Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 15

Aug 9, 2014

    1. I'm too afraid to try wig making plus I have their wigs picked out, just going to need to hurrty and pay off the loan and order those wigs eeek lol

    2. Fingers crossed you get it done soon!

    3. Thanks Jany! Fingers crossed you're able to get your Edan!

    4. I didn't get an email about the head event. I saw it on the site. I usually do get the emails. Getting a head is pretty much luck I would think. I may try anyway. Maybe a light brown to switch out Bane, HaHa. I did take another picture and he's better not straight on it makes him look more normal sized. I searched until I found a wig sort of like one Iple had on him. Anyway Lawrence came in the mean time. He is sooo yum.
      [IMG][/URL]Bane&Co by lilsgirl2, on Flickr

    5. Your Lawrence is devastatingly handsome! :love Long hair suits him. Arvid is totally yum. And Bane shows promise in this wig. I think he'll look great with a faceup.

    6. Mmmmm Lawrence! And Arvid! Your Bane looks proportional in the photos, but perhaps it's different in person. If it helps, no head can be smaller than the Dollshe 28M boys...

    7. Gorgeous pics of your boys Lilsgirl. And it was really helpful~ thank you so much for posting!!
Bane seems to be related to Dexter somehow...it's his nose...or his eyes.... I love him. I need him.
Anyways...you don't have to worry too much about heads beings too small because that seems to be the trend. Soom is majorly down-sizing all their heads as well...maybe they're now going for proportion. Because as far as I know, Dollshe David had the smallest head I had ever seen but when I compared him with real people, he was extremely proportionate.
The only really bum thing is that you have to get new wigs for him.

I have a question, is Victor's head really that big? Or is it just because he's standing a in front of the other boys? I know when I take pictures some heads show up so much larger than in real life.

For example, you'll think Dia's (far right) head was the largest. But in reality...the two ID72 in the center (Hyperon & Zak) have the largest heads of this lot, and then its the EID guys, and then Dia, and then Wolf (guy next to Leo), and then Phython (red head in middle).
But Dia is wearing a wig too big for him and he's standing a few centimeters forward from the guys who are sitting.

    8. Oh yuan-mix your group is full of beauties and great photograph too!
I do think the position in the picture effects the look of the head size some. I also think Victor is on the lager size of the scale and Dexter has a smallish face too. I wonder if it's the same sculptor? I guess it's just like real people come in all shapes and sizes.
chissie-shark I did have a Dollshe Saint and he looked totally alien with EID guys. I traded him for Luo. I feel better about Bane now thank you all!

    9. THANK YOU, WOW!! So fun comments, I appreciate a lot! :aheartbea Girl power never ends..

Brenda is waiting for head tattooing.. I just wanted to test her face before continuing the faceup if it needs something specific for her .. I added more shadow but before it I snapped a wip picture of her face expression without any piercings etc yet. Heavy and rough eyebrows are not only for beefy hairy gorilla men dolls ;) I added wrinkles and black under her eyes, too.

Scarlet is so HOT i must say, she's pure evil XD FATAL

    10. Where has the day gone? I was in so much pain after hubby woke me up at 6am cause he had a bad muscle cramp in his leg and when that woke me up I could not go back to sleep and now I miss even more lovely photos of my fave dolls when I finally did get some sleep.

Bane looks really good with that wig on him and from that angle too Lilsgirl.

Adalwolf I really love this pic of your girl! That is one awesome wig!

    11. Derilan85, maybe think of it as waking up to a surfeit of dolly riches, rather than sleeping through them? *gentle hugs*

I hope you're healing well from your surgery, and that your pain is under at least decent control. Sending recovery vibes your way! :aheartbea

I finally got some pictures of my new-to-me guy (2011 Arvid in RS, who I bought from a local dolly friend), and Magnus is definitely showing a strong personality -- I hadn't envisioned him quite this way, but he seemed to demand a slightly dandyish, military background and style. I just finished reading Vonda McIntyre's "The Moon and the Sun", which is set in Louis XIV's court, and one of the major players in that book is a pale-blonde gentleman with a military history, so . . . hmmm ;)

(He doesn't resemble the character otherwise, but I think that a little of Lucien rubbed off!)

