Dollstown Waiting Room ~2~

Just ordered my first Dollstown doll recently. Elysia. When I first saw this sculpt a couple years ago I think she was my least favorite. The more I saw different collector photos the more she grew on me. Now I luuuv her and just had to have her. I'm very excited.

 

Oh Elysia is lovely!.....I was going to save for a 15 yr boy Mui but after all the saving and waiting I don't think I'll bother now....I'll be content with my 3 girls for now anyway

 

Omg....Ganga is on her way!!....I've been feeling rather down today so this has cheered me up

 

Well according to PF website, Ganga has reached destination country....2 days ago! so why has she not moved since then?...arrgghh!
I hate it when nothing happens for days

 

Pixxells, I think you will love your Elysia. I have wanted mine for a long time, and when I got her she absolutely fulfilled my expectations. She is stunning! I especially love her profile; her nose is just awesome.

 

Oh I'm getting worried now....why has the tracking not changed for Ganga since she landed in the UK on Sunday evening???

 

Any idea as to how long it takes DT to ship once the parts are back in stock?

I wanted to order a Fresh Skin Elysia, but after contacting DT last weekend, I've been asked to wait until the 7yrs bodies are back in stock.

 

If you look at the Dollshe, they're the same colour. The Dollshe that have been appearing lately appear to be more tan than light tan.

Hurray, I just got word that my part has been shipped... and on checking the tracking, it's already at LAX! I hope they don't hold it in customs too long. And next... the terrifying task of restringing a doll, which I have never done. Yikes. Thank goodness for DOA tutorials... I'm going to need them.

 

Oh that's great news OolooKitty ...I hate customs, they have given me a charge for my Ganga and have had her held up for 4 days!
It's going to be next week now before I get her

Edit: Layaway paid. Hopefully my 15 girl body won't take too long to ship.

I paid via layaway and made the final payment recently. Here is his response to my final payment:

Thank you so much! I confirmed your all payment.
Dollshe is so busy now, and the reproducing is delayed now.
I think I can ship at the end of this month or early next month. After I sent, I will reply on this board about EMS shipping number.

It looks as if the 15 Bodies will be shipped at the end of this month or early next month.

 

It's not that long to wait I suppose.....some people wait much longer for their dolls! Lol

 

I've waited for Soom orders, so a few months isn't really that bad to me! XD
I'm still pretty relaxed about it so far, but I am waiting for another doll as well and I'm more anxious to get them home right now. Once they arrive if my Estella hasn't been shipped I may get more impatient lol.

 

My Ganga 5yrs came home today...she's now called Matilda...or Tilly

Congratulations! I'm fine with waiting for mine. At least I've been told by the beginning of June so that's only 3 more weeks. Not too bad considering I've only just paid off the layaway.

Well I paid for my Estella head yesterday....I sold Yeondu's to buy it....if I'd have had a barrow load of money I'd have kept it but that's life!....so I'll be getting Estella's head in another week and then hopefully her 15yr body a couple of weeks later

 

Woohoo, I am here, and for my dream doll, Mui!

I recently bought a Mui head from Dollstown by piggy-backing a group order with the very generous animemom... and now she's selling me a DT15B body too on layaway until July! Yay! What a great opportunity this was, and I can't believe that my dream doll will be coming home so quickly!!

Can't wait to finally see some DTkids in real life, after hoping for so long I'd once be able to bring them home!

 

Alas, I am still waiting for my little Ganga and Amy. At least the bookcase for display of my dolls finally came - it took three attempts and 3 weeks for the shipping company to get it to us - So I'll just have to play with the others until they come. (Sigh.....)

Quick question - do you need to check your order on the board to see whether you have a tracking number? Because I haven't been doing that.

Congratulations on your mini-Elysia boy, Kazuki! Does he have a name yet?
My own will be here soon too, but most times I can only really decide on a name after seeing the doll in the flesh and working on the face-up.

 

I ordered the end of February during the boy body sale. They shipped on Friday or Thursday (depending on Korean or US time) and are in customs now. Once they ship they usually come quickly. It has ended up taking just under 3 months.

I've got a 15y girl body on order and they told me when I paid her off that they were expecting to send it end of May/early June so not long now.

Actually, they're usually open year round, but Dollshe does their casting and they had a massive sale at the end of last year and have been busy this year so Dollstown is closed until they catch up.

You can do a layaway with Dollstown (I did) which means you're paying off as you go along so the wait isn't too bad. I finished paying off mine a couple of weeks ago and it is due end of this month/early next month. I took 2 months to pay a 15 girl body off.

 

It's great to be able to buy these lovely dolls through a Layaway, and it's surprising how quickly you can pay for something when you want it so much! Lol....I would struggle to buy these dolls if it wasn't for layaways and selling some stuff on ebay

 

Yes, layaway is a blessing and a curse.... I know I've bought a lot more because of it which is not necessarily a good thing.

