I would really love to see iplehouse using dealers like BJDivas! I would order so many dolls! These dolls are extremely pricey and very hard to pay for all at once. I'm sure there would be a huge amount in sales increase if people were able to do long layaways with dealers. I would also really love to see more fantasy sculpts in the big dolls. I always purchase the big fantasy girls and adore them but there aren't many at all. I'd kill for a come back of the chimera cat girls!!

 

I think a friendlier layaway option would definitely being in more customers. I finally placed an order for an Iplehouse Mari not too long ago, but I assure you, had you partnered with a dealer (such as BJDivas) I would ha e purchased her much sooner. Definitely consider it please! Also more clothing options would be good .

 

Hi @maro - I love Iplehouse dolls, but why is there no layaway option for Doll Choice? It's a huge deterrent for me, as it means I would have to put a whole chunk of my doll budget to only get 1 doll while if you offer layaway, I could stretch the budget a little bit more and maybe get more than 1 doll.

I understand there may be risk of customers cancelling the doll choice order in the middle of a layaway, but I think you can put layaway rules to minimize this risk. I know some companies do not start to make the dolls until all layaway payments are paid, you can maybe adapt the same rule. And if customers really cancel in the middle of layaway, you won't be stuck with their cancelled doll. You can also apply a penalty fee for cancellation. I think most people will consider carefully on getting into a layaway if there is a chance to lose their paid money should they cancel the deal.

Thank you for offering to listen to our suggestions! My one suggestion is that you partner up with BJDIVAS please! If you did this I know you would sell so many more dolls. I wod be able to participate in limited sculpts as well

 

I love your dolls but trying to afford them is difficult. Please consider having a dealer like BJDivas who offers long layaways to help us collectors afford our favorite dolls.

I noticed that new dolls have LB and DB resin available when they are released. Please make LB and DB available when Limited dolls are back on sale. It would also be great if you worked with BJDivas as a dealer.

 

Personally, I would absolutely love for there to be more JIDs! Particularly boys, but I would be very happy with girls too! I mostly collect dolls in the 40-50cm range, so more options for JID would be amazing! I already have a JID boy and I love him

 

Thank you so much for offering to listen to suggestions! I don’t own an iplehouse yet, but I’m interested in buying heads only (I don’t have much space for big dolls neither the money for them). If you decide to sell heads only, it’d be great if they came with COA.
Another option is to offer layaways or partner with BJDivas (they offer long layaways ) This way it would be easier to buy full dolls.

 

Hi @maro ! I am a huge fan of Iplehouse dolls and would love to see some of the themed dolls like The Addiction, Carved Heritage, etc. come back even if its for a limited time only. So many gorgeous dolls! It would also be great if you could start selling heads and also to have a wider variety of pets like a guinea pig, hamster, rat, mouse. Wishing you all the best!

@maro A couple of things I can think of right off:

1. Improving posing ability. These dolls are BEAUTIFUL. I have two JID, but hardly ever play with them because their posing is impossible, with or without mobility joints.

2. Please, a USA dealer!! BJDivas is the main dealer I buy through whenever I can! They are fantastic to work with! In the past, I've avoided ordering simply because I don't like buying directly from your site. A dealer would make it so much easier!

3. I'm going to echo the selling of heads and bodies separately! I love a lot of the sculpts you have, but the posing with the bodies deters me from buying at all. Conversely, I need a big beefy man body like EID, but none of the sculpts fit my character that I have in mind. Hybrids are an amazing thing!

1. I agree with everything people have said about BJDDivas as a vendor, but also, is it possible to offer layaways for Doll Choice in the future? Most of my wishlist would be purchased from there, and with no layaways it becomes very difficult to save up for the doll + clothing and accessories, let alone because I like to buy more than one doll at a time per purchase.

2. If you could, I'd love to see more casual fashion clothes for your SDs, the FIDs seem to get most of the attention lately(which is fine, they are very pretty) but I'm not one for MSDs or fashion dolls.

3. Please, if you can, could you offer a HID Man carrying bag? I've got several on my wish list, but with no bag to fit them from your site it would make them difficult to carry around or take to meetups and show other people your work!

4. Personally I don't agree with offering heads for sale separately, as I worry people might be less inclined to purchase your full dolls and affect your company for the long run. Maybe just a few extra heads monthly offered, like doll choice? That way people would get the options(as I know your heads are in high demand, so gorgeous ) and still purchase your full dolls.

5. Jointed hands!! Oh please, especially for the EID/HID!

While I do love that we get a chance to relay our wishes to Iplehouse’s rep, I would love it if this thread would be used for the discussion it’s meant for.

 

@maro Thank you for asking your customers! Here's my opinions for improvements to make in the future:

1. Have a North American dealer, BJDivas is great and would offer customers layaway option so that more people could own Iplehouse dolls.

2. Sell heads separately, not everyone has the space for as many large dolls as they would like and having the option to have just heads to switch onto bodies would be great.

