Hi :D

Hi I'm Isa! I got into BJDs in August of 2022, just in time for my first Resin Rose con which was so much fun. I also got my first doll there, Volks Heath. I had this DOA account for a while but also wasn't sure what to post, but I want to be a more active member of the community and I know a majority of BJD lovers use DOA more than other platforms hence why I'm here. I hope I can make more friends and discover even more about the community.

 

Once I get some good photos I'd love to post them for his doll intro. I still have yet to give him a proper name....I need to figure that out soon since he's my favorite and I STILL haven't named him. His character has gone through a lot of changes so that's why.

 

Thank you so much for the guidance, I'll say DOA is taking some getting used to with all its navigating. I need to make a doll profile for my volks heath and my other dolls too but I'm procrastinating taking the perfect picture!! Also, do you think I'm allowed to insert art of the doll's character in the doll profile? Or is that strictly for doll photos? I'd like to do a blend of both if it's allowed.

As for what I'm interested in learning about I think I'm most interested in learning about Volks dolls, especially Volks boys. There are so many releases of sculpts and popularized sculpts that become their own characters such as Williams. I still don't quite understand the lotteries Volks has and stuff like that. I just ordered my first doll from the actual Volks website which was Dollfie Dream Sister Alphinaud, he will also be my first non-resin doll.

Another thing I'm curious about is how much people truly spend on dolls over the course of a year or so, and how popular is the layaway method. I see a lot of people saying they have multiple dolls coming in so I'm wondering if it's a common thing for people to have multiple dolls on layaway at once.

 

Yeah that totally makes sense, I definitely don't always disclose the amount to everyone LOL. But yeah I guess I wanted to compare my spending to others to see when I go overboard. But I guess it is something that highly depends on the person and their lifestyle. Thanks again for all the links! And I'll make sure to let you know when I post my Volks Heath doll profile. I plan to take photos this weekend for it.
