I have to say ImplDoll never really interested me until I saw Adela. My heart melted at her sweet, adorable face. I love her ears. Her horn is cute, but I don't like sculpting that it is coming out of. It looks like she has...well, a lady part on her forehead Perhaps a wig with bangs would help. She is on my wishlist regardless.

 

I didnt, I plan on doing her face-up myself. Mostly because I have plans for her being dark red or dark purple accented. Personally, I like the horn tho. If you look at the boy (Devin) with a similar horn I think its actually suppose to fit upside down. Her face is gorgeous though. The most stunning sculpt I've seen so far (and I'm already looking for my next doll). So I will post an box opening when she comes and link it here if you want to see.

 

It's been over 3 weeks since my boy arrived, so it's about time I started posting some pictures I've taken up till now for those of you hoping to see some Sam spam!

Here's the first my of dear deer boy, who's still nameless:


Baakay: I've found the magnets for his horns will work, even with a wig and wig cap, though they're somewhat weak.
I stuck the bigger ones (to the inside) of his headcap with a piece of tape, and used 2 of the small magnets on top of eachother for each of the horns.
Tomorrow I want to try sticking the bigger ones under the wig cap instead, but the horns did manage to stay on for the last 2 weeks this way too.

Hope to post more of him here and his box opening in the coming days.

 

I had the same, which is something I have with most dolls at first. That's why I like to take some pictures before (as well as during) giving face-ups and experiment a little to try and find what I like and "see" in a sculpt.


Shortly after he got here, I exprimented with light a bit, and that's when I knew I could capture what I personally love about him.
I'm often amazed by how different dolls look in pictures compared to what you see in real life, like instead of losing dimensions you actually gain whole new ones.

 

Lovely Sam spam...I'm still anxiously awaiting my crew of dolls..can't wait to receive them all and start working on face-ups and clothing. I have a name (I think) for my Greta and possible my Trista, still searching for the boys (Sam and Teno).

 

Well my Sam is definitely a keeper at this point He's gotten a wee bit ignored in the influx of resin (my Hound arrived in the meantime, as did a surprise birthday gift, a Batchix Lagoon!) but when I was trying wigs on him I discovered a squirrelly old orangey-brown furwig from years ago. I've always loved the wig but didn't find anyone to look good in it... when I put it on him it was ALL OVER. I did decide to deepsix the front tuft though. Not really convinced about that.

Now to give him a face-and-hoof-up!

 

Thanks Kitty Blue! Gosh I can understand how excited and anxious you must be with all of them coming pretty soon, and with the prospect of so much fun work ahead of you!

Some more explorational Sam-spam from before his face-up. I’ve started on that and now need to finish the final part and start on his body and hooves next.

The wig thing sounds pretty familiar here too: I had a dollmore wig that I liked but thought I’d never be able to use, because on all my other dolls it looked like it had too many layers on top. But with the shape of Sam’s head I think it just looks nearly perfect for what I had in mind for him.
Hope you’ll post pictures of your boy when you’re ready to!

 

Your sam is extremely handsome. I wasn't fond of him until I saw these pictures and here I am trying to convince myself I don't need another doll. Well I don't mind that being in vain as much as my budget does.

I like your Sam very much. Could I ask you some questions about him?
Is your Sam in pink skin or in real skin? Could you show some photos of your Sam in day light or in bright light? How mobile (flexible) are joints of Sam's back legs?

My Sam is in pink skin. I'll try to take some pictures tomorrow and post his boxopening pictures so you can see a bit more of him in daylight conditions.

His hind legs are mobile enough for me. I'm o.k. with the amount of mobility in the joint in the hooves. There's a bit less in the 'knee' joint at the moment, but if I wire it, I'm sure that one will hold certain poses better (poses in which his leg is held up straight to the back without touching the floor), but it's not the most crucial joint for me. I still have to check up on 'natural' deer/horse poses a bit to see what kind of movement would be possible in a real animal.

The thigh joint (the one going into the body) is fine, and he can even stand on his hind legs unaided.

One other thing that really impressed me is that there isn't even a smidge of seam to be found on his entire body!
The resin is super smooth, which I've found many people like, personally however I prefer a little tooth to resin, but some extra MSC will help with that.

