Thanks, guys! I'll have to take some photos in better lighting. It just gets dark so early now. Dean's a gorgeous sculpt. I'll do what I can to enable the rest of you.

 

Iplehouse has posted the holiday sale details - It starts on the 29th of November through Jan. 12th. Does anyone know how long the current waiting time is for orders from Iplehouse?

 

I believe it depends on the doll. FIDs are definitely the longest wait. Maybe 2-3 months in general for other dolls? I defer to others, just wanted to give you a ballpark. Of course, holidays extend the wait.

 

@Mahgiep Thank you for your reply- 2-3 months seems fair to me I have never ordered from Iplehouse before, so I wasn't sure if they were one of those companies that takes 6 months or longer

 

They definitely have one of the fastest turnarounds!

 

I ordered a blank EID Asa on 9/30 and am still waiting. Shouldn't be too much longer. Now I'm strongly considering an SID Mari during the sale, but I already bought another doll today so we'll see.

 

@Lotte Rotten - In my experience, anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 months is typical, but we may be looking at some 3 month waits right now. It's kind of hard to be sure when people don't update. Like Mahgiep said, it can definitely depend on what you order (and when). You can keep an eye on the Waiting Room List here if that helps!

 

I was just told by iplehouse I’m looking at a late December shipping date for my Asa.

 

with the sale getting in gear it can take long just due to the higher # of orders that happens.

 

Thanks to the event I am really tempted to order Leon - I was already tempted when he was first released this year, but didn´t do it due to serious space problems with these big dolls. I searched a bit but cannot find any owner pictures of him, except one, and on that he doesn´t look like Leon at all. Did anybody order him when he was first released?

@Sianserais Thank you for your reply- it's a good idea to check the Waiting room section, I will do that :3 Not having ordered from Iplehouse before, I just wanted to make sure that this company isn't like certain other companies that leaves people waiting for their dolls for a year or something crazy like that!

@Ashemanu I ordered Leon with a custom face up when he first came out, so I don't know if that would help you.

 

Yeah, Iplehouse tends to take about 2 to 3 months, although I once got one of mine in a month! It's not so bad.

I'm seriously considering getting either Lilly or Alyssa now that they've got the Limited Sale going on...I can only have one of them, though. Decisions, decisions...

 

I have seen your Leon on Flickr, he was the only one that turned up. I already guessed it was a custom face up, since he didn´t look like the promo pictures at all. Thanks for the hint

 

Sorry if this is a dumb question- but do all Iplehouse girls have very wide neck opening/neck holes?
I purchased a Soo head 2nd hand recently and the neck opening seems to require a body with a rather thick neck...I was a bit surprised by this- but I'm totally new to Iplehouse dolls...

 

@Lotte Rotten - Well, they're designed to have a bit of a gap, but it's true that IH necks tend to be thicker than what you see on most other companies' dolls.
Soo is a lovely sculpt - congrats!

 

@Sianserais Oh I see- thank you. The Soo head I purchased is from 2010 (according to the COA), so I thought maybe the design of the dolls were different back then with wider neck openings... but I guess not. Anyways, thanks again :3

@mustbemissa Your Dowen is wonderful! I love how he looks like a natural red head with the eyebrow color, and he looks just as good on the model body as he does on the muscular body too!

@collectionkate I love when you share your Alyssa lady, Ive seen some very beautiful Alyssa's lately, and she seems like a winner! Shes such a beautiful sculpt.. Im thinking maybe I should also get one in gray skin, because your beautiful lady is so tempting with that softer faceup

Her story is interesting, shes based on the Greek death god Thanatos. She comes with a sickle and a mask too!

I think she has a skull engraved on the inside of her head, based on the preview? She's definitely someone Im very interested in getting, she looks very promising and exciting! Im happy to see that Iplehouse hasnt given up on the Greek theme, but Im guessing it wont be too close to the Ancient Greek theme if she comes with a sickle and a mask.

I'm guessing you have not seen an iple doll (full doll) in person? Iple bodies in general are bigger. the neck of an iple body fits 'best' most other bodies necks will seem too small. Do some searching before committing to a body that is not Iplehouse.

 

Yeah.. Iplehouse doll heads, are hard to hybrid, specially the female heads because how deep the neck hole is sculpted onto the head

I always use one of those resin neck protectors (I dont know the official name of them, but this is a link to one I use Accessories for BJD Dolls - BJD Accessories, Dolls - Alice's Collections ) on a doll body before placing an iplehouse head, if the body isnt by iplehouse. It gives the neck length and makes the head sit better on the hybrid body

Its a necessary item for hybrids to me, I find myself using it quite a lot for my hybrids and body swap requests, it always improves them

 

i looked again... the 'flat' nose space or w/e part... I don't think that would go over a doll nose so... I'm with you and hope 2nd head! also it looks more like eye slots for actual eyes? oh well not like i can get it! ><

 

I like her lips. Will be interesting to see her all done up.

