How Old Are You (continued)

I'm 26 and even if I have been interested in BJD since I was 20, I just ordered my first doll few days ago

 

I am 22, and I'll be 23 late next month c:
I got my first doll... hmm... late June? I was interested in them for awhile, but I was working on selling off my pullip collection to get the funds needed :'D I remember seeing them when I was much younger, probably about 12-14 years old, on Deviantart (and then later on Junkyspot since I was interested in getting obitsu stuff and came across their website) but when I had a vague idea of the cost it pretty much drove me away lol. It's a lot easier to get money now, though, in comparison so it's not quite as daunting, ahaha!

 

43, started last year. I'd like to keep my collection smaller (4 currently, but 2 are off-topic). It is nice to be old enough to have a little money for the hobby.

I'm 20. I have had a floating head for about 6 months and just ordered her body a month ago!

 

I’m 47 and started collecting bjd’s five years ago- I have always loved dolls and miniatures though!

 

I'm 25.
I saw my first doll on Deviantart when I was 16. I saved up and bought one not long after.
It's starting to be kind of a nostalgia thing for me now. Like, I can't seem to fall in love with new dolls. I keep going back to the same sculpts that I was obsessed with as a teenager.

 

I'm currently 22 years old (will be 23 in February! Where are all my February babies at?) I've also been interested in BJD for years but only had the money and time to invest in it. Nice to meet you guys!

 

I am 25 and I have been in the hobby for 3 or 4 years And I have a lot of plans involving dolls for the future

I'm going to be 60 this year. I got my first dollfriend about three year's ago, after being introduced to the life of BJD's a couple of year's earlier. This saying from Jamie Tobias Neely says it best for me, “When the Japanese give a doll in friendship, it is bestowed with great meaning and honor… Even adults speak about dolls as though they were almost human. A doll is not simply stored in a box. She sleeps waiting for someone to wake her.”

It's more like BJDs have awakened me. They are a unique blend of resin and soul.

 

I'm 54. I got interested in BJDs about 7 years ago and got my first doll some 6 months later.
However, I've been collecting dolls of various types and sizes all my life. (Literally. I got my first vinyl doll at birth and by the time I was 12 and 'too old' for dolls I probably had about 50 or 60.)
At 15 or 16 I decided I was going to 'collect' Barbie dolls, and a few years later I discovered dollhouses.

 

I feel like such a baby compared to most of the people I've seen in this thread.
I turned 19 in September and have been collecting various dolls for as long as I can remember. Always loved ones that had more posing abilities and when I stumbled across some bjd photography almost a year ago, that was it for me. It sucked me right in and now I'm always thinking about all things doll related. A girl I talked to on here called it "dollpox". Like I have dollpox for sure if that's a thing. Lolololol.

 

Oh goodness, I’m 37. Been in the bjd hobby since 2008, got my first bjd toward the beginning of ‘09. My interest has waxed and waned in cycles over the years, going from times being intensely focused on my dolls to times where they remain untouched for weeks on end. Kind of depends what’s going on at work and in life. Despite all my other hobbies and passions, bjds still remain one of my favorites and they’re displayed on my dresser so I can see them everyday.

 

I'm only 18 and I've just bought my first BJD head! A DIM Larina in white resin! Im currently having to wait and save up now for a loongsoul 42.5cm girl body for her, which might take a while for since Im a student I collect money slowly through commissions.. Congratz on getting your first bjd! May we share this newcomer excitement togather!

 

29! Have been collecting other dolls seriously since 23. Just started with BJD even though I've known about them for almost 10 years now!

That is a lovely saying. I’ve had other dolls in the past ( mostly fashion dolls). And while I have had favorites, they were still items or toys. I now understand bonding with my bjd’s and they are much more “real” to me.

 

I’m 21! One of my friends got me into the hobby about a year ago and I own two dolls!

 

I’m 27 and i have been in this hobby since I was in college (or even before, can’t really remember XDD) I use to have many dolls for a while and now it’s my cool down period, sale a huge part of them and only keep two, now I’m focused on them and i think I’ll stick around as long as I can

 

I'm 20 and have stalked the hobby and been in and out a bit for four years.

