Iplehouse Fashion Doll Discussion - Part 12

Oct 27, 2016

    1. Since they're arriving now, it's time to get to the nuts and bolts, or at least the pants and shirts - and shoes!

Please share the clothes you've found that fit (really fit, please, not just goes on) your FIDs.

So far, IH YID can work, depending on style & bosom size for the girls.
CED clothes fit, depending on style. A bit loose in the waist, tight on hips, but some fit very well.
Shoes for girls: Deeanna Denton 17" by Tonner supposedly fit, but they're sold with CED size which doesn't. Confusing.

Photos, photos, photos! We'd all love to see your FIDs in various outfits.

Mystic fashion size doll (please correct anything you find doesn't agree with your measurements & add what I've left out)

      Height = 43cm
Shoulders (from outer arms) = 10cm
Chest = (above nips, just under the arms) = 204mm
Waist (just above belly button) = 16cm
      Hips = 19cm
      Inseam = 24cm
      Arm = 132mm
Back (just above shoulderblades) = 8cm
Foot (botton heel to end of big toe) = 63mm
Foot Width at ball = 21mm
Top of Shoulder to Waist Front = 11cm
Top of Shoulder to Waist Back = 10cm

This man is built like Fred Astaire. If he stands sideways, he's a straight line (with his codpiece on) so I'm gauging the waist as just before a small swell to the hips.

Bermann Head = 13cm (head circumferences will differ depending on sculpt)

    2. I'm not sure if this counts, but my FID Lawrence should be arriving today or tomorrow. :D Once he does, I'll be drafting and tailoring a suit for him, and shoes as well. I plan to be opening an Etsy shop for fashion doll stuff, including the FID suit once I finish. :D

    3. Thanks for this! All my clothes fitting plans fell by the wayside yesterday, but I'm shooting for Sunday now. It's too bad that work gets in the way of my playtime!

Raffine is wearing a Tonner doll Hardy Boys trench coat and it fits perfectly, even the belt is at the right place at the waist!
Her shoes are off of Ebay, supposed to fit the American Model dolls, on her fashion high heel feet. The fit could be a little better, but not bad.

    6. so, basically, try everything on them! you never know what might fit. :aninja:

    7. Your Raffine looks lovely Sprocket! I bought some American Model doll shoes on eBay myself. I'm pretty sure she'll arrive before they do though.

    8. @luckeegurl36 , thank you! I bought two pairs of AM shoes but only one fit. The second pair was a pointy toed pair and was much too narrow.
      @petiteballerine , that's right, it's just a trial and error process.
I've been haunting Iplehouse daily just hoping for some new duds for my girls. Miho won't try anything on at all, insists Raffine be the guinea pig. She stole the trench coat already.

    9. Tonner Kitty Collier shoes fit the FID girls. Kingstate makes that size. I hope people will post pics here.

kingstate no longer makes kitty c. shoes.

    10. How are you drafting the pattern? By blocking method or a drape method??

    11. My Raffine and Stella wearing Souldoll Kid boots. Actually Raffine's top and jacket are also Souldoll Kid.

    12. Shanleigh stole my Vito Freya's default outfit. She's an Irish lass after all and I was pleased to see that it fit her quite nicely. Her purse is from Target.

Nik (Nicole) decided to watch the sunset and contemplate all she's grateful for.

    14. So far I am having success with clothing made for the CED dolls but I know not all items fit.

The lingerie that came with some of the basic dolls works very well.

I also bought some American Model shoes and they work well even though they are a bit long...

      FID Stella

I bought a couple of pairs of boots for Evangeline Ghastly and they won't go on as they are too narrow. My mistake as the listing was clearly for Evangeline only. However some sellers are offering shoes as fitting both and I'd be wary of buying those for our FID girls.