 

I will have to join this room - I have ordered and paid for a paleskin mini Elysia head... It will be shipped next week (it is in stock)... She will be my first Dollstown.

I have no body for her yet. I would like a 7year-body - but that is so expensive... And looking around the board I find it hard to find another body that might suit her. Does anyone know of a thread that shows minihead on other bodies (and not just the questions to show them?)

 

I agree they are so expensive, and often wonder if there are other bodies to fit on the heads , but on the other hand, if you can raise enough money to buy a cheaper body then you could use that to put a first payment down to start a layaway for a Dollstown body! Lol...that's my logic anyway

 

Yes - but paying almost as much for a doll as I pay for rent is just a bit much if I look at my budget.

I saw something about them having a once a year period of a sale/pricereduction? Maybe I should wait?

I would really be happier if I could find a body around the 200 dollar pricerange though.

I just received my own mini Elysia, on a 7 year boy body (freshskin) yesterday and he is just amazing! And the body is really really worth it in my opinion. He holds his poses better than any other doll I own, without having to do any wiring or sueding whatsoever! And because of the shape of the back of his legs, a lot of poses are just so much more 'natural' than that of the other bodies. So if you can save up for a 7 yr old body somehow, that might be something worth considering too.

The mini Elysia head is somewhat smaller than some of the other DT MSD's, so a somewhat smaller body should work fine. I could take pictures of my boy on a Soom Little Gem body (Cream Skin, which might be a reasonable match for DT paleskin) and the Planetdoll 41 cm girl body for you tomorrow (Saturday) if that helps. The PD body will be too slim and the neck too narrow, but you might get an idea of what would be possible.

Also, I'd ordered an extra 7 yr old body, and at the moment my bodyless PD Emma is using that. Mini Elysia's head and Emma's are actually pretty much the same size, and the DT neck fits reasonably as well. So a PD 43 cm body might be a good option.

There is quite a big size difference between PD Emma's head and my PD Katie's though, that's why I don't think the 41 cm body would work as well.

 

I'm really struggling to buy more dolls now, I have 3 DT so far and would just like a 7yr Seola then I'll consider myself very lucky to have the dolls I have!

Yah I have been thinking about the 43PD body - maybe if they have an action with free heads again in juli (like the last two years) I'll do that. And then safe up for the autumn/winter to get the DT7.

I really just want too much I think.

Was there a sales action last year for dollstown like in 2009?

 

I managed to take some pictures earlier, but had to get some work done afterwards and am too tired to post them now. So I'll try to do that some time tomorrow (Sunday). But I can already tell you that the PD 43 cm body should be o.k.., as the 41 cm body isn't as bad as I thought it might be either.
And wow, that DT body is even better at posing than I thought. It's a lot easier to work with than Soom and PD one's. Love the feel of the resin as well, it's a bit more toothy, and actually feels a bit 'warmer' to the touch because of that too.

Don't know about any sales from Dollstown, but too bad you missed out on the final sale of the 7 & 5 yr old boy bodies around Feb/March, as you'd only have needed to do a tiny bit of modding to get your girl a body

Usually they are produced while you are paying off the layaway, but at present Dollshe are running so far behind, it's hard to say.

 

I didn't want to post anything in this thread, but I'm starting to loose patience. I'm still waiting for my 7yo boy body from the final sale. And I'm also waiting from the Dollshe November event. If only I knew Dollshe would use Dollstown casting service I hadn't bought the Seola boy ;___; My, what a bad luck

 

Carmen - it is the other way around. Dollshe is doing the casting for Dollstown. I think your dollstown body should arrive soon - I hear people are receiving theirs (like the Wolfboy who also ordered one of those final boy-bodies). I have no idea about Dollshe production.

Wolfboy - I am not convinced that the planetdoll 43cm body will work with the mini Elysia head - the extra length of the 43cm body seems to be in the legs and the head - not the body itself. Though with clothes on it might not seem too out of proportion. I think I will need to start saving up for a DT body. Maybe the 5-year old in december or something.

 

Oh yes, you are right. Whichever the case, Dollshe is really slow right now and they're slowing down everyone else by taking so much work while being short on staff. I really hope the boy gets here soon; I've finally asked on the board but I don't know if they'll answer me. I have everything prepared and waiting for him ;__;

edit: I finally received an answer:

"Hi, I'm so sorry for late shipping. I received recently 7yrs Boy paleskin body from Dollshe.
But it's skin color is many different with Seola paleskin head, and little yellow.
I had embarrassed about that, and I remand to reproduce again for the similler the skin color of Seola head as soon as possible.
I think it will be take 2~3 weeks. I'm so sorry for this problem. and Please wait more than."

 

No change for my order, I'd almost forgotten that I'd ordered the body. Hopefully within the next couple of weeks. Yeah, it sounds like Dollshe are having major problems at present. I guess there is nothing much that Dollstown can do about it.
