FairyLand Fairy Line Mini discussion part 5

Sep 21, 2017

    1. @greenfaerie Thank you very much!

@D795 She's lovely! It's so wonderful to see how the sculpts look with different faceups. I'm glad you like her, she's so sweet.

    2. @D795 oh! She's lovely!

It's really amazing what a different artists aesthetic does to their looks.

    3. Hey guys ! I was wondering I anyone could help, I’m aquiring some minifee momo bunny legs soon in a trade and was wondering if I bought a la Carte fairyline girl from DDE she would have the quick change feature so I could easily put the momo legs on her ? Also how is the posing for the fairyline upper body ? ^+^

    4. Yes that would work and it's what I did. I got the horse part of a centaur body first and then ordered a Fairyline body directly from Fairyland. I took off the doll's legs easily and she attached to the horse part without any issue.

I can't comment much on the upper body posing since this is my first MSD and the biggest doll I've had. I can tell you she doesn't pose nearly as easily as a LittleFee and she feels a bit stiff, but she's good enough for me.

    5. Okay thank you very much :)

    6. I absolutely love the seahorse parts.. I really want one in transparent pink from either Sia or Alicia. They're both so beautiful!

    7. I'm hoping one day I can also get my mitts on a seahorse tail. The transparent resin looks gorgeous but I'm also a big fan of the opaque tails.

    8. I hope you can get one, I love mine so much. Here's my girl Arkady

    9. Can I ask anyone who owns an Alicia what size eyes they have in her? I'm thinking 12mm for a more realistic look but I am also hoping they won't gap too much.

    10. I have 14mm in both of mine but I imagine 12mm would work as well. I'm not positive on gapping though.

    11. Hello there! :)
I wanted to ask if anyone could tell me Sia's head measurement in centimetres? I fancy trying to make a wig for her while I'm waiting for that magic shipping email from Fairyland to arrive

    12. Thanks! I ordered a set of 12mm so we'll see how it works, I think I have 14's wandering around somewhere >.>

My Alicia came back from the artist and I'm DYING. :D Now to think of the perfect name for her <3

    15. I've been thinking that it could be helpful to people who are just getting into MNF/Fairyline if we put information in the intro posts to the fairyline and MNF threads concerning the torsos not being possible to hybrid.

    16. Can anyone please let me know if it is possible to string a pair of fairyline legs to an a-line torso? Are the bodies the same size at the waist/hips area?

    17. @Miku_Plantman it's doable! I assume you mean partially restringing the top half of an a-line body to use fantasy parts with? I tried putting fairyline human legs on an a-line renewal girl a while back (removed the a-line legs and hip piece and tied a ring into her elastic like the fairyline bodies have to hook the lower body parts onto) and the fit was pretty good, although not perfect. You'll get some gapping/muffin-top effect in my experience, but it's a better fit than say, swapping male and female parts.

    18. @Cennie thank you! That is a relief, far easier than what I was thinking. A muffin top would be cute :) I was debating the pros and cons or re-stringing the legs to the A-line doll from the knees down but the idea of un-stringing the legs was making me nervous.

    19. @Miku_Plantman that's still a good alternative to try if the hip/waist fit bothers you! You'll have to unstring the a-line legs entirely either way, so if you tie up the elastic instead of cutting it you should be able to try both with a little messing around. It's definitely easier if you can just leave the fairyline piece you want to use strung normally though. Hope it works out :)

    20. Any hype for the Klaus? Wish they'd put pictures in their image blog of his armor and heads

      • x 2
    21. I really want him! But I can't afford the full doll atm as I just spent $1000 on a minifee lot, so I would have to make a split as the only things I really really want from him, is the elf head, vampire head, wig and premium eyes ^^" <3

    22. I’m a little confused on the rationale behind the pricing on Klaus and the centaur parts. Maybe it’s a mistake but if I’m reading the DDE website right to get the centaur parts separate in the tan color it’s $900 ($820 if not in tan). But if I got a basic Klaus centaur in tan it’s $1060 ($980 if not in tan). It seems weird that a head and torso would technically only run $80-160 and the centaur parts make up the bulk of the cost. I’m sure they have their reasoning but it’s all a little too funky for me. Or maybe it’s a typo??