3. New JID body and more clothing for JIDs, my JID boy is very difficult to pose so he just sits on my shelf even though he is cute. There is less clothing and shoes being made for this size and it is hard to dress the boys since they don't fit other doll company's clothing.

 

I was chatting with some dolly friends the other day and we were wishing for some sleep head/closed eyed heads of some of the sculpts like you did for Akando way back when..Maybe one or two of the ladies?.(It would be nice if we could get just a sleep head...since it would match a sculpt and character I already have.)

And also for an EID male Elf...(Rex would be awesome!)

I’m a fan of your dolls, owning many of the HID & EID clothing pieces as well as 2 of your HID boys which I love.
I always come to you first when looking for clothing for my HID boys & even clothing I can use on my other 70cm guys.
I’d love to be able to do extended layaways like BJDivas.com offers if I want to purchase another HID boy or new wardrobe pieces for my current boys without taxing my budget. Please consider allowing them to further help your sales to allow them to sell your items. Thank you so much.

Hi everyone! I just bought my first YID Iplehouse, a secondhand YID Rexy from around 2015. She came unstrung, so I went ahead and purchased some YID elastic from Iplehouse and restrung her. However, she’s still not a good poser — very floppy, knees buckling. Wiring helps a bit and I’m willing to suede, but I’m wondering if this is a me issue or an Iplehouse issue. Am I just not stringing tight enough somehow? Should I buy thicker elastic?

All else failing, are there any other doll bodies that look good with peach gold skin and YID heads? thanks for any help!!

 

@kellyemm - Congratulations on your 'new' nYID Rexy. If she is floppy you need to tighten the elastic. Sometimes you really have to put some muscle into doing that to get it the right tension.

I'd like to see:

More mature female heads with a serious/cool expression.

FID elves. My preference is for normal elf ears that stand upright.

YID boy body (or a similar new sculpt) for FID men.

SID Alyssa's outfit was awesome and I'd be excited to see more outfits like this for FID and HID women.

I would love to have more options for the FID sized dolls. Your sculpts are all astoundingly gorgeous, truly beautiful and I hope to see more sculpts in the future.

I love your dolls but my main reason for not buying them has been two things: heads are not sold separately, and body posing.

I love to hybridize heads and bodies since I like having variety in my body types, even when my heads are from the same company. Most other companies I order from offer to sell the heads alone, which is more affordable to me and allows me to do more with the dolls than I otherwise would. I have been interested in a handful of your sculpts, but have not been convinced to buy.

Your bodies are beautiful but I am a collector that loves poseability. I like natural and flexible poses, as well as solid standing and sitting positions. This is related to my issue with the heads, as I prefer to mix and match heads and bodies from companies I like. The posing on these bodies is stiff, and they are not easy to pose in natural positions.

Additionally, please consider working with a dealer! BJDivas is a wonderful dealer that I work with personally all the time. It would make your products more accessible to us overseas

Here are my suggestions:

1) Be able to buy single heads
Often people can't afford a full doll but would gladly buy a single head. Sometimes people want to have the same character with different make-ups, but not two full dolls for it. Sometimes people want a different body for their character than the one Iple offers for it.
I think being able to buy single heads would be my, and many others, biggest wish. Please make sure to include certificates this time though!

2) Older faces!
Iplehouse guys at least can sometimes be painted to look 35+ years or older, but I would love to have some male and female faces that are not youthful. More wrinkly, more gritty.
A fitting body (or body parts that can be changed in the order, like "old looking hands" or "older looking chest part" instead of youthful type) would be great on top!

3) Purchase limited outfits and parts separately
Your full sets are often gorgeous, but one can't buy every doll just because the outfit or extra part is beautiful.
Instead offer that people can buy a limited outfit or weapon, armor, accessoire etc. without having to buy the doll. We want our Iple dolls to look good without having to buy an extra doll on top all the time.

4) Cheaper shipping for small orders
We don't need EMS for a single wig for example. Airmail is enough.

5) More diversity
Iplehouse is already better at this than most, but I would love to see more ethnicities represented again. You guys were one of the first back then to make African looking BJDs, and I think nowadays the market is better suited for it.

6) Contests
Just an idea, but the doll company Granado makes regular contests every year where people can win prizes, like a head of their choice.
Photography, face-up etc. contests would be nice.

 

Most of my dolls are Iplehouse FIDs so I don't have much experience outside of them. I don't seem to have poseability issues with my FIDs. They can fall over at times while finding the center of gravity. I let the doll find a stable pose rather than forcing my idea on the doll. Physics. Once I set the ankles and hips I have lots of freedom to twist the body, set double joints, head angles, hand positions.etc. Although I don't leave them standing for long periods, I never have understood the complaints. Since getting my first older EID, I see that they are much harder to pose due to the weight. Just my 2 cents.

hello! @maro I'm a fan of realistic sculpts which is why I fell completely in love with your sculpts but I also love modding I tend to sculpt and add parts. But as it stands, heads and bodies are not sold separately which is extremely limiting for me. It would be great if you have head only or body only events once in a while since even the doll choice option only comes as a full doll.

