Dream Valley BJD Tiny Dolls

I got the Obi White Lan head, and I ordered the DV body in normal pink. I hope it will be a decent match as I head DV pink is a good match for Fairyland and the Lan head is close to the color of one of my Fairyland heads.

Oh my gosh, she is so awesome! And her wings! From the promo photos, they look like they are articulated in 3 places... O_O Cool! ^_^

I'd love to know the "Time Traveler" backstory - I tried to go to Dream Valley's web site but I just got a 404.

I placed my order for the Sherra Owl full-set with pink skin from DDE a couple of days ago!

 

I’ll post the pictures soon but I put my DV Pink skin head cap next to my white Lan animal head cap and though it’s noticeable by eye it’s not much different in photos. I still think the natural skin would look closer to it but pink is definitely a viable option for the body.

Now to stress over finding him clothes. With my tastes, boy clothes are hard to find, especially in this size.

 

I’m thinking about giving her a white wig but I don’t really like the one she came with. It’s soft but very flat and doesn’t stay on her head well. I would prefer something braided.

 

pigtail braids would be so cute. but she looks good in the wig you posted her with. Is that not the one she came with? or did it flatten out?

 

Yes, that’s the wig she came with. I think it’s a fur wig or something similar because it’s very soft and silky. I have a very light blonde braided wig that I bought from Etsy that she’s wearing now. It has a back braid with curls at the front.

It's chemo, so it's going to take a while...

I was planning to dye my girl black as I said so the resin match wouldn't be an issue, but it seems none of it is happening as Christina from Clover-Singing says that Yanwen Post claims my Lan did not get returned to sender while it definitely has. So she's apparently considered lost and I'm getting refunded, just like that>.>. So if I want my kitty girl I'll have to find one second-hand now=_=. Sorry if this is too off-topic, there's no thread for Lan yet and we were talking about DV-Lan hybrids specifically^^;;.

He's painted to look like Kimba, I only need to pain his tail tip. :>

 

My B6-12 and B6-14 bodies plus two pairs of demon heels arrived today. I don't have the energy for a complete restringing or to start sanding/modding right now, but it looks like it should be possible to string one of the boney cat tails on the Samander body that's been waiting for it. I did manage to put both twins' heel feet on without issue (on the B6-12 and the Samander body, I really like how they look on those long legs. Now I need their heads... Also just for the heck of it I tried to put the bone tails on the backarm body instead of the arm (who knows, it might look cool and Tokyo Ghoul-esque to have boney tentacles sprouting from the the back), but... that doesn't work as the magnets repel eachother. Oh well.

 

I’m glad you received your bodies. If you ever get the chance I would love to see the heeled feet on the skinny bodies. DV has such weird proportions compared to ‘standard’ bjds. :3

 

I finally finished customizing my Aiden since it was un-humid enough to spray sealant yesterday!

His tail is a little messier than I'd like, but it was my first time using an airbrush so I'm giving myself a bit of leeway here. Now I just need to figure out what I'm going to be naming the little dude!

 

Darn, I saw the new Dangerous Zone dog boys, and, well….I’m so tempted! I’ve been so good this year and haven’t purchased an on topic bjd, sigh. Neil is just so hard to resist. He would go so well with my Zhao cat boy (and his brother Soom Puss in boots). Humm, and what resin color? My cat boys are tan. Decisions, decisions!

@Potato Pancakes the light tan is so nice! I’m thinking Neil in tan would look amazing. I probably will go with tan too. Just the extra $55 is quite a lot (but worth it).

Other color is cool too, but gray also requires an additional $ and white color yellowed so quickly (
And I can't imagine him in normal skin. I think his paws will look strange

@Potato Pancakes yes, tan or gray seems to be the best way to go. I’m going to start saving up and my deadline is September 20th to make my final decision.

 

I also went with light tan! But I think you could use the normal yellow in a similar way to style say, a golden retriever? (Well, a mix with the ears) Or painted so that it shows as just a lighter color on the mouth and paws. Pink definitely feels like he would just look shaved, haha.

Honestly I wish they would have brought back chocolate/coffee for these, and also in general, but I'm interested to see how all 3 of their brown resins look together too.

