Thanks. It's his usual outfit that he always wears. Except I changed out his cloak for one without fur at the neck, and gave him a gold circlet.

They are all so handsome! You are such an artist. Did you make their wigs? What I wouldn’t give to have an outfit like that for one of my guys.

@mysticaldolldreams - Thanks. yes, I made all their wigs. In fact Lawrence and Jude both have second wigs in shorter styles. I do have the patterns for the Knight outfits in a Creative Journey on my website. No detailed step by step instructions, but probably still good enough for an experienced sewer - Lawrence & Baron's Creative Journey - Tutorials

 

That is kind of you, but I am not even a beginner sewer. I love love the blonde guy in the middle especially. Heart throb!!!!!

@MB Lilac I've been following the story of the King's death on your blog, but every time I see those pictures I discover a new detail I haven't noticed before. And your parking lot shot is just as fabulous.

 

@Ashemanu - Thanks. I'm at the part of my story where Baron is in modern times, which is definitely not normal for my FIDs. But I kind of like him in contemporary times. I don't have any contemporary FID clothes, but thankfully he can borrow stuff from my two JID guys - not that they have much either.
@ResinRapture - Thank you. That whole flashback section is one of my favourites. But now Baron is in the modern world.....

 

And obviously enjoying the sugary benefits of living in it. (I think the use of sugar was introduced to the general public in the early 19th century). Although him being royal would have put him in the position to enjoy such luxuries even before. Great picture, props and sweater. I love how you filled the visible table with other guests.

 

@ResinRapture - Thanks. I find that the background is often just as important as the foreground in photos, so set up an entire coffee shop in my OG Diner. I think he's going to be sampling a lot more fast food in upcoming photos. LOL Definitely not exactly a 'healthy' diet. But then it's just temporary.

 

This guy looks great in every era! Hopefully he isn’t planning to eat the entire box of doughnuts!!!

 

Probably not, since he seems to have discovered another take out joint he likes.... although it's only marginally better (?)

 

Yikes!!! Mickey Dees???? My girls would like to discuss nutrition with him. In person. One of my girls also requested he bring his blonde friend. . Lol.

Thank you so much too for the generous sharing of your beautiful clothes patterns in the previous link. They are all so gorgeous and inspiring, I think I am ready to take the first steps so some of my dolly crew can at last get some pretty clothes.

@Ashemanu - thank you. I'm really enjoying Baron in the modern world. Way more than I would have expected. I'm going to have to make some contemporary FID clothes so he (and the others) can visit more often.
@LilyAndRuby - Thank you. I'm glad you enjoy the photos...and the patterns. I'm hoping once I get to the end of the story I'm currently working on, I can take some time to add a few more patterns.

Well I just bought fid size miho on normal skin. Even if it's second hand and I never thought I will buy fid size but lots if people asking custom orders for fid size so I needed model and Instagram have good place to find things to buy.

 

I am looking forward to more photos...love all the realism you inject into your photos!

@ombre Yes of course! Her shoes are the Matt sized ones from He-Meife on Ebay. He has a bunch on offer right now They fit nicely on our FID girls.

 

Hi everyone, I have never posted on DOA before. Hope you don’t mind me posting a few FID questions here. I am ordering my first FID doll today, and I am really struggling to decide between Lahela and Isis (makeup A with the pink lips). I keep flip flopping between the two! Does anyone have pics of either that could help sway me. If I do not hurry up and decide, I worry that pre-ordering may close. What are the wait times currently like for Iplehouse? I am a terribly impatient person (not a good way for a BJD collector to be, I know). If I want to pierce my girl’s ears, do I go straight into the head (like vinyl dolls ie. Tonner), or do I drill from front of lobe to back like larger BJD’s? Lastly, has anyone ordered any FID clothes from Etsy seller ElenPrev? She makes she nice custom designs for Tonner and FR, and now appears to also do FID, but I have never actually seen any pics of her stuff on a FID.

 

@AnnC I don’t have either of these girls, but I can answer one question. You can request pierced ears (last I knew) for free. I would ask in Q&A (under the Support tab) right after ordering.

