IMPL dolls Star, Model and Idol Discussion thread 14

Sep 24, 2019

    1. I get 62.5 cm for my Star boy??

    2. They are so adorable!! i'm glad something good came out of it. <3

I was a little surprised to find it so much smaller than my EID. I mean, Batman is HUGE in comparison (which is why I had the Idol shelved for a while - I couldn't use him for what I wanted due to size) and supposedly the Super Hero body is only 68.5cm. They lie, he's at least 70.

Anyway I have the Star muscle man too, and he's much shorter than my Idol, so he's probably about 65 with head. maybe 64, I was looking at it next to my Argo 66 and it's pretty short next to it. I should pull them all out and do a lineup. XD

EDIT: @IngieBee yikes, 62.5?? I didn't think they were that short!
is that the muscle body? I apparently need to measure mine XD (not that it matters, I'm not currently using him anyway)

    3. AAAAWWWWWW!!!!! AWWWWWWW OH my so cute!

    4. @Girrl Too much cute!!!! Guinea pigs are such sweeties. They literally need to have buddies or they have heartbreak.
      --

Now I'm curious so I've measured my one Idol man against my Star woman to see if they're that different and Tony is 72 cm for sure, while Kitten is about 63 ish cm. I dunno how to explain such a discrepancy.

@VampireAngel13 I have Tony in EID pants (which are slightly too wide but otherwise perfect in the leg), a puppy sweater and a wine bottle decoration as a scarf. I'll include pics when I can because he really is something... The only trouble he's having is with shoes! He has fairy feet compared to his man calves and the shoes I bought for him (SSDF) are huge! He needs lumberjack socks.

    5. @A Wee Tiefling I would love to see pics when you get a chance! I am in the process of cleaning black paint off mine (for reasons) so I have yet to try my EID clothing on him, but I'm more worried about shirts than pants tbh - EID's have serious necks on them, and nice shirts look really bad when the neck is too big.

BUT I can maybe help with shoes - since you mentioned SSDF, I took the shoes off mine and popped them on my Idol's feet. They're Glamor Model size from Dollmore and perfect. A hair big, but with socks they'll be fine. GMs, SSDF and EID have similar size feet I guess, because mine all share shoes. Well, they all wear EID shoes. Bruce's feet are too wide for their shoes. Same length tho.

I'm curious about my Star man now lol. He was going to be my Nightwing, but now I think he'll be too short! XD

    6. Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear about what happened to the lovely guinea piggies. :( Hopefully you guys are doing fine. *hugs*

I've successfully managed to make my Idolman FGB use EID clothes. But then again, it's just a pants and jacket, which are very forgiving if slightly loose. I'll have to agree that Impl is actually leaner than Iple. Even though my guy is BUFF compared to his really lanky LoongSoul son, he is still less of a beefcake than an EID man (verified during a meet).

      EDIT:
My guy is on the leftmost, babysitting the two MSDs. He's wearing Iplehouse EID clothes. Adhara beside him is on the Impldoll Starwoman MGB, flat feet.

      @VampireAngel13

So here they are, an Idol man and a Star woman. Tony looks so miffed by his Big Comfy Scarf! I am beginning to love his puppy sweater. It's so Christmasy. Kitten is also looking spectacular in pink. I frikkin love her.

    8. That's actually .... frightening to hear! Bigger than an Idol man? Uh... Ugh! Kinda glad I heard this before I got an EID, as now... a HID might actually fit a character I have in mind :D If the EID is that big, well, and HID could be my giant of a man!

Which head is that @A Wee Tiefling ? He's a cutie :D And is she an Impldoll head? Which one, I can't tell :P

    9. @IngieBee It's more of the girth of the pecs than anything, iirc. The EID really has been working those muscles!

In terms of height tho, I would think that with default Impldoll heads, the Idolman is still a touch taller than an EID. In this pic I dug up from an old meet, Guórén (holding the umbrella) is almost as tall as the EID man (the guy in the center). For reference, Guórén is a relatively petite Granado head on an Impldoll body, so he's shorter than the default Impldoll Idolmen on that body. In fact, if Adhara wore killer heels, she could get nearly eye-to-eye with him!