    15. a note about CED clothes: their arms are longer by quite a bit - a hand's length, so look for 3/4 sleeves or short/sleeveless tops.
the CED waists are smaller by a bit, but can have the snap moved if your CEDs don't get angry about it.
it's very hit and miss + sleight of hand with pins on most things.
pants aren't too bad. the length his good but again, small waist.

none of my Am Model shoes fit at all. way too long for my taste. about 1/4 inch at the heel left over. so, I'm relying on IH to offer shoes.

if you use the super high heels, they fill up the back of the Am Model but the toes don't go far into the shoe. not a good fit or look. some people have had luck with other Am Model versions, but think we should ask for more high heels made for our FIDs and offered separately. They have a space for FID-W shoes. I want more killer heels!

    16. Arvid arrived yesterday. With an IH wig I thought he might share with his girlfriend. No. It only fits her if it comes down low over her forehead. pops right off him.
so, not sure what the promo pics represent showing the guys with the same style wigs the girls are wearing. Maybe after stretching the heck out of it, it might work with a siicon cap.

Souldoll Vito pants do not fit due to the big bootay. but, tops can if you don't need to button/snap across the chest.
I only have one pair of Vito shoes: Roman sandals. They fit very well on big FID men's feet. room for lightweight socks, but I didn't snap them all the way up the calf so next ime he's barefoot I'll try that.

my advice: IH clothes are so beautifully made and fit to a "T" so buy whenever possible.

      :candycane:gingerbreadman:hollyberry

    17. I couldn't fit a silicon cap under Arvid's Iplehouse wigs if I tried. I have two of the short mohair ones that they show the guys wearing. I don't know which one you have. I wrap a rubber band twice around his headcap and it keeps the wig on once I finally get the things to stay on, but it takes work.

Not sure how useful this is, but DollHeart shoes meant for 60cm girls, even ones with narrow toe boxes, fit FID boys. I have no shoes for Arvid and was really tired of cutting off his feet for photos, so I dug out shoes I got in fukubukuros because it was better than nothing when he was wearing baggy pants anyway. So, I wouldn't buy any for that purpose, but if you have them lying around and need something, they work.

    18. Wow I am definitely interested in your progress on his suit and shoes and especially your Etsy shop!!

Your photo of you Miho is incredible! I love the lingerie--sorry to be so dense but is CED the name of the company or just the initials?

My Felix and Lawrence arrived last week, I noticed with their wigs--I have to really work them, stretch and stretch and stretch--and they fit great. So don't give up on them, just keep on stretching them out! And... There was no extra room for a wig cap with my guys either.

The trench coat looks really great on your Raffine, and the shoes look like a perfect fit. So, American Model shoes, and possibly Evangeline shoes. I was hoping my Ellowyne shoes would work, I have some really great ones, but sounds like they will be too small.

    19. google ced dolls.
there are newer resin ones but they're much smaller in the waist.
      doug james designed them.
fab clothes from quite a few years ago. some fit well & some fitted ones not so well.

    20. Congrats on your guy, and the wig looks great!

Thank you --just found the site.

    21. Does anyone know of any PATTERNS that fit the FIDs? I know nothing about fashion dolls or people who sew for them, so if anyone has tried any of the multitudinous patterns I see all over the place, can you post them here?

    22. [IMG]
My Arvid wearing Souldoll Vito jacket and tops. They fit him perfectly although not the pants. I've found that Souldoll KID girl stuff which is big on my Souldoll KID Aehael is still roomy on my FID girls although workable. The KID girl boots fit nicely though. Vito girl clothes (tops, dresses and skirts) will work too although again, they are a big roomy on the FID girls. Vito girl pants will probably not work as they've got a really big butt.

    23. shoes for men - perfect fit. I mean PERFECT. Soom Idealian 51cm. will add pic when there's some daylight.
(I can take a pic with studio lights but I need to see those teeny tiny laces to lace them properly.) :doh

    24. I did not find these links - I found them in the FID discussion thread and just cross-posted them here for anyone who wants them for quick reference.

From @morganatron In terms of what fits: the wig from Iplehouse is weirdly tight and wants to pop off her head, but my 5-6 Monique wigs (from Facets By Marcia) fit perfectly - probably because the wig cap has more stretch to it. I feel like she could maybe get away with wearing some 6-7 wigs, perhaps with a silicon wig cap.

