Granado Dolls Waiting Room v4!

Guys! I got a message from UPS that I have a package on its way, and it seems to be coming in from China. Could this be my body? If it is, it would be amazing, because I am having the roughest time at work. I didn't order anything else, and it's heavy enough to be a huge Granado body...

Unfortunately I won't be home for the delivery, so I tried to reschedule it on my day off. Not complaining though. Work has been miserable for everyone in my team, so this email made me smile.

@Mahgiep @Vindalootoo Ahh, thank you! I was surprised at how fast the body came, since I ordered it on April 1st, at the start of the event. I'll be updating my info in the waitlist. Like I said, past few months have been rough ^_^;

Originally, UPS was going to deliver him on Saturday, but since I wasn't going to be home to sign for it, I rescheduled the delivery for a small fee.
Well, UPS not only delivered the package without a signature, but they left it outside my neighbor's door instead These particular neighbors are not trustworthy by any means, and there's a lot of theft in the apartment community and neighborhood. The package was out in the open (my unit is further down and tucked away into a little side hall). Thank goodness I took out the trash when I did!
Customer care didn't really care though, and said that a signature actually was not required. If I had known that, I wouldn't have bothered to reschedule it. Even so, leaving the package out in the open, and in front of the wrong unit, is.... (If it had been the neighbors across from me, I wouldn't have minded as much, since I know them, and they are nice).

Anywho, here's some quick pictures:




I originally made the outfits for a different body, so I had to take them in a little. Fortunately, it was only the shirt, henley, and hoodie; the jacket fits as-is. Now to finish everything. @_@ (excuse the cat hair; the cat had to do a quality inspection).

 

My Noah head in chocolate is on its way home! I ordered it back in February.

 

Hey guys what's the average wait time for a doll with all the fixings? I ordered a doll for my S.O. back in April in the event, and forgot to add myself to the waiting list. (And I don't recall if I posted in here at all at the time.)
I'm just wondering how long I should wait before I should worry and poke their Q&A board about my order.

 

@Tippetarius I have bought my blank Michael during the event, too. They start making the doll as soon as you're finished with your payments, it's what they told me. If you did not pay by layaway installments, the average wait for a blank doll is around three months (that's the rough estimate they gave me), plus at least two-three weeks if you asked for a face up.
They will send my doll around late September-early October and I paid my last installment five days ago. I hope this helps!

So as I paid in full and got Gabriel with every option, and face ups add a bit, I have a while yet before I should worry and poke them.

 

@Tippetarius - I'm approaching 5 months for my "Lucky Bag" heads that I've ordered in February (and I think @SteamWitch is as well). This is my first time ordering from Granado, so I'm unsure if this is expected, and not directly similar as your inquiry since you ordered a full doll.

The only thing that is a cause for concern for me is that they announced on their Instagram that they are moving sites, and look ups of past orders will not be available on the new site. I am assuming I will need to create a new account as well. I have saved screenshots of my order, so I hope to be able to reference those in the future if needed. If you haven't saved your information / order number, it may be prudent to do so.

 

I got my Shadow that I ordered in January, but because of the holidays around the Lunar New Year (Feb. 12) I automatically assumed it would take longer to get my Lucky bag. Here's hoping we hear something soon.

 

I'm so worried about the site move too! I have saved screenshots of my order, a PDF of my invoice (they have a print order function on their current site and my computer was able to print and save the invoice as a PDF) and made sure I still have my order confirmation email. The Noah I ordered in early March should be ready to ship soon....? I hope they ship him before they switch to the new site!

 

If you are worried about your order, you can always reach the customer service by email. I haven't an order number because I paid by layaway and currently they are not managing installments orders on the website. Perhaps this is going to change with the new version.
When they noticed I wasn't able to fulfill my order, they reached to me and asked if I still wanted the doll. They were great during all the process and provided me assistance.
So, you can always write them on their gmail if you have something to ask. They reply in a couple of hours and actually, Granado is one of the best companies I've dealt with.

Thanks @Nanael for assuaging my fears. Usually I'm patient, but the website move was something I hadn't experienced with an active order with any doll company before. Seems the doll-grando.com site now redirects to beta.doll-granado.com, so the new site looks to be live.