    10. Wow, awesome picture, @AntarelNefertili and yah, Imple boys can have massive heads! My Plaice can just about wear a size 10 monique wig! Yikes!

      • x 1
    11. Kulfi (Model Ziv) is currently wearing a Monique 7/8 with a silicone cap to help keep it on/from sliding around. I think he's pretty much a dead on 8.

      • x 1
    12. @IngieBee Kitten is Aurora on the 64 muscle body. I said her faceup needed to be big and loud and the FUA delivered. And beside her is Max, a very nekkid Tony on the most bootylicious of the Implbodies. I need to restring them both. And Max needs his actual wig and face. I might attempt to make him shirts or something because I foresee not being able to fit things on his big melon arms.

    13. Well some of the EID clothes don't look too bad. I'm still a little worried about shirts. But maybe i should dress mine and see how bad it is (I can't I need to mod first!!)

      Thanks for all the photos!

The head i'm putting on mine is Granado too, but he's a melon compared to my other Granado guys! Which is why he's migrating to the larger body, the one I had the old Granado head I decided I didn't like was too small (why are dolls so confusing??).

Is yours the older Idol body or one of the newer ones? That looks about how tall mine is next to my EID - his shoulders are maybe a cm shorter. But I know Bruce is not 72cm because my two DM Glamor Model bodies are both taller than he is, and I measured one of them the day before and he was 72 - which puts my Idol at 68 again (with head). Which would be great if he was the right color and I didn't need to buy a new one! And i hate the joints on this thing. I have three mods I'm going to do to see if I can fix the hips to my liking. I should start now...

    14. @VampireAngel13 I have the FGB. My Granado Michael is actually a touch pinheaded on the body, but his proportions are still better compared to my uber-lanky LS who's slightly giraffe-necked on his default body.

I personally like the hip joint, but I'm one to put my dolls in a lot of contorting poses. I did have to separate the torso elastic from the leg elastics to get him to take on more relaxed leg poses, because the FGB lacks the thigh slits and knee peanut engineering of the TGB.

    15. All my girls wear 7/8 , are those Impl boys you're talking about @Iron_Dog ?

@A Wee Tiefling , I thought so, but the faceup did make her look a little different. I have an Aurora that I put a light freckled face on, and she doesn't look like Aurora at all! I'm almost at the point where I won't be buying dolls anymore and will slowly get everyone that doesn't have a pro faceup, a pro faceup, at least that's my plan, LOL. I'd rather improve my skills, then I don't have to be so worried about hurting the faceups!

Oh, that sounds like a good idea, do you just go from one foot to the other? Did he need anything else? How did you attach the hip to the head (encapsulating the body??) ??? My boys need to be a little easier to handle for me, and this sounds like it could help!

      • x 1
    16. @IngieBee Yes, Kulfi is an Impl Model Ziv (58cm tall). Typical 8/9 wig are big on him. He can wear them but they tend to slip/slide around on his head. Mkhai (Miguel the Demon Hunter) wears a typical 8/9 with no problems.

    17. Oh yes, well it's good to know I'd have to go down a size for the older model size,, thanks!

    18. @IngieBee I used the so-called "fishcake" method because it was popularized by @fishcake in this blog post. You already got the basic sense of it when you mentioned the elastic going from one foot to the other. There is a separate short elastic running from the hip to the head. :D One of my pet peeves in the FGB was how the elastics originally crossed on the pelvis, which resulted in uber-stiff legs and limited head/torso mobility (since only one piece of elastic is running throughout the length of the body). Sure, those knee peanuts still give me hell, but I nearly cried tears of relief when I finally got Guórén to sit in a relaxed cross-legs pose. I had also since added a silicone pad to his neck, and he now has great head mobility to match.