      Magnus by Ashbet, on Flickr

Still working on editing the rest of this shoot -- he's holding a sword rather contemplatively :)

I managed to accidentally order the Black Garnet set twice (!!!), which is especially annoying because I only have one SID man . . . but rather than parting with it, I decided to see how it would look on an EID woman. (I'm still jonesing for Iple to make a proper pirate coat for our ladies!!)

With a bit of pinning in the back (and a leather underbust buckled corset to shape the shirt and hold it in place -- I skipped the vest), it's not bad at all!

I'm going to have to see if anyone local is a good enough seamstress to take in a tailored garment, because I'd LOVE to have it properly lady-sized -- but it's only a little loose and a touch long in the sleeves, with a couple of safety pins pulling the back in a little.

I think that Blanca (Pamela) looks really good in the outfit, so she'll likely be my next photographic victim -- wheee!!

      -- A :kitty2

P.S. Yuan_MDX, your doll family is awesome -- very stylish! I think that one reason (aside from the wig) that your Dia looks bigger is that he's fuller in the face than your Idealians -- they kind of visually come to a point at the chin, whereas Dia has a rounder chin. All very handsome, just a different face shape, which can fool the eye in terms of size.

P.P.S. Adalwolf, your Scarlet is coming together fabulously -- love her cyber look! I'm excited to see how she winds up in her final form :XD:

    12. Ah...that's actually interesting about Dexter. So Victor's head really is a tad on the large side, too hmmm? Thank you for that clarification.

My Gawd Adalwolf!! It's like every time a piece of innocent resin gets into your hands, you turn them into deadly weapons~ LOL

Congrats on getting Arvid. It doesn't matter how many hands have passed, Arvid's gorgeousness is not going to go away! I had now idea RS looks so good with with such pale blond hair. Looking forward to more pictures of him~~

Thank you~ and I never thought about the shape of a doll's face effecting the size so much.

    13. Hi everyone, long time no posting, just lurking in this lovely thread for a while. :sweat

My Sergios (SID Felix) wants to say hi to all of beautiful dolls here~

      "Got a minute ?"

I really wish this time I can get a head.
      I've been wanting a Douglas (I know he's discountinued).

So here I'm hoping they have made an extra Douglas head~
And please be mine, Mr. Douglas ! :D

      @ Lilsgirl :
      OMG~~~ Handsome guysss~!

      @ yuan_mdx :
:D Drooling over the hunky guys you have~
And what a lucky lil' lady to have all of the handsome hunks~ :XD:

      @ Adalwolf :
      W.O.W !! You're truly an inpiration~!!
      Brenda looks super cool~~~

      @ Ashbet :
      Magnus, why so gorgeous ??
      [SUB]*faints*[/SUB]

    14. Has anyone bought the new jeans for the SID and EID girls? How well can the SID girls pose in them? And if anyone could try the light blue pinstripe or the blue gradient EID jeans on an SID girl for me that would help so much.
My Bliss needs jeans but the ones I wanted are sold out so I have to get different ones and I want to make sure she can pose and move in them.

    15. Lilsgirl - your guys are so gorgeous. Hope you will figure out what to do with Bane and that you like him in the end. Your Lawrence is really yum :D, I got my Lawrence last week and he is beyond gorgeous.
My worries that I won't like him were pointless - I absolutely adore him in person. He is without face up - I still have to figure out how I want him to look.

yuan_mdx - you have marvelous collection of men :love.

      Adalwolf
      - I agree with yuan_mdx, your Brenda looks like deadly weapon ;).

Ashbet - your Magnus is magnificent :). The pale-blonde wig look great with RS. And thanks for the info about the light tent ;).

Vienni - your Sergios is really special, I love his face-up and eyes.

