I would like to share a photo of an elvish inspired tunic from a recent commission.
My Iplehouse special light brown EID Kamau is modeling. The tunic was
made with suedecloth using a modification of my ca.1895 galabeeyah pattern.
It is embroidered at the neckline, wrist and hem. The back of the tunic is partially
open and closes with two snaps. It has working pockets.

My Kamau was the limited version made with a special light broen resin. He's the
original Kamau sculpt on the model body. One of these days he will get restrung
as he's gotten a bit loose in the joints! He has a Monique wig and 10mm glass eyes.

 

Loving all the Carina pics! It's still so fun to see how different the same sculpt can look. ^_^

Hello, everyone. I have questions for those of you with Monique Gold wigs. I've heard they run a bit large, and I want to make sure I order the right size.

Which size fits best on female YIDs/SIDs/EIDs? Do you prefer size 7-8 or 8-9? Do 8-9 wigs fit well over silicone wig caps? And is there any chance an 8-9 wig could fit a male EID?

 

There is some variation among the heads in each category, just so you know. If you're planning to use a silicone wig-cap, then I'd definitely recommend 8-9" for a female EID. YIDs need 7-8" in my experience, and SIDs can generally wear 7-8" without a wig-cap, but I'm not sure about with one. As for male EIDs, I'm pretty sure I've got 8-9" on two of mine, but I'm not positive about that anymore, and I don't use wig-caps under mine. Maybe someone who does can give you a more definitive answer?

 

Like @Sianserais I use 7/8 on my nYID and SID and even on most of the EID women.
For the EID men, I use 8/9. I've never liked the silicone head things, so never use them.
A bit of athletic take on the head cap works for me.

The tunics were fun to make with that suedecloth fabric and I always enjoy doing the
embroidery edging. And your Carina is stunning too! Love her with her blue eyes too!

For monique wigs, I use 7-8's on all my girls (nYID, SID and EID) except when I can't find a particular wig in that size. If using an 8-9 for the girls, I generally use a silicone cap or thick elastic band to help keep the wig from slipping.

I use both 7-8's and 8-9's from Monique on my SID males, and 8-9's only on my EID males, which fit very well. I don't think I've ever gotten a 7-8 to fit an EID guy.

 

Adding to the Carina spam~ Here's my Holtzmann in progress. Still doesn't have her proper eyes or a faceup, but hey! I love her!

 

Oh my gosh, one of my Iple orders arrived today and it had the pink gold dress set in it, gosh, this set is so much prettier in person! Photos don't do it justice.

 

She is beautiful in her new dress. I thought that was such a pretty set. Glad to hear it is even better in person.

 

That was my favourite of that set of offerings. So pretty! Congratulations!

 

I want that pink gold dress in FID size. (It looks great on Eva!)

Here's 12mm Oscar eyes in a Carina--Fabric Friends and Dolls just got a shipment in recently and lots in the 14mm-12mm size. The 12mm still are a little "big" for a realistic eye, but Hecate is more of a fantasy character.

 

All of my girls wear 7-8 Monique wigs. My Bibiane's head is bigger than my Aaliyah and Zera's but she still fits the 7-8 be it snugly. When I used to have an Ashanti the 8-9 was way too big on her, even with a wig cap.

@artisticadelle I love that set on her! Very delicate and feminine, I am thinking of getting it to try on my nYIDs. Anyone else try it on an nYID lady?

 

I have YID girls but I haven't tried it on them. I don't know if it would fit them because it's loose on my small bust SID gal.

 

So last night I got a shipping request on my nYID elf Aurora. Which made me laugh since I ordered my SID Vincent two weeks earlier, but Vincent has a faceup and the elf is blank. I could not wait to share the news with all of you since my elf is going to be on the nYID male body.

Have any of you seen anyone attempt a male elf yet? I am very excited.

This is a random question but could anyone who owns iplehouse crow share some pictures of him wearing 12mm vs 10mm eyes? I'm trying to decide on eye size, and I'm not sure if 10mm will create gap...

 

Well, I dont have Crow out and easily available but for a (very poor) pic of him with 10/11 Eyeco eyes, check out my avatar. Again, not the best pic but it may give you an idea. I think both sizes will fit fine without gaps (I dont think his eye holes are as wide as some of the older eid like Roger, Elchanan, and Tedros) but Eyecos in size 10/11 are definitely good.

I've long admired the IH SD dolls very much. But because of their size, up until now I had decided it's better to stick to dolls that aren't quite that broad and muscular.