    19. @IngieBee Kulfi is new as of January of 2020. He's the oops colour Impl cast instead of the darker green I was supposed to get. I'm still waiting on that Ziv *sigh*.

    20. Yes, I think the head mobility is a real problem. I've tried things, like opening the hole up on top to be bigger and rounding off the top which helps but still isn't Fairyland mobility :P

Yah, @Iron_Dog , Impldoll is really off their game right now. I got the wrong things/totally different color after 14 months and am still waiting for my Leona head 15 months. I never received my muscle legs either. So, yah, not ordering from them again until they catch up/recover. I know it may not help them, but I can't take this anymore either. I don't want them to go out of business, I love their dolls, but ... yah, trust has run out :( I think their people got the plague, and I pray none of them died! Seriously, I pray, as we can never know if they're all OK, and I sincerely hope their people are OK. :eusa_pray

    21. @IngieBee I'm giving them some time to get sorted as it wasn't long after I received my incorrect green doll, China went into lockdown. Then nobody worked unless you could do stuff from home and casting dolls professionally wasn't one of those things for them.

Don't get me wrong, Kulfi is a gorgeous green. He's simply not the green I paid for. Impl was good enough to let me keep him when I offered to send him back. However, I still want the correct green Ziv that I ordered. I'll likely poke them again around the beginning of December as they'd told me they were supposed to be ready to ship him out the 2nd week of November and we're nearly done with the month now. Unless they have sent him and didn't give me a tracking number, which I think is what happened with Kulfi *scratches head*. Overseas shipping is slooooow right now so that could be the situation.

    22. Hey guys! Remember me? I'm back! And ready for more hybriding! =D

This time I'll be smacking a Granado Uriel head in New Normal on the Idol SGB or TGB body and turning him into Bucky Barnes. I needed a beefier body, and the SGB body fit the bill alright. The Implguys are total hunk beefcakes.

My question is... Has anyone ordered metallic resin from Impldoll before? How did it turn out? Sure, I could always paint the arm, but I dislike chipping...

I wonder if I could ask them to fill in the nailbeds before casting... or I could just fill them in with epoxy later and colormatch them--it won't be in an area that's easily chipped, and after I add the details, it won't be as noticeable.

I will obviously need resin matching on the whole body, but I think I will wait until the head comes in before ordering the body. Even if someone did a similar color request recently, Granado's NS might have changed since then.

    23. Chipping might be less of an issue than you might think. I spray painted an entire doll metallic silver 5 years ago and she hasn't chipped a bit. (LINK) Granted, it took something like 2 weeks for the paint to fully cure and I had to wait forever to reassemble her, but I'd probably have to sand it to get it off at this point. I still really want to make HAL, her male counterpart, and will want to use an Impl Idol body for that, but I can't quite bring myself to order a brand new body to spray paint gold and carve up

      • x 2
    24. What paint did you use that lasted that well?

    25. Krylon Fusion for Plastic The trick is doing 3 or so light coats, instead of just 1 heavier coating - thinner layers are much less likely to chip

    26. The hips like the thighs? Or the three part torso hip part? I don't mind the three part torso, it works nicely, but I hate the thighs. Anything that finicky under pants is just bad. I'm not a fan of any tension in the hip area (I don't think it's enough, no matter how tight you make it) so I resorted to permanent mods to make mine pose more how I can handle it.

It's not perfect, but so much better than it was!!
Ignore his one black arm. I'll clean it off eventually.

[IMG]Untitled by Vampire Angel13, on Flickr

He stands so good now! I removed the locks so he's not stuck in any position and his legs can do things.
I still have to deal with the tops of the thighs, the side slots are just so bad...but I rounded out all the corners so the string doesn't get hung up anymore, now it's a smoother transition from sitting to standing and standing to sitting.

The head movement is kind of an issue. I didn't realize it was that bad until recently (I've been not using this body the whole time i've had it) and I'm not sure how to fix it? I tried a neck donut which is my quick fix for this problem, and he can look up great, but not down. I don't really like how the neck looks anyway so I was planning on modding it...but I don't know what to do to it to make it work? Maybe something as easy as sueding the head will fix it, or at least make it better.