    16. Vienni - I love your Sergios! He's always been so gorgeous. <3
Adalwolf - She looks amazing as early as now! (Well, I liked her blank too when you were just testing the wig, but now, WOW!) Can't wait to see her in all her toughass chick glory!
Ashbet - Love, love your Arvid! He really is giving off a strong, regal aura.

    17. Hey everyone, seeing your dollies makes me happy. Most definitely getting Harace when she is re-released in a week or so. Been out of the hobby for awhile so exciting to be getting a new dollie!

    18. Welcome back!! Oh man, Harace is pretty congrats! I'll be getting Bliss and Edan :)

    19. artisticadelle: I love both of their sculpts! Once again the "I wish I had limitless amounts of disposable income" strikes! If I was ever going to get a boy doll it would go Lawrence and then Edan!!

    20. Lol yeah if I have unlimited income I'd have so many dolls. Wasn't planning on getting Edna and Bliss until around August but Iplehouse did this so now they get to come home earlier and I am fully broke LOL

    21. Congrats on the Arvid Ashbet! He looks great!
      Adalwolf, your Scarlet is amazing!
Lilsgirl- Love your Lawrence, and look forward to seeing your Bane completed..

    22. Nina took lovely care of him -- his face-up was in great shape, and he's not yellowed at all. I need to blush his hands when I get a little time, although I definitely prefer my girls, who can get nail polish rather than French manicures. Much less work! ;)

It's funny -- I stuck the wig on him as a total "maybe," and he totally *owned* it. All of a sudden, he started making sartorial demands, and decided that quasi-military period attire was his thing. (Maybe the tiniest bit Goth/vampiric in style, although he's not a supernatural creature, unlike much of the Demogorgon's Crew -- I think it's because he looks so good with accents of deep red brocade.)

The collar of the coat is backed with brocade, which is such a luxe touch -- IpleHouse has been making such beautiful, detailed clothing lately! Nice to be able to get pieces like this *outside* of limited sets :D

Nice to see you back, Vienni! Sergios is gorgeous -- those cat-pupiled eyes are incredibly striking, and I love his face-up :)

Thanks so much for the lovely compliment to Magnus! I'm really enjoying having him here :D

The EID-woman jeans that I have (the pair that comes with "thong straps," and the black slim jeans) are too big for SID girls -- they're overly long and loose at the waist. I don't have any of the new jeans, but I'd see if anyone who has both sizes can try them on and take pictures, before spending the money.

      Glad to help! :aheartbea

And thank you so much! I couldn't be happier with him . . . and I'm excited about his brother, Ragnar, who is going to be coming home sometime in the next couple of months (ordered CDS in December.)

Apparently, I'm so worked-up about it (in a good way) that it affected my dreams -- I had a doll-box-opening dream last night, including an imaginary BJD steed for him -- something like a megaloceros, kind of the deer-based equivalent to the Domuya Nightmare, if anyone remembers that.

I blame the deer-steed on being semi-immersed in "Dragon Age: Inquisition" -- I'm not playing, but my partner and daughter are, so I've seen a lot of the game, and heard even more about it, so I'm picking it up by osmosis. ;)

Thank you so much!! Ooohhh, regal, I like that :D

Thanks so much!! And, wow -- like I said on Flickr, you and Lyn are such a good team, with your styling and her face-ups -- you really bring these characters to life! Your Black Dagger dolls are amazing, and I love all the planning and ingenuity that has gone into their creation, with clever mods like Zsadist's shaved head. You always remind me that the books are on my to-read list!

Here's a little more of Magnus -- need to get a shot that shows the boots better (these are the Dollmore Glamor Model boots), but he's as tall as my light tent when he's standing!!

      Magnus by Ashbet, on Flickr

This is the tent that I have (36"), but this 48" one would actually be better (didn't know that one existed!) for shooting standing 70cm dolls, since Magnus' head and Nuit's horns come awfully near the ceiling of mine, which limits my shooting angles if they're standing. And I think Vermillion's horns may actually be too tall to fit inside -- we shall see!

    23. Guys I got my first BJD a couple days ago! It's Iplehouse Eric and I absolutely adore the SD sizes now. I want a bigger doll! I haven't really got any pictures yet but I will try take some tomorrow.

