My Olivia arrived yesterday, and now I have a new favorite in my collection~

Her posing is the best of all my Dream Valleys so far, didn't even have to hot glue suede her anywhere. Her ear and tail magnets are super weak though, lol, but that's my only nit-pick.

Haven't done her face-up yet, but I just got done dyeing her human parts a nice peachy color. I think she looks cute with my wolf guy. :3

 

It's a pity to hear that the ear magnets are so weak, but great to know that she poses beautifully and people really like her. More to consider, more to consider...

I’m just one payment away from getting my Olivia out of layaway, and then she’ll be on her way home too. It will be happy days for me because she’s a long sought best friend for one of my oldest dolls, and will finally complete one section of my collection (lovingly called Bunnyland.)

Double layer nested resin, too. Curious if this will be a super limited run, because that looks like an absolute pain to create.

 

She was posted on a dealer's Facebook, they say she is likely 1/4th. 100% she's a cool looking doll though.

 

She looks amazing. I'm safe though as she's a she and I don't collect female dolls. My wallet is overjoyed.

 

Yeah, seems like DV is really pushing what they are doing with their dolls and that's on top of them already being highly creative with their dolls. Thankfully, despite loving butterflies and skeletons, it's not really appealing to me. I'm still curious to see some close up details of the doll as it looks like an interesting doll.
I wonder if it's based on the Asian idea of Moths being connected to death? And if it was meant to be their Halloween doll but things got delayed and they put the rabbit dolls in the release slot instead?

 

Fortunately that doesn't appeal to me, as given the issues I've had with the DV dragon I recently received I imagine an endless nightmare of problems with that experiment. Transparent resin is a bit more brittle in my experience.

 

The new doll is *amazing*. I’m more enamored by Dream Valley with every new sculpt they release. Unfortunately, she’s a bit much for me. If she was just a skeleton without all the butterfly bits, I’d be more tempted.

 

hello everyone! i am thinking of purchasing a body from dream valley but wanted to know if they do sales for the holidays?

 

I got my Deimos during a body sale event. I ordered him as separate Howard II head and 3-arm body, and the event was in February of last year. I don't think that's a regular event though, so I don't know when they'll do one again.

That new butterfly/dragonfly skeleton girl looks really cool. Fortunately I don't think she's for me, as I'm currently waiting on a red doll from DV, and two more MSDs form Dollzone and Miracle Doll.

 

Yes, Alice's Collections and Clover Singing have done sales in the past (when I bought a body, Clover + sale discount was cheapest). As we're not far from Christmas sales then worth waiting a bit to see if they'll do a sale event for DV.

 

Excellent guess i shall wait and see and hopefully i can get a good deal. fell in love with the body 4 now >_< its so pretty

 

Satisfied with Clear's outfit for now! I'm pretty sure the top will work with his mer tail too should I decide to switch.

 

Does anyone have a comparison of DV Normal Pink and MDD Semi-White? The B4-19 body is beautiful and I really want to use it for a hybrid

 

hello all!, does anyone know if the heeled feet fit the boy bodies? i saw that they have some for the msd girl (19 and 11)

 

They have pictures of the new Bone Butterfly up on their twitter and she's BONKERS.

 

She looks so cool!! I can't wait to see more pictures of her.

 

I am very tempted by the new bone butterfly girl...she is a top contender for my Christmas doll splurge...

I have never purchased from DV before! But I love her macabre elegant style~

 

My wallet is very relieved that she is a she as I don't collect females. But I love the aesthetics of her. I think they knocked it out of the park with the clear resin showing the bones inside. I also love that her butt is a butterfly, too.

 

Oh noooo..... Bone Butterfly might get me!! t's just too exquisite!

 

I didn't expect to get her because I largely prefer to collect boy dolls, but I think I may have to get the Bone Butterfly. Her face is perfect and her proportions are sooooo fantastical and delicate.

The normal version though, because I'm worried about her transparent parts breaking.

 

The new girl is super cool, especially with the white bones in the transparent limbs. I like her face, too. Fortunately for my bank account, she doesn't appeal to me aesthetically otherwise.

 

I've been a staunch "SD and bigger only with the exception of my one tiny" person my entire time in the hobby, but Crystal finally broke that rule. Placed my order yesterday and I'm already pressed up against my window like "packige?"

 

i have been holding off ordering to see if there would be any holiday/winter sales but i am so excited to order thinking of getting some heeled feet and extrra hands as well. i love well sculpted the dream valley parts are

1) he is 1/4 scale.

I sent a screen shot of that dragon to one of my friends. She's writing a series that feature dragons as main characters. I'm directly responsible for her getting at least 3 dolls that are characters in the series (and she's saving for a 4th I've found her). Her husband may want to do me bodily harm should he find out about this latest one.