    27. I'm not a fan of the upper arm joint. I'm seriously considering gluing it together because it annoys me so much and I don't move my guys around a lot when they are out of their boxes.

      • x 1
    28. ha ha it's so funny how everyone likes different things - that's my favorite joint! My most favorite doll is on a Dollmore Glamor Model body, but I moved him from the Model body, which had those arm breaks. The GM does not and I miss them so much!! And I modded a Dollzone doll to have them buy cutting his arms in half XD

    29. True enough. I like the upper thigh joint even though it'll sometimes catch the fabric of his pants. For whatever reason, the very rare times his upper arm has pinched a shirt sleeve just irritates the daylights out of me. If I'd known that, I'd have asked Impl to make Malachite without the upper arm joint (since they needed to re-make him in the right green).

Oddly, that same joint in Mkhai's arm doesn't bother me. Possibly because of all the horns/spikes on him? But his right arm has none of the horns/spikes and has the upper arm joint and I barely even register it. I actually had to look at photos of him to be sure he had that design.

    30. @Girrl oh my gosh, thank you! That paint is a game changer, even for things like cosplay. I wonder if I can use it as a sort of primer and apply chrome powder or that super shiny mirror paint from Culture Hustle on top. I'll read up on it and find my options.

Having his arm off for like two weeks is no biggie for me though. He'll just be Wakanda!Bucky in the meantime.

    31. Ah, the lack of notifications struck hard this time.

Has anyone recently ordered an Idol FGB boy body? I keep seeing photos of the different versions with different parts. Some have upper arm mobility joints (or not), thigh slits (or not), or thigh mobility joints (or not).

Also, does anyone know if the TGB's arms and legs work with the FGB? Would be a way to get nicer-looking limbs and poseability.

@AntarelNefertili What's wrong with the FGB's knee peanuts? Harder to manipulate out-of-socket limbs?

      • x 2
    32. Ahahaha! All these varying opinions on the FGB's joints is really a good read. In terms of leg movement, the FGB is actually the least mobile of all my SD++ dolls, but as others have mentioned, with some help (be it through modding or a change of stringing), it may amount to something. I quite like his arm swivel too, just so the arms don't look too funny if you want to raise them up. The FGB's neck is actually very hybrid-friendly (unlike, say, LoongSoul [which tapers off like crazy at the end] or Iplehouse [mushroom neck]), but it needs sueding to help with neck mobility. Still, even with the silicone kip, my guy's head mobility doesn't hold a candle to my Starwoman MGB -- although that is an unfair comparison, because her neck joint makes her the most expressive of my dolls.

@Valor Someone made a hybrid of the TGB's legs on the FGB, but it needed modding or else it will look bowlegged. Not sure if the reverse would work. The FGB's knee peanuts are HUGE, and the lock mechanism is very difficult to engage. At least, compared to the knee peanut designs of the female Impldoll bodies I've handled. If you haven't loosened his strings one way or another, it's a wrestling match to get him to bend his knees.

    33. My advice would be try hot glue around head and see if it helps, i have hybrid impldoll Azalea and dollshe craft 26F body and head was looking down all the time, hot glue around head and problem was fixed. Now she can look around, down and up. Problem was sorted.

    34. Thanks! I think I'm going to try that tonight if I finish up the head. I decided to try and blush it to match this body...by going over the existing faceup. I know. But I'm one coat in and I think it's going to work!