 

I ordered Neil also in light tan! I fell in love with him immediately and knew I would order him when I saw just the first picture! I have Dear mine's King ( lion) and something about Neil's face reminds me of King. I love King's face sculpt, so I'm hoping Neil will charm me as much as King does! Iwant o paint Neil to look Luke a red fox! I may finally have to get an airbrush to paint him. I have a family of deer bjds and Neil will be their 'dangerous' new neighbor! This is my first Dream Valley doll. I nearly ordered the giraffe, Calle, but I changed my mind at the last-minute and ended up getting Dearmine Agrippa giraffe instead. I like dressing my dolls so it was the right choice for me! It will be hard to wait the 6 months for Neil! I hope it takes less time than that since I ordered a blank doll and nothing else. I once pre ordered a Dearmine Marie sheep as a full set and it took 8 months to arrive!( But she was defiinely worth the long wait!)

As for me, I asked my dealer to order Neil for me on Paker's body in light tan skin with make-up. I like his bone legs and I want to dye (iDye Poly or Rit dye) them black like on the promo.

 

@Potato Pancakes your Neil will be amazing! My biggest issue is figuring out what clothes to get. I want something historical, sci fi, or fantasy, but can’t ever find anything. At least I won’t need shoes. My deadline is September 20th to make my final choice.

 

Potato Pancakes, I wish I'd ordered my Neil with the face up, because it really does look good on him now that I look at it! Especially the eyes! Maybe I'll see if I can add it- I like doing my own, but the company ones are nice because of their durability. I can't wait to see photos but I'm sure it will be a while...

 

@kurogane Yes, the issue of clothing is always difficult. Sky-fi would be perfect, but I haven't seen anything like it either. Only if you try to sew yourself.
+1 for shoes. I love dolls with animal paws and hooves because I don't have to think about shoes
So far I have decided that I will buy a casual set of clothes for the first time (so that he doesn't sit naked) and then I will try to do something myself.

@CheshireCat I try to take dolls with make-up from the company, because it is difficult for me to determine what I want (and it is difficult to explain to the master). Maybe I'll erase it later if I realize that it doesn't suit me.
His gray eyes in the promo-photo are so generous Too bad they don't even put them in a full-set
What I definitely do not really like to take is blush of the body! No matter how carefully I handle it, I still damage it and get frustrated (I wiped a small piece of blush from my Zhao's gesturing hand when trying on clothes when sewing a suit for him)

 

I bought a dream valley coco second hand and he should be here in Monday :3. I'm hopeing he can maybe wear jackets and vests made fir fashion dolls. I'm so excited to have a new anthro doll to play with

Dream Valley is doing a re-release of Paris and Lanina as part of the Discontinuation Event. I love Paris, but I'm not sure what gender body they come with. Does anyone know?

 

my partner is looking to buy a calle in the discontinuation event that dream valley is having, but they're having trouble deciding between purple and grey, especially since the two colours are so close. Would anyone happen to have dolls in both resin colours to see better the difference?

I ordered Paris during the discontinuation event. So far all my tinies are mature or children is scale with them, so this will be my first childlike 30 cm doll. I have a non-binary character in mind and I'm so excited to get them! I know it won't be until spring, but that gives me plenty of time to order a wig and some clothes.

I would love Ita the dragontaur. The articulation on that neck and those wings is amazing.

 

Ita is cute but I'm so much more tempted by Flo the dragon! (She can join my growing dragon collection, I guess....)

I love that she seems to be flower-themed. Her scales look like petals and those 'horns' (?) on her head seem to be the stamens of a flower.

 

I have Izzy, she is so charming! I wish Samander had the same kind of face, I would love a second small dragon.

I have been collecting the DV centaurs and dragons, so a combined doll fits the theme of my collection really well, but I feel like her style is a bit different than the rest of their small dolls? I can't decide if her face is cute or not :/ I do agree the wings look amazing though, and the flower concept is well done.

Izzy/Samander owners, how well does the body pose? I'm debating between getting Izzy or Ita to use the body for one of my floating heads, and while Ita is gorgeous I think I've figured out I prefer bipedal...but on the other hand Izzy has an older body and she's kinda skinny so I'm unsure.

 

Just caught Coco (open eyes bunny) being on sale on Newclover for the jaw-dropping price of $85. As I was looking at bunnies (and being unsatisfied with ears/how human they looked/general unavailability), after confirming the site is legit on here, I went for it. Will they need a stand to be upright on their little feet? Oh, definitely. Do they look properly bunny? Yes, and I'm very pleased.

 

I ordered an Izzy over the weekend to be a companion for my ordered Paris. I know it'll be a while, but I'm excited for both of them!

Well, nearing a year after their arrival, and—my custom DV Moon is complete. Went a little nuts with the pearl-ex powder and gloss sealant, but I'm happy enough with the results:
