Dream Valley BJD Tiny Dolls

I don't have anything from DFA, but I think creamy white is your answer. I've tried to be careful with the amount of light my two dream valley dolls have seen (learning from my first two white skinned dolls from Dearmine) and I always look at them and have those same thoughts. But I went to grab my Loxy to try and give you an answer and I think creamy is it. I mean, he looks creamy even in my extremely dim room.

 

@HeavensChaos It's okay if you don't have any DFA resin, it's a pretty straightforward paper white. I was suspecting DV would be slightly toward creamy... this is my first white skin doll so I definitely want to avoid too much light for her. I really love the DV yosds, but I might have to wait on it for this particular hybrid. *cough* Maybe just get a whole DV doll later on...

@Beedalee here's a photo showing the inside of my DV Gary (tiny dragon) and a Dear Mine Pure White Ear. Dear Mine Pure White is the whitest resin I've seen, but I would say the DV white is a creamy white.

The gray is a neutral gray card for setting the white balance of photographs and compensating for lighting conditions. The photo has been color corrected but of course all monitors will display it differently, but at least it's a reference if you have tools to color balance any photos you take for comparison.

I got the Gary as in stock from a dealer shortly before they were rereleased so he's from the first batch. Otherwise I don't know the date he was made. The Dear Mine ear is older though and has been on display for a long time.

 

Finally received my tan Ding, who I ordered in May...………..a shot of him with his normal skin brother. Their little faces are just so cute I want to hug them. The tan is really translucent.

I love them, @JinCIncy ! I've been wanting a large baby bjd for so long! Did you do their faceups? Their hair turned out great.

Wow. I really hate the faceup in the company photos, so I'm surprised it looks so good in your pictures. Maybe it's the lighting or something. I love the drawn-on hair, though.

 

They are a lot cuter in person than in the company photos!

 

So glad those alicorn babies were purchasable alone cuz I neeeeed Beth. Just ordered her in white from AC this morning.

Edit: does anyone know what fits the babies? I was looking at pukipuki, lati white, and obitsu 11 pondering if I should just buy stuff to try out.

Hey guys, I have a DV Plum/Hawthorn (I forget which) and I'm looking for clothes. Does anyone here have them? Would they fit Barbie or MH clothes or any other mass-produced lines? I don't have any Barbies or MH dolls and neither do my friends, so I can't check myself.

 

I've found most dresses/shirts that fit PKF/Lati Yellow. Sylvanian Families/Calico critter dresses work, but are quite short over the large belly Ding has.

Here are the PukiPuki and DreamValley Ding hybrid pictures. My PukiPuki yellowed over the years, but as a bonus, I used a pukifee head on the Ding body as well. More pics in my gallery. The PukiPuki s-hook is very small and will have to be swapped, but be careful because it can become easily lost in the Ding body and you'll have to fish and pull it back up like I had to. Thank you!

But now that I've seen your ding, I'm OBSESSED!

The thing is, I love doing but I want open eyes. Do you think it's even possible on such a tiny doll?
Grug's eyes are TOO open, or maybe it's the shape I want to alter.
But if I could open ding's eyes, I'd be in business!

 

That's how I feel as well. I like Ding better, but I want open eyes. I am not brave enough to try a mod like that, though. Maybe we should petition Dream Valley.

 

Did anyone happen to get any of the newer foxes Glen & Aiden or Julie? I'm curious to see some owner photos since there haven't been any posted in here. I was wondering how well they pose with those big tails with their slim bodies.

 

@Suki-ru I have the wolf body of Glen and Aiden, there was a mixup with the head and I received the wrong head from my group order partner so I'm waiting for the switch, though
I can get some pictures tomorrow of just the body, I think it poses pretty great, honestly. It holds poses so well, the tail is bigger than the body is but I think it helps it out. It adds an extra point of contact with the floor, I got mine earlier to stand on one leg using the tail

I have just the body on layaway (sad the ears weren't available) and hearing that makes me more anxious for when it will be here even though I know that won't be till the end of the year or start of next year >w<

He was doing pretty good for being on carpet even

I think this slimmer taller body is more my tastes than their previous, smaller chunkier body.

