Iplehouse Discussion (YID, nYID, SID, EID, HID) Part 12

Sep 9, 2020

    1. @Effiedreams Once the doll is finished, shipping is usually quite fast - at least it was before the plague. There's no hard and fast rule, but I think dolls with face up will always take longer. Blank dolls can take from three days to 7 months.

    2. thanks! i want to order HID girl in normal skin without faceup so i hope it will be faster haha

    4. I did not distress the jeans, they came that way. I'm not sure what the maker does to do it, because she's really consistent with it and it doesn't feel overthinned at all!

    5. I don't want to scare you but the post offices in Asia are overloaded. My package from Japan is waiting at the airport to catch a flight for a month now and a head I ordered from Switch is "before shipping" for more than two weeks. I am not sure how the situation will improve but right now, only shipping takes up a month or more.

    6. I ordered a HID Doria a couple months ago with the default Faceup and she only took two and a bit months to arrive :)

      *Edit: Im in Canada

    7. I'm in NYC in the US and have ordered from different Korean companies using K-packet & EMS and both were faster than EMS packages from China. I think China & Japan just have a lot more shipping going on.

K-packet is the long way from Korea and they say 12-20 days, but my package took 8 days. My Iplehouse EMS packages have been taking the usual 4 days to arrive.
My packages from China took 2 weeks for regular mail and 5 weeks for EMS.

    8. I read that Japan Post got lots of complaints from the USA, so they put priority on packages going to the American continent. Thus, those are faster. On the other hand, packages to Europe are really slow. :(I hope soon such problems will be solved. I can't wait for Iplehouse summer sales! I am planning to buy my dream doll (Aria) in the summer. :dance

    9. Congrats! what resin colour are you going to get her in?

    10. I still haven't made up my mind, but I think I will go for the "normal skin".
I'm also wondering, is there a big difference in posing ability between the old and the new sid bodies? I am sorry if this has been discussed already, I would appreciate any help about this!:):abow:

    11. Congratulations @Kurichan , I think people like the new SID body best but I don't have one myself, only the older one :)

    12. I don't have the new SID, but I have the old one, and it's decent--the elbows/knees/hips all work like they should, I've had luck with the "hip clickers" on it that hold them in place, but a lot of people prefer to remove them. The new body does have a very different ankle joint--more like a standard BJD joint than like the baffling ankle joint that just sort of fits into a rim on the bottom of the shin, and doesn't have the same mobility. It doesn't bother me (the EID, original SID and YID all have it, and I have them) but I do prefer the HID and new SID feet

    13. Yah, not having a new SID version, I don't know how well they pose, though I understand it's better, still I have NO problems with my Grace and the sculpting is stunning, joints are so beautiful. I love her.

      • x 1
    14. Thank you so much! :XD:That's really good to know! Personally, I like the old body as well because it looks so beautiful. I heard the new body has a bit better posing, but I do not know any detail so I was wondering what the difference can be.

      • x 1
    15. @Kurichan - As has already been said, the biggest difference is the ankles, which are SO much more useful than the old ones. I find the knees are more cooperative (especially when kneeling) as well. The arms aren't that much different, but a little more flexible due to the new elbow joint. I've a few old pics here in case they help. ^_^

    16. Thank you very much! The pictures are wonderful! They help a lot! :abow:
Thanks for the information about the ankle and knees! I think I will meditate on which body to choose a bit more. ;)

      • x 1
    17. You know, the new version is just as pretty, I think i would go for the possibility of better posing. :thumbup

    18. Thank you so much for the encouragement! And thanks to everyone who helped! :):abow:
I will really think it over. The good thing is, there's still time until the summer sale. Is it usually around July / August? I remember last year it was in September because of the special circumstances.

    19. I should save up for that too, especially to sooth the sting of shipping. Goodness it's so expensive to ship an Iplehouse doll, OUCH!

