No, no, IH said they are sending via UPS, they knew how UPS works and should have both numbers for Korea and International procedures. They might be doing a lot of processes manually, so not able to keep all the information and numbers in say, CRM system for a quick response and smooth communication.
Oh I see. Yeah. Extra work especially considering you may be one of many inquiries may be the reason.
I have been continually checking this thread hoping that everyone is getting their dolls, but it seems to be more folks having issues than sharing arrival stories. I am again joining the waiting cohort as I've taken the plunge to order a SID Dean. Hoping that he gets here before the end of the year, but setting my expectations for sometime in 2021. I selected EMS Premium during checkout. Not sure if that will do anything or matter come shipping time months down the line, but current state has definitely influenced me.
Dean is gorgeous! Hopefully IH will acknowledge that things have changed and get a new optimal order-delivery schedule quickly!
Oh another Dean out there I adore mine Good dolly news my Caleb came today, and is perfect and as ordered model body and the extra robot arm. Which as IH says doesn't fit the model body well, but I got it for hybreeding reasons anyway, and Caleb has his normal arms. Tomorrow I will try and find him a good wig and nice eyes and maybe get a pic of him fully dressed to share. Now I am just waiting on my Noels and then maybe if I save enough will get myself a vampire Grace.
Just to add a bit more of the adventure to my lot. Our local UPS delivery guy buzzed the intercom and run away. I do admit my partner and I are not the most gorgeous people on these shores, but that's the first time someone runs from us at that speed. So when both of us jumped out of the house he has disappeared like a fart on the wind. Call centre was not helpful at all and told us to be at home Good thing, I have registered for text alerts from UPS on that Korean site (!), so got info that delivery man has dropped it in the local parcel hub. We got into the car and brought Yur home. As DoA does not accept pictures from me, all the box opening is on BJD Addicts on FB. Finally. Too tired of it to be excited. Will try to get excited a bit later, I guess...
@Dunpeald OMG! I am so happy that she is finally home! Some of the couriers can be so dodgy that way, it is so annoying.
Thank you! True! I know that guy and we have talked before, and he knows I am waiting for a parcel from him, the regular neighborhood relationships, you know. And yet... But at least she is finally here.
Yay! I realized last night that the shipping process is so traumatic that my joy is not arrivals but that things have shipped at all. That someone taking my money still remembers me. I used to be so happy when things arrived but now I'm relieved. Not the same! I'm not sure my words are getting across.
I'd just like to add some good news. My FID Aaliyah arrived on July 2nd, so almost exactly 5 months from ordering to delivery. I think that she's fantastic and well worth the wait. I'll post a pic once I'm able to take her outside without getting eaten by mosquitoes. Oh the joys of Manitoba in the summer lol.
I messaged Iplehouse about the status of my order to find out they haven't even started making her yet! I have been waiting about four months so far, so I'm a little bit miffed. I know the pandemic is delaying everything but it is annoying to find out that they haven't even started working on her. This has been the longest I've had to wait from Iplehouse so far...
Wow! This is surprising to me. I’ve never ordered from Iplehouse until now, but I was under the impression they started working on the dolls shortly after you placed your order based on what they had said to me and how you couldn’t modify your order afterwards. This makes me nervous for a double the length wait now, lol. What was the “expected by” date they gave you?
When I ordered my FID dolls last month, I made a post and asked if they had received my payment and also asked for an estimated date. They told me October to mid-November. So the usual seems to be 4-5 months. The person who responded to me told me when I initially placed my order that they’d start production on my dolls *very soon*. So, I figured it would at least be within the payment month; 3-4 weeks, give or take.
IH "used to" start within 3 business days of your order being placed. But they started having problems with layaway orders not being completed. It was worst when it was with an extremely custom face up. So they stopped that. Now they wait until payment is complete. ESPECIALLY in high order time. Sometimes in low order volume on a basic doll an order is added into the que right away. I also suspect that clients who have a good record might be added right away... but that part is just me guessing.
That's fair. I can't imagine starting all the work they put into one doll only to have a buyer cancel their order.
@Kaname Kimura was yours on layaway? I paid in full, I wonder if I should post a message asking for an estimated order completion date.
@Sirens4Ever They said she would be ready next month, I'm not sure if I believe them though. @skyealloway It was a doll choice, so I paid in full. I would definitely ask them for an estimated completion date. I'm just really disappointed in them. I wish they had posted a news notice informing everyone of the delays.
@Kaname Kimura That's upsetting(( When I have ordered late December, and asked what's the approximate date they told me they won't start it until march, which they did. Not quite sure what's happening there, but I hope they will get their stuff together and do a better job. Hopefully they do finish your doll within a month.