 

I’m in the same boat! I’d only be able to get her in the event of some kind of holiday hours miracle... which I won’t rule out, but it would have to be miraculous. She looks like she’s going to be spectacular though. I can’t wait to see what they do.

 

@GreenTeaSlug Neck doughnuts are definitely good to have! Thankfully the Soo head I purchased fits pretty well on a spare SIO2 display bust that I had- but I never knew that IH heads would be that difficult to hybrid because of the neck opening/requiring such thick neck. Oh well, you live, you learn I guess :3

Hello Angels,

I was wondering if anyone can help me?

I was recently on the website and saw that 'Pure White' color was introduced. However when I went to the basic dolls and the DC pages, it doesn't offer that color option. Is the 'Pure White' option only for certain sizes or limiteds? Has anyone brought home a doll in 'pure white' ? (I'd like to see pictures if possable.)

I asked them if they could add it to their CDS and regular line up but they told me they will not do it. If there is interest in it, you should definitely let them know, but only if you will actually buy it. Ive already told them I wanted it and this is the reply I got

"Sorry but we don't have plans to release Pure White skin on Doll Choice for now"

Theres a comparison on their website, but you need to be logged in to see it. I really like the pure white color, their regular white is very pinky and Im not in love with the yellow undertones of the glow white version.

@GreenTeaSlug Thank you so much for the information. I have seen the white resin comparison and I rather love the pure white color. A YID boy would be perfect in this stunning white.
Maybe in the future I will inquire about it with Iplehouse when I'm ready to make a purchase.

 

the thing with 'pure white' could be thier way to keep it (figuratively speaking) for special items to set them apart from the 'basic' line... they sorta did the same with 'grey'. They had different greys (rose, blue and one i can't recall) for only specific limited dolls. which definitely sets them apart. In a nutshell if anyone can get it for any doll it literally stops being 'special'. Note this is just my 'logic' as to how "I" would do it in a business... I mean really when you say limited but don't actually limit it...it's not limited...

That's the same response I got when I asked months ago. I'd like to get Bliss in pure white to be the "spirit" version of my PG girl, but ah well. I have plenty of doll projects right now, so it's not like I NEED yet another doll!

I like her mask, I like her fullset, but Im not too terribly excited about her face sculpt? Its beautiful, but I feel like Ive seen her before. Not offering gray skin is a missed opportunity for this release I feel, since she somewhat reminds me of the beloved Addiction series

The mask and sickle look really really cool, and so is the fullset outfit, Im very impressed by how regal it is!

Kali will be mine! I absolutely adore her look. Now I just have to decide about the skintone, nail blushing and such ... I am tempted by the scythe, but it´s so very expensive, and not really necessary if I am trying to be rational.
My original plan was to buy a Leon, but I guess he has to wait a year or so longer.

 

Kali reminds me of Mari....and that scythe is almost a character in itself.

 

Part of me wants that scythe just because the design is awesome! The dress is great, and the mask is definitely interesting. I'm just not really feeling the sculpt. She's lovely, honestly, but among all the other lovely dolls, she doesn't quite grab my attention. I'm sure she'll be just the right combination of attributes for some people, though!

 

I really like the Kali sculpt. To me, she has a feel of Isabel and Mari. Isabel more blank and Mari painted.
Agreed, this release should offer gray. I wondered if mentioned on the Q&A if they would consider it? Although if I ordered her I would probably choose real skin resin and the newer SID body, just add some variety to my collection. I hope to order a gray resin elf, someday. Ron looks really great, in the new EID outfit and dark wig. Also if anyone wants a peek at Dean in 'street clothes," instead of his limited set, he is wearing a new pair of black pants in the SID men's section.

Did you all see the notice for the points they are giving with the Kali full set order (with or without blushing) ---- 46 points. Wow, that is a lot, right? I looked back at a CDS female EID I ordered and It was only around 8 points.

46 points O_O ... oh dear... that is not good for a point demon like me. I have almost 250 saved as it is lol erg... and does no one else think she's like a younger softer looking Luna? I can see her being Luna's sister...This is the first doll that called to me this hard since Luna who was my first iple. ><

 

Just ordered Kali In normal skin with face up, hand brushing and the new body. The remarks about the resemblance to Mari made me a little bit unsure at first, cause I had a Mari, sold her and never regretted it. But in the end the resemblance was not close enough to deter me from spending my money on her The scythe would have been the cream on the cake, but my wallet sure can live without it!

I'm hoping for another GO ... there are a couple dolls left on the wishlist, the last one I got was Rachel in last year's GO and so it's about time for another doll, right?

