I want to ask ppl who have ordered from FMD,
do you get an email confirmation about your order, an invoice or anything?

I just place my order but I receive no email or invoice, do I just login to paypal and pay them with my order number?
or should I wait for the invoice to pay?

Yeah I think that's normal, you can just pay them and leave a comment about your order number (I also include my user ID), then you can leave a note on their message board too if you want to make sure they got it.

I saw blonde and pink, and pink and grey.

I just got my FMD wigs, but I am not dare to cut it or style it... although the bands look a little wreck...

 

Here's a couple shots, sorry they're terrible, I didn't style or do anything to the wigs, just plocked them on these heads. They're not actually for these dolls.

Cocoa Brown and #30 is very very similar, but I'd say #30 is bit more red and brighter.
In retrospect I should have gone for more red (#13) in the custom mix, it got a bit overpowered by the darker colour.. but I'm still happy with it.

Size-wise, 7" fits perfectly on my Bory and Doll Chateau Hugh, 7-8" is quite big for these two, and on the big end for 7-8 wigs, imo. 6-7 is too small (but I did manage to squeeze it on a custom head that is a bit smaller than Bory, so it's perfect for my purposes).

I cut the wig a lot because it wasnt cut neatly.

 

I'd like to request pictures of the wig [FMDS-1058] in the colors Soft Brown and/or Bronze Beige.

Any other types of wigs with these colors would help greatly, as well. ^_^

 

Does anyone have a wig in the color vintage green?

 

I have one from ForMyDoll, sadly I have no clue about the style, but the color is 110 (I think).
It's probably the thickest wig with the most wefts I ever had :'D

Sweet Milk is an interesting color; in some lights, it can appear bluish or purplish, which you can see a bit of in this photo, while in others it's just plain white, and under flash it looks silvery.

Evelien, I'm not sure about the wig you're looking at but I can tell you that the ones I bought don't have a ton of stretch to them.

 

Thanks for the feedback. I've done a bit of research and most people seem to have 7-8" wigs for this particular head, so I got the FMD wig I wanted in a size 7-8". The head should be with me within a week or two now, depending on how long customs hold her, so we'll see!!

 

I am looking for owner pictures of For My Dolls wigs of the line of 1005. As in FMD -1005.
Size or color does not matter. I am after the looks and how well it styles.

Razzy wears 1005/Sad Love Song in black; it's pulled back into a full ponytail on her instead of being in the default style. I haven't fully styled the bangs yet, but I love its look on her.

I've also got a second doll wearing the same style in silver, with the bangs trimmed; I don't think I have a photo available right now of her that shows it well, however.

May I ask then if you think that the bangs could be tucked the other way - to the opposite side? Or does that make it look off?

 

Unfortunately, no; they're being held with the little clip for that photo for the purpose of showing off her face a little better, but without the clip the bangs fall in about the same place. The way they're placed, they only want to go to that side, and split in that position.

Yumeiro, you might be able to ask them about changing that. Unfortunately, it's a note I don't know about specifically with their customization options (I'm waiting for an answer on the exact same question now, in fact, for the same wig), but they do have some flexibility in how they make their wigs.

 

That is actually not a bad idea. But if you do not mind, could you perhaps share their reply?

 

I'll do my best to remember to share it over here when I get it! I can say that the customizations I do know of are to be able to order the "in stock" style wigs in a different color than what they're normally offered with, specific blends of color (like 60/40 or 80/20), and adjustments to the length ("size S with size M length").

 

An update since I've heard back from FMD, they apparently can do small changes to the bangs of wigs!

They apparently have four styles of wigs (straight, natural, left side and right side), so it's not "everything" they can do, but between those four options you can pull together a lot of different styles!

 

Has anybody some Vintage Green wig to show? It looks blue to me when I look at Formydoll site, but I want confirmation.

 

I would like to request some more pictures of color F9-1. It seems to wary from a very dark blue to the more lighter shade that is shown on their site.
So it would be great if anyone would take, perhaps... a flash and non-flash photo..? Or something, to let me get a better feel for the color before I commit to buy.

 

Yumeiro, I don't have a wig that color myself, but I've run a couple of group orders where a wig's been ordered in that color; it's definitely not a dark blue, but it is a very lovely shade. The only photo I actually have is this photo from my last order. On my own screen, the color shown is very close to the true color of the wig.

What is the postage time like for this company? I have just ordered and I am wondering when I should expect it home I ordered Lati yellow size Vintage green wit long hair and fringe x

 

It's fairly quick, Uberpinkii. My last order from them was a GO for over $1000 (with several customized wigs) and took right around a month to arrive; smaller orders are generally quicker, but it's been a while since I did a smaller order from them. It'll also vary a bit based on whether you ordered an "in stock" or "pre-order" wig, since pre-order ones have to be made, while in-stock just need to be packed up.

I was worried about how some of the mixed color wig cut would look like but this thread answered most of it.

Got some question for folks with who order color% mixtures for solid color wigs (ie VIP, Boring day etc). How do you let them what your percentage mix is?

- Don't add a color and write it in the payment note?
- Add another note to Q & A?

what about adding a few color streaks to said wigs?


I only ordered solid color wigs from them a few years back.

 

For a mixed color wig, I generally set the color as the dominant color, then in a note or 1:1 message, I give the actual mix for it (ie "Please make the wig FMD-1084 in color 144 as a mix of 80% 144, and 20% F4, thank you!"). Usually, since I'm doing it as part of a GO, since notes are limited in length, I make the note "please see 1:1 message for customization" and do them all there, but if you're just doing a normal order, adding it as the note is the best way to go! That way it's definitely attached to the order.

They can't do any streaks in wigs unless it's a "point" wig, then you can choose base and point colors. If you want streaks, you'll have to order the "hair bleach" sets and just add them yourself.

Hopefully that helps you out! I'm on my third GO with them and always have customs open, so I've learned a lot along the way about what they can and can't do, and how to order it.

Mainly its a small order and the wigs that I'm interested in are already in the cut that I'm after, the only thing missing are the streak/point options for VIP.
Color mixes is an alternative I can live with.

Would you say your photo is pretty colour accurate to real life? Cause if it is, it looks absolutely AWESOME on my monitor =D

On my monitor the wig color in that photo is slightly blue tinted (that photo was taken in very bright natural light). In real life it is a very vibrant royal purple. To me (again according to my monitor), the photos of it on For My Doll's website are pretty accurate. Hope that helps.
