Oh yeah, SRS is such a nice almost cocoa tone! It's lovely in person and is actually darker than my Luts Brown and Myou Coffee.

 

Will Iple have their summer sale this July?

Thank you. I'm glad that you like them. Some of those are my favorites. And yes gRS is darker hued. Very beautiful in real life. My favorite skin color are RS and Lt brown. The majority of my collection are of those two colors. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

I just reread that Lahela is one that stole your heart and may be your 2nd doll. I love her as well. She stole my heart in the in the original Lt brown but since you seem interested in the RS color . Here is one of her in RS with French resin.

 

Checking on what happened last year, Iple have normally released some details by now...

 

We hope so, but so far it's been quiet on their end.

I saw they added a few to the basic line but nothing further.

 

She actually looks great in almost any Skin color, but yeah. RS and Lt brown slay me.

If you are talking about that ad with Lahela, Mari and Edan, as new line up, it's an old ad since they have been basic for a while now.

 

Ah, good to know, I wondered about that but could not remember.

Is there a guide or how-to on ordering custom make-up on the site? It says to purchase and then get on the Q&A board but there are 11 different options to choose from and I'm not sure how to proceed.

 

Actually you need to go Support and in the Q & A, post what you are wanting in your custom face, if you got ideas with pics or what not, add them and they will get back to you with the price. It not like they use to do it in the olden times where there were fix prices.

 

AH ok, thank you, as their instructions are a bit vague.

 

Some things have changed. Before they had only two prices for custom face ups, but I believe it got very complicated with people wanting all sorts of things and now they ask the face up artists how much time it will take for them to create what you want and based on that, the price is based. Logically speaking, financially it's sound. You would spend more time changing the whole face than just say adding freckles, or changing the shape of an eyebrow.

 

Makes total sense. Now I have to decide if I want Claude or Eric as they are so similar and yet so different. Any pics to share of these two in RS to sway me?

PS. I should add that I have Eric on a nYID body instead of his regular SID body. He is the youngest brother.

Here's my dilemma. I like Claude's lips and cheeks more. But I prefer Eric's nose. Maybe it's the angles I've seen them at in pics, but Eric's face looks fuller in the cheeks than Claude's.

 

hee, hee. Yeah. The dilemma we face with our dolls. Eric to me has always been like a younger version of Claude.

 

I can definitely see that. I'm attempting to shell an old character and I'm torn between the 2 sculpts. I ordered an Iplehouse Dylan but his features are too sharp for what I'm looking for.

I'm leaning towards Eric for this character, I just love Claude though.

I can totally see Eric as a good candidate for your character. The smaller nose.

 

Hm, in lack of the event it seems that I will not be ordering the long awaited HID Aurora, again. If I only had known that I should just have ordered her in january with the same price that would now be her event price... I could have her already, but no, I decided to wait for summer event and then the corona situation came. But, it cannot be helped and I'm not the only one whose plans were changed due to this exceptional situation. Maybe I'll fall for some other HID girl second hand before the next sale and sew her a SWAT set myself.

 

I'm in the same boat, exactly^^ Of course it is quite true that Covid caused all sorts of hardships for BJD companies too, and Iplehouse was struggling before because of the r3cast situation.
But when I look at all the summer event notices of comparable companies going up now I can't help thinking that it could be a mistake for Iplehouse to not offer incentives. There must have been more people in the world who were holding out for it, but for anybody less set on a specific company there are many other good opportunities around now so that people's doll money might even rather be going elsewhere. Maybe IH felt that granting discounts after just having raised their prices might counteract their intentions too much.

 

I saw in a FaceBook Iplehouse group that Iple will have their "summer event" in august!

Well, here's to hoping! I live in a country where EMS hasn't shipped for probably 5 months now, so I can wait for a good deal at this point. I know friends also waiting for their Iple parcels to be shipped, and no one here really gets it why EMS doesn't accept parcels to Finland because we send EMS mail there normally and we would accept all EMS mail from there normally. Other companies like FedEx work fine. I hope Iple would use it as an option.

 

Soooo, the Iplehouse website is down and not working? Or is it just me?

 

@cyranstar - just checked and it's crashed.

 

I can't enter the site too. I've tried different browsers and gadgets.

 

It's saying it's crashed for me too. Oh dear.

 

We've actually seen this error before, or at least one very similar to it. Last time they got it up and working again soon after they got back in to work. so... hopefully in a matter of hours?
(Watch, I'll have jinxed it by saying that. )

My girl's head arrived!
This is my EiD Asa in SRS, Sizzy. Now to figure out what eyes fit best in her.

 

Well, I did it. I took the plunge and ordered a Claude.
I ordered custom make-up for the first time from Iple so I'm crossing my fingers. I edited Dane A lips to Dane B face-up to make a composite for Claude. I also edited the eyeshadow colors to neutral grays and blacks instead of brown. Linking below with the character inspiration I sent as well.

cyranstar, your Dylan is in NS...If I remember correctly? He's a great sculpt...I think he would be nice in all resin tones.

 

Does Iple still make dolls in ebony resin? It's not in the CDS right now but think I read somewhere that they alternate months with it?

 

Yes, they still make ebony resin...but it seems only at certain times of the year. I don't think it is even alternate months...frequency.

Claude and Eric would make amazing identical twins on their SID bodies. I had not thought of that, I guess because I thought Eric looked a little smug to me. Yours doesn't. I may have to think about an Eric now.

I hardly ever take good doll photos but I forgot to share one of the rare ones that came out decent. This is my SRS EiD Asa, Sizzy. Still trying to figure out what eyes work best for her. The eyeco ones I had ended up being too big.

@mustbemissa - I ordered a Dean last month and am excited to see more owner pictures, so thank you! Is he on the SID model body by chance (which is what I selected)?

 

@VeraLyne Yay! More Deans! Congratulations! He's on the muscle body here, but I bought him on the model body. I don't think you'll be disappointed! It poses really nicely, and the elbows are so much better than the older muscle body. His character just needed to be a bit beefier, so I switched them for that.