@Dunpeald I just wish they made a news notice about the delays, then I wouldn't have worried nor bother them by asking about my order before it was ready. It may be my pessimism speaking, but I don't think she'll be ready next month.
Oh dear, I haven’t checked out this waiting room before ordering an SID Dean on Sunday. ;o so it is going to be a 4-5 month wait? Crossing my fingers they will be healthy and back on production schedule during these trying times...
@Kaname Kimura I was ready to offer them some professional volunteering in communication, but my friends who work for Korean companies kindly asked not to But oh well, I am here if assistance is required, I hate bad/insufficient client service and communication, it is a massive trigger for me. Hopefully things will calm down, EMS will deal with their parcels backlog and IH - with their approach to clients.
WOW that's 3 months of waiting on essentially nothing, then the actual wait on the doll for at least another 2-3 months after that. You must have the patience of a saint! I was super excited to get my first Iplehouse doll but now I'm starting to get reallllllyyyy antsy about my order, especially since I found out there's a possibility of me moving to another state in the next few months. I might notify them to change the delivery address to my brother's house since I know he's not going anywhere Will they allow that before shipping? I'm considering asking Iple for an estimate on when my doll will be ready, or if they've even started, but I feel like I already pestered them enough with questions on my payments & making sure they got it when I paid my layaway off a month early I placed the order early May and completed my layaway in early June, so maybe they'll like me so much for paying off early & only having one doll with no faceup in the order they'll bump me up in the working queue I highly doubt it, but a girl can dream
Due to the fact that Iplehouse haven't started making my doll; I was able to add Camilla's Engineer outfit to my order, which wasn't available at the time when I ordered through doll choice. It will definitely make the waiting a bit easier.
@kaboomkim Unfortunately I have zero patience and asked them about their plans and progress every month for that seven month waiting period)) Kindly and politely with communication improvements they could use in their work, but regularly. I think they won't listen to me re comms improvements though. If I had a lay-away I would have asked after the last payment about the planned completion date and delivery address change. It is important for you to know their schedule as you have your life plans as well, right? @Kaname Kimura That's the right attitude! Delays mean opportunities! But they are starting to annoy clients with poor communication...
@Dunpeald Oh you recieved your Iple girl?!! Big congratulations to you! I hope she is everything you wished for
@Lotte Rotten I did, last week, i think, or so. Done and posted my first box opening images, but on FB BJD Addicts. Body is very interesting to study, but somehow I was a bit disappointed. Possibly because of the tiring process of getting her here. Or it's just that I find IH dolls more attractive on pictures. No idea.(((
@Dunpeald Sad to hear you were disappointed. It sounds like it was just a bit underwhelming of an arrival. After all that waiting, you would hope the doll is the best one you've ever owned. I hope you find your girl more attractive in person soon! I went ahead and asked them about the status of my Owen. They said he is in the middle of production and the expected shipping date is the end of September. It's honestly a relief to know that he's been started on since I finished the payment a month ago. However, considering the delays everyone else has been experiencing I'm going to set my expectations for a Mid-October shipping date, just to save myself some potential disappointment.
@kaboomkim May I ask when you ordered? If your doll is mid production and due to be shipped out in September, I wonder why they said my doll would be sent out next month and they haven't even started making her yet.
@Dunpeald I'm so glad your doll arrived safely- but sad to hear that you're a little bit disappointed. I'm hoping that once you get to spend more time with your girl (styling her and taking photos etc etc), then hopefully you will start to fully enjoy her :3
@Kaname Kimura I started a layaway on May 8 and paid it off early with the last payment day on June 8, so I guess they started a little bit after that. Seems like they have a really strange working queue? I don't want to accuse them of lying to anybody about the status of their order like... what would they stand to gain from that? It's all very strange. I certainly hope you do see your doll sooner rather than later!
From my understanding they do dolls in batches by color and/or mold/size, so like one batch is all the peach skin orders of a month, next normal. There use to be a post on their site years ago about their process and what slows it down, but I'm not sure where to even look for that now of days.
@kaboomkim Thanks for letting me know. I have a sneaking suspicion that they forgot my order, that is probably why they let me add an outfit to my order.
I just assumed it'd be sometime in October when I ordered mine at the beginning of April so I'm nowhere near antsy yet. I guess I could poke them for an update, I really should contact them anyway since I managed to spell gmail wrong when I signed up, see if they can fix it since you can't edit it yourself. But she's a dark resin color with a faceup from an older limited version(of the same sculpt at least) so I'm expecting plenty of lead time due to the resin color.