 

I love Kali’s mask and all of her Fullset, and I even like the nSID for a character, but her face for some reason doesn’t work for me. I’m toying with getting her in WS anyway and throwing a floating head on

 

Iplehouse truly will listen to their fans, I requested grey skin to be added and I log on to find it as an option, so for those interested, that option has now appeared on the skin options

I will be ordering her in gray as a fullset, but Ill be keeping the mask for another doll, and the scythe with the dinosaur skull for another doll. I debated asking them for a custom faceup with veins, but I think its better if I do the veining on the body and face myself since Iple doesnt do custom body blushing, and I would need it all to look similar. Ive ordered her in a custom faceup because her face, like Khlovera said, is very beautiful but the faceup doesnt click with me. Its expensive to get the scythe, but its so cool looking and in a way, its like getting a 46 in cashback through points so its a little easier to justify lol! Plus, I want them to continue making weapons and fantasy sets so its better to support ideas I like for them to continue. Plus getting her as a limited vs doll choice is better for me because of the layaway option.

@Ashemanu congratulations, seeing your beautiful dolls, Im actually excited to see how you will present her. Did you get her with the faceup or are you going to give her a custom look?

@GreenTeaSlug She will be beautiful in grey, I think! I debated long with myself if I should take her with a faceup or not. Normally I never choose the company face up, exception is Souldoll. But I really liked the lips on this one, and lips are the most important part of the face up for me. So I went for it. Maybe I will ask my face up artist later if she could do a few modifications to make her unique. So far I only chose some very special (and a bit scary) eyes for her. I didn´t buy any of the other options since I am still thinking about getting Leon - maybe in January with layaway. Two big dolls - I must be losing my mind ^^

Is there anyone has tried to put a SID male head on the EID body? I remember that in the beginning of the year when I checked the DC system there’s still a bunch of head sculpts available for EID or SID man, but now there’s only a few of them. I would like to see how an Edan on EID body looks like. I wrote to IP on the QA board and they told me that they are no longer doing this because it’s not compatible but why were they able to do so before? Im confused

 

@Khlovera SID Male Heads don't work on the EID Male body. The heads that used to be sold with SID Male bodies were women and they also stop doing so because someone complained about not fitting right. Or something to that effect.

 

@Bren thanks a lot for the detailed answer. I’ve seen a few SID girl head on boy body and they all look so stunning! I ordered Mari in normal and Harace in PG separately at the beginning of the month, both with mobility tight and on the new body (I personally prefer the look of the old body but would like to sacrifice the look for good mobility) but still keep an eye on the HID man I’m so insatiable

you are welcome. I do love the HID body, but they are massive. Yep. me like them. LOL

I love Mari and Harace. They are both wonderful sculpts. You will be pleased. I'm not a fan of the new body. I also prefer the older bodies and I rather have them than mobility. But then I like curves on my dolls.

 

Having recently returned from been away from the hobby due to health issues, I missed out on quite a bit. But I have questions and requests.

I have a Noctarcana Circus Luna Tamer girl named Twyla (with all the human and catgirl parts) that I would like to update. From what I understand, she has an old EID body and that there's now a newer version of her body.

So what I'm asking is this: what's the difference between the old and new EID female bodies? Did they fix the ankle problem? The knees? Do they stand better? Did they fix the arms? Did they fix all of the standing and poseablity problems? Will her 2010 EID head fit on a newer EID body? If there are comparison and/or posing pics of the old and new female EID bodies, could someone direct me to them?

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should put her on a new gray body, even though her human head undoubtedly won't match. When I have her feline head faceupped, at least I could have it matched to a newer body...if it will work on it, that is. Not to mention I'm not even sure if her feline parts will work on a newer body. But I digress.

Personally, I would keep her as is. I dont know much about her, but shes a grail to many and Ive seen her name come up a lot, specially people who want her as a fullset with her cat parts. I would not upgrade her body (other than the huge resin difference, there is the lack of magnets for the tail?). The resin difference is really huge, the new iplehouse gray is light lilac than a gray.

I would if anything, wash her up and use a melamine sponge to clean her to bring her old sparkle back. Restring her, and wire her strings too. Hot glue suede her ankles, shoulders and elbows and that fixes most of her "old body charm".

If you really really really want to upgrade, I would go for the HID woman instead. I always believed that the new HID woman is an updated EID woman. She stands better because they completely changed her ankle design and its a lot more sturdy. Her hip sockets have more grooves? or better engineering, it stays in place. Her shoulders and elbows is solid, it holds poses easy and does not need any sueding to stay put. If you are going for the HID woman, I would suggest you get the medium or small bust, Ive been having difficulty dressing her with the large bust, even Iplehouse HID woman clothes wont fit it right if its not stretchy. The measurements for HID woman is very similar to EID woman, they can share clothes + the heads are interchangeable and look natural between the two.

Ill be honest, HID woman is not a great poser (as most Iplehouse bodies - except the new model version of SID man/woman, those are great posers) but is leagues better than EID woman. Get the mobility joint because it helps and is worth the extra $20.