Also does anyone know if they’re really selling the centaur parts in natural skin color or do they mean tan and then tan means Agra tan? If so is this the first time centaur parts are being offered in natural?

    23. Hello So i wanna be sûre of something cause i m à bit confused

A fairyline Torso girl on klaus centaur won’ T match ? Thanks :)

    24. I'm so stoked; I have a tan Lucywen elf on layaway after tons of stalking the sales forums! I think this'll be my last doll until 2B ships in the fall.

    25. Hiya, I have just bought my first Minifee - a Fairyline boy body and the Faun legs from Altis in the violet grey colour. Not being familiar with the head sculpts, I am trying to find the best head sculpt for his character (think... Mr Tumnus).
Altis doesn't work for me, can anyone recommend a head that shouts quirky boy?

I am not sure if anyone has found a good male head hybrid option, without having to mod anything, or whether the Fairyline neck would even allow this?

    26. Where are you finding the info about the centaur body on its own? I do not see it on the website :) I did read on facebook that more people were confused about this, since the price is so high for the body on its own compared to a basic Klaus.

Regarding the skin colour, I believe Sircca's centaur parts also came in natural skin. So natural is indeed natural, and tan is normal tan, not agra tan.

    27. At the bottom of this page the horse body is listed separately.

And that’s interesting about the skin options! I had no idea. I though natural skin would make the horse body look very odd. Thanks for the info!

    28. @lyderic in my opinion/experience the cross fit between male and female fairyline parts is bad, yes. Hard to say exactly about Klaus parts specifically b/c they haven't been released and the Altis faun legs are the only male fairyline fantasy parts so far. I'd imagine you'd have similar incompatibility. Sounds like Fairyland will be releasing adapters eventually though, so it might not ultimately matter.

    29. Video of Klaus is up on the Fairyland Youtube. It shows a bit more of the armour centaur body in the 2nd half of the video.

Edit as I can't get link to work

    30. Here it is. :)

    31. I've got Klaus vampire elf centaur on a 9 month layaway, but I do hope at least the armour on the upper legs might be removable (even if the rest in built in).

Where the Fairyline female upper body is thinner than the Motionline version for Altis (and likely Klaus) I'd imagine there would be the same gaps if you used a female Fairyline body as with the Altis male faun legs. (Luckily they released a replacement female faun pelvis piece for that, even if it does mean re-stringing.)

To handle the same issue for the centaur body, there's the modified Sircca centaur body (being listed now) but Fairyland haven't clarified if it'll come with a replacement piece again, a built in adapter, or how exactly it might fit a male Fairyline (Fairyline Motionline?) body as well. I hope they post more info, or a video, soon.

Btw. I do suspect we'll see a male Fairyline Motionline seahorse next at this rate ;)

    32. Thank you PacificBlue for adding the video. I have trouble with adding links.

I still trying to determine if I like the armor on Klaus or not. The design and placement of the armor on the hindquarters slightly bothers me.

    33. I
      I love her bra ❤️

    34. I'm wondering, if none of the armour is removable, how cleanly I could Dremel parts away, as I'll be doing that anyway to take off the skulls.

    35. Has anyone ever tried a Volks Midi head on a male Motion or Active body? I'm more interested in proportion and fit over resin matching. Since I don't think FL resin matches Volks at all anyway.

    36. Does anyone know if there are pictures of the human head for Klaus anywhere? I've been waiting for a few days in hopes Fairyland will provide them, but it seems they're only showing the vampire head... I would love this boy in tan, but if I'm gonna have to mod teeth off, I dont wanna pay for the FL face-up.

      Edit:
I spoke too soon! Fairyland did upload a picture of the human head, he's very handsome~

    37. I really perked up when I saw the initial images for Klaus, and I've been waiting to see more details on him. But even with a 9 month lway I'm not sure I can justify 2k for him. Slight state of sticker shock over here.

