I can see the similarity too, so it had crossed my mind, but more like what we would imagine her to look like young. Not an IRL young Nicole, she looked entirely different back then.

OMG! I don't know if that Nicole Kidman photo is funny or scary! Maybe both.

 

@Xanadu Dolls lol! She could also be a young Rania. I can never decide if Vera is inspired by Nicole Kidman or Taylor Swift.
Anyway back to KIDs - my Paige in (RS F/U B) arrived yesterday, and I have a Box Open and a couple of outfit snaps so far, no vid this time as my toddler is a photobomber: Iplehouse KID Paige Box Opening

Your Paige looks really quite different with the dark wig.

Yes, I do, but I haven't done her face up yet. I've been busy with other things, so she's still sitting here starkas!

 

My Bambi arrived on Monday and yesterday I got her wig too! She's lovely! She's still blank, I have four dolls in need of a face up now, but when my faceup artist (aka, my sister) has time, the weather sucks, and when the weather is good, she's busy as hel XD...

But she's so cute anyway!

@Enid Black - Your Bambi looks sweet even without a face-up.

I don't know why Iplehouse says the BID wigs fit KIDs, because I find them all too snug. I find it easier to use 6-7 wigs from other companies. Stretchy wigs like Monique Gold fit well. They're made of softer fibers than the Iplehouse wigs and you don't have to stretch them out of shape to make them fit.

 

Thing is, it's not even an Iple's wig XD. I bought it on Ebay (from a seller I've already bought wigs from and I think they're great)...

In the end it fit, and I think it'll stretch fine like this. I love it on her.

 

OMG!! I got my Irene!!! She's so pretty!!! I tried to get an outfit together for her but it wasn't easy!! OMG!!! But hopefully she turned out not to too uggo... This isn't really what I want her to look like either. I'd like to get some more fairy kei looking street wear for her but don't quite know where to start...

I'll be cross posting this.... I know Cheery Doll makes clothing for the EID/SID and nYID's squeak in too but does anyone know if JID's (middle size bust), KID's or BID's fit their other sizes? I don't know the dolls they typically use. I would so love some of the new stuff for the little ones! Help?

 

She's absolutely gorgeous! I think she'll look super cute in fairy kei style clothing. It'll definitely be tricky to find some that fits her size, I think, but it'll be worth it!

 

I have found ONE person on Etsy with KID size clothes and they are pretty cute!! So when I have some free funds I'm going to start building a wardrobe! (finger's crossed!)

I have just finished this outfit, modelled by Lonnie. Not sure if she will keep it though, as I prefer her in pinks and lilacs.

I'm curious, has anyone every done a hybrid with a KID body and an MSD head?

 

you mean other companies? some KID/JID swaps work well ... some are okay because heads seem too big or small I know there were pics some where of some. If you had any in particular in mind ask and you might get lucky... resins are a pain to match with other companies though. And when we get them we need to post to the Head Swap thread (for iples) Seems only the big dolls in there so far.

Weeellll I was thinking I'd maybe try to get a head from Withdoll for the body. But I'd totally be down for getting a JID head. I saw that Iple has a custom doll choice thing (IPLE BJD) where you can choose a body and a head that would fit that body. Looks like they aren't offering this option currently but I'll keep my eyes on the site. Only thing about that is that the KID bodies don't offer and option for any of the head sculpts I like. (Namely Owen.) If they open up the option again soon I'll ask if it's possible that they could offer more boy JID sculpts.

 

I've tried getting a JID Soa head on a KID body, and it didn't look right in my opinion, so I ended up getting her a JID body. But since a picture is worth a thousand words, and I just happened to have a KID boy, and Owen standing around, I switched heads and took a picture. Meet KID Owen. Mr. Bobblehead extraordinaire!

Omg this picture is priceless XD I think it might look a little less weird if the head hadn't had a beard, (which actually looks amazing) The size looks about right tho. A fraction of me is convinced I just need to sculpt my own doll but that would absolutely take FOREVER! I really like the KID body tho. So far, it looks like the best posing body I've looked at in that size range.

 

@Xanadu Dolls - Your Irene looks so grown up in that outfit. Love the dress! That's not from Iplehouse, is it? I don't remember seeing anything like that on their site. Love it!

Thank you so much. I designed and made her outfit myself. Irene was one doll that I knew exactly how I wanted her to look before I even brought her home. The only thing I'm disappointed with are her shoes, I really need to find the perfect style as it really bugs me.

Can't quite remember if the wig was an IH or a Monique, but I love it on her. I'm pleased you like it too, thank you.

(My mother's middle name is Veronica and I have always intended to use it for someone...) I didn't expect to get a Paige just now...but found her for sale and couldn't pass her up.

Thanks! I thought I'd try some old Barbie costumes I made way back when I was in high school for a historic fashions project. They don't fit well, but are good enough for a couple of pictures. I managed to get Peach into Elizabeth's Armada gown....

 

Oh my, she is perfect! I am sure I will need a Paige one day too. That smirk of hers is so unique. I can already see my future Paige in loose tomboy clothes and with a baseball cap, smirking mischievously ;-)
And btw, I LOVE your girl's hair colour!

 

Those are gorgeous. You made them in high school? So you were just born with all that talent. I should have known.

 

Maybe, but they are a mess on the inside, so my sewing has definitely improved over the years.

*PS - DOA is having a problem linking to photos, so mine are constantly popping in and out. One time they are there, the next they are all gone again. Just a heads up to why there are so many broken links everywhere.

@Airike- Thanks! I took a chance on that wig and it will work really well for her. Paige does have such a cute expression. She's hard to resist. I think mine has tomboy tendencies herself.

I am lusting after Paige since she was released but I want to use her as an adult dwarf too be the wife for my Unoa Chibi dwarf lady but atm I am still not sure... ideally I'd hybrid Paige with a different body cause she feels a bit bobble headed on the KID for me but since getting s.o. for a split when you don't take the body is mildly impossible I've resigned to accept the KID body and just hope dressing her like an adult might help x'D

 

Oh, could I ask for some nude shots? The Nine9Style body I didn't have on mind at all!

do you think any of the Bunny 9 dresses would fit the iple body? even on a BID some would be nice.

The green dress is fairly loose, especially around the waist. The Bunny9 skirts and dresses do tend to be short,more like mid thigh. Non of this knee length or calf lenght stuff.

 

Just wanted to share a picture of my Lonnie. It was a small outing, but it was nice to take her out for a bit.

Does anyone have a boy Alice? I've been thinking about getting a boy KID, but I'm really at my limit on dolls. So, I thought about making my Alice a boy. Not sure if that is going to fit the sculpt well, though.She already has face up B, but I don't have any good wigs for boys to experiment with.