This morning's insanity - I cleaned off all the black. Don't ever paint a doll you might want to change later:

[IMG]Don’t paint it black by Vampire Angel13, on Flickr

That's his head (Granado Galileo - which is so crooked I had to draw his mouth on way over on the side of his face to make it look balanced XD ). And I'm so happy my mods allow him to sit easily with his legs spread XD

      • x 4
    35. @Anita2006 she is so pretty :)

About the neck, I have an idea I need to try out, but first i have to find the right "ring" to use. I'm thinking that if I could find a strong ring that fits in the neck, maybe via enlarging the neck hole a bit, then inserting the hook into that ring, and the chord through the ring, then the hook would have more freedom of movement. The theory being that the chord won't let the head move since it is thick and under so much tension I'm thinking,if it's the right size, just small enough but thick enough to be strong enough... well, it would probably settle into the slot of the head but not cause the head to lose tension if it's no smaller than the neck opening, anyway, it should help the neck move, and I really need to try this, but where do I get a metal ring essentially, that is strong enough to take such tension? Hummmm .... maybe this is why Fairyland uses a bead... no appropriate rings available.

    36. Maybe a key ring would work? generally you can find them in craft stores and I know my local Dollar Store carries them in the craft section there. I don't know if they'd be too big to fit inside the head though.

    37. Yah, gotta unstring a doll and try this. But I'm so lazy, lets face it, ROFL

    38. Split rings come in many sizes. A mini s-biner hook might work and you could try it without restringing the doll.

    39. true, good ideas!

    40. last night, just when I'd started drafting an email to Impl (to see about cobbling together parts from various bodies to make Orange) I heard this sharp squeal from Rowan. I found her sitting calmly next to Pepper (who was still eating hay and looking very unconcerned) but with her head tilted at an extremely odd angle, and she had difficulty keeping her balance when moving around. After 3 hours of waiting in the emergency vet's parking lot, we got our piggy back, a little groggy but mostly safe and sound, minus the piece of hay she'd somehow gotten so deep inside her ear that it had (slightly) pierced her eardrum and required anesthesia to remove :doh Guess I won't be ordering any dolls for a little longer now...

      • x 2
    41. @Girrl (CN: animal injuries) A similar thing happened to my senior piggy Maisie. I had introduced her to baby Archie and he was smitten and over-enthusiastic. I heard her squeal at one point and checked on her and she was bleeding a bit from the mouth but otherwise calm. Then an hour later I realized she was still bleeding (spotted the spots all over the fleece) and he'd nipped her hard in his enthusiasm. Thankfully she didn't need stitches! I hope Rowan makes a full recovery. Poor little peanut!

@IngieBee I need to see these ring mods you're suggesting! I'd love greater head/neck mobility for my SDs.

    42. @Girrl omg if it's not one thing...! Your poor babies! I'll be crossing my fingers for you and the pigs, hoping that there aren't anymore problems!

@IngieBee can you please explain the ring idea one more time for those of us who have literally no idea and are confused XD
Is it going in the head under the s-hook like a resin donut? Or in the neck like the FL bead (I have no idea how those help posing tbh. I've even taken them out and not used them before)

I tried the donut in the head, I think it helped him look up, but not down. That's my go-to for bad head movement, so other than sueding (which I'll do when he's done) I got nuthin. I thought it was the hybrid that was making him bad, but if the normal heads aren't any better....

    45. I've fallen in LOVE with the new impldoll Cherise, she just perfect:love
When I first saw her she immediately reminded me of my resinsoul Lan,same vibe.
I do have a question though I want the Cherise head on a impldoll 58 cm body,I know resinsoul is fine with swapping heads/bodies but how is impldoll?

    46. :D Thank you!!

    47. OK, horrible drawing but I really think this would help. It can't just be a thin washer, because I fear that will eventually cut through the chord. It should be something rounded. Only issue I see with another S hook is that it would likely stick in the neck and just be another hindrance like the chord is (so thick and stiff) With this, the little ring would easily allow side to side from the chord connection and up and down from the s hook. The side to side may be wishful thinking unless it's basically outside the neck hole, if you can make the top opened up enough??

    48. I'm really sorry, but it's not so much that they won't do it for you than it just won't work. Neck would be too small and head would be too big volume wise and probably sink too low on the neck.