    24. Congratulations!! I look forward to seeing him -- does he have an IpleHouse face-up, or a custom one? Eric isn't the most common sculpt, so it will be nice to see a new one on the board :)

      * * *

And now, for that lovely Arvid profile that I so adore . . . eeee!!

    25. Catching up-
Adalwolf Brenda is so imaginative! I am in awe of that sort of extreme vision for your doll.
Ashbet as I said in Flickr Magnus is soooo elegant I love this photo with the sword.
Vienni, if I had an SID boy it would be Felix he look great very different for Felix.
JinCIncy as usual spectacular! He's really scary, totally intimidating.
We had surprise nice day and I thought I could get two face ups done, but Bane lost out to Bibiane. Bane will probably have a long wait.
      Keep the pictures coming!
      Love to see everyone's dolls!

    26. Eric! I love Eric! Congratulations - wonderful choice if I do say so. ;) Eric is at the top of my buy list, but keeps getting put off for the limiteds. *sigh* What resin tone did you pick?

    27. Guys... I finally got the guts to unstring Henry's arms and tighten them O.o... it was less scary than I thought.... lol XD His arm elastic was a lot looser than expected. But once I tightened it, it was a bit of a struggle to get his arms back on. Had to fiddle with it for awhile. I also hot glue sueded his shoulders, hips (to help with stability while standing.. doesnt do much else beyond that), and elbows... so now he can finally hold poses with his arms! I'm so proud of myself for actually committing to doing it :D Even though I spent like 3-4 hours working on him on and off after I spent an hour trying to find my hemostat, ribbons, and hot glue gun XD I have way too many boxes of art supplies laying around O.o.... at one point... his right arm did go flying off when I accidentally let go of the elastic... but luckily most of it fell in his padded box... XD

While I had him unstrung, all I could think about was drawing tattoos on him... but his character doesnt have tattoos... so the first thing I'm going to do when I get one of my characters that DOES have tattoos... is probably unstring their arms and go to town XD

I havent gotten the courage to completely unstring him yet though... I did take his head off to try and see if I could pull up on the elastic enough to see the knot because I felt like his legs needed tightening... but I couldnt see the knot/couldnt even pull up hard enough on the elastic to get the knot to come out of his neck..... and I was freaking out that I was going to lose the S-hook down his neck when I was putting his head back on. I was fighting just to get it to a point where I could turn his head slightly so the S-hook would slide into the grooves in it.

    28. I got him secondhand so I'm really not sure, it's just a darker tone. It looks to be some sort of shade of brown/tan. It looks a little pinkish but I think that's from the blushing ^^

EDIT: Actually I'm his third owner so... thirdhand? Is that even a word? xD

    29. hongkongfuiz1234: Congrats! Thats very exciting! Can't wait to see pictures.

Ashbet: The cheekbones are Arvid are to die for! :D

The Raven: I hate myself so one of the first things I normally end up doing when I get a doll is completely unstringing them, hot glue suede them and then attempt to restring them. It normally takes me a few days of having one leg chill unattached while my fingers recover haha. Its impressive it only took you 4 hours honestly!

    30. Also quick question too throw out there; I'm very torn about going with normal skin versus the peach gold skin. Anyone have any experience with it versus normal skin and personal feelings on the difference and how its aged?

    31. I didnt actually completely unstring him so that helped a lot ^^ I only took his arms off to restring and then put them back on. I didnt hot glue them until after I restrung them because I wasnt sure if it actually needed sueding. So then I just pulled his legs/arms to the side while I put the glue in his sockets XD Same with the elbows... just popped his arms and peanuts out of the sockets and then went to town with the hot glue gun and then put them back. LOL! Saved me a ton of time even though it was a bit of a struggle trying to get his body positioned right/close enough to the hot glue gun because of where I had it plugged in at. I thought I was going to drop him a few times O.o.

