Dollstown Waiting Room ~2~

Wow I must be losing it I have been getting at least 2 of these dolls every year and yet never joined the Waiting room. I am on my 15 day of waiting for 3 dolls this round. I ordered a Mui with 15 yr boy body, a Hannah on the elf body and and Ganga on the 7 yr girl body. All in Oriental skin. All will be modded by my talented DIL, redmakio into elves and join my Io elf girl who will be wife to Mui boy and mother to the 2 girls. These three will bring my DT population to 6 here. I have already a Hue who has been with me almost 3 years and a Daisy boy who has been with me almost 2 years although not completed until last summer. I have had roughly 10 others who have moved on due to either not bonding or dire need of cash. Now I order smarter and DT is my top 3 I buy from only now.

I look forward to sharing news when the 3 finally do arrive.

 

I seem to swap my collection pretty regularly. I like to see what other companies have to offer. I don't know why I haven't gotten around to ordering more Dollstown. I've always liked their sculpts. I'm thinking I would like a 5 year girl, but am still thinking about which head. My favourites have always been Bandi and Lucille, but now I find that I really like Amy and Io Human. I haven't liked Torres sculpts enough to buy until now. I'm wondering if I should buy some heads, but figure that then I'll want the bodies to go with them. I will probably save up for a 13 girl and 15 boy body next and maybe order the heads with them. Now that I know Dollstown offer layaway, it does make it more tempting.

 

My kids are on their way! Just got the good news and I am thrilled. Pics as soon as the box arrives.

 

Welcome, Lirin! It was the same for me, the DT dolls got me into the hobby, but it took me a while and several dolls from other companies, before I actually ordered from them. For me, the excuse was the discontinuation of the 7 year old boy bodies.

Hi Lirin! I'm not sure about clothing for them, but there is now so many styles available for 'larger' girls, I wouldn't worry. The Dollmore have a lot of clothing that will stretch to fit EID girls. There's a thread in the larger dolls on clothing that will fit them. Dollmore is quite reasonably priced which is good.

 

Hi, I am waiting for a 15yr girl body. I bought a preloved Estella head already faced up, so I thought the 15yr body looked quite poseable so ordered that and I made my last payment on that today. I LOVE dollstown so much and never thought Id own one. I have no idea what size clothes to get her, on reading here tho I better look into the volks. I have a planetdoll and a preloved Miki Kaye Wiggs so I am off and running on my collection. I hope to one day own at least 5 dollstown dolls.

 

It's amazing how quickly they pile up. I did some counting tonight and I'm up to 37. Time to start thinning the herd. I am looking forward to completing Bandi. I see the 15 girl bodies have vanished from the website. I wonder when the 18 Bodies will go up for sale.

Well, previously I sold 3 of my Customhouse Ai and now I've just sold Chalco so I'm down to 36. I used to only have SDs but now that I'm collecting from YoSD up, it's getting out of hand. I'll probably get rid of a couple more, just seeing who I can part with. Not that it's helping that much. I've traded a feeple body for an EID body so I'll have 2 Akandos and those guys are bulky. I'd also like to get a Happydoll Dorothy now she's on a new body and there's a Volks girl I've been wanting for a while. Sigh. Wishlists are endless. Wow, I just updated my signature and profile and realised that I'd forgotten a couple.

I had a Doll friend call me this morning and she wanted to get a Dollstown Elf Seola and couldn't work out how to register on the website. I talked her through it and she placed the order, but was told she couldn't order until May so it looks as if Dollstown are on hold until Dollshe gets their pure event orders completed. I'm guessing they won't release the 18 body until after that happens.

 

I paid my second payment for my 13yr body for Seola on layaway......It's getting close to paid now! ....and I'm waiting for the 15yr body for Yeondu , so I might end up getting them shipped together Lol.
I was wondering about the 18yr bodies too....they look gorgeous and the high heeled feet ! I wish I had as many dolls as you Hobbysue , I'm rather envious but if I keep going like I am atm rescuing heads and buying bodies on Layaway I'll soon have a nice little collection.
I'm trying to find a couple of pretty dresses for my girls......anyone got any ideas where I can buy some?....ebay isn't proving very fruitful lately....god I wish I could sew!!

 

It is surprising how quickly they begin to multiply. I have a few of the smaller customhouse as well which add up quickly. I've bought heads and bodies separately but only within the same company (I'm hopeless at mixing and matching) and I've been fortunate to get some great bargains at times.

What type of dresses are you after. Have you tried the DoA marketplace? Perhaps search for your type of doll. Otherwise, Dollmore has a great range at reasonable/cheap prices and you can now order from a US distributor. I think it is Fabric Friends and Dolls. Dollmore has a rule that you can't display their stock on the webpages, but if you contact them, they can order anything from their site.

 

I didn't know Dollmore would fit DT girls, I want something like Val Zeitler style, with lots of different layers.....Anotherspace clothes are lovely but I want a bit more colour than just browns and muted shades.