I wouldn't worry about the order getting lost. I contacted them asking if there was any way to link orders to the new page (No, which doesn't surprise me. The site is constructed on a completely different platform) and they reassured me the order was safe. OTOH, if you paid by paypal, you should have a transaction number for the payment. Since you initiate it, you won't have the Granado order number unless you put it in an accompanying note. But I also got an email with the order number and details. Have you got that?

Wondering if I'm the only one that ordered the Adagio 70 body? It was still being fine-tuned...they can't even give me body measurements to start clothes. I don't expect it before October and that's probably optimistic. Sigh...

 

I came so close to ordering the Adagio70 body but without measurements, it was a crapshoot. I don’t want to sew.

 

I extrapolated up from the 32cm adagio and crosschecked by downsizing the 75 and came up with these numbers.

I imagine the clothing made for 70cm dolls will work, as long as it's not super-fitted, and few of the commercially made things are. They want to reach as large a market as possible. It's one reason I'm inclined to make my kids' clothes because I want them that fitted. Those I have bought have all ended up getting tailored. All I have right now are Fairyland: slim waist/big hips that make them such good posers, so it's usually taking the waist in. The Adagio does have, visually, more of a v-shaped torso than most, which could cause some challenges.

I really didn't want a 75cm doll, but I LOVE this body! I actually had to have a major discussion with the two characters I'm shelling. I wanted the Vigor body for one and the Adagio for the other. I worked hard all the time I was writing the books to visualize the two lads as the same size, but Wesley really got hot under the collar when it appeared Stephen was going to be a cm (read 2.5 inches for full size) taller. With the last book, I finally reconciled that Stephen could be shorter, altho 4cm is going to be a bit too much. I can compensate with how I set them up for a picture, but I wish the Vigor wasn't quite so tall.

But Wesley's delighted...and quite smug.

 

Just received a notice that the Noah I ordered on a 75 Adagio body with faceup on 7 March has been shipped!! They just sent me an email about it today (10 July) to say that they shipped him back on 5 July. So it’s been around 4 months of waiting.

Anyway, his tracking number works and he’s currently waiting for a flight in Shanghai. He’s been waiting since 8 July. The last EMS package I got from Mainland China earlier this year took almost 2 weeks to get here (Hong Kong), so I’m kind of expecting the same. (Interesting how EMS packages from Korea and Japan currently take at most 5 days to reach me while it takes so much longer for packages from the Mainland…) But it’s fine with me if he takes a little longer to get here as I won’t be home next Mon to Weds anyway to receive him due to work…

 

I received my Pomelo Lucky bag and got the tiny Galileo on the Adagio body. I'm tickled pink !!!!

 

Wow! Yippee! That's definitely lucky. I wasn't following Granado at the time. If you don't mind my asking, how much was the bag?

 

I think it was a little bit cheaper than buying the Tiny doll outright. Though you can't buy the heads right now. I may put Shadow's head on the body since I already have a Galileo and Shadow doesn't have a body (or a faceup or wig, etc).

 

My lucky bag arrived today. I received a v-08 and a v-11 head. Not what I was hoping for but I’ll do something fun with them.

 

I'm sorry it's not what you wanted. What size are they for? Little guys or big?

 

They are big guys, so it’s nice to have new big guys for my collection. I’ll need to start looking for bodies for them in order to help inspire ideas.

 

Good luck! I saw the V-08 on the site, but not the V-11. Picture? I've seen @SteamWitch's little V-11, but not a big one. If he's like the little one, the two you got should be a nice contrast.

 

I have my V-10 on a Migidoll 65 body. When I had a V-08 he was on a Dollshe pure body. I hope to see them when you finish them. They are both gorgeous and I'm jealous of a full size V-11.

 

I have my V-11 on a Loongsoul body with 11.5cm neck. But the Adagio 70 body is also supposed to be compatible.

You have the option, when buying the Adagio 70, for either size neck.

I am glad I got v-11 as I was hoping for him. I'm indifferent on v-08 and will probably see if he will find a new home. Now the hunt for a body begins.

I really enjoy seeing your collection! 75cm is just too big for me though. I'm going to see if I can find something in the 65-70cm range. I may order the Adagio 70 body once I see some owner pictures.