Most of my BJDs are typical stylized sculpts. But I'm finding my self caving in on not getting any SDs from IH. They are incredible hard to resist JID Juan is one of my favorites and the first one I'm thinking about getting. He and a couple of IH dolls have now found their way to my grail list. Currently I'm cleaning off a personal shelf for them.

But before I do any future orders, I'm just wondering if it is difficult to find clothes that fits YIDs, SIDs and EIDs?

 

Same with me I want a Juan so much

Um, does anyone know how the head size of Souldoll Zenith boys is in comparison to EID men? I really like Zenith boy Onulharu. I think he would be real cute next to my future EID dolls

@manabusama, Souldoll Zenith boys has about 8,5' head. Near you may see Souldoll Chiron (Zenith) with Iplehouse Victor (EID).

I don't have any issues.... it's variety in size ... same as humans...

Dexter, (EID hero body), Marauder (Kagel zenith) & Edan (SID) oh and Enyu ;P.... He looks younger which is okay since in my group Dexter is the older one of them.

 

Thank you so much for the picture I was just worried a bit if it would be too much size difference like it were with the DOD DOTs and DOIs. I could not find the Zenith head measurements. But I think they look very nice.

I'm really falling for both Zenith boy Onulharu and Zenith girl Swinte. I'm not even into K-pop but I just adore their Korean K-pop like look and their puffy eyes Got a feeling I'll end up with a mix of IH and Souldoll SDs.

 

1. Souldoll zenith 'boys' are an 8/9 head.
2. zenith boys clothing fits EID "women" THAT is your best comparison... my Luna raid Maraders cloths.... a lot
3. my zenith is paired with an iple nYID (Bliss)

EIDw in zenith boy outfit............and zenith with nYID girl... HE is wearing the uniform coat of nYIDboy

Oh that looks so cool in the second picture IH have so much in just black and white for their boys. Wish they could do more casual in fresh colors. But I know Alice's Collections make custom made clotes in many sizes.

 

Sorry for all the questions It's been a while since last I saw the ebony skin color in the "doll choice" option. I sure hope they haven't stopped offering it. It's one of my favorite IH resin colors and I'd really love to get one of the girls in that color.

And last, do they pierce the ears if you ask, or does that cost extra?

 

Just to add my two cents - when I had my Zenith Robb here, it wasn't the overall size but the proportions that I thought looked strange. Zenith boys have huge hands and really long legs in comparison to their other body parts and Iplehouse's proportions. But it's definitely workable if that's what suits your character/style!

 

I guess I'll just have to give the Zenith body a try even with the body proportions it have. The Onulharu sculpt is to die for! Love it so much I won't know before I have an EID man and Zenith boy what they'll look like side by side. But I'm more than willing to give the Zenith body a try. That face

 

I think the production of ebony skin tone is more difficult in warm weather, so that may be the reason why they do not offer it so often. Raccoon doll (which was founded by former Iple sculptor) even stopped offering dark mocha skin (which is same as Iple's standard light brown skin) till Autumn - when it's cooler.
I had ears pierced for both of my Iple ladies and there was no extra charge - I asked Iple to pierce their ears in the comment when I submited my orders.

 

Iple will pierce the ears for free at least one on each side, by my experience. I've never asked for more than one pierce per side so I can't comment about multiple earring holes.

Just be sure to use the q/a board to request it. I thought I could do so in the comment box when I placed my doll's order (instead of using the q/a board) but when I did, Iple missed it. As a result, my Vera can't wear earrings now, but I've learned my lesson.

 

As long as they don't stop offering it completely, I'm happy. I had an ebony JID Benny once and I really miss having a girl in that color. Then I'll ask them in the comment section

I got so happy when they released the FID line. That was my chance to get Lawrence in a smaller size. I love my Lawrence, but something is missing... I'd like to create families and friends. Parents, children and siblings characters. I can do that with the BIDs, KIDs, YIDs, SIDs and EID dolls. I now get what awesome dolls I've missed out on. Thank goodness for the "doll choice" option!

Ideas is just running through my head now. I have a couple of sculpts that I know that I want, but I got no idea where to start. I have a feeling though my first order might be a SID girl. Because I grew up with my parent's 50s-80s music, It's always gonna be a big part of me. I especially have a very deep love for bohemian and hippie stuff and music. Pink Floyd is my favorite band

So I'm thinking about maybe getting a Ginger Hippie SID girl first. That could be a good start