My FID order from February was finally shipped this week. So both my EID from January and this order took five months roughly until they got shipped. My FID last year took nearly three months as well, but I generally had the feeling FIDs are a little slower because they do ordering periods for them and seem to do them always in batches. All my dolls were always paid in full, no CDS, and blank. I think they generally with their last event and covid are struggling to keep up with the demand. When I asked them about my orders they also often told me "next month" and nothing happened
Oh my gosh I also ordered a dark resin color gal with the faceup of an older limited version- Fid Aaliyah with the faceup of EID Aaliyah.
I ordered my FID Isobel on the 4th of April, and due to COVID I put her out of my mind as I imagined it would be a long wait. A couple of days ago she suddenly popped into my mind and thought maybe I will message Iplehouse... but then the next day I got an email saying she had shipped out! Spooky! So it's been over 3 months. My other two FIDs each took a month, with face-ups. She has no face-up because I just got her for her athletic body for my Harace. I hadn't seen an Isobel in person so chose her head. Hope I don't fall in love with her, I have three FID ladies already
Oh, My... Congratulations! Let it arrive quickly. You make me happy because I am waiting for FID Mary. I'd ordered her on the 15 of April. So I will probably have my letter of "happiness" soon.
@Ara yay congrats! Hope you share arrival pics @Kaname Kimura no problem, I do hope you see your doll soon. From what you’ve shared, I think your suspicion might be right. It would make sense that with covid putting them off schedule, some things got mixed up or lost..
Isabel arrived today! I wanted to ask - has anyone noticed a resin change? Mine feels very toothy compared to my other Iplehouse dolls. It's like the whole doll needs sanding, it is smooth in some places where the seams were, but overall it feels very chalky. Wondered if anyone else has noticed something similar?
To be honest, Iplehouse always felt very chalky and toothy to me. Especially the brown tan dolls I had were like that. Only exceptions was when they had those sanded and polished spots. The only one that didn't feel like that was my glow resin Lawrence, he's very soft and smooth.
Good to know, thanks! My previous two Iplehouse FID ladies must have been smooth flukes. There is a toothiness to them, but not as much as the new one. That's good to know that it's nothing to worry about, as I was a bit worried that there was something wrong with the resin.
Just one very important thing I absolutely need to say here! IP community is the best! You have been so kind and caring You have explained, supported, answered all questions, offered some really good advice! Thank you so much for being there!
I asked, as a first time Iplehouse customer, when they normally start production on their dolls for those paying via layaway. I currently have three FID dolls on layaway, all of which are 2/3 paid. They told me that they normally start after the second payment has gone through, for both the three month layaway period and the two month layaway period.
Hi all. I only recently entered the Iplehouse game and have been quite impressed thus far. I have an FID Mari and two SID Ashanti's; one in the old dark brown and one in special real. I ordered two benny's during this month's doll choice. One was the standard version and the other was the doll choice in the dark brown. I requested the JID Amy Make Up A type. It is reassuring to hear everyone's shipping timeline with the current shipping situation. I only ordered mine on 11 July so I will be here for a while. LOL. Hope everyone is doing well.
Hi Everyone!!! I ordered three Iplehouse HID during this month’s choice system! Bella (Peach), Dylan (grey skin) and Leon (real) ! I ordered them on July 1 and I’m so excited haha! I’ll be here for a while and I’m still learning about these dolls I love how realistic they look!
I ordered my blank FID Bichun, I finished paying him off I should say, around 05 June and was told to expect him to ship in early Sept. Shipping notice was sitting in my inbox this morning, when I woke up. Now, I'm a bundle of excitement but also hesitation, thinking there might be some mistake. Dolls ship early, but my B wasn't expected to ship until September. I was expecting him to rock up in time for my birthday in late September, due to Covid-19...
@ivorysand You are very lucky! I could only hope that would happen to me! hopefully my doll will be ready in August..
@Kaname Kimura I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, while also for me and my boy. I'm hoping he doesn't get caught up in the postal system and that he's right. I'm also kind of just waiting for a correction from Iplehouse, like "Oops, wrong order, yours is actually still in production". It's a rarity, as I don't order many dolls, for one to ship so far ahead of schedule, in these trying times, that I can't help feeling a little anxious.
Try to relax! Sometimes Iple can/will surprise you Last May, I ordered a DC doll with makeup, and it was shipped 3 weeks later! There was nothing wrong with her. I too, was thinking your same exact thoughts. It could be someone cancelled an order of the same sculpt/skintone that you ordered and thats why it's coming to ya fast. I'm waiting on an order from March, I was told early August for shipment. I ordered a doll in May (waiting) I ordered a doll in June (waiting)
Congrats to everyone getting their dolls so fast! I guess maybe the FIDs are faster to make? All the people I've seen saying theirs are on the way that ordered after me have mentioned FIDs. XD;
I now have another 'concern'. So, is there anyone from the UK, who can clarify a couple of things? 1) Are FIDs snagged by customs and held to ransom? 2) If so, how much is it usually?
