Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 14

Oh my Iple... I think it's understandable, in case people don't like this new body, it will be a waste of effort on their side. They should gather information of how many people that willing to get this muscled body for the EID ladies... But still... I really hope they will consider it...

 

I don't think they will make such a body as to seeing how they pass it along and it may get shot down design wise. Plus they would have to make new clothes for a body that is more muscle than what they have already.

 

Not necessarily since the body we are wanting would be wearing more things the guys do. There would be a small selection of clothes they would have to make that we already want (like catsuits etc) that they don't make enough of yet.

 

Honestly I'd be okay if they kept everything the same except for the arms (maybe re-sculpt the abdomen a bit too, but keep it the same size-wise, but this is honestly not something I care about). Then she'd fit in all of the bottoms and the tops that have no/loose sleeves, which only leaves a tiny portion of the already-existing EID clothes inaccessible (a gap that could be easily filled in with the nYID boy clothes). And even if that didn't work... I don't really care. It's not like they'll ever make clothes that would fit my characters.

But, at this point all of this is just looking at shapes in the clouds, because it sounds like they're not even working on her and probably never will.

Well, that's fine. Makes it really easy for me to avoid buying more dolls.

I need an honest opinion before I stick on his eyebrows...he doesn't look girly does he? I don't wanna give him bushy eyebrows and I can't give him a stubble at all. The eyeshadow doesn't help either but his face looks too flat without them. Any feedback would be nice.

 

Nah, he doesn't look girly. I mean if you really want to make some changes, I'd extend the tips of his eyebrows a bit more towards the temples because they do go longer on most people (especially men), and you could do tiny water colour pencil lines on the eyelid to break up the evenness of the colour to get rid of some of that eyeshadow look. But those are just futzy little things, I don't think you really need to change anything if you're satisfied, he looks manly enough already.

No I don't think he looks Girly. I think Girls have more smaller eyebrows I think those are normal eyebrows for a men and by the way he looks good with this face up.

She is so amazingly versatile. I love her. She is such a beautiful sculpt. I'd buy her in a heartbeat if I had any money

 

I think you did a great job on his face up and no, I don't think he looks feminine at all. Very nice!

 

I used to own a Luna(the Tamer version) and the hooks on her feet kept breaking. Do the EIDs made within the last still have that problem?

 

No, they switched from resin hooks to metal so the EID feet no longer break like those early EID girls.

 

That's a relief! Now to decide whether or not I want Chase in normal, real skin, or peach gold since the character I'm planning tends to have a slight difference in skin tone depending on the offical artworks and how he appears in the games.

yuan_mdx I think your Leonard looks amazing! I'm really impressed! But I think Lelite is right... extending the eyebrows out more may help. But he doesn't look feminine at all to me

Is it just me... or would Harace make an extremely cute boy? I think I may have fallen for her.

 

Sorry if I'm asking something obvious here but did the EID guys also have the problem with the resin hooks breaking? Because my Chase from 2012 has resin hooks.

 

Has anyone tried this wig on one of their boys yet? I'm curious what it's like in person and how easy it is to style/manage.

 

You're definitely not alone in this, I too think she would make an adorable he ;-) However, I personally prefer happier looking sculpts, so I am not much tempted by her. Anyway, if you ever decide you need "him", I will stalk you for owner pictures

 

Hmm I really don't think Iple's faceup and styling do Harace any favours. I can't wait for her to come home so I can play around with her! With the right faceup she doesn't have to look so sad - the character I have in mind is gracious and diplomatic, which I think Harace could pull off without looking melancholy.

 

I think so too. Her blank head is much more beautiful than what IH did with it. I can't wait to see what people make of her.

 

Me too...I am curious to see what people will do with her. I like the more colourful face up (Type B) on the special edition but I think she might well be a really versatile sculpt and fun to paint.

My Kamau arrived a few weeks back and finally I got a sunny day AND some time to do a face up on him last weekend. I really like this sculpt. I am curious to see what they do with it when they "renew" him!

 

Your Kamau is gorgeous Lyanne! I don't know why they need to renew him, his features are perfect in my opinion, but we'll just have to trust Iple's artistic judgement.

Just wondering...is there anyone else here with a small bust SID girl who would like to see Iple come up with a padded bra specifically designed to fill in the space in all of their spiffy new clothing that doesn't fit your chest-challenged girl properly? Or is this just a me thing?

 

I wouldn't mind seeing one for the med. bust EID O_o... my Renoir dress and it's "gapossis" problem should explain why ;p... although I may have just realized a reason for the lace tube top style bra O_o... That would work like a cami to keep it more modest?.... but ya padded bras all round for smaller girls who should be able to wear larger tops!

 

*Sigh* Iple doesn't really seem very interested in making dreams come true if they don't coincide with already existing plans, but I did put a request on the Iple talk board if anyone wants to chime in.

 

The padded bra idea is a good one! I have a medium bust EID and plan on getting a medium bust SID someday... but fitting clothes on them IS a bit of a bother!

 

I wonder what they would say if a 'baby bump' top/thingy was requested ;p... who am I kidding lol uh no not at this time (aka never?)

 

I just restrung my Luo tonight as he had started to buckle at the knees if I tried to stand him. I had some spare string sent with my new Kamau. Interestingly the string they are providing now for the guys is a lot thicker. My boys helped me hold Luo while I strung him and he stands very well again now. Will share pics hopefully tomorrow. Thanks for all the nice Kamau comments - I love these big guys. I was never really into male dolls but Iplehouse tempts me to have lots of them!