    20. I didn’t noticed that the shipping charge got increased again :nosebleed guess Claude and Eric will be sitting longer in my carts until 06-14 (2 SIDs is about $250 to Canada which is killing me :frownyblush:

    21. :aeyepop::wiggle She's totally rocking that outfit! I just love how realistic these dolls look in photographs (and in reality) The muscle definition is amazing on her!

    23. Wow, so beautiful @collectionkate Love the outfit :) She looks so sweet there!

    24. Thank you! I sewed this outfit for Diana Dollshe.

    25. Wow, is that all custom beading work? Beautifully done! @collectionkate

    26. I embroidered with Luneville crochet on the top, with a needle on the skirt.

    27. @PhenomStar - @IngieBee - Thank you ever so much! I'm just having so much fun with the HID small bust body lately. Though, sad note...her faceup MSC is cracking off. I had to photograph her so it wouldn't show.

@collectionkate - That outfit is lovely as is your girl.

    28. I've always loved these dolls but I'm afraid to get one because of the clothes and shoes problem but seeing the shipping increase starts on June 14 I want to get Claude now, I just need more money :chomp:

    29. I love Leonard but I missed it QAQ.I wish I can have one.

      • x 1
    30. @collectionkate Her outfit is so great! And she is a beautiful doll :3nodding:

@luluna Your Elle is gorgeous! Too bad that she has MCS cracking... I'm curious, did you get her at the first release of Elle Athena? I'm asking this because when she was released with the choice of heads, I chose Doria head, and mine too have some MSC cracking... :( However, I can say that I'm lucky in my badluck, because the cracking is small and a bit under the ear (both side). So you basically don't see it. So I was wondering if it could be a problem with their MSC during the original release? Because all my other Iples don't have cracking like that...

      • x 1
    31. Thank you! This RS Elle I ordered in July of 2019. Her MSC cracking is on her right side forehead and down under her eye. It's pretty bad. But she's not from the first Athena Elle offering...because for that I got an Elle in GPG. :XD: I haven't checked her MSC lately...but I will next chance I get.

But I think Iple are having some issues with MSC :| as I have another HID (a Doria btw) that also has a flaw that was covered up with pastel...but not sealed and when the pastel came off...it showed a flaw like a big rub in the MSC. (I'm trying to have that one repaired as it is less than 6 months old.)

I think when it is their humid season...spraying MSC can get...wonky. It's discouraging , I must say.

    32. Oh wow, that's amazing!

You've got to be kidding me?!?! I've been waiting for the cost to go down, and they're increasing it? How about smaller boxes, hell throw away boxes, I hate having to store boxes all the time! I haven't bought an Iplehouse doll in a while now because the shipping increased due to covid I thought. Oh darn :(

@luluna oh wow, I'm so sorry to hear about both your dolls' faceups getting ruined :(

    33. @luluna Thanks for your answer! I've looked carefully yesterday after writing my post at my other Iples, and I saw the same MSC cracking on my FID Carina, about the same place as my HID Doria (under the ears, near the neck). The rest of her makeup is ok. Hopefully it won't "grow" more. And I received her March 2020. So my hypothesis of a problem for the original Elle Athena was not correct...

I hope that you can get the makeup of your recent Doria repaired without too much damaging to the original one. Crossing fingers for you! :)

    34. @IngieBee I was also surprised to learn that the shipping cost are going to increase, especially if it's gradually become back to normal, but I think that companies are increasing their price to compensate for their money loss during lock-down. Maybe much later, prices will decrease a bit? (it's probably just wishful thinking here!)

      • x 1
    35. Yah, and the value of the dollar is dropping like mad, so I doubt there will be a reduction in shipping costs :( @lapivoine

    36. You still can! He's available through Doll Choice! That's how I got my gorgeous boy <3

    37. My new girl is here! She's a YID Rexy in glow peach gold. I made the dress using a 1950's Cissy pattern (Simplicity 1808 size 21") by adding about 1" to the bodice at the bust level and widening and shortening the skirt. The pattern called for just turning under the neck and armholes, but I used piping. It was just about the easiest pattern ever.

