Fairyland MiniFee MNF discussion part 68

@Littlebirdzoom Definitely agree that I love it, PW is my top company so this is perfect for me! I really want the event head (I'm thinking in bw, I want a ghostly look), and while I like Layla and the grey skin, I'm not sure I want the full set. So I'm also really hoping the open Ala carte with elf grey.

 

I’m curious to see a doll standing in the new high heel feet! I wonder why they’re called “kill” feet. I’d like to get a pair but heel shoes are already so pricey/hard to find that I feel like I wouldn’t get much use out of them.

 

@Shojo-Chan Here's my Ariel free-standing in her kill heels! She stands pretty solidly and well compared to some of my other dolls.

 

Can anyone tell if Layla has teeth? I feel like my eyes are playing tricks on me because I see little monster teeth, or is it just a glare of the glossy paint between her lips??? I haven’t gotten a fairyland doll in a while (I got sucked into the peakswoods dolls) but she is so similar to their aesthetic and I am not sure I could resist her if she has teeth.

 

I'm fairly certain she does, but I could be wrong. It looks like little monster teeth to me and her lips are slightly parted.

 

I am so glad Layla is not my type. I will move according to my plan for creating my warrior queen.

But armour is still amazing! I need it

 

if you look at her blank sculpt she does have two front teeth sculpted in! I'm not sure why they chose to make them black in her promo pics

 

I ordered her in white skin on a Moe body with face up. She will be my second Minifee girl, the other is a Ingrid. Would have loved her in grey skin, but since that wasn´t offered "a la carte", white skin was the next best option. Now it´s waiting and shopping stuff for her time

 

I zoomed in on her blank sculpt in the a la carte and it doesn't look like she has teeth to me. It just looks like her mouth is open.

 

I think you're right. Her mouth is definitely open but I don't see much sculpting definition inside her mouth, so maybe the teeth are just painted? I guess it leaves for some faceup potential.

 

I'm not sure. I don't even see any teeth in the photos It just looks like bounce light on the gloss they put on her lips imo.

 

Could very well be! I thought I could make out individual strokes, but could easily just be an illusion. I guess once she starts being shipped out we'll know for sure.

 

The "teeth" in the pictures is definitely just heavy gloss shine since you can't see it at all in certain angles and at other angles it looks longer or shorter or differently shaped. In the blank sculpt she looks like she has two sides of a tongue or something sculpted in there - there's something inside the mouth, but it doesn't look like monster teeth at all.

 

Very interesting! I guess we will just have to wait and see! It’s too bad it is so hard to tell for sure or not.

 

I hope like the kill heel feet that they eventually release some extra long nail hands separately like these gauntlet hands have. They are so cool. I mean, I would buy the gauntlet hands ala carte if I could too but alas I don't see that happening! I think I need just one pair of kill heel feet for now. I hope more shoe makers start making cool shoes that fit them like we see for smaller fashion dolls. Idk if they fit my personal doll aesthetic since they are a more modern look but I love looking at them!

I was kind of hoping the Icarus release meant they'd start releasing outfits to buy separately. I wonder how come just that one was offered!

The new girl is so gorgeous but I think I'm ok. But I do kinda wish I wasn't safe since that Phoeb elf head is sooooo cute hehe! Her outfit is super fun! I have the F65 versions of the pieces but they look so cute smaller and that blue color is awesome!

 

I weirdly am safe too. She's gorgeous and I love her concept, but for whatever reason I think I will be ok. Which is a huge relief, I'm not even going to lie lol.

 

I am safe too! Big relief ‘cause I spent a lot on the tinies, but she is really beautiful and someday, I might have to get her without the full set , but my wallet has to recover first.

Instagram! Someone was selling her with a centaur body for a price I couldn't afford but I convinced them to sell me just her head. It's definitely the most I have ever paid for a doll head but I am still so excited that I'll finally have her soon!

 

I’m safe from Layla but not from that dreamy event head! I ended up rushing to grab a phoeb and a tan Puki… I’ll see myself to the waiting room

 

Despite having Fairyland dolls for many years, I've yet to post here! I'm working on my Kai girl and she's finally looking closer face wise to the way I want she's wearing my favorite wig that I've had for literally like a decade but never a doll it worked for.

Your doll is wonderful!! I don't have Minifees, but I like to admire them)) And Ingrid is my favorite one. I would be glad to see more of her photos here or in other networks like Flickr etc.

 

Thank you! I haven't taken anymore photos of her yet. I'm in the process of gathering supplies/figuring out patterns and such to make her some outfits. My flickr is linked in my signature though. So I'll probably end up posting some photos of her and the outfits on there later. I also have a Project Journal in the workshop forum.