None of my shoes fit her, with the surprising exception of a pair of boots for Tonner Matt O'Neil - he is a boy fashion doll! It's a tight fit though, her toes are pressed right up to the end, so I don't know if all shoes will fit. (This is for the flat feet). I got the boots from Facets By Marcia as well, here's a link - it's the Riding Boots in the "Matt" size: Facets by Marcia - Shoes for Male Fashion Dolls

Oval eyes seem to fit her eye shape best, I got my glass ones (the 6mm, although they have 8mm as well) from here: Items in Porcelain Dolls By ME store on eBay!
That's an Australian store, but I'm sure I've seen the same type in other places as well - maybe Denver Doll Emporium? Anyway, the 6mm fit well, for those wanting smaller eyes!

From @sidroq It really is a challenge, especially with Iplehouse offering so few options, but just in case you haven't seen these, here's a few places with 5-6 wigs to check out!

Monique wigs part 1 part 2, or full list on monique's website
      ForMyDoll
      Luts
      Crobidoll
Jpopdoll (some of these are Moniques)
      Leekeworld at Denver Doll

And if you're looking for something really special, but very expensive,
      Amadiz

From @vermont chick Here's another source for size 5-6 wigs: Wig Shop at Facets - Size 5/6 A - J . She carries Moniques, but some of the styles and/or colors are unique to Facets. Quite a few of them don't have fringes.

    25. I'm not sure if this was posted already, but I just found out that the flat shoes that where sold by Dale Rae for the Fairyland Minifee Girls are a perfect fit without socks on the flat feet of the FID woman. Now I am very spiteful that I did not get more of them while they where still available.....But maybe other shoes for Minifee girls will fit as well?

The two pair of Tonner male shoes from Facets by Marcia that I own did not fit. Maybe someone more handy might get it to work but I was afraid to harm the doll or shoes.

And the high heel slippers from Facets that my Chic line is wearing are way too small for the FID woman....

    26. One of my boys is wearing Dollmore's luxury shoe for Zaoll girls. It's a perfect fit and doesn't look girly at all. In fact, it looks somewhat mannish for Zaoll. It comes in brown and black. The black is currently sold out but they usually restock after a while. There is also a short boot available but I'm not sure it will fit--it's slightly shorter and narrower than the shoes.

I have bought a couple of patterns from Designs by Jude for Tonner's Mortimer Mort and Peter Pevensey. So far I've only made the shirt from the Dandy pattern, which I lengthened a bit in the torso to make sure it would stay tucked in, and a short version of the long vest. The shirtsleeves could have been a wee bit longer; vest was perfect. Not sure how well the pants will fit as I haven't made them yet.

There is a second part to the Wig Shop at Facets link shown in Sapahriel's post above. The wigs are separated alphabetically into two parts: A-J and K-Z.

    27. Shoes that fit:

for our guys, Soom Idealian 51cm. I have three different styles and they all fit perfectly.

the girls are a bit more difficult, but Kitty Collier is closest (no pic right now. I forgot. :arainclou ) where the heel feet are a nice fit. the best of everything I've tried (a bit better than the IH red shoes!)

Tonner American Model (pink with high heeled feet, silver/leopard with heeled feet)

The Am Model pointy old-time shoes are boats! way too big for the heeled feet, can work with high heeled feet but look really big.
as you can see, the pink shoes show a lot of toe and the arch of the foot is a bit too much, but these high heeled feet look a little better than the regular heeled feet.
the silver shoes make the foot look nicer by covering more of the toes & instep.

the fit is different with the regular heeled feet than with the high heeled feet. I'm glad I have both for each of my girls.

a note about ordering hands or feet extras - my latest girl is glow normal and is just the slightest bit darker than Arvid in the same resin. so, order your feet/hands at the same time as your doll to insure a match.