    38. I do love that head.

    39. I asked Denver Doll by e-mail about the centaur body (Sircca's body) and how does it fit for boys and girls and the answer was:

"The centaur body fits both the Fairyline boy and girl bodies. The hip part has been modified to fit both. There are no additional parts needed to make it work for both bodies."

But I still would like Fairyland to show how does it work. I'm really afraid of buying it and then discovering that it won't perfectly fit on my male Fairyline body. Fairyland posted photos of the first two centaur bodys on it's image blog, but none of Klaus...I would like to see him unpainted...

    40. Basically they've widened the design to fit the male Fairyline Motionline upper body of Klaus and Altis, and so there will just be gaps around the waist if you use the new Sircca centaur body with the thinner upper body of female Fairylines like Sircca, Lucywen, Sia, Alicia, Momo, etc.

    41. Hi guys I have a question, I have a really hard posing my fairyline body. already had a few times her in two pieces .. That's more annoying then a problem ofcourse. I have had m-line and a-line before and never had these problems.
Are there more people with these problems?

    42. My fairyline was a pain to pose ( rendia release ). My friend restrung her and sued her and she poses really well now :)

    43. Sueding can also help significantly! I like to use microfiber lens-cleaning cloths; the texture is really good.

    44. Okay thank you much guys, I will try that then^^
Alos know I' am here a little photo of by girl:

    47. @Annaku She is absolutely beautiful!

    48. thank you so much! :love

    49. Is anyone actually ordering the Sircca centaur parts v2 (with the waist part widened to fit the male torso) or is everyone else finding the price extremely steep as well?

    50. I'm highly considering ordering both the Klaus and Iru fullsets. For the price of Klaus with the centaur body I can get both fullset dolls.

    51. Your mermaid is beautiful Annaku! :love

I would like to join you all in this thread and share with you my first Minifee, sleeping Mirwen head, on the Altis body. Dependent on how quickly I sell a few dolls, depends on how quickly I can start his project. Technically he is a Birthday present for August, but if I can sell a couple of dolls then he may not need to be...lol

    52. That's what I did so I'm obligated to enable you to do it too :P

I plan on selling off my MNF body and just keeping the Fairyline body to swap them around on. Maybe that'd help the cost? If you don't mind sharing.

    53. I have too many expensive hobbies and just spent what would've been a DDE layaway payment on something else. :sweat

I was toying with the idea of getting Klaus in tan and Iru in white skin and swapping their fullsets. Klaus would make an adorable moody rabbit boy. :whee:

    54. Got my Sircca Elf's body back with the lovely outfit I commissioned from a local collector! He is becoming so perfect! I just need to get him a tiara and his faceup is still needing a few details~ <3

Anyone else who has a male Sircca?? I would love to see them! :D

    55. Is anyone else finding their human leg parts are prone to collapsing? I feel the one leg just gives out if you look at it and the whole thing just asks to fold at the hips.

I restrung my fairy line Alicia's human legs this morning before going into work because I was preping for a possible photo shoot. I think it's better but only marginally... The left leg still seems prone to fold up which makes me not trust her to stand.

    56. One of mine has this problem with her human legs (Rendia). Literally impossible to make her stand. I haven't bothered to restring her though cause she always uses a seahorse tail anyway. Of my other two f-line with the human legs, my Alicia actually has great posing, and my Momo is somewhere in-between, but can stand with some effort.

I wonder if they made a small tweak somewhere after the first couple f-line dolls cause it seems like the more recent ones are better about it. When was your doll made, out of curiosity, Elcia?

    57. She's an Alicia and like yours she's usually on her teal mermaid tail so I hadn't really noticed. But I went to get her ready for some photos as a human and getting her to stand on flat level surface was a chore.
She seems a little better after being restrung but still a touch funky. I'm wondering if she's "settled" because her torso is pretty loose a well.