    49. You could also use a small loop of ribbon instead of the ring.

    50. Ok, I see now! And your drawing is not bad! I had been thinking it was really good.
No idea if that would work or not -I see how finding something to use as the ring would be hard...I probably have one tbh. I'm sure I've got one that came with a doll in place of an s-hook. I save everything. Also I think to get the ring so it sits in the right place, and holds the s-hook on would be hard. It would be interesting to see if it can be done and if it does anything!

I'm about to suede my head. He's gotten his hair cut and is ready to go - other than the horrible chip I scraped off him with the blade I was using to cut his beard. SIGH.

EDIT: So sueding does almost nothing. I think the neck needs modding. I don't know how much I care about his head movement vs having to mod. It's gotten super-cold all of a sudden (it snowed this morning?!) so I think I'll leave him like this at least until the weekend when it's supposed to get back up toward the 50s.

    51. not sure if this is at all helpful, but I received some rings, similar to what you're describing, from LoongSoul years ago (with a 1:6 doll I ordered) If you have any LS dolls, check the bag of extra hooks they always send with their dolls and see if something fits. You might also be able to poach the rings out of the legs of your F65, but then you'd have to Macgyver a way to restring her legs without those rings...

Thanks to @A Wee Tiefling @VampireAngel13 and everyone else for the kind words and thoughts for the piggies!

    52. I FOUND CLOTHES

So I have been trying the clothes of my larger dolls on the Impl Idol body and this is what I've found:

Iplehouse EID: too big. Maybe certain clothes would be better but I have a pair of suit pants and a button down the front shirt and the shirt is ok except for the neck which is WAY too big and makes the whole thing look bad. The pants are all over big, for jeans or sweats that's not a big deal but for a suit it's a little on the sloppy side for me (unless it's for John. He can be sloppy)

Ringdoll RGM03: shirt fits great, except again for the neck!! This time it's too small! but I would rather have too small than too big for a button shirt - I can work with the "end of the day loose tie" look.
The pants I'm not sure of. I only own the one RGM03 outfit (as opposed to their other 70cm bodies which are much smaller) and the ones I have are tapered at the end, and don't go over his huge feet (Ringdoll feet are smalllllllll). So I can't say for sure they fit, but they would definitely go over his rear. So there is hope.

Dollmore Glamor Model: I have a jacket that fits perfectly! Dollmore runs consistently huge in all their guy clothes for every size (all my M Dollmore dolls wear the pants made for the F dolls in their lines) so I'm not shocked. The GM also has pretty big shoulders, so again, not a shock, and since I have two of those guys I am more likely to buy an outfit from Dollmore in hopes it'll fit than another company. Somewhere I'm pretty sure I have a pair of pants for these guys (they are skinny in the waist/hip/butt area so I doubt they'll fit), I will eventually find and try them on.

Freedom Teller SID: so I have a pair of pants I actually bought for the Star Man bod I bought years ago, that were in the SID size, and way too huge for him They fit Idol though! Almost a hair short, but only almost. They're really nice other than that. And since they're not cheap and were bought for this OC I'm thrilled to have a doll who will wear them. The shirt was almost perfect but the two buttons on his chest are so tight they'll probably pop. I need like a millimeter more space!! SO CLOSE!! Neck is exact though. Iplehouse SID size is the neck size I need!

So my guy now has an outfit that is almost nice. I'm having trouble with shoes however. the SSDF/Glamor Model/EID size shoes in my collection are all being used by all my massive-footed guys so I guess I have to find more.
EDIT: I lied, I just found two pairs. So he's got shoes - shoes that are too big, but at least they go on his feet.

    53. @nancy_schroeder_ca , I don't think it'd have the strength, and would require another knot in the area. But I found upon a quick search, this, so I think with a little searching, I can find welded rings of the perfect size.