    28. Speaking of shoes, is anyone planning to get these: Black Oxford Shoes for Iplehouse FID, Soom Idealian 51, etc ?
I'm still not sure if I'm sticking with the FID line yet, I guess it'll depend on what Iplehouse releases next week. I'm tempted but also I don't want it to turn into one of these situations where it's an increasing pile of stuff that I try to convince whomever buys my FID to take as well. :XD:

    29. I'm tempted because the price is right (compared to Iple's price for oxfords) and they look like soft leather, but frankly I'm not in love with how long and pointed they are. I'd prefer a shoe that's slightly more rounded in front.

    30. Cissy and Kitty Collier shoes made by Kingstate.
notice how the high heeled foot looks a bit better (blue open toe shoe) than the heeled foot (pink open toe shoe.)
the heeled foot slides down a bit further and is a bit shorter.
the KC shoe fits beautifully (white pump) with the heeled foot.

    31. I'm really excited about these dolls. Looking at the measurements, the woman might be able to share outfits with the JID girl.
Maybe it's time for me to find out how to design patterns.:)

    32. These are from he-meife on Ebay and are American Model size. The feet are the high heeled feet which are slightly longer.

    33. Okay, I tried a couple things on my Medium Bust Raffine (Echo) since she got her new boots today.
Iplehouse JID Boy Leather Jacket: Fits pretty much how I expected it to, like she's wearing a boy's jacket. The sleeves are quite long which is kind of cute, so if you're looking for the boyfriend jacket look, this is a good one.
Iplehouse JID Girl Black Tank Top: This is really hard to get over her broad shoulders. Also, her hips are kind of big so it doesn't pull down as well as I'd like. . . I know this problem well from human clothing >___<. It fits, but not beautifully.
Tonner Matt combat boots from Ebay: Oh my gosh these fit gloriously. Obviously these go on the flat foot. They don't make her feet look huge or anything like the Kish chucks do.
She's also wearing the belt from the Black Nike set in this picture. It looks awesome on her. . . I'm borrowing some of my friend's JID clothes while I'm doing her doll's tattoos, so that's why I have all these things.. . and am now wanting most of them for myself >__< darnit.

    34. Miho wearing a gown by Robert Tonner for his plus-size model Emme (old body). I don't imagine there are many of these fashions floating around, but I happened to have one and it happened to fit. Unfortunately I uploaded the wrong pic--she's lost the top of her head in this one. Emme was a 16-inch doll, so the dress is shorter on Miho than it's designed to be.

    35. Your Arvid looks so great in this jacket and shirt by Souldoll. I did notice that Souldoll Vito girl shoes are about .5cm too long but still might work well--but I was most excited by the Souldoll KID girl shoes, which look like they might be a perfect fit. Now if they would just add more. I love the boots, so I hope to get some when the time is right. Have you checked LUTS? I believe they have MSD sized shoes that are the right length and width for FID girls. I am slowly collecting shoes, and outfit(s)--in the hopes that I will get the chance to buy Miho with her fullset or Raffine with her FS.....one can dream!

Wow! she looks great...the tights and boots look perfect--she is tough and chic. Very Very cool.

this dress looks really pretty on Miho. great find!

    36. Does any one know if Model Delf clothing would fit the boys? :)

    37. They don't. I used to have a Model Delf and they are much slimmer than an FID. I tried on both pants and tops with no luck.

    38. The Model Delf pants fit the Dollshe fashion boys so they are way too small for our FID men as @kadepie says.
some Souldoll Vito tops fit them.

    40. The crocheted boots HelenDollClothes on etsy sells for Minifee's fit the FID girl flat feet perfectly.

    41. I tried some of Dollmore's clothing for their Zaoll girls on my FID guys. Their KaMa pants fit (they come in either black or white). The Dual Pants (jeans style, available in both camel and blue) are longer but work if you roll up the hem. The Myosotis T shirt also fits (available in black or white), although getting the sleeves on over the hands was a bit of a struggle and the shirt body is long. I'll take photos when it stops raining. It's too dark at the moment.

    42. My FID can wear some of the Tonner 19 inch boy items but it is hit or miss. Stretchy pants and shirts fit well. The shoes were too small. I know that Chewingallapa makes custom hard cap wigs, underwear, jeans, shirts and a fully lined and tailored suit for FID boys. Each of these is under 100 USD each and the fit and style are pretty nice. They also sell hardcap wigs for FID girls.