 

Just turned 21 back on December 28th! I ordered my first doll then, too, and I ordered his boyfriend on New Year's Eve! I've been interested in the hobby since I was 13, though

 

I'm 52 (hate it) and "discovered" bjds in late 2011 or early 2012. I currently have 16 dolls and 8 floating heads. All of my dolls and heads are boys except for one girl.

I'm turning 23 this year and I've been in the hobby since 2009! It's really hard to believe it's been that long, haha! I have over 30 full dolls and a lot of floating heads;;; Those Sooms!!!!

43. No dolls yet (BJD anyway). Just got into the hobby and doing as much research as I can before taking the plunge.

 

I'm 20, discovered bjd some years ago but could only dream about and now waiting for my first doll to arrive.

 

I am 23 and I have been in the hobby since 2011. Got my first BJD in 2012, but haven't gotten any other dolls yet, because all of my money went to school bills and rent However, now I'm actively getting back to dolls and planning to purchase couple more bjds soon!

 

I'm 28! I just recently started into the hobby... I received my first doll in the mail last week.

 

I'm 31 ( turning 32 this May ) and got my first bjd in 2010. Time flies How I wish to be young once more

 

I’m 66 and just received my first bjd yesterday. She is a Lillycat “Ellana” and is so beautiful. I have been sewing since I was 9 years old and she will be a new, very fun challenge for me.

I've wanted one since high school but it wasn't a strong desire as I was too busy studying all the time to think about this too often

What seems amazing about this hobby is that although I think that breaks are totally normal, I can see myself picking it up again even when I'm in my 60s

 

I'm 45 this year but have only been in the doll hobby for maybe 3 years now. I started with Blythes and customising Monster Highs but I think BJDs are my favourite. People already know I'm a bit of an outlier, but I think once they see the dolls they get how cool they are and any creepy doll narratives they may have been imagining are re-framed! ...Or maybe they're just being polite... but hey - who cares, right!

 

I am 24 and got my first bjd in December. I have always liked dolls since I was a little girl and own/have owned plenty of off-topic dolls (pullips, american girl, bratz dolls) before I found bjds.

30 I got my first doll a resinsoul Yaoi as a gift from my brother. Since then I have acquired a Luts Lolli and a Pukifee that is currently on its way!!
I have a day job as a debt collector and by night I sew until I cant feel my fingertips.
I lurk on here a lot during the day cus it keeps me from falling asleep

 

I'm turning 32 in June. I'm interestend in Dolls and BJD since I was around 20 but it was just a little over two years now that I started customising Monster High Dolls. I finally got my first BJD for Christmas and I love her so much. I already ordered another one....I think I need to watch out because this seems to be a little addicting...

 

I'm 39 and got my first doll last week, dollfie dream Snow Miku. I then bought a Smart Doll Ebony which I should have this week sometime. Been fun so far, now I'm looking at getting a dslr or a mirror less camera.

Im 32 years and im in hobby around one years, was interesting in those dolls from childhood, but now i can afford it. im waiting my first doll just ordered few weeks ago :-) it will be impldoll was of future Aurora :-) i just in love with her :-) im working part time and study, and have daughter 11 years, so im little bit busy to make new stuffs but im trying to find some time for my hobby :-)

 

Im 24 and got into the BJD hobby about right after I turned 21. I was into monster high dolls, and stumbled upon BJD dolls on youtube. Someone was doing faceups and I was immediately interested. I was doing monster high customs.

 

23 this June, and bought my first love last year.

I'll be 27 at the end of the month I've been into BJD for maybe 3 years? Started with Pullips, then Monster High dolls, now I'm here. I just sold my only doll though. Slowly saving to hopefully buy a new one.

 

How old I feel depends on the time of day!

 

I'm a couple of months shy of 27. I'm currently searching my first bjd. Price is still an issue for me, because on top of the doll price, I need to worry with the taxes - around 60% on top. So I'm being really careful to ter the deram Doll. I've been collection fashion dolls/other in the last two years.