I dont have peach gold yet (will after I buy my Pamela though)... but I do have Normal skin. I've had Henry since June 3rd 2014 and I think he has lost a tiny bit of his ns pinkness maybe (isnt much to begin with)... but he still looks pretty much like how he did when he first arrived. Although I do keep him in his box most of the time and he hasnt really been in direct sunlight. But I do really like the normal skin. I was a bit apprehensive about it at first since I thought it might be too light... but it is nice ^^ I'm a bit worried the peach gold will be too pink/dark for me... but I do like how it looks in owners photos. I'll just have to wait and see what I think about it in person when Pamela finally gets ordered and comes home (which should be soon due to the CH series going back on sale :D)

    32. I have both, old and new peach-gold. I honestly think the older peach gold was nicer and is does age nicely... but the newer peach gold is lovely too. I'm not sure it's been around long enough to be sure, but from the trials some people made (see the old/new iplehouse resin comparison thread), I believe it may be a little more prone to yellowing. Iplehouse normal skin is quite pale, by the way, paler than any normal skin from any other company I have (luts, FL, onlydoll, doll-love). Peach gold is pretty close to a real caucasian skin colour where there is minimal tan/olive tone. Real-Skin covers the olive/tanned/asian group and NS is really just the very pale 'natural irish redhead' type.

Anyway, to help you decide (and because they're just gorgeous), here is a shirtless pic of my Leonard (peach-gold) and Lawrence (normal):

    33. Peach gold is too pink for me -- some dolls made just after the resin change looked a little bit boiled! It seems like they've slightly toned down the pink in more recent releases.

NS is pale and doesn't yellow much (my oldest Iple dolls are NS, and the only difference between my Asa and my Pamela is that Pamela has a tiny bit more pink to her skin -- the red pigments are what fade the most quickly.)

Some people find one or the other more difficult to photograph (not having PG dolls look candy-pink, not having NS dolls too pale and blown-out), but they both can look amazing in photos, if you take a little time to practice what works best for your individual doll.

Here's a true-to-life-color photo of my Pamela, who was cast late last year:

Blanca Oleander by Ashbet, on Flickr

And here's a shot of Asa, made in July 2010: https://www.flickr.com/photos/ashbet/6341675459

FWIW, I have seen some amazing PG dolls, and I freely admit that while the color doesn't do it *for me*, that's a matter of personal taste. I think that most people receiving PG dolls now are happy with them, although there were some unhappy owners when Iple's resin changed, and the first PG dolls were VERY pink.

Since you were away from the hobby for a while, you may not have heard about the "resin change." Iple's supplier for French resin became unreliable, so now the colors that were formerly translucent -- PG and RS (and supposedly the original LB had some French resin, although I have LB dolls from before and after the change and can't tell the difference) are now opaque urethane resin like NS and WS have always been. PG and RS were the most visibly affected by the change.

I hope that whatever color you choose, you wind up delighted with your Harace! :D

One thing that might help sway your decision -- check out the owner photos of Harace on Flickr, and see which skin tone appeals to you most :)

    34. [IMG]

This photo is a lot bigger than I expected o.o

Anyways I just linked this from FB but here is my boy Damien <3

    35. Asbet, The Raven, and kt8 thank you! I think I will stick with normal skin it just looked so pale in some owner pictures I saw I was worried it would be too close to white skin. I've had a white skinned doll before and I know its not for me! haha

    36. As everyone has said Iple normal skin is very pale but still natural looking. My only regret/problem with it, is that it's sooo hard to get a picture of my normal skin girl and light brown boy where one of them isn't washed out LOL. That is probably more to do with my photography skills lacking than any problem with the colors.

    37. My absolute favorite resin is the old PG resin:aheartbea....the new isn't bad either....

    38. I have to say I recently sold my only N/S doll. It was just so incredibly pale, really not my personal taste.
I have seen some outstanding dolls in N/S but even if (When) I order Roger he will be in P/G and will be a red head (S Dink Style)

    39. Oh gosh now I'm wiffle-waffling again! XD Haha oh well I have a week to decide. ;P
Found some owner pictures but its all iplehouse comparisons couldn't find any PG skin comparisons to other company NS.

sidroq: Haha photography is not my forte so I feel your struggle. Your iple boy is beautiful! I love his freckles. Did you do his face-up??

luluna: Wow your Pamela is gorgeous :D She's the new PG resin correct?

