Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 8

I'm crossposting this from the Raccoon Doll thread:
Hey guys, sorry to barge in here like that but I got a question.
For a project with two male characters I started looking into fashion sized minis, I have zero experience with smaller dolls though and had no luck finding an answer so far.

I just wanted to know if it's possible to put a male Iple FID head (Leonard specifically) onto the male Raccoon body?
I want a full FID for the other guy already and love the Iple faces, but I need some height difference between them. The normal skin is somewhat matching/easy to match and the overall measurements are close. Unfortunately Iples tend to have an odd neck shape which makes it difficult to hybrid them, and I worry if it's the case for their FID size as well. Raccoon's shoulders are also a bit slimmer.

Anybody can tell me how well such a hybrid would work? Thanks

 

@Ara - I've seen a Iple FID Lawrence on a male Raccoon body and it looked fine...good even. JinCincy has it.

New to me, Lawrence. This handsome fellow is borrowing wigs while his wigs are in transit. My plan was I need only one guy, but of course, planning for the next one begins moments after the first one has arrived. I then thought maybe two, one in each body type. We all know the slippery slope I am now on!

@LaurieESW - He looks great! I really like the wig he's wearing, borrowed or not. Can't wait to see what you've ordered for his very own. Love the sweater, too. Will he get to keep it?

Planning for the next one...and the next one...is how I ended up with 5 FID guys. And I still haven't managed to order one with the slim body.

 

@LaurieESW I love his faceup! Lawrence has such a versatile face.

LOL, yep I think my guy FID list will be as long as my girl FID list.

Thank you so much for allowing this handsome fellow to come live with us! I really like this wig color. Yes, this will be his sweater. It was a test of the Design by Jude's pattern. There were a couple of areas in the instructions I was not quite sure what was meant but did what I thought would work. I still want Rex but probably on the same body. I do not see him as being a slim bodied guy. I was thinking maybe Edan or Oscar for the Model body.

 

@LaurieESW - I haven't bought that pattern yet, but I intend to. Does it call for a sweater knit? Those are sometimes very hard to find around here. Once in a while I encounter a mystifying pattern instruction, too. Following my instincts usually works. I'm considering Oscar for the Model body, or maybe Ron. I wanted Dane, but somehow the Muscle body suits him.

 

He looks awesome. The faceup was a good call for the skintone

How often Iplehouse sale their FID line? Everytime I check they are sold out, and with the sign "coming soon" I would appreciate the help so I won't miss the order period. Thank you in advance for the help

 

The next order period should be April. They open ordering every other month, so February, April, June, August, October, December.
I'm planning to order another one when they open up again. So excited. It's new doll season after all!

@sidroq Your girls look very pretty! The pinkish hair suits your Carina real well. Is that an Iple cat? The size looks perfect for the FIDs. They just released a Fennec in the same size today, which would make a cool pet then.

 

Aaa they look great! Do you min if I ask what the size of that particular cat is (I have been trying to decide what size to save up for to go with my FIDs).

Thank you! The wig is a new Iple one, in the "rose gold" color. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it looks...though I'm not sure which of my many girls will get it permanently yet. My Aaliyah and Raccoon Emma are in the running. ^_^ The cat is from Eve Studio! Iple's are adorable but not as poseable, i think. Eve Studio cats are ridiculously poseable. I also reccommend checking out WalloyaMorning--I bought a kitten from them recently and it's delightful!

Thank you! She's 6cm. It works well for the British mold since they are kind of short and stocky. For the Oriental mold I think 7cm might be better. I think she's more expensive than some of my human dolls, LMAO...but worth it!

 

I asked if they would be doing new characters in April and they said yes, they'd be releasing Doria as an FID!! She's gonna need to go on my wishlist definitely.

 

I had to search Doria on their website because I didn't remember her. After looking at the photos, I still don't remember her. (Must be getting old.) Did they mention any male sculpts?

 

Nope, they only said Doria, so probably just one new one this month unless they're keeping secrets.

omg my first FID's could be arriving.... TOMORROW! I was expecting Monday because of when it shipped!... i think the just flew over and dropped it directly into customs lol. I need to clear a space for them and a spot to open them lol... so not ready.

Thank you everyone! I used to stay away from bright sunlight, but am getting better at taking doll photos in it.

No Lady Tiku, those are not real flowers. If you look closely on the left, you can see the florist tape holding the flower stems onto the real branches. It's still two months before we get any real blossoms.

Extra blurry vision lately so nope I sure can't see that lol and I don't take stuff for granted anymore... if our apple tree could go into full blossom in February one year I will believe it can happen anywhere at any time LOL... (and that's literally the middle of Alberta). XD


As for my own new kids. Harace may have to grow on me... I feel luke warm to her but I knew this was possible. I'll try some other wigs too. Is it just me or are the wigs insanely softer now? I need to check the pages again to see if it was a mohair lol. And Dane is 'a lot' darker in person than I expected. He is my first LB doll ever. But the ash blonde on him is nice and tones him down. So far all they have on is undies while I 'learn the bodies'.

Yes I took pics but I'm having issues getting pics "off" the camera and 'IN' my computer... Have to look for my card reader and see if 'that' works... muchly annoyed by this problem. Hopefully this weekend I can get it to work. I have full sets and limited outfits .... and can't bring myself to dress my dolls

@nancy_schroeder_ca Red was the only color in that size - and now he reminds me of Ron Weasley for some reason ^^ But since he is supposed to be an Irish man, red is okay!

 

Dane & Harace
I'm working on getting used to her... she was not a choice... she just got me the outfits I wanted lol.. But i am happy with Dane but need a good pair of eyes to double check something for me (not sure if what i see is a crack)... and boy you ain't kidding about wigs!... But here are my kids that arrived on Thursday.

They are both beautiful LadyTiku! Sometimes it just takes a while to get used to a doll, playing with eye colors and different wigs. I’m sure you’ll grow to love her when you find her “look”

Ooh, I am excited to see a Dane arrive! I've got mine on order, but it will still probably be a while before he gets here. Is he with the default face up? It looks good!

Also, I am very excited about Doria being the next sculpt released - can't wait to see her in this size! I've seen some absolutely beautiful owner pics of Doria in the larger size, so she was definitely on my wish list of sculpts I'd like to see (and possibly buy...one day) in FID. I wonder what face-up and styling they'll give her? I always look forward to seeing that!

Well, when eventually I get the money together to get an FID lady too, looks like there'll be lots of great sculpts to choose from! One good thing about being forced to wait, I guess!