 

I'm looking forward to see new pictures of Sam. I was pleasantly surprised by you saying that his hind legs, especially the knees joints, are mobile enough. And if you don't mind, could you take some photos of his hind legs in different poses?

 

Long long ago I promised pics of Sam and never got around it.
Today I finally was able to start his blushing... and then the sealer run out XD
He's looking okay thought (still needs 1-3 more layers for the effect I wanna, but...). Oh and the wig is a temporary one ;P

She's a cutie isn't she? She was released early September. At least one person in this thread has ordered her but I don't think she's been shipped out to anyone yet. I definitely plan on getting her too. I had kind of written Impldoll off as a company with sculpts I don't care for until I saw Adela; it was love at first sight

 

More Sam Spam...yay! lol... yep I'm am anxiously awaiting. I still have a way to go they said 8-12 weeks from DDE. Which at the moment is ok since I've been so busy with other stuff lately that my poor dolls have been neglected. I think when I get a free moment or maybe during break at work I'll start sketching out some clothing ideas for all of them.

 

Snowy, I wonder if your Sam in tan skin?

I like Sam more and more with each time I see him. And I'm thinking of going for him.

 

@Gael: Yes, my Sam is in light tan I knew I had to have him the moment I saw him XD I was surprised by the difference of him without the FU when I first unwrapped him, but I totally wouldn't switch him out for any of the other heads XD

I'm hoping to get my colors and sealer soonish (preferably this weekend, but I don't think it will be THAT fast ^^°) Also he really needs to get 'his' wig :3

Just received my Trista and Sam today...and uh well wow they are waaaayy shorter than I expected, I was going by the measurements on their site that says 44/46cm and they are only a mere 39cm tall! So yea I'm not so certain about my 2. On the plus side the resin color combinations are gorgeous. Trista has a dark tan body and normal upper human body and Sam is grey deer body upper white..I may attempt blushing etc just to see, but I'm not certain they are going to fit into the rest of my crew and the characters I had for them. Time will tell.

 

Oh I'm loving seeing all these awesome fawns! And Snow you did a wonderful job on the blushing!

 

@KittyBlue: Oh, that are interesting Color combinations. And well... Yes, they ARE Shorter. With the deer body. If you order them with the normal 'human' body for that line, they are 46 cm ^^°

 

But they don't have that listed on their site is the problem I have, they should have deer measurement and human body measurements..I seriously would have reconsidered buying them. Even on the deer body only they have it listed as 44cm. They are actually 38 and 38 1/2cm.

Where did you order them from that you were able to specify different human body and deer body colors (i read through the rest of the thread, but I may have missed it)?

 

Well I originally asked Impdoll directly, but then remembered that Denverdoll carried Impdoll so I sent the special request to them to save on shipping.
I was on the fence a bit on them when they first arrived since they are very very short only 38cm tall not 44-46cm like the website states, (the measurements on their site are for the human body not deer)..but they are starting to grow on me and trying to find a place to fit in my resin crew. I'm patiently waiting for better weather (and when I'm not so busy with real life stuff) so I can get them blushed like I have planned. I still need to get the magnets glued in the horns as well.

I'm actually playing around with the idea of buying her a deer body. She is just so wild I feel it really fits her.

 

I love the concept for Neo but the horns are just too close together.

 

Love her ears..If you are thinking about the deer body just beware that it is much much shorter than the normal human body she'll only be about 38cm tall with the deer body. I could totally see Adela on a mermaid body.

 

OMG Neo looks amazing! This is so unfair, they're all so cute, and these owner pictures are not helping me! I love Neo's ears! And the horns are wonderfully detailed, though i agree that they seem a bit close together in those pictures...Hopefully once we see more pictures, we'll be able to see them from different angles! AHHH I love the IMPL Young line

 

I'm loving the look of Neo except for one thing -- WHY did they carve into his head? and only on one side? I know the magnets for the horns will work over a wig and through the resin just fine, and I prefer not being "told" where they need to go.

Still. He's adorable. All I have so far is Sam (and I really need to take some pictures, dangit... I'm TERRIBLE at that). I could easily go for one of each. And I need another doll like I need a third nostril.

 

From what i can see, there are two indents for the horns, not just the one. It's really hard to tell from the photos.

 

I dont think I'd mind her being shorter actually. She's already shorter then my other girls. And getting the blush the hair around the hoofs to match her ears would be too much fun.