 

@Suki-ru I couldn't get him to stand on my counter, it was too slick for there to be any traction
I also should point out, the hands don't have a ton of mobility as they're magnet and any time I tried to turn the wrist or move the hand, the hand would pop off and not actually...Shift
Otherwise, I think it's great, real sturdy

Oof, wish I had known they were magnet hands earlier! I have this body on order too but... oh dear, I am actually not liking it at all in pictures! I even paid extra for more hands. I think I expected something that bends as amazingly as Dollzone’s current 1/6 bodies. I hope when I get it I will feel differently!

 

I honestly didn't think to test how well his body bends, I can say the tail is fairly limited because of the fur details though
I think the hands could be swapped out for strung ones if you find them that size, the magnet is in the wrist piece which is attached via s-hook, so you should be able to take the wrist piece out and replace it with a standard s-hook hand. But they're soo tiny

 

I have had a look around for owner pictures, and it doesn’t bode too well for me. I can’t find any in which the doll looks natural. The best the body seems to look is when it is standing in the poses DV gave it (which is what enticed me), but doesn’t seem to pull-off other poses in a natural-looking way.

I actually just sold my suitable normal 1/6 hands I could have used too, agh!

By the way, I imagine the tail is strung through the body since it looks so heavy, but do you know exactly how? Is it on its own string, or have they done something weird and put it on the legs string?

Izumo got a skirt, that I had to hand sew because my sewing machine refused to do anything, so she looks super cute with her wig and an actual bottom now. I need to get some magnets to bolster the ones she has, they aren't strong enough to go through her wig.

 

Who all else is getting the kitties? I just ordered a Bustet in white from AC, as well as a Sultan head for the little guy I'm reshelling.

Couldn't resist her stubby fuzzy legs, she's gonna be friends with my Soom Lilid lion boy.

Still waiting on Beth as well, can't wait til they start shipping those ones out. What's the current wait time looking like btw? I ordered her mid-January.

 

I’m getting a kitty, I needed a cat doll In my collection and a centaur and they seemed to fit both criteria. Though they just released giraffe centaurs in purple and grey and I’m kinda regretting my purchase...but only a little.

 

They need a minimum order of 10 to sell the purple resin giraffe girls... I was tempted but went with the gray.

I'm completely in love with the giraffe centaurs, they're so graceful!! I'm already waiting for a Gloria in tan so I'm trying to resist the temptation

 

Would anyone who owns a Gary or Carey be willing to see if they're able to fit 12mm eyes? I know they're optimized for 10mm, but I've fallen in love with a 12mm set for a Gary I just ordered from a dealer, and I'm wondering if there's any way I could make them work.

 

Sadly I won't be getting the 1/6th fox body thanks to some frustrating negligence on part of the shop owner taking orders on items they aren't able to order. T____T They conveniently waited a whole month to inform me... Hopefully I can find one on the second hand market later in time

My Gary came in a couple days ago, and he decided to celebrate his arrival and new face-up by exploring my succulent fairy garden. I'm in love with this little guy - he's super expressive and stands like a rock.

I was concerned the new 25cm body would be drastically smaller than the original 28cm one, but they're pretty similar. Whew! The new one is thinner, and the jointing looks like it might be more peanut-like... i am worried about the ankles and wrists though, the ball-joint seems to be absent/fused to the hands and feet. i hope it poses well.

I had heart eyes for Zircon the moment cloversinging teased promo pics on her insta, but Heart is sooo cute too! I've been wanting a Dream Valley doll, but now I have choice paralysis lmao

 

Wow, that body's even smaller than Littlefees, which are 26 cm. I don't know, I have a 28cm Petite Ai and a 26cm Luts Honey Delf and they are different enough that they can't really share clothes. My Honey Delf looks like she's wearing her big brother's clothes.