@AnnC This lovely lady has some of Elenpriv's clothing for her FIDs...if you scroll through her Flickr, she has a few pieces including some lovely one piece jumpsuits I believe and a navy double breasted short coat..

Iplehouse FID

I'd love to know what Iplehouse do as far as piercing ears on the FIDs. I pierced my Elle's ears with a very fine drill bit from a hobby store (Tamiya hand drill) but I didn't like the fact that the lobe was so tiny and didn't want to risk losing it so I drilled on an angle through the lobe into the head so that it's nice and sturdy with plenty of resin there. I need to do the others now too

 

This was my concern as well. I worry about breaking the earlobe off! I checked Iple’s site, and it does appear that they will pierce the ears for you. You just have to be sure to mention it after ordering on the support page. I decided to go with Isis. I am very excited.

@Ban Sidhe I always love seeing pictures of your girl! She looks so beautiful - and lifelike - and always has such wonderful clothes!

 

My MDF is a centaur so I can't do a full-body comparison, but I have a head comparison against my FID Yur. FIDs have a 5-6" head and this MDF is 6-7". To me the size difference is fairly noticeable in person, but it’s not as obvious in this photo. If you want other head or torso comparisons, let me know!

Baron's first contemporary shirt and sweater. He's still borrowing JID jeans since he only has tall boots so there's no point making him proper length pants until I can get him some other footwear.

 

Love this photo, Baron is handsome but the lovely peacock feather silk gown in the fabric is catching my eye

 

He looks cozy in his sweater! But I can't help but stare at all the details of the dressmaker's shop around him... beautiful as always.

 

@MB Lilac Your boy took the wrong room to sit in - all the attention goes to the beautiful dresses next to him

 

I love his new shirt and sweater! He looks great!

 

It's such a great shot-- the set feels so real around him and he looks very relaxed with the new sweater (gorgeous color on him) and reading a magazine.

 

Thank you all for your comments! I love this guy. He poses so well. Today Baron and his love are headed north for a short holiday. Hopefully there will be some photos when we get back.

I did finally manage to go to Parkwood Estate for some 'period photos' of Grace and Jude, who are now in the 18th century....

 

Lovely and so live photos of your beautiful doll. I still can't find time to make nice photos of my fid Miho. I call her Mia. For the first time I like msd size . Not so hard to make her clothes as I thought. Maybe in the future I will buy mini Stella as I have Stella in eid size. And I need to find bishun or edan just to be model for my shop.

 

Did anyone else see the coming soon teaser for a new fid lady on Instagram? It's a picture of a resin bull skull I think. My interest is piqued!

I buy almost all their clothes on etsy. PABADoll customizes most of their clothing. JeansbyJenna has alot jeans in their shop. StellasBoutiqueLT has some cool stuff. CityOfMastersStudio has beautiful knitwear. And there are others, just search for FID

I'm digging this warrior. I wish there were more pictures of the outfit and I'm unclear how the skull stays on her head but I'm happy to see another wonderful set for fid. OMG I just had a thought.... Do y'all think next there will be a viking fid man??

 

I love her too. OMG I hope they do a male Norsemen as well.

 

I started to sew fid size for my etsy shop. Will see how it will be going. So far I need to make proper photos and add everything to my etsy shop.
At the moment I have just one fid size doll miho.

 

@skyealloway - I think the skull is just sitting on her head, actually. Perhaps helped a bit by the braids. Though I suppose it's possible if the horns are held on by magnets they could be doing double duty.
Darn. I do love the (semi-) historical style dolls they've been doing and was hoping they'd do viking warriors too, but Nancy just isn't a sculpt I ever felt the need to own. They did a nice job on those freckles, though! Hmm.

 

@Sianserais I agree, Nancy doesn't particularly appeal to me. I own a Raccoondoll iris and Nancy's face seems similar, less harsh version of Iris. I try to have a lot of variety in my dolls.

That outfit thou....add baggy pants and I'm all about it! (Ive been meaning to sew some baggy pants anyway, my girls can hardly move, all the outfits are tight leather pants!)

Thank you to everyone who gave me tips on where to find FID clothes!! I've been looking thru etsy and have ordered a few things already. :-) Where do you guys get shoes as well? Do regular MSD shoes usually fit?
