Thanks! Lol she already has three wigs but she NEEDS more of them. Someday I'll get her a black Monique short one, dunno the style yet, and a light pink one. She's so spoiled.

 

Artisticadelle, Ember rocks that look! I can totally see her as a hot Bond-girl with Alex posing as the agent himself ;-)

Concerning the wig sizes, I can totally see Eva is rather in the 7-8 dimensions. Evelyn could definitely do with a smaller wig, but I am not going to change hers. But Mayree would have a hard time squezing in 7-8 I bet. Her head is quite bigger and rounder than Eva's.
I wounder how will Rune's (Oscar) head do with the 8-9 wigs. I am screwed if it does not fit, I've ordered two for him, but in same size.

 

I bet a 7/8 would fit on Mayree, I managed to squeeze one of the wigs on Andy's head and he's got a bigger more round shape.
Also get a wig cap for the 8/9's. Alex uses a silicone one off of ebay and it makes them fit really well. This is if we're talking Monique wigs. If we're talking Iplehouse, I used a 7/8 silicone wig cap for Andy that just covers his head cap. Makes the wigs stay really well without giving them too much bulk.

 

I really, really should stop thinking about purchasing a Leonard..... Because if I don't stop thinking about how cool he is I might accidentally be tempted to buy one.... I wrote and asked iple about if he will be available after the event or not. Because it would be prefereable for me to save some cash first.

If he does become available in doll choice, is it much more expensive to buy dolls there than to buy them when they are availabe like during this event? It has porbably been answered befor but the search doesn't want to work for me.

 

If you order through Doll Choice, it's $50 and you can't use layaway, it has to be upfront.
If you order a standard doll or a limited doll, you can use layaway.
Oh, and if it's layaway, you don't receive any points.

JAS101 - as far as how much more expensive Doll Choice is... It's about $60 more than the basic doll. And I know that's true for KID and SIDM. I was debating just getting KID Bambi basic but I wanted to offer Bane/Cordelia stuff to others so I looked to see how much more she would be and it was $60. Vermont chick complained when SID Vincent went basic because she had JUST got him from DC and could have saved $60. So I assume it's around that price. But I can't guarantee on an EIDM. Hope this helps!

 

Wow...its risen to $60? Last time I checked it was $50! Or is my memory failing me again....?

 

It was $60 with KID Bambi and I'm almost positive Vermont chick said $60.... She might have said $65. O_o

Ouch... that difference in price will hurt the wallet for sure. Especielly since I only want a "basic" doll with no makeup or anything special or limited at all. Hm... I will have to think about it and try to figure out what to do. The exchange rate went up a lot last week as well so it's not a good time for doll purchases right now.

But at the same time I do have this beautiful wig which I bought only because it was cool which would certainly look wonderful on Leonard. Though it might be a bit difficult to justify a doll purchase with "well.. I do have a wig that would look nice on him" If Iple should by any chance happen to have a few extra limited Rex boots on DC it might be a lost case for me since those would certainly justify a doll purchase

Hey one more question anyone have any estimates on how much shipping would be of an SID to the US? Last time I ordered a doll I think it was $75-$80 for EMS just wondering if that number was still accurate.

 

I have a question regarding Leonard sculpt. Has anyone seen examples where the Leonard head has been used as a female character? I'm trying to figure out if it would work or not...

 

EID-M neck size is so huge that I think it would be tough to find a girl body to hybrid him with! Maybe the Impldoll 70cm lady...but even then I'm not sure. :O

His facial features might work for a very strong-boned older lady...VERY strong-boned! (I wish more girls had noses like his.)

 

I just popped a SID of each gender in the cart to look, because it's been a while since I ordered just a basic doll without extras. SID female shipping was $76.10 and a SID male around $80. So yes, you remembered correctly.


Concerning the up-charge for Doll Choice, the difference of $60 instead of $50 could have been because faceups cost about $10 more in doll choice, even if you're just choosing a basic default faceup. Without a faceup, the difference for EID guys is $50. (From $720 to $770)

You are right though, a very strong boned older lady definitely! I had tried to photoshop Leonard on to Scarlet's body but forgot to take into account that his head is a lot bigger. Maybe a SID sized head would work?

As a boy though, Leonard is still gorgeous. Only wondering about this because I have a light brown EIDW body and my Bichun who I'm waiting on is RS.

 

I checked EID in DC when it was open recently and it is only $50 extra. $710 + $50 for EID female = $760 is what it was when I checked.

 

I wish that Iplehouse would lower the price of their faceup's a bit, kind of sucks that I have my Zera on layaway and did not get their makeup, but now I am glad that I did not since I am going to give her a dramatic faceup. I want her to look similar to Jessie J, that girl can sing and she is pretty too.

 

I paid $70 for a faceup on my Doll Choice SID instead of the usual $60. Without that, the cost for DC would have been only $50 more than the regular price. It's still a honking big hunk of change.

Shipping to the US for my last SID male (with extra hands) was $84.20.

 

SID male heads can fit on EID female bodies -- depends on the sculpt (the narrower heads tend to look better), but I gave serious thought to my Vampire Claude becoming a Claudette. Decided I liked him too much as a boy, so I wound up getting him a body.