    38. And it's so cute! I love the piping detail, so pretty! @Violet Kidd ! Congratulations on getting Rexy. We don't see enough of them :D

    39. Oooh, I love that sweater design @ResinRapture I only learned to knit a little over a couple of years ago but still have not done anything so small. She looks gorgeous too :D

      • x 2
    40. Thank you @IngieBee . Since this is one of my bigger girls it didn't seem to be that small. At least not after sewing and knitting for 1/6 scale :D

      • x 1
    41. @ResinRapture - Yes the sweater is lovely! I like how it shows off her shape and is not bulky and hides it. Nice design also. The color suits her red hair. All good!

    42. I asked about Ebony skin for Doll Choice and Iplehouse added it in for this month! I was initially going to get SID Edan but then I saw that they are rereleasing the limited SIDs and fell in love with Dean, so I’m going to get him instead and get him dyed black with a purple tint to shell my FFXIV au’ra :XD: So if anyone is interested in grabbing Doll Choice for ebony skin, now is your chance!

      • x 2
    43. Oh I wish! I'm probably too broke to do any more this year, except I need some bodies :doh Luckily I don't think I need Taregan in ebony, but some day :love:wiggle:love:wiggle:love

    44. @luluna Thank you ;)

Another big girl who is happy with a new dress: Tabea got this tiered one in light green muslin.

    45. I love the cute neckline/turtleneck n flower. It's so cute! Did you make it @ResinRapture ?

    46. @IngieBee Thank you. Yes, I make all my doll's clothes.

    47. Hi guys!

Has anyone ordered a YID Claude? I love the Claude sculpt and I got SID Claude many years ago but I felt so overwhelmed by his size and had no clothes that fit him so I sold him. I was wondering if a smaller body like the YID would look good with his head, I really want to buy him

    48. @Arletstar I'd say go for it. Claude is a very young looking sculpt, so I think the more boyish looking YID body will go well with his face. I have a FID Claude, and I exchanged his original muscle body with the model body because his head looked better on slim shoulders.

      • x 1
    49. @ResinRapture always love Grace in RS skin, but your Grace looks so elegant in this skintone, is that normal?

@Arletstar I always wanted to order a YID Chris on the SID body instead (even Iplehouse won’t allow me to do so lmao)
Regarding Claude, same above, his faceup looks so young so he might be super proportional on the Yid boy body.

    50. Thank you so much guys!!! I'm going to order when I get my paycheck next week!!:fangirl:

    51. OOh, I love Claude, Glad you'll be adding to the numbers on this thread :D @Arletstar :D

    52. @Khlovera Thank you! She is normal skin.

    53. Speaking of SID heads on YID bodies, I always wondered which body is slimmer since I'm more into SD17 male bodies so the slimmer the better for me.

Is the SID model body slimmer than the YID? I was comparing their measurements and for some reason the SID model type seems to be slimmer or not?

    54. I don't own a SID Model body because I don't like it, but it does seem like it's skinnier than the nYID boy which I do own. I think of the nYID body as slender youthful body and I like the proportions much better on it, if you want a slender body.

[IMG] I got a SID Eric head on a nYID.

      @Khlovera

Just last night I actually switched the head of my nYID Oscar head on a SID muscular body to see if it would work since his FID mini me has a muscular body and in my opinion the head is just a tad too small for the neck knob. It doesn't surround it. It sits on top not covering it. To me it looked not quite right. Which is a bummer. You may run into the same situation with A Chris. Reason why Iple doesn't do it anymore. People were complaining that the heads did not fit the bodies quite right.

    55. Huh, I just realised I never shared a photo of my Leonard. This is Jack! He's currently borrowing the clothing and wig, and he might keep these eyes, but unsure at this stage.