 

I must admit that I have never been much of a Kamau fan, but your boy completely made me rethink that, LyanneNZ. He is absolutely gorgeous - I love the faceup!! Now you have me curious to see the renew sculpt...which is never a good thing as far as my wallet is concerned.

 

Hello there, DoA'ers! I'm in the market for an Iplehouse SID woman and I've never seen or handled an Iplehouse before. I was hoping you guys would share your experiences with me. I'm planning on getting an Ebony skin girl. I heard the skin tone wasn't always available so I thought I'd ask you guys what you thought. Any tips or things I should be aware of?

Can't say anything about the resin color (mine are Normal and real). BUT, best advice I have, is check for a local bjd meet. Conventions of various types are often good too having a doll panel or meet at the cons. If you are super lucky and can go, someone just might have an IH doll ^^. My personal experiance is, I love them and will 'learn' to managed them despite my issues. As a newbie.... when changing them (anything, heads, eyes ... cloths) do it on something softer like a carpet or on a towel that's padded until you are used to the 'sudden oopsie moves' you DOLL makes ;p It's easier on your own nervous system ^^.

About ebony I can say it's available in Doll Choice only right now which is only open the first 2 weeks of the month and I 'think' it's on a bi-monthly rotation with grey? So you have a smaller window to get it.

 

I got my hair done today and when I got home I noticed that Ember and I match, just reversed colors. This pleases me

I know what you mean about the soft surface. I buy dish drying pads for doll work, especially face-ups. Though just yesterday I knocked mine to the side with my elbow and my Dollmore head went flying. I broke his ear off. *cry* Super glue to the rescue.

 

Okay that is just too adorable ;p... I would have loved to try my girls hair color ages ago... time and 'complexion' changes make that a bad idea now lol..

Doll Choice has only ever been for 2 weeks of the month unless it's like (for exampe) a special event like last Christmas and open all month. DC say the 1-15th of the month but if the 1st falls on a day off it moves to the next business day which explains why sometimes DC is not open exactly on the 1st.

omg *cringes* My big centaur came from the original seller (the company) with a broken elf ear... the owner didn't want the fuss of sending it back to the dealer to have it go to the company ... blah blah.... so she did the same thing. I got him second hand and it looked fine.

 

Okay so I did a review on my two new IH SID clothing sets I got. Hmmm maybe I will risk putting off getting the D.Garnet set then. Edan may yet need it but I DO have the Le Roi set already. ;p I am curious though. Did you get the 'dark pleated pants' sold separately? I can't see what the waist is like and how they fasten... I am wanting a pair of britches that I can pass on to my zenith... and if an EID woman can wear em so can he ;p. The waist fastener can be very helpful if it's at all adjustable...

@ Cookiekitty ... wow... just wow... and is he PG? and the name "Richard" popped in my head... which is odd since he has been steadfastly "Leo" until your pic LOL...

He is in light brown skin. The sun was shining on him. I feel like he is lighter than my Aaliyah, who is also light brown. I will have to take a picture of them together.

Eh heh...eh heh.... noooo. I didn't get the pants... Actually I have no idea what kind of pants those are (maybe SDF LUTS???) but I wouldn't recommend them because.... they don't exactly close... in the front. Luckily the shirt is long enough to cover all of that, but if the wind blew.... well he would be VERY popular with the ladies! I'd wait. I think it will be around for a while, it just looks like the older stuff is going away. And if anything, by the time you get Edan I'll have decided to sell mine after all so I can buy nYID clothes for Juan.

Thanks for the clothing review, animerockstar. I'm embarrassed to say I never knew that thread existed. It could be a very useful tool. After reading your review, I'm thinking of putting off any purchase of the garnet coat set. Like Lady Tiku, I also have the Le Roi Danse set, which may be all the black suit/red vest I need.

I'm glad you found it helpful. I think I'm going to take some backside pictures of him today in both sets for reference. Mainly because I have to get Sage out of that Dark Knight set for fear of staining <---- tears for removing sexy outfit - not the staining

I bought a bunch of other Iplehouse clothes so maybe I'll do a few more reviews.

 

Wow those Leonard pics are gorgeous. I so wish I had ordered him. I am kicking myself. I did ask Iplehouse if he would be released through the choice system and they confirmed that he would although not until next year

 

at least their didn't say "no" So you just have to wait a bit and save up your money to buy him when he is released again.

Also what other outfits do you plan to review? (curious now ;p). I will put up one on the JID Vino Roso that the top is so small on and the EID Renoir dress that needs extra hooks ;p (these for sure not sure what else I might do... I have 10 orders worth of stuff to go back through lol).

I heard from a friend that if you wash doll clothes in baby shampoo they don't stain anymore.

Well I have a TON of SID Man stuff I bought with Claude and then I bought the nYID girl Pure Fairy set and the Peach lingerie set, despite owning an IH girl doll. But they fit beautifully on my LUTS SDF girl and I'm going to try putting them on my Oasisdoll because she's built more like the IH (I think). She's got bigger hips and wider waist and bigger chest than the SDF. And now they put out all those new clothes!!! (&#8807;&#9697;&#8806
