This thread was createad for me to try and test some DIYs I found online to see how easy and possible they actually were, but I realized I end up doing so many changes in every project that I will just change the whole propose. Wig The first time I posted I was trying a poseable wig by AkameruKawaii on youtube, but after trying two times I realized glued wigs are no for me cause I feel to anxious about it. I made some research on sewed wigs, and realized that even better would be a ventilated wig, so thats my next project! I'm not gonna follow any specific tutorial, so wish me lucky doing such a thing for a tiny like pukipuki. [UPDATE] Ventilated wig was not a sucess, but not a fail either. Next time I'm doing with human hair! Room box
DIY VENTILATED WIG Tutorial [wig cap // knot // tip // tear repair] | Modifications: I cant knot like its supposed to be, so I'm doing it manually. | Start project day: 22/06/2019 | Tips: 1 Use a good fiber or no fancy tecniche will make it look good. 2 Since pukipuki is so smaill use a big piece of lace and tie on it's feet to hold in place while you work at it, a smaller one make it harder to work with the end lines. Material: Kanekalon fiber (someone used it for a bjd wig and I loved how it doesnt look like too much in a doll). French Lace (you are supposed to use swiss lace instead, but I couldnt find it in my country for the sake of my life, so french it will be). Ventilation Needle. Progress: DX 28/07/2019 - Totally forgot this journal x_x' Spoiler The process is going well, in the start I made some tears so I plan to repair it when I finish knoting hair. DX 29/07/2019 - I will take it for finished, I guess big part of why I don't like its the material, so next time I'm doing a human hair one agai. Spoiler DX 30/07/2019 - Gave it a better cut and put some curly humair hair finishers (cause thats what I have), I don't even know how its called in english.
Thank you for the company in this project! I'm currently glueing the hair to the wig cap, and my short experience tells me: Go for the non-stylable wig! Unless you really want the stylable wig, making more than one wig with different hairstyles is probable easier than making one styleable. I mean, I never did one before, but seeing the tutorials, working with the wefts seem a lot less time consuming. Also, I'm worried about the wig durability, since its glued by only the tip it probably wont last many years. I thought about doing a sewn wig before - at the time I don't even knew about glued wigs, but I heard the glued one was better for the tinies and when my doll arrived I noticed her wigs are glued so I thought "that must be right"... Now that the durability came to my mind, I'm thing for doing a sewn one too anyway and see for myself.
Thank you for sharing! I think that ventilated wig looks better for such a small head. I’m going to do it. I think a larger wig would be tedious. I want a wig that can be styled too.
DIY VENTILATED WIG 2 Tutorial [wig cap // knot // tip // tear repair] | Modifications: I cant knot like its supposed to be, so I'm doing it manually. | Start project day: somewhere in 2020 | Tips: 1 Use a good fiber or no fancy tecniche will make it look good. 2 Since pukipuki is so smaill use a big piece of lace and tie on it's feet to hold in place while you work at it, a smaller one make it harder to work with the end lines. Material: Human hair (last time the fiber sucked, so now I decided to not waist time with weird fibers and try the real deal already). French Lace (you are supposed to use swiss lace instead, but I couldnt find it in my country for the sake of my life, so french it will be). Ventilation Needle. Progress: 042421 - Let's Continue I had lost my doll, and also the hair I was using, after finally finding both I am ready to continue this project. Spoiler 042721 - Some demarcation Spoiler
DIORAMA ROOM Tutorial [none yet] | Modifications: none yet. | Start project day: 2/05/2021 Material: Doll house or Wood Semibox.
