Immortality of Soul (Part VII)

I'm pretty sure I would probably have more boys if the artist hadn't slowly over the years started sculpting a more realistic look. I really liked IOS for their soft anime styled facial lines.

With that said, I'm still pondering if I need Grazia and Infernale, though I'm not sure where they would live. Perhaps they could share a body with someone.

 

Oh I am so in love with IOS boys.. my first was an Osiris but now I am waiting for Sezz.. the obsession has begun for me. I hope to make all the cute guys from my favorite game, Hakuoki. I originally intended for Osiris to be my Saito but his grin and personality is more of an Okita. Now Sezz is going to be Saito. Ive started and cant stop >< haha

 

@Daiyanissa I'm a big Hakuoki fan too, congrats on your incoming Sezz! That's a character group that's a lot of fun to create.

Looks like I'm getting a bonus this year so I think I'm finally getting an IOS boy! They're all gorgeous but I think I'm going to (at least start with) Chaos. Can't wait!

 

Hi! About two years my Masamune (Lacrimosa) was cospayed Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII. And now its time to return my original character and put this outfit in box.

This year I will get a body for my Osiris head, but I won't dress him as Sebby from Black Butler, he will be more casual dressed, but I do have those demon eyes for him, now to just get him a black wig.......ugh. I am so behind completing him.

@derilan85 I too am trying to keep my Sebby in casual clothes and find it difficult somehow. He is currently dressed casual in all black except for his black and white scarf. A compromise I guess you could say.

 

Yea when I look at his head, he gives me the side eye for not getting him a body already.

Thanks! I thought Lacrimosa will be too big for me too, but now I prefer big boys (about 75cm). They are amazing!

 

@Drakoshka I felt like that too about big boys until one came home. Now my dolls all seem to be having a growth spurt as taller dolls are coming into the family.

 

After I have my "G", I always tell myself that no more big boys because they're heavy, but then I end up ordering one more 60 cm. boy xD He's not IOS though

Hi there! New to this thread and feeling very tempted by all of these beautiful boys, even though I usually prefer MSD size...

Does anyone have a Class 60 I? He is seriously cute.

 

Would anyone have recommendations for protective accessories that would fit an IOS 1/3 doll (specifically Levi)? I'm new to the hobby, and I want to buy high-quality protection so I can keep him looking nice for a long time. I did a preliminary search but I'm having trouble finding stuff in the correct size, and I'd really appreciate your guidance.

I'm looking for:

-a full body stocking (or a shirt/pants stocking combo) to avoid staining from dark clothes
-a head cap or something else so I can avoid sticker residue while getting his hair on
-a hair brush

If you use or know of any good sites selling these things for an IOS 1/3 scale doll, please direct me the right way!

@Levi Ackerman I know I've seen a company out there with a two piece staining garment set, but I can't remember right now. If it comes to mind I will post! Volks sells cloth headcaps which I have had fantastic luck with, no stains for years. Volks also sells hair brushes, but honestly you can just use a toothbrush or other tiny fine bristled brush.

The beautiful photos lately are making me want to get mine out for photos. It's suddenly been raining lots though, so the lighting isn't all that great.

After getting my first IOS boy which was my Lacrimosa, I loved him, but I realized carting him around is the hardest thing, and sound them I find my 70class boys may be the biggest I'm willing to go anymore... Granted it just bought another 73cm doll from Soom not too long ago.

 

Does anyone have a Cho or Co head on a non-ios body? I'm wanting to hybrid a Cho head. I've found that Luts seems like a good resin match, but I'm not sure what size body would work as I only have MSD and 65cm+ SDs from them. >.<

 

If anyone here has owned a 50cm Body Type A and / or Type B tell me how good they are at posing? If you've had both, then which one did you prefer? I don't know if they are only differently aesthetic wise or if they have different posing power.

For the 50cm bodies, the muscle one is actually taller than the other (closer to 55cm or so). I have that version and he is a great poser! I have many posing pictures in my boys album.
In this picture, he is standing almost shoulder to shoulder with a Fairyland F60 (original) boy. They are almost the same height.

I just noticed that IOS posted their year plan on FB. Looks like next month they are releasing a 30cm doll. Uh oh. Also, another Ceil is coming out, another AoT doll as well. Aside from the yosd, the only other dolls coming out are all character dolls. I miss when they were original.