Yep, I finally could see that in some of the alternate pictures on the site. But what's really exciting to me is the note I just saw under Neo's listing that says they'll do the head *without* the horn grooves if you let them know you'd prefer that!!

Now I just need to figure out who gets rehomed... I really can't justify another doll unless I reduce the herd a bit

 

In process of buying fridayismycat's Trista head. The pics on the site are horrid, but she actually has a cute face. Gonna be using it for faceup practice, but I think a RS hybrid might be in order.

 

Does anyone have a Cassie in Dark Tan, or even just a Cassie in general?

I'm looking for a black (or African-American) doll, and these seem to be very hard to find at an inexpensive price for MSDs. A Google search for pictures brought up no results. Does no one like Cassie?

 

Hi, I have a question for the impldoll collectors, is the doll company's resin of a good quality? is it comparable to the resin of other doll companies like LUTS,Souldoll, and etc ? Just asking as I'm quite curious about it.

 

I'm not an expert on resins and I'm not quite certain what you mean by quality, but I don't see any difference in my Impldoll compared to other companies I have which are Doll Chateau, Resinsoul, Souldoll, 5stardoll, Angel of Dream. They are very smooth, no seam lines, pretty solid.

On a side note I hot glue sueded my Trista's deer body and was able to briefly get her to stand up on her hind legs, haven't had a chance to upload my photos yet, but I plan on doing a gallery comparing her to my DC Alberta and Soom Zinc. I'll post a link and photo here later this weekend.

 

Kitty-Blue,Thanks for the info, you've actually answered my question, I was actually quite concern about the yellowing of the resin, whether do they yellow fast. Cause from my knowledge, some of the company's resin ages fast, so I was kinda wondering if it's the same for impldoll. But anyways thanks for the descriptions of the beauty aspects of the doll. It was quite helpful

Hey, guys, I have a question! Somebody told me the Deer body's back legs were not jointed. Is this true?

 

It is not true - they're most definitely jointed. What they're not is jointed in the same way that the front legs are, because of the angle they take (being deer legs, after all ) but they can and do move. And the hooves move quite a lot (thank you, hotglue sueding!).

They may look non-jointed in some pictures because they're actually very well designed and sit very firmly in that default position. It's good for stability.

Hello everyone! I've had my Devin in Dark Tan since earlier this year and thought I should share him.

They do pose really well and and he's pretty much stable though I do have issues with how he sits since he has a habit of falling backwards. I've never seen a Devin with Dark tan before so I'm posting this so people can see too. I really fell for him the moment I saw him though he's not really 46. He's more of a 44cm doll. The horn magnet isn't strong enough to keep his horn on his head so I ended up gluing it there.

 

Got my early 21st birthday present.. an Imple Sam!! my very own adorable deer boy and im screaming/crying because i get to go pick him up tomorrow. I cant even express how excited I am.. hes my first/only quad doll and i just.. I CANT WAIT. I saw him and had to have him.. my friends are the absolute best! I'll do a picture montage tomorrow!!

I've got a question. I haven't seen many Impl Sam/Trista. If you order Trista in NS does she come with the darker deer body or do you have to ask for that?
Also, I can't decide what skin tone to get her but I REALLY want a Trista! She's so pretty, though the default faceup is one of the reasons I didn't get her originally. It made the face look bad. :/ Anybody have pictures of custom faceups other than the ones I've seen here?

 

I have impl sam (view post above for photos) and I got him whiteskin unpainted (with default faceup)

if youre talking about the grey blushed body you pay extra for that but mind you its just blushing. the resin isnt dyed unless you order darker resin. the color of the body is the color of the resin you choose. as for checking for faceups check flickr one of the best hubs to find them.

I'm thinking about modding my adela to be more to my liking. First I will round out where her horn attaches and then I plan on doing something with those ears and trying to get some hooves for her as well.

I get to join the ranks of impldoll owners now! Just got my trista from the marketplace here, and she is so much lovelier in person to me than on the impldoll website! I was slightly worried I would feel the need to mod her deer body legs longer, but i'm actually pretty happy with her height. I haven't put her next to my other MSDs yet, but alone, I think she looks great. Also saves me lots of modding work! Now I just need the weather to behave so I can blush her.