Christe: Hm definitely makes me pause on the NS. Thanks so much trying to gather as many opinions as possible since obviously I can't see the resin differences in person.

    40. LOL Sorry to make you wiffle-waffle  and....yes my Pamela is the new PG resin...

I looked for a photo of a NS and a PG together and here is one but they are both the older resin mix...
      Photographed with indoor lighting...

On the left is NS but the body is a little blushed...and on the right is PG.

    41. I can take a photo with PG against fairyland, Luts, doll-love and/or onlydoll if it would help?

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

    42. Thank you so much! No, Lisa Jameson of Pepstar's World did his faceup custom according to my description. :) I love freckles and reddish hair with dark skin! Not being able to be in the same picture as his wife is a small price to pay. XD

    43. I don't have any PG dolls, but something I did when I bought some extra hands was I got one of those little C rings that goes in the wrist, but in PG so I can see it in person without shelling out one grand on a doll that I end up not liking the resin tone.
So far I have only normal skin dolls, will have a real skin in a few months, but normal is my favorite tone. Two of my dolls are from 2013 and one is from 2014, after the resin change. None have yellowed and the pictures I'm posting (and linking) are in varying light sources. Also they only have blushing on their hands, but one of the boys does have quite the number of tattoos.
What I like about NS is how versatile it is and changes quite drastically in different lighting. So here's a few pictures all taken with the same camera.
Ember, my 2013 NS Eva. She looks a lot paler in this photo because I was using artificial light for the spotlight look, no flash from the camera. (I use a 2009 canon rebel if that helps). She'll be two in May of this year.

Ember again but without the artifical light. This was taken inside with my house lighting and is actually the closest to her color in real life.
      http://th03.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/i/2014/338/2/8/pinup_by_artyadelle-d88mp8d.jpg

Last picture of her, it's inside my house and this time I used a light with a filter on it, that's why she's more pink.

Here's my SID Felix, Alex, who was made summer 2013. He's got more of a yellow tone to him than my other two, but that's they way he came to me. First picture is with my natural house lighting and the second is with flash. Photos are maybe a month apart.

My nYID Eddie from 2014, after the resin change. Sorry if this picture isn't allowed in here, but since it's a link I'm not sure how that works. This photo was taken outside in natural light a few weeks ago. He'll be a year old in May of this year.

But more than anything with NS, I've learned that it takes a little bit to get used to photographing. Just like how photographing dolls takes time. If this helps this is what my first couple attempts at photographing Ember looked like, she was super washed out in 90% of her pictures, second photo is from September of this year, about a year and a half after I got her. Both are in nautral light and from the same angle.

Sorry for all the text and links! Hope this helps!

    44. I have to say that ktk8 is pretty true to the colors of my PG and NS Iple dolls. I do have to disagree about Iple NS being super pale. I think it's the same color as all the other NS I have. It matches LUTS and Angell-Studio's Solid Butter fairly well. (AS Solid Butter is made with French Resin so it has a translucency to it making it seem... slightly off, but only in certain lighting). And yes... it's all about lighting and photography. I find that sometimes my PG doll gets washed out in overcast weather. But my NS doll does really well in overcast weather. It's odd. What you think is a beautiful scene outside and would be perfect turns out isn't because dolls reflect light more than humans do.... so a lot of times the sun makes their face completely shadowless and awful looking. It's a battle. I personally love the NS and the PG (never had the 'old' PG) and I recently got LB.... but I'll admit I find it too dark for my taste. So I plan to get my next doll in RS... I think I'll like that more.
Here's a pic of my boys, Jude (NS nYID Juan) and Sage (PG SID Claude). If I get home before the sun sets this week, I'll snap a pic of my different company resins with Iple's. If not... it'll be Saturday.