 

I was just coming here to post the same thing! I have all of the YES I WANTS but i'm expecting the price to be pretty high so already wincing. I was wondering what DV was going to do for Year of the Dragon but wasn't thinking it would be so literal! I do have a black dragon OC I would love to make a doll of so I may have to look in to layaway options. I have a feeling that I would genuinely regret not getting it, especially if it ends up being a one time release. Oh boy, between the nagas, snow leopard and now this dragon, DV pretty much owns my wallet

On a side note, the dragon reminds me a little of Cuarto's Antare but on a smaller scale. I loved Antare but the large size/weight/price made it a no go for me (i'm not sure if Cuarto ended up taking any orders for Antare as I think they were getting pretty ill at the time). It's nice to have a smaller, nice realistic looking dragon become availble!

The only thing i'm worried about is there seems to be a lot of spikes, particularly on the front legs that might be vulnerable to catching on something and breaking. It look like there's some sort of detail going on with the front legs, maybe some kind of molded armour/accessory?

 

Oh my god I need him. So glad I held off on doll purchases at the end of the year.

 

I thought about my first dragon love - Cuarto's Antares - too. I always want him, but he was too expensive.
Now I wish to get this DV dragon, because it looks spectacular too.
And my two DV Dragon boys just need a sibling.

I think he has movable jaw like their 1/6 dragon - Flo.

I know what you mean. If we only be able to grab this dragon to our collection we will have to handled with spikes very carefully. One the other hand we could also sand this spikes down. In this hobby doll modifications are this what's make our dolls so special.

 

Between DV's new dragon and Whale Tower's Rafayeh I'm going to be paying a whole dragon's hoard in layaways next year RIP...

Since next year is the year of the dragon I'm hoping they also bring back some of their models like Sylves and Silina...

Looks nice, but I also wouldn't have any space to display it. Plus with my recent DV dragon experience I wouldn't trust it to not explode.

 

Welp I might have to find a way to get this one, but before I make up my mind I'll need to see more pix. The preview pic is promising though.

That dragon looks amazing, but I most certainly do not have the space or the budget for it. I am looking forward to seeing more photos though.

Holy moly! He's a big 'un. My wallet is very, very grateful I do not want or need a dragon in my collection. He's gorgeous though.

 

Am I the only one who thinks, it's too small? On the picture with a human, it looked enormous. Now it's a baby dragon me wants massive dragon toddler

 

Yes, I'm a little disappointed of the size of this dragon too. I thought he's much bigger than MSD. But... still want him so badly.

Maybe on the end of the next year DV will give us a bigger one?

 

Update on the dragons, explaining the size discrepancies: there's two sizes, 1/4 and 1/6! And the painted options look absolutely gorgeous.

 

Dream Valley continues to shatter my "I don't collect on the mini scale" rule...I desperately need them to give a price so I can decide if I'm taking the plunge on the 1/4 dragon.

 

Was thinking about passing on the dragon because of the size, but now knowing there's a tinier one AND I can get it in red resin. It's all very tempting especially since one of my fave ocs is a red dragon...Dream Valley is always so honed in on my preferences lol.

Hnnnnng. I might need one of them. Specifically a 1/4 one in Lava.

 

Welp I'm in love, and need one in either black or red they are too cool.

 

Oh man that dragon looks so awesome and is perfect for a character I am trying to shell. I would love him in red. But I have too many dolls on layaway, and told myself no new dolls this year.

I will try to be content with the dolls I have and visually appreciate other people's dragons.

I myself am still debating between the two sizes. 1/4 will likely work with my existing fantasy dolls better, but huge. And expensive.

 

Can't say I'm too surprised at the price with all those parts, but ouch. And yeah, that 1/4 is gonna be huge! At the moment, the only place I can think to put one of them is just let it lounge on the couch! Still tempting, though...

Edit: Doesn't DV usually rerelease their LEs once before retiring them completely? So maybe this won't be the only chance for everyone who wants one?

 

A friend of mine is looking at getting the 1/4 in red fully painted and it pops as $1,135UD (before shipping) and once you factor in the terrible exchange to CAN$... she's looking at forking out at least $1,520CAD *winces*. It might be said that this is my fault as I'm the one who linked her to the dragon knowing she'd want it with the fiery passion of 10,000 burning suns.

I had been watching all the pictures on Instagram and thinking oof it'll be way too expensive but danngg it's actually not that bad! And the little dragon rider girl?!? Get outta town I absolutely need her! I can't decide for certain which size or color just yet, having only recently realized I can actually consider this!

And now the terribly long-feeling wait to see the listings on Alice's Collections. Of course, after actually ordering the wait will be even longer, but at least it'll be locked in, you know?