Yay! I'm so glad your lucky bag worked out so well! I think I would order another lucky bag in the future. I hope others got what they wanted too though. It's always a dice roll.

 

My 30Garden and Shadow heads arrived! Completely punctual—I'm so happy! (I put pics in my box opening here!)

 

My Noah is here! He actually arrived on 14 July but I wasn't home, so had to get him at the post office the next day.

He's gorgeous and I wasn't at all expecting his box to be signed by Crocus Lee! And the signature is actually written on and not printed. Is this a thing Granado does? Noah is my first Granado boy. I'm sad that his box did get a little squished during shipping as now I feel like I need to keep his box! XD

I think I'll post a box opening later. Haven't done on in forever!

 

Drat. I've lost my measurements for the Vigor body (big boy). And the new site doesn't have them anymore. Do any of you have those somewhere?

I was hoping for the v-07 head, I really love the sculpting on that one. I’m not going to get a chance to really fuss with them until August, since I am going on vacation next week.

 

Snoopy dance!!!!!! Just got the "order is almost ready" email on my boys! For the record, I made the order April 6, and really didn't expect it this soon. I was sure it would be October. This includes an Adagio 70 with the Adagio 70 Noah, so those are ready to ship.

 

Has he arrived yet?

Just received this from Granado. They say it will be posted on the site soon, but until it is: Official Adagio 70 measurements! Yippee!

UPDATE: From Granado, correct head size should be 21.3cm!

Hmmm...possibly I should have resized. Aw, well. Here it is. My earlier mathematics held up pretty well...except head size. Wonder what I did there!

I was told the V11 head would fit and that’s an 8-9” wig size.

 

You know...it can't be. The measurement for the head for the 75 is 22.8. My calculated was 21 and change. I'll point that out to them. Also...it comes with the choice for neck sizes, so the head you put on would determine the head circumference, right? But 33 would be a serious egghead!

My big order has shipped! Yippee! Hopefully it will get here safely. I ordered it April 5th, so about 5 months. However, it includes the Adagio70, so was a little delayed until the 70 was finished.I was actually expecting it to be another month.

Does anyone know how to interpret this? Estimated to arrive before Sept 16...would that be to arrive in the states by then? Will it shift to USPS once it enters the states? This is a new shipping method to me.

 

My last SF Express package, which arrived a month ago, took 7 days to go from Shenzhen distribution center to JFK. Not sure where you are but I hope this helps. I think it came FedEx.

No. I’m really not sure who delivered but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t USPS. When it got to the US, it said it was collected by an agent. It was here a few days later. All very vague.

I just went to the SF Express website and I’m wrong. It was delivered by USPS but it doesn’t show on the USPS website! So you should track on SF Express only.

@Vindalootoo: You could also use a tracking website like 17Track or ParcelsApp that gets tracking data from all the known carriers so that you won't miss any tracking updates, and don't have to keep switching tracking sites!

I usually use 17Track, but one time my tracking for an Amazon JP package didn't update for days, and Amazon's own tracker was super vague (and actually said it was out for delivery two whole days before it was out for delivery...), so I put my tracking number in ParcelsApp and it was able to get tracking info from a small local last mile delivery service that 17Track didn't cover and it gave me more detailed info on where exactly my package was.

As for SF Express, they usually deliver my packages way before schedule for me, but then I'm in HK.

 

I always use 17track in combination with USPS tracking, but only SFExpress tracking gave me the details in your case.

I ordered Noah on the Ascent body today, a September birthday present the I might get for New Years.

 

Happy year round birthday! Works for me! I admit, I broke down and ordered one the day they went on sale. He has all the alterations I was going to make on the Adagio already done! So...JP gets a body. Not something I was intending, but...hey. Why not? It's only money, right? (Ouch)

 

RIght! Ouch! but I'm using "my Birthday/Possibly Christmas present to myself" as an excuse (since hubby does the similar thing for himself). Then I will have all four tiny male bodies in house.

 

I blush to admit, I've got all four boys and Jane (with a Ninth head) on the way. This order is birthday, Christmas, New Years, and any other excuse I can come up with! My only excuse is, I've been in this hobby for nine years and it's my first actual order since I got Morgaine and Vanye in the month after Wiishu came to me. So...I've kinda been saving up.