Ugh, sorry about the beard, @VampireAngel13 :(

@Girrl , unfortunately, I don't have any smaller LS dolls (Sacrilege I know, LOL) but I don't think they'll be hard to find. The thing is, the ring has to be big enough to hold two layers of chord, maybe though, I could use two of these rings. One where the chord goes through, and the other that would sit, hopefully, with it's bottom at the height of the top of the neck. This would allow me to choose a size that would fit perfectly, with the S hook through it, and seated, and the size only big enough to reach the bottom of the neck... I'm certain this will require dremelling out the top of the neck to fit another washer inside and giving over the extra space as the chord is already barely able to go through.

Thanks for reporting all those fits, @VampireAngel13 !!

    54. Pretty late to say this, but @Girrl sending virtual hugs your way! :'(

It still doesn't feel like the holidays, but I somehow managed to slap together a holiday photo of sorts of what I call the "older generation" of the crew, two of which are Impl hybrids. They're only called "older" because Adhara and Guórén have twin children that already have doll shells -- those kids are the young 'uns.

    55. That's a great picture, I feel holiday in it, but yah, nothing felt right this year :( I think we all have our ups and downs, I know I do. I hope everyone will feel joyful for some reason, ANY reason soon and let us hope it can be sustained :D

    56. @IngieBee *hugs* We all have been battling our own demons in our own ways, I am sure. :D Looking back, I somehow couldn't believe that I was able to make a total of FIVE ventilated wigs (four of which are for small SD noggins) since May, and then hand-sew 18 doll-sized pillows of varying sizes just several weeks ago. :ablink:

    57. @AntarelNefertili I'm amazed at your patience/persistence in making ventilated wigs. I bought an Iple wig that was supposed to go to Fei-Lau but when it arrived, the wefts at the front of the wig were quite visible (apparently this is sometimes a thing with Iple wigs). The wig went into my "sell" bag (of which, I've never actually sold anything *sigh*). I have a new-to-me MD Asael head and he's been... challenging to wig because he seems to hate everything and has a smaller head (8"). Since I wasn't doing anything with this wig, I decided to add some hair to the hair line using the ventilated method. I dyed some spare hair I had from ages ago and 2.5 hours later, I completed what I set out to do and it worked pretty well.

But holy moly, that's time consuming. And I wasn't even doing the 4 or so hairs at a time but about 8-10 at a time. Granted, a fair bit of time was taken up blending the colours together strand by strand but still.

    58. Yup, @AntarelNefertili , there are good days and not so good days, eh? Earlier on this year, I created my sewing room from an abandoned bedroom (daughter moved in with my mom to 1. get away from mom and dad and 2. help mom stay independent as she has gone blind. Unfortunately, it seems like Mom takes care of HER, LOL. So I even made some special gizmos and have a knitting machine set up in here. But since then, my productivity has been lacking. I've worked on doll patterns, but made no actual clothes. I made a couple of sweaters, and a TON of samples on the knitting machine, LOL I need to get my mojo working here! It;s really so nice to have my own space!

Thanks for reminding me about my ventilated wig, in progress, it seems like a nice thing to work on today :D

@Iron_Dog , I wanna see that wig, can you link a picture??? I've been thinking of "enhancing" some of my wigs as well :D

    59. Yeah, I can take a pic of it for you @IngieBee . Keep in mind that aside from wanting to hide the wefts, I also wanted to add colour to the wig so mister picky (Lyinenn who is a MD Asael head) would allow having it on his head . Pic will likely be tomorrow though and the true colours will be muted as we're supposed to have a delightful mix of rain and snow tomorrow and crappy apartment lighting is going to be even crappier.

Lyinenn is also currently bodyless (which might be why he's so disagreeable right now?) as it has been very slow going to figure out what resin is close-ish to him so it'll be a head on dowels in a vase :mwahaha. I can't get him an MD body as he was made 8 years ago (and was an LE50) and they only made his body for that release. Aside from new resin not matching his probably a little mellowed resin, he needs a 9.5cm neck and MD doesn't make a body with that neck size (they're all larger). He has a spectacular custom face up that I absolutely refuse to wipe.

    60. Oh, that's awesome, @Iron_Dog , no hurry, but yah, I'd love to see how that worked out :D
