I'm currently 24 and got my first bjd last year. I have always liked bjd since I was a little girl but couldn't afford one since then

I'm 28 and I'm ready for my first doll!

 

I'm 25 at the moment.

 

I'm 22 and have always adored dolls. My grandma was an avid doll collector, and my mom collected designer Barbies. My grandma even sculpted her own dolls out of clay! Dolls kind of just run in my blood. I've only recently been in the BJD hobby though. I'm really excited to be a part of such a creative community.

Haha, i am 63... Always collected the antique dolls...but you put those in a cabinet...

i am 32 and buyed my first legit impldoll Iris this years :-) hobby started one years before :-) i always liked dolls, they are so cute and gives home some more living spirit i think so

 

I'm 62 and have been involved in the bjd world for quite a long time. However, have not been an active participant for a few years now. Just sold the last of my SD girls a couple of weeks ago, thanks Zev01! At one point I had over 30 bjds! It was great fun during my active period, loved sewing for the clan! Will be keeping my smaller dolls and adding to them in the future.

 

24 years old here. I've been interested in BJDs since I was 14, but only recently have I managed to get one.

 

I will be 30 in October. I have to admit, I've only known about and been in the hobby for slightly over a year.

 

I'm 21 and will be 22 in August. I got my first doll way back when I was 15 or so :O It's hard to believe it's been 6 years!

 

Joining everyone in the 20's club! I will turn 23 in august! Ordered my first bjd this past December but have been interested in the hobby since I moved out of my parents and started University and finally am at a point in my life where I can stop admiring and fully join the hobby

It’s actually quite nice that there seems to be quite a spread of ages in this hobby!

I'm 21 I ordered my first doll in March 2017 and she arrived a few days before my 21st birthday

 

The majority seems to be in the 21 to 29 age range. But I'm happy to say I'm in the "over 60" group.
I'm 68, and retired, so I have lots of time to spend on my doll hobby.

I also no longer have parents to answer to when spending money. I don't think I could have justified buying expensive dolls when I was young and still answering to my parents. My parents were not the sort who would have told me that I couldn't collect, but I would have felt guilty knowing I should be saving money.

I also don't have a husband (widowed) to answer to. Though I'm sure my husband would have LOVED BJDs and joined me in the hobby. He also had a collector mentality like I do. He collected action figures and G.I. Joe dolls. I can totally see him with his own BJDs, if he were still around.

 

Lesse, currently im 23 about to be 24 on the 28th of april. I joined the hobby and got my first doll in 2008 when i was 14 so I've been at this for 10 years come may!

I am 71, but don't look or feel it. i have been into BJD since they first came out.

37 years young - joined DoA in 2007 after discovering Souldoll by accident.... didnt we all? I begun my lifelong dolling habit when I was just 5ish repairing my friends throw-away Sindy dolls, which years later graduated to repairing dolls including antique museum restorations. My work shop (when it's un-mothballed) scares the bejebus out of the uninitiated

I just turned forty last month and though I've wanted a bjd for a decade or more, I got my first just a few years back. I personally love the age range that we can see in this hobby and the different perspectives it brings to discussions.

 

No kidding! It is so much easier when one has a proper disposable income. I started the hobby just before turning 30, but of course now am no longer a thirty-something.

 

This is insane, I feel so young! I'm only 19, and it seems everyone else here has been an adult for a while. I'm saving up to splurge around $230 on my first two dolls, which I'm expecting to do in the next three months, and hopefully all will go well. That being said I'm sure working twould jobs puts me at an advantage from other people my age who are in college. Also does that mean I should call everyone here senpai now???

43 but my daughter is also into the hobby and she's 11 so on average we would be 27 (I feel younger, now!)

 

Right now I'm 18, but on the 26th, I'll be turning 19.

 

I'm 51, feel soooo old but like not really and I didn't even start liking dolls til I was in my 30s. I LOVE that the BJDs attract a younger group, such a positive vibe here and they are so open, creative and artistic!!!

That's funny. I too am 43 and my daughter is 11. And yes she's into it too. I love your averaging. My daughter and I also skate(board). We were skating at the Capitol grounds some time back. Security came to give us trouble. Reminded me of my youth! I told the guy that instead of two 25 year olds, to just think of us as a 40 year old and a 10 year old. He said ok and left!

 

I'm 25, and I have been into BJDs for about 6 years now I think. My sister got me into them, I even do some panels at anime cons about them.

 

I’m 20, but will be 21 in June. I started doing Monster High faceups and it escalated from there, but I’ve been interested in BJDs (not really in the hobby yet) since I was 17.

I'm 24, bought my first dolls at 19 but got into this hobby at 13. I'm the type of person who gets super into something and loses interest quickly, but after so many years as a doll-less bjd lover I was convinced that this is the hobby for me.

 

I'm 30 and when I was a kid I was obsessed with barbies and had 2 bigger dolls (american girl and magic attic). My grandma had always been a doll collector, but she didn't know about bjds. When I found them I had to tell her, she loves mine and wants one for herself. It's such a neat thing.