 

Yea I can feel that, I miss seeing original dolls too.. although I absolutely want a Ciel!

 

Also, I've been somewhat irritated with class60 bodies in that the locks in their back seem to not really work and the then up folding backwards... anyone else have these issues?

 

I have the previous versions of Ciel (book of circus and robin) but I'm so excited!! I want the new Ciel too! he and Sebastian are my favorite characters

I love IOS boys I am saving money fo a “Blue” but I also like “Nova” and “Lacrimosa”

 

My lacrimosa was my first doll I ever got from IOS and he's also my grail boy. haha I love him so much! I also have a WS Nova that I've had for about a yea and half I think now, and I'm really on the fence with him... maybe if I painted him, I'll like him more??

 

Ok so I have a big questions for you then, one of the bigggest issues I have with bonding with him (aside being so massively huge) is that it’s almaot near impossible to pose him and I sueded him and restring him and his legs and body still feel like a crazy noodle. Do you run across this problem too? I’m so frustrated about him.

 

Yes, in fact I was just kinda ranting about it on instagram yesterday. 3mm string in an 80cm bjd??? Who decided that was a good idea? Or those feet? He needs bigger feet than a 60cm girl! And what is it with those legs? Any reason they only elongated the legs and not the torso when they decided to make him 80 cm? And why does the upper torso jingle around when I want him to bow a little towards the front? And the inside of the doll could be neater too. Time for some improvement in the design IOS!!

I sueded him yesterday and restrung him with thick elastic and he could stand unaided last night. It did help. He can also keep his arms in any position I want him too. He is tightly strung now. He really needs that.


Did you use real suede? Did you also suede the inside of the thigh joint? That helped. There was too much space in that joint.
I do have him in boots that support his ankles. That also helps.

I am seriously thinking about shortening those legs and maybe add some epoxy inside the torso joint. Hopefully that will solve my problems.Sell him? No - I need that body for my minimee Alan Rickman head.

And before anyone thinks that I may have been scammed: I bought my IOS through a dealer and he came with official box and CAO and everything. IOS did all

 

Yea, no I agree, and It's so infuriating! Where did you buy the suede from? I've never actually gotten the real thing, and if I'm stuck with him, I might just go for the long hall and just get him fixed up... also yea, the string just isn't thick enough that he was sent with, so is 3mm too much? Cause I'm telling you, I have no idea what string he needs but I know that the ones I'm using is either not thick enough or just too loose? I don't know, I'm so annoyed! Haha

My pure black Anima arrived today. I was totally surprised as I never got a shipping notice and, Uhm, I had forgotten that I had ordered him. Totally gorgeous guy. I'll have to make it up to him somehow.

Suede was a problem for me too - I could not find thin suede in large enough pieces for any reasonable price. I ended up finding it on Aliexpress - pm me if you want a link. Spit pig leather they call it - between 0.4 and 0.6 mm thick and you get a large piece for 16 euro or something. Just smells very strongly. I doubt they made this in an animal friendly way though.

String: I put in 4mm, but that is because I do not have 5mm thick string. And shoes that are tight around his ankles helps with standing too. The larger the bjd, the thicker the string. And how tight it needs to be strong? Difficult, but too tight and you might put to much stress on the resin and that causes fractures and chips - so... be careful.

 

@Cyador Thanks for the tips! I'm thinking of getting him some new string then and I'll look into that, I know someone told me to try Volks silicone suede? I want to really love this body so I'm think I won't give up on him just yet.

Also I ordered a black resin body as well! I haven't finished his layaway though. Haha

I just got my boy in and he is new to me, in box and certificate and everything and he is very floppy. What size elastic do you think he needs? I want to suede mine as well.

I just ordered some elastic. I got a whim to try to just tighten his elastic. I managed to take him apart and get him back together. He is better but I think suedong will be required. I think I might try to hot glue sued him later tonight or I might just make him some pants so he is decent.

 

@arianabauer where did you find the elastic? Just for future reference so I know where to find 5mm string since I know that's what he'll need.

 

I got a most interesting tip in the fabricstore this afternoon. I asked for 5mm elastic and she told me they buy their elastic (the good stuf we use) through sail equipment stores... And if I can believe the websites here I should be able to get 10 meter 5mm thick elastic for the same price I would pay for 2 or 3 meters from Dollmore... So if you have any of those kind of shops around?