EID heads really only fit on quite large bodies -- think Soom Idealian (don't know if they fit, but they're about the same size), or a modified Dollshe David Kuncci, or potentially an Impldoll or DollsTown body. You very rarely see EID male hybrids, because the neck hole is just SO big.

An EID female with extra hands for me is only $80.10 to the U.S. I can put quite a bit more in the cart before it jumps up to $84.20 also...(including two pairs of shoes with some clothes/jewelry) Do the guys really weigh that much more? O.o.... Dang! I cant remember what it was for my Douglas... I'd have to go check... but I bought a bunch of other stuff with him too.

edit: Just went and checked my Douglas order... holy crap! $96.40?! Did I really pay that much in shipping? OMG I only got 8 other things with him (shoes, a belt, black fur coat set, shirt, tie, underwear, a wig, and a bag).

 

My shipping looks like its 96 dollars to the US. (EID female.) A few extra hands and feets amd some horns. Ouch.

 

Thanks for the info guys and also, yikes! Its crazy how expensive the shipping is! My friend who's not in the hobby told me earlier, "For how much you're paying, the shipping should be free!" As much as I love the handcrafted and small business feel of BJD's I must admit sometimes I wistfully imagine a BJD amazon haha.

First of all... what are you ordering doll wise? Any extra hands/feet? What about shoes? Also... is this outfit big and puffy or something small like a tshirt or langerie etc? From what other people have told me (and my own experience), some of the fuller dresses bump the shipping up by at least $5 at a time... maybe more sometimes. Usually what I've noticed causes it to go up is 1) when the total price in your shopping cart goes past a certain point in conjunction with 2) adding multiple shoes/outfits that are "thicker"/that have more pieces/are poofy....and in general... when you add more items of course. If you are only planning on getting the doll and one outfit... I dont think it should go up unless the outfit is super full and big... like the Gadeunia dress or one of the limited outfits.

If the outfit is instock... you can test drive the shopping cart by throwing in a doll that would cost as much as the one you want (if it is one of the CH characters) and then dropping the outfits etc. that you want in there as well. Then just pick from the drop down. EMS + specific zone 5 for the US

 

On my next order I'll be paying $160 for shipping because I'm ordering two dolls at the same time o.0

 

O.o.... omg... remind me to never buy two dolls at once! LOL! I dont think I'd be able to afford the price of both dolls together even without the shipping... so I guess I dont have to worry about that but... wow! $160 shipping? Jeez Louise!

 

When I ordered Lawrence with TWO fullsets, I paid $116.80 for shipping. He's flippin' huge though. I think that's completely fair considering I got him in 3-4 days. It cost me about $120 to send a LUTS SDF girl (in original box) to the UK for her to receive it in 3-4 days. I can't imagine how much it would be for an EID...

I used to think that faceups were a little too expensive too. (Thinking to myself... I could do this!) Actually Iple's are decently priced, LUTS is $70 standard. But then I tried to do my own faceup. Now granted, I used to paint (acrylic) all the time 2-3 years ago and am pretty creative. And my first body blushing went really well. I attempted 4 times and finally got something... decent enough to look at, only to chip it with my nail when I was wiping it down with a magic sponge. F*** it! (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻ Off to a faceup artist. So I'm sending Lawrence and Emil off .... after I order Leonard

I did pick zone 5. That's so weird, it let me pay and everything and shipping said 0. Oh well, I guess they'll let me know if they want more money.

The shipping says 0 in the line with all the options listed... but beneath that in a box to the right of the ems and zone, it should have said the shipping cost.

 

You can always go to your order on your My Iple page and it will show you Total product price + Total option price + Shipping fee = Grand total

 

The same thing happened to me with shipping - I've left a message on Paypal and in Q&A about it, just to make sure.

Another odd thing is that next to my order details, it says "CANCEL" in black letters. The only other time that happened was when they actually cancelled my order for not paying within 3 days. And when I refresh the Doll Options page, it still shows Ringo (normal) as available rather than sold out. I'm hoping against hope that my order is valid, and that Ringo is miiiiiiiiine!!

 

Hmmm that's strange... when I checked a few mins ago it was showing both ringos as sold out

Both Ringos are now showing as sold out - but my order has vanished! On my order page, it was showing the word "CANCEL" next to 2 orders, including my Ringo one. Now they are both completely missing! I guess that means my order wasn't valid....but we'll see what Iple says on Q&A. There's nothing I can do about it now.

What head did you get, Raven?

 

Same thing happened here, my shipping cost was $0 and I clicked ems shipping zone 2. The page was loading sooooo sloowwwly though.

My order shows payment payment completed preparing to deliverer. I asked them to ship the head together with my Scarlet order which they have not
shipped yet.

I got no.21 : Edan normal new $130.

 

I didn't get one this time. Was thinking about snatching a lisa but I don't really have plans for her... and the only other ones I wanted were kassia and Leonard... but I can get kassia later since I want her with a faceup... and leonard was gone by the time I remembered about the sale. Lol. But not too bummed... plan on getting him later if they put him in DC. I really wanted a douglas scar head... but there wasn't one this time around... missed it on the last one