Is it possible to buy just a body (no head) at Iplehouse?

 

I thought you could order sculpts in any resin colour via the Doll Choice option?

 

Hi everyone,

I've noticed a difference in EID female doll height info when I looked the wiki here on DoA and compared that to what they have on Iplehouse's home page. The wiki states they are 65cm (same as it says about HID female, as a matter of fact) but Iplehouse gives a precise 62,5cm.

I was wondering if some EID owners could help me out and let me know which measure is correct (with flat feet!), or if there's some other explanation to the two different measures popping up.

I just looked in doll choice and saw all the resin colors showing. You can only order from Doll Choice from the 1st to the 15th of each month or on months they have a special and it is open all month (which is usually December). It should be open again in less than 24 hours.

 

I didn't know that that option existed and it's gated behind a log in. Which yes I could make a log in and look. But unless you had said something I would have never known about doll choice options.

 

Hello @maro, I imagine you're having tons of feedback. I think most points have come across nicely, I'd like to repeat one that has been said only once: make cheaper shipping options available, at least for clothes and accessories, this way you'd be able to sell more clothes and maybe put more choice of clothing and shoes available for your gorgeous dolls (that are NOT easy to dress...).

I have a BID, a KID, a JID and I've recently come into possession of a YID too ^^... so I know the problem, especially for JIDs and YIDs!!

I totally agree!!!!! I would love it as well. Also...a dress form would be lovely!

 

But the Doll Choice option is literally the first thing you see on the top banner, even if you don't have a login, the option is still always visible. It's only when you click on it that you are prompted to log in.

 

Is it so hard to believe that I never noticed it? I was looking at the left hand side bar. Honestly the white text one green is a little difficult for me to read at first glance.

No need to get your elastics in a knot, I am hyper-aware of details when the colour green is involved. I'm very drawn to it, so the banner is always the first thing I see on their site.

Ive been wanting a Marien for some time, and I loved how long her neck looked on the new Model body (in the IPLE BJD section for SID Rachel if anyone else wants to see that hybrid) so Im getting one in white

Has anyone else noticed that Victor is in the doll choice for HID Men? He is marked as a sold out option though, so I hope its not a mistake, because I would love to see Victor back again! Victor and my HG renewal Kamau would be a dream come true (so I can finally have him in LB and style him as Slash from Guns n Roses!)

This is great that you are asking us this. I have many IP dolls and love them. Regarding selling heads, I can understand that you want to sell complete dolls and not have someone buy one and then 6 heads for it, but I would at least like to see on all the dolls with fantasy head options the ability to buy both the fantasy and standard heads. I think you are doing this with the new Creea as I recall.

You now have vampire FID dolls I love and would buy a male and female if I could get both heads for them, but I do not want to buy 4 dolls to get the heads and then have to try to sell off 2 extra bodies. So for at least cases where the same doll has multiple head options it would be really nice.

 

Thanks for checking this! It's not that big of a difference, but it's always better to know for sure when looking for clothes and stuff like that.

 

@Rosakaz I always thought of HID woman as a version 2 of EID, they are very similar and share clothes without any problem, the only difficulty is that HID L Bust will not fit most of the EID women tops, otherwise, everything is interchangeable. Plus HID has the new amazing ankle joint that makes standing and posing easier, so if you are thinking of getting one of the two, theres that to think about

 

@GreenTeaSlug Good point! I was actually quite torn between which one to get as I read about the upgraded ankle joints, but I chose the slightly smaller basic EID in the end. She might need some sueding or other fixes, but I'm quite prepared for that.

 

I have the same feeling. I want to buy ELF Grace, but I already have a Grace and I only need the head. There is little room for too many full dolls.

 

I read on a different Iplehouse thread that usually during the Winter Event Iplehouse brings back some limited edition dolls for a short run. Do they usually bring back lines like the Carved Heritage line? Trying to figure out if I should wait and build a particular doll in that line through the Doll choice (which means saving up $1000+ in one go) or maybe having the option of a layaway at the winter event! Thanks for any help.

Also, I’d LOVE the option to buy standalone heads or bodies. I have a secondhand nYID girl I love but she really could use a new body. Her skintone is Peach Gold and I’m having trouble matching her to a good hybrid. Being able to update her body would be fantastic!

 

@kellyemm - Iple will usually bring back limited items that they released earlier in that year...at the end of the year...though, last year or the year before they did do the Carved Heritage sculpts event over a year after the sculpts...but not the outfits....I would doubt they would have a special Carved Heritage event again...in part because the sculpts are available in Doll Choice....

But they do sometimes have events for Doll Choice where you can use layaway and or purchase them for the same price as Basics. I like to buy something during those events.

 

Tbh I always love how IP make beautiful dolls, But their outfit choice so limited. My EID girl had her clothes tailored and each outfit had me wait for months. But it still unfit some time (specially the butt area). I just wish they have more clothes

 

I hope Iplehouse could make more outfits for their dolls.
