was on offer.

 

And her wig arrived before I finished the dress. Here she is!

 

I got a shipping notice for my two Match Girls. Really excited to bring them home.

 

Has anyone gotten dolls that were ordered in January? I ordered one from Doll Peddlar and they had said that Lati dolls would arrive by the end of January. Then in February they changed it to February. I asked for an update in March and they said they expected them in a couple weeks but that didn’t happen.

I also wanted to ask since I haven’t been in the hobby that long, does anyone know what Chu in the Chu version means?

 

i cant help with the doll peddlar thing but the chu is like a kissy face. like the sound when you blow a kiss lol. thats why they have puckered lips

I got a new old stock Emily, Ghost Bride Reaper version full set. All of my other Lati full sets are casual so I was pretty impressed with the outfit details. I don’t think I’ll be able to catch all the details in photos but hopefully I’ll have time for pictures soon. I’m working on setups for holiday displays so now I’ll have another doll to display around Halloween.

lati sculpts are crossing into uncanny valley territory. its really sad how much they changed style.
i miss the old days of elaborate events with detailed costumes and beautiful photos to tell a story. (especially wizard of oz, aladdin, nutcracker, beauty and the beast, town circus of bremen, little prince)
now they are all looking like actually babies with creepy face. what do you all think of these new sculpts?

 

The babies are cute (though I haven't got any). The other new sculpts are a bit dull, I can't even tell them apart any more. I definitely prefer the older sculpts.

 

The new babies aren't tempting me at all. They just don't fit in with my collection.

 

Having collected for almost 20 years, a lot has changed. Companies have come and gone. I think the biggest problem they face now is that there are fakes and there are also very cheap dolls now. Don't want to spend $500 and up, you can now get a full set for around $100. It is a lot to compete with. I think they are going with what is trendy to stay in the game.

 

The new babies are OK if they are an occasional release but they are not something that I'd buy. I think there are a lot of baby faced dolls on the market at the moment- I can't recall their names though! I'm guessing they are jumping on a trend. I agree with others, I do miss thr big releases that they used to do with 5 or more dolls coming out all around a theme/story.

 

I love all the Lati dolls. I don’t think it’s nice to say someone’s art is creepy..

Good evening fellows,
I was wondering what is lati yellow (old model) elastic size? Someone told me its 1,5mm but i can only seem to find 1 or 2mm in my country, nothing in between XD

 

I'm not sure. I just re-strung my Sophy, but I got the string at Lati, so I'm not sure about the size. 1,5 mm sounds about right, though. (I put the old elastic on a ruler, and it looks like it's less than 2 and more than 1.)

@spih - that's an adorable dress! Is that the yarn size you used? It looks very thin.

Edit: I just realised your question is a month old. This thread needs spam, I have to go and do something about that!!! LOL!!

 

I'm on a quest to get all my dolls dressed - decent wig, shoes, clothing and rudimentary face-up. They all could use some work, and I really want to make a few outfits myself, but for now at least all the Latis are dressed, and all but two of them have shoes.

I took them out for a photoshoot today. I took a few pictures, and then made a composite, because I just have too many and I don't know how to do spoilers.



They're Saoirse (Mystic Sophy Elf) and Felix (Mystic Haru Bat Child), Annabelle and Annabeth (TCoB Tan Sophy twins)
Rafflesia (Raffy) - Mia in pink skin and Tiger Lily (Mystic Elly in brown tan) and a new NS Haru called Dandy (actually he's Dandelion, but he likes being called Dandy).

Dandy still needs shoes. He's got some nice shiny black dress shoes on the way, because he does want to live up to his name.

I also have three Leas and three Pukifee boys on Lati bodies. I tend to just lump those last three in with the PKF, because that's what their heads are.

 

I got the yarn from a local flea market years ago. It had no label, so I don't know what size it is, but it is really thin.

I also have a picture of Isabella, Isadora and their new sister Umbra. Isabella is a Unicorn Angel Lea, Isadora is a Hell Kid Lea, and Umbra is a Blue Moon Mystic Lea.



Isadora is the only other Lati that still needs shoes.

 

Awwww... those are all very cute. My Mystic Haru Bat Child is most of the time dressed as the dormouse from Alice in Wonderland because he looks so sleepy:

Speaking of photos - Isadora and Dandy both got their shoes in the mail this week, and they're very proud of them. Of course their new friend Bluebell does not need any shoes...



Bluebell is a Belle on a Kenta body, and she's the latest addition to the family.

 

I've just bought one of the newer version of the yellow SP model, school Ella, and whilst I wait for her to arrive, I wondered of anyone had photos the SP dolls. I hear their shoe size can be tricky, so any tips for clothing would also be appreciated. Thank you.

 

Here are all my Lati SP Yellows (together with Eggie). I'm not giving exact measurements because these are old ones, and the newer ones may be a bit different size.

Does anyone know which famous painting the Pia event head was based on for the museum series?

 

I don't think the Pia animal pic is associated with any painting (like the others are). Just my opinion.

I have had this little one for years and last summer I gave her a fresh face up but she had to wait a whole year for me to finish this little outfit...

I bought Latidoll Yellow Milk and I think it came in one month. I was shocked. She was only on sale for a few days. There are now other dolls with the Milk name.

 

Wow! I think when I was buying them (years ago) sometimes it would take about 9 months. Now you are tempting me I only have a little group but I still really enjoy them - and they don't take up much space!

I absolutely adore her outfit and everything about her ❤️

 

So pretty. And, I love all of the purples surrounding her, to make those eyes pop. I cannot tell if the pet has the same color eyes or darker.

 

The rabbit eyes are a different shade, Lara’s look more blue but they have purple in them

Hi, please don’t get upset with me, I’m not trying to break any rules I’m just looking for help. I just was diagnosed with pretty serious health problems and do not have the time or mental capacity to look around the internet for help with this. I’m pretty much selling all of my Latidoll collection because if something happens to me I know my family will not know what to do with them. What’s the best place to sell dolls online? Specifically latis which is what is have for the most part. If I get in trouble for asking this that’s the least of my problems honestly, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