    46. Thanks! I found it. It's gorgeous stuff!

    47. That is the nicest underwear I have seen & it seems to fit so well..did you make it?

    48. Thanks Sapphire7 - I had to check to see which set she had on as in this case, no, I didn't. This set was one that the basic CED dolls came dressed in a few years back now and they do fit really well. They are made from lace and elastic so they form well to the bodies. The sets came in black, pale pink and pale blue and lilac I believe but I can't even remember now which doll each set came on.

Coincidentally I have also been making some lingerie for my girls but they are constructed very differently with no elastic so they are fitted to each doll type. These dolls have such beautifully sculpted bodies its nice to see them in lingerie :)

    49. Oh my goodness are those all your dolls..I love them..so elegant & the things they are wearing are just fab...did you make their outfits? Love how you make the lingerie because they fit perfectly to the body..a lot of those you buy look terrible.(Well I think they do) Are all your dolls Iple dolls or a mix..love the high shoes & some of those wigs are just gorgeous..I love puffy wigs they look more sexy & I dont really like using that word...All in all I love everything about your dolls.

Oh the pic just came up with the doll in her lingerie...nice...I loved those emerald coloured ones.

      Cheery Theresa

    50. Hi Theresa - most of my recent photos are Iplehouse FIDs and some of Raccoon Dolls too. If you look at the tags I try to remember to label them...or of course you can go to the albums to see all of one type of doll :) I think there's some resin fashion dolls among them too on the photostream.

The high shoes come from Ebay sellers - he-meife and Guo5158 and they are sized for Tonner American Models. My FIDs have the high heeled feet (they are a little longer than the regular heeled feet.)

Most of the wigs are Monique except I have used some Formydoll ones too. I love big hair too :)

Thank you so much for your kind comments! :) Glad you enjoyed the photos!

    51. Holy heck, LyanneNZ! In that last pic of your girl, if the falling shirt sleeve was juuuust high enough to hide her elbow joint, we could think you'd photographed a real woman!

You + Iple + clothes + camera = AMAZING PHOTOS!

So I found a clothing seller on Facebook, of all places, who does FID women and offered to do men if I got her measurements. I asked her which measurements she needed and got them to her off of my Bichun. I then asked if she did custom things if I could show her detailed pics to help her understand exactly what I want and she said yes!

She's making it all now and I should have it in about a month. Obviously I'll show it all off once I've gotten it.

I can't link to her page directly as I'm using an app and not a browser but I can help folks find her. Her work looks gorgeous! She's also super-nice to talk to/work with.

Go to Facebook and in their search bar, search: leario style

You should get directed to the page LeaRio STYLE. Click that and browse. If you order something from her, tell her Hideto Koudanshi with the custom FID male clothes recommended her to you. I promised her I'd help spread the word since she seemed so nice and her clothes are so great!

I'm still mad at Iple for not releasing the FID male boots yet! I need biker boots for my boy! GRRR. >:(

Any other suggestions for how I can get black biker boots for my boy? I'd hate for him to have this awesome outfit and no dang shoes/boots. :P

LyanneNZ I loved your photos & as Bishounen_Hideto said you have to look twice sometimes to realise they are just dolls..your photography is spectacular..Im in awe of what some do with their dolls..Im loving just looking at things. Didnt realise you were in NZ Lyanne..Im from NZ as well...any suggestions how to find people who collect as Ive had no luck at all & sometimes it would be easier here than typing because of my arthritis..hurts a lot...lol.:)

    53. I'm really keen to see what your new things all look like when you get them!
I'd love some "biker boots" too for the guys. The only shoes my guys have are quite smart looking ones from He-Meife in Peter Pevensie size. I haven't checked to see if he has any new styles.

    54. @LyanneNZ where did you get all those amazing suits for your gals??

    55. I'll gladly post the outfit parts laid out flat and worn on my Bichun so folks can see for themselves.

The maker said it wouldn't be long now until she's done with my order. =)