A few Icarus fullsets arrived at DDE and I'm crossing my fingers that mine will be here soon, too! I'm more excited for this boy than I've been for a set in a while, minus Phoeb.

 

Do minifee use 6/7 or 7/8 sized wigs?

 

In my experience, if the wig cap is *very* stretchy a 6/7 will work - or if the
company’s wigs run large like Leekeworld a 6/7 will work. Otherwise a 7/8
seems to fit the best. For hardcap wigs, 7/8 seems to be the way to go as well.

It may be that some of the newer minifee heads are smaller than the older - so
that may change the fit possibilities. Easier to make a slightly large wig work
than one that is too small tho.

Yep!

 

It really depends on the sculpt. Fairyland has been moving towards smaller heads, so sculpts like Mio, Luha, Lami, and Lookback all use 6/7" wigs but Sarang19, Celine, and Chloe use larger wigs. It also depends on the wig maker as well.

I have been able to get some 6/7" wigs onto the larger noggen ones but they may not sit right, like you will have hair gaping by the temple or side burns. Personally I would always err on the side of a soft cap versus a hard cap unless the artist has the exact size you are looking for. You can also pin the back if you need a temporary fix.

I always buy one or two wigs from a maker to just test it out.

I'm interested in both vampire Hwayu and vampire Jiyu... But I have small issues with each of them ahaha. Jiyu's fangs are so teeny tiny. I love the size of Hwayu's fangs, but I'm not a fan of the human teeth and would prefer a closed mouth.

There honestly doesn't seem to be too many of either sculpt around, which surprises me!

I actually have two vampire Jiyu boys, one as a full set which he never wears, and the second was from the blue skin event not long ago. The blue one has no face up yet so not really worth sharing a photo of yet, however the other has a couple of pix on my flickr.

So as here might as well share a photo of my first Jiyu. This is Vairius or Vee for short he is mostly a sweet heart.

Yes the hands for all MNF are interchangeable, though some look more masculine and some look more feminine. I have a pair of the older heart hands that work for either perfectly. In Feeple 60 and 65 the hand size differences are more noticeable then in MNF sizes.

Also I have female high heel feet on one of my motion line boys. The fits vary a bit between dolls and parts so that is always something to keep in mind even if the parts are meant to work things can be a little off based on actual casting.

Same. Like are they going to add neck connecters with heads? Or open up like option parts for fairylines as an anytime thing so you can like buy some wings or a mer-tail? Like it's such unique wording.

Very curious about the hybrid thing as well. It's a very specific word choice. I thought maybe they would offer heads for sale alone, but that wouldn't make any sense for the word choice? If they open permanent fairyline parts or hybrid parts with that I'm going to lose my mind!

 

Did anyone buy DES since she came back? I'd love to see photos, bonus for white skin or default faceup!

I hope so much it will me Moe boy with cutie bust. I asked fairyland a few weeks ago and got now answer :/

 

A moe body with a cutie bust would be the perfect body for the Luha I want to buy! This option would be great, but I'm not sure if this is what they mean by "hybrid". But I'll keep my fingers crossed. I'm so curious to see what this option would be.

I've recently fallen back in love with Minifees (we have a lil bit of a love-hate relationship lol but it's my own fault for not previously knowing what I really wanted in my collection) and just wanted to share a quick pic of 2 of my girls, Paloma (Rames) and Olive (Altis).

I'm hoping "Hybrid a la carte" means that the Fairyline option parts will be available separately. I'd like dragon legs for my Jiyu.

 

She is a beautiful doll and I love her sleeping face...she looks so peaceful.

What a great idea! She looks like she's sitting on a swing. I do enjoy seeing how everyone photographs their dolls and this one looks gorgeous!

I only have one Minifee (Celine) which I purchased from MissAniThrope on DOA way back January 2014!! I think she's still as gorgeous as when I bought her.

 

Loving the dance studio moment. I think Minifees can be hard for some newer collectors. I have also found myself falling out of love despite for a large part of my collection being company loyal. Life is cyclic and I hope that one day the love will come back.

 

DDE’s IG has released some details of the event. It looks like the Moe body will be available with Moe/active line parts, but not active with Moe parts. There will also be a new skin color- Otjize red. Some PKF faceplates will be updated. Qualified orders (contains a hybrid and meets unknown price requirement) can order heel shoes or kill heel shoes.

Personally I’m not tempted, but I look forward to seeing what other people order.

 

I'd rather they offered the skintone of the Himba people who wear Otize paste..... oh well.

 

Yeah also not tempted this time around, but I do look forward to what comes of this with others.