I hope they don't discontinue the old bodies; I've been saving up for one. That Spade though, wow.

 

@thessalyrose Right though!! The two DV bodies seem close, but I still worry about clothing fits. Most of my other yosds are on the slimmer side at least... but I also really hope they don't discontinue the old bodies, I was pretty fond of them! I wonder if these yosd heads fit on the old bodies too? I've read some conflicting neck measurements.
But either way... they're sooo cuuute.... Spade is such a sulky baby!

 

She is so sulky! I never thought I'd like dolls with frowny or sad faces, but they are starting to fill up my collection. The grumpy ones are just so sassy.

 

Nox finally arrived yesterday. She's even more orange than I expected her to be being tan skin.

Here's a pic of her. The wig needs some desperate styling. With face up I'll be able to cool the orange down I'm sure.

 

@IzabethS Wow, congrats on her arrival!!! I was tempted to get a tan Ann too. (Which became a tan DV doll in general)

The resin is a bit more orange (and more translucent?) than other tan DV dolls I've seen, but I've heard a lot of 'orange'-tan dolls mellow out quickly though? tbh, I'd love to see more photos of her and (her future faceup too!)

 

Thanks @Beedalee! I was quite surprised at how orange she is, but I think I can live with it. Her face up will include gold and pinks I think, similar to Neriah, my WS Ann.

I think most of the tan DV dolls I've seen so far had been blushed by the company, which skews what the tan will look like. But they might be going down the same route as DZ in the past, where the tan progressively got more and more orange.

 

@IzabethS I love Neriah's facep so much, (I believe she was one of the first DV Anns I saw with a custom faceup) so I am *very* excited to see how her counterpart turns out!

Also, I contacted DV to ask if the original 28cm 1/6 bodies (B6-01 and B6-02) would work with the new 1/6 heads, and they not only replied but included a photo!!! I was so excited I had to share it here. Here's the reply:

Zircon is the one I'm eyeing so I was doubly excited! I think the new body is super darling too, but I had plans for the original taller body so I'm really happy that it works. This also might be really fun for someone who would like siblings/set of yosds with a small height difference or something!

Aww I thought the old body was discontinued so I got Zicron with the new body. Her head feels a little too big for the new 1/6 body. I'll see how she looks when she arrives

Received my Aiden II boy and Aiden II pet Wolf, and that is Athos' holding the pet wolf. They are all so beautiful. a few little scratches, but nothing i cannot fix. The mace and extra hands i ordered are missing so hopefully on the way... i should have gotten out the blank wolf from event I, he was supposed to be a Glenn but is also an Aiden i guess i have Aidens cubed...

What does everyone think about the limited mushroom dolls? I'm in love with Paris, but I'm not sure what color I'd like him in yet. A friend of mine edited the white resin in one of the promo pictures to match the chocolate headcap on the color comparison, but as far as I know, no one has been able to confirm how accurate the color is yet.

Can't confirm either; I only have DV Ann and Foxy and they're both in white. The image is really adorable, though! The only darker skin one I remember seeing from them was more of a tan than anything.

Chocolate was literally just released with the wolftaurs, so no one will have it yet for at least several more months. I have the old (discontinued) tan and it is orange (and I dislike it). It’s making me seriously contemplate dying my tan skin Ann....

 

@IzabethS I super recommend dyeing! I'm a big fan of it haha, it is really a magic fix-all.

I'm sorry I never updated this thread to say that my wolf 1/6 body arrived (B6-05 monster ver), and much to my delight, the version I got did NOT have magnets attaching the hands! Instead it had normal single piece hands attached via the s-hook. I experienced the version with magnets first-hand, and I wasn't a fan myself, so I was very glad to get a version without. I'm not sure why mine didn't have the magnets - maybe because it was a later release of the body - but I'm glad for it. No pictures though, sorry; I think because my hybrid uses a Doll Chateau head, it's OT for this specific thread.