    45. I'd like to get Edan when they reopen the series next week but can't decide what skin tone to get. Does anyone here have him in NS with the company faceup? I've tried searching the forums and I was only able to see one in NS with a custom faceup :-/.

    46. Peach gold verses natural skin. I have a Pamela in peach gold. It is more pink than peach. I have a feeling it will mellow but so far my girl has a pink cast to her skin. It photographs nicely and is probably easier to capture than the natural skin although that is lovely too. I have Carina in NS. I am not much help to you am I?! One of each perhaps? :)

She's snuggling up to a light brown Kamau in evening light here but if you follow my Flickr link you will see lots of daylight photos of her :) Good luck with your decision. I don't think you would go wrong with either colour.

    47. The list for the head event is up!

      ***

And on the NS versus peach gold subject:
I personally prefer peach gold. I have two girls in PG resin, one in the "old" resin (early 2013) and one in the new resin (late 2014) and while the colors look very different compared to each other, I like them both. The new PG resin is more pinky, but I always like it if the doll has a pinky shade rather than creamy since the pinkyness will mellow as the doll yellows, but a creamy doll might not yellow so nicely ^^; I have on NS girl from IH (2013) and I've also seen other NS Iples IRL, from my experience they mellow pretty quickly and I'm not a big fan of the yellow-ish shade they turn into :/ I'm always super careful with my dolls, they get sunlight and are covered from lamp light most of the time as well. Even then my NS girl has mellowed some and has a creamy tint, though this only bugs me if I look at her IRL, in photos it's not visible. I actually think that during the first couple months that Iple dolls are home, their resin tone changes and mellows, but then it stops o_o At least this is my experience, I don't know if anyone else has noticed the same?

Here is a group of mine and Adalwolf's girls (ignore the text, this was our new year photo XD). Nieve the redhead is NS, team pink shirts on the right are PG (Jade new resin, Ceci old resin). It's not the best photo, but it does show the main difference between these two colors: NS is more creamy while PG has a more pinky shade.

    48. Thanks for the feedback on PG vs NS guys. Safir, it's amazing how close in tone the PG and NS look in your group pic! And it's definitely helpful to see the new and old PG side by side. I actually have 2 guys in PG and 6 girls and one guy in NS but I like to head-swap and I'm not sure how it's going to work out with the new PG since my other 2 are both old PG. In context of my collection, having another NS SID guy body around would be the most useful but I'm concerned that Edan's company faceup might be too dark and not look good on the NS which is quite pale... Argh, it's just the same circle of thoughts going around in my head over and over. Even though I have a lot of Iple dolls I almost always regret my final skin choice and faceup choice. Thank god Edan only has one company faceup!! I really need to buy some PG girls to balance out my collection.

    49. Asually when they do a faceup that was originally done on a darker tone on a lighter tone, they change the colors so it will go better for that resin. With my nYID boy his faceup was originally on a PG doll but he's NS. His eyes aren't too dark and lips aren't too pink.

EDIT: Here's pictures of a NS Edan with the company faceup!! http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...e-Edan-Brief-Nudity)?highlight=iplehouse+edan

    50. Great, Just Bloody great! Now the list is up for the Iple head event. I want the L/B Leonard & Kamau in R/S.

      I'm such an addict,
      1. I already said no more dolls this year.
      2. I don't even like Leonard's sculpt.

For the sake of my sanity:eek: / wallet :chomp:/ living space :ablink:/ hoarding doll tenancies, some body stop me!:eusa_pray

      @ LyanneNZ

Your Kamau is a real jaw dropper, I love him!

    51. I'm in the same boat, I've already been forbidden from buying more dolls ><

How much do these heads cost at Iplehouse events? I might be able to squeeze one into my budget. Also is it only one head available?

So far I have eyes on:

      Leonard - lb
      Kamau - r/s
      Ashanti - ebony
      Soo - r/s
      Peekaboo - r/s

I already have a feeling I won't be able to get one though, even if I wanted to, I don't have the extra bodies... though that would mean maybe a good opportunity for creating hybrids :D

    52. Wow thank you so much everyone! I forgot how willing people are to help in this hobby! Makes me glad I'm getting reinvolved. :)

ktk8 if you have the time/will I would love to see PG against those company NS

animerockstar: Thank you for the pictures, definitely seems like its all about timing and lighting to get the right look for this NS!

artisticadelle: Wow no thank you for the links! Definitely helpful and I never mind having to look at dollies! :D

LyanneNZ: Wow beautiful dolls definitely look at your flickr

safir: Love this picture and it definitely helps to see the difference! I've read from other people about the color changing in the first few months and then stabilizing. Interesting to read.

    53. Prices can range from about $150-200 (if I remember correctly) for SID and EID, not too sure about YID. KID and JID are between $80-100 and I think BID were $60-80. It also sometimes depends on the sculpt as well.

Interesting selection you're looking at there. I'd be afraid about making hybrids as I'm not that knowledgable about different doll types. But I love seeing what others can do with them, so piccies please if you go for it :D

    54. I finally found the list of heads, but how does this work? Where do they post the heads so you can buy them if you are lucky?

    55. The prices don't seem too bad, still with customs and shipping thrown in... *gulp* I'm really interested in hybrids, specifically as I would love to pose them in fight stances. At a minimum at least getting some jointed hands for them. It's a shame Iplehouse doesn't do jointed hands. I would definitely have bought some.

    56. They'll be listed in the doll parts section. If they do it the same as last time it will be in three different sections, EID and SID, YID and JID and then KID and BID. They will likely not have pictures just a drop down list, so you'll be best off being sure which head from the list you want most and go for that first to be able to get it.

I think I heard somewhere they were looking into it but they can't quite get them to both work and look good so it may be a while before we see Iple offering jointed fingered hands. They'd be interesting to see though. The poses they'd be able to make would be fun :XD:

    57. This has been put to IH and a thread somewhere on their site. What they have said is jointed hands are dificult to enginer for one thing but that they are looking into it... when I can't guess ;p This seems more like some 'distant future project for them lol but they have had this put to them... a lot ;p

They will show up ahead of the sale in groups (based on size) and your will select the desired head from a dropdown list. I think they will show up under Iple Etc. if I remember where they were last time. They sell the same as any ot item.... you just have to be the first to get through they buying process >< so do not plan on getting anything else... do that later on another order and ask to have them combined later. This is for the sake of speed really. And be ready to type all your info in even if it is suposed to be saved... it seems to get dumped for some reason for these for some ppl.

    58. I'm pretty glad/sad (yes this is a legit emotion!) that the heads I want are there, but are not in the resin colours I need. I would have pounced on Rex and Carina had they been in NS, and V.Claude if he had been in RS. And let's not even talk about Chris and Stella (who are not available thank frick). I may be unable to resist them. My Eric from the auction is on his way home, and that should probably mean enough spending for now! :)

Good luck to everyone who will try to purchase a head! Advance congratulatory greetings to whoever gets Leonard; he's my one true favourite sculpt.

    59. I'm glad they don't have a realskin Vampire Claude too, but I'll be skipping the head event as I'm bringing home two dolls. Speaking of which, the new guy's wigs arrived today and since they aren't here, or have been ordered for that matter, Ember and the boys got to be the models.
Big mistake because now Ember wants to keep them all for herself even though she has three wigs of her very own. I must say though I do enjoy her Bond-girl-esque look here with Lacie's (Bliss) second wig.

Wig is a Monique Bubbles in Off Black and size 7/8.
The 7/8 actually fits big Iple girls really well, better than the 8/9's I'm surprised. I was worried they'd be too small and they fit PERFECTLY.

    60. Wow, Ember! That's one sexy lady. Maybe she can wear it sometimes when Lacie is wearing her first wig? It does suit her extremely well.
Some of my girls actually wear 7/8 rather than 8/9 wigs too. I have a couple Elfdoll wigs that are labelled 7/8 but tend to be on the 8 side of things ... apparently, so are the Iple ladies.