 

My 2 new DT kids arrived on Thursday. I picked them up from PO and I did lots of wig and eye tests as well as tried on the new clothes I got the 2 girls from Dollmore. Some things fit, some sadly not. But here is couple of pics. They aren't great but until they get faced up this is all I will be taking.
The two girls with their mom, Isabeau who is an Io elf, on far left. In middle is the DT Ganga who's still not named, and then Hannah on elf body who is named Sophie. On Sophie's lap is Philip is the LTF Bisou who will be the King's minion.


This is my DT Mui, named Navarre. He will be Isabeau's hubby. Still working on a few things for his character. Faces up on all 3 soon as I have the funds.

Treehugger1961: Pink Grapefruit sews for Dollstown and she's got a frilly layered look. I'm not sure how much her fashions are link. I like the look of Anotherspace but don't buy for the same reasons.

 

Hi Hobbysue, thanks for the link......I've been looking at the website for ages, Lol....I love the photos and all the props used in them....I love all things shabby chic and vintage so this is right up my street!

 

I found another couple of people who are both fairly well known and reliable that offer frilly and colourful. Charie Wilson link . I don't know if she has any Dollstown, but she has some very pretty dresses and sews in a variety of styles. She may be able to make from measurements. There's also Michele Hardy link. Hers look as if they will stretch to fit a variety of sizes.

Yeah, but I realised after I'd posted that Pink Grapefruit doesn't appear to be selling much any more. It looks as if she's focusing on making her own dolls. She's got beautiful clothing though.

Nope, I'm paying my body off on Layaway. I'm waiting for funds firstly. I'll make my second payment either this week or next week then only one more.

 

Oh it's so frustrating waiting for my girls' bodies to be shipped I keep checking the order board to see if there's any news...I can't wait to see my dolls complete.

I meant to ask - did anyone check whether the dolls were in stock or getting made at Dollshe? Dollshe are apparently short-staffed at present so not sure if that is because they're working on outstanding Dollstown orders or simply down on staff. Dollstown aren't taking any more orders until May or June.

 

No I haven't had any shipping notices either I'm waiting for a 13yr body and a 15yr body......it's driving me nuts! Lol

 

Joys of layaway, I'm not even thinking about mine. I've still got 2 more payments to make so until they're done (next one will be made tomorrow) I won't be worrying about the body. I'm guessing that if they're not sending them out, they must be getting them from Dollshe.

 

Oh how exciting!.....my 13yr body has been shipped today!!......Seola will be a whole doll very soon!

I'm still waiting for my 5 yo boy and a 13 yo that were ordered at the time of the 5 and 7 yo boy sale. It said they should ship in April but no shipping notice yet. It is so hard to wait !

She's here!!!she arrived at 10.25 this morning.....that's the fastest delivery ever from Korea!I'm so happy with my Seola 13....I'll take some photos when I get some batteries for my camera just waiting for her wig arriving from tinyBear too

I'm waiting for mini-Elysia boy from the last preorder. I've paid him off on layaway last month, and I'm very excited now, as they promised to ship in April. Has anyone received their pre-order kids yet? Can't wait to get mine, they are so cute!

I know the waiting is hard - I ordered with the closeout of the boys bodies and am waiting. Hopefully sometime in the next week they'll be shipped.

I hope so. It was spring break week here and I had hoped that they would come but it has been cold and rainy so even if they had come I wouldn't have been able to do their faces. I also am waiting on a storage cabinet for them to come. Oh well - everyone (all the dolls) is waiting on a new home.

I'm also waiting for mini-elysia boy, but no news yet. I asked them a couple days ago how my order was doing, but they never answered. I know they promised to ship in April, I hope they manage to do it in the next few days.

 

I too am still waiting on my ganga boy. I hope there is some communication soon.

 

I'm ok with delay but it will be good if they give us some news.

 

Sigh. I've been back in the waiting room for a while. I got my Elysia in February, but she had a chip in her body and I finally decided to send that piece back and get a new one; the split was getting worse, and they promised me a new part. I was hoping to have her all back together by my birthday (tomorrow!) but it's not going to happen.

I am a little sad; I was so excited to get her, and then I barely had her before I wound up taking her apart and sending a piece of her away! And now all these delays. I have no idea when I'll have her back together again. It's taken the joy out of it a bit, but hopefully when she's back together I'll be just as excited again.

 

Oh that's such a shame OolooKitty .....hope you won't have to wait much longer...it's really hard waiting a long time, I don't know how people do it for longer than 2 or 3 months!

 

I asked about shipping for the February boy dolls and got a reply that the issue is with Dollshe taking longer than usual to cast the dolls. He said the wait would be longer but not how long. Oh well - It's been 2 months so far. My first girls came in 3 weeks so once Dollshe gets going I expect that they will come quickly.

 

I had two orders with Dollshe which I ordered back in December. I ended up swapping one body to the old style and they said they would ship in 3 weeks. 8 weeks later, I was still waiting for the order. When I pm'd them, they replied that they were 'short-staffed' and it was causing delays. They said they were making 2-3 dolls per day and would send out the order as quickly as possible. Quite frankly, I cancelled my pure body order and only kept the old body order because it was due to ship first. I've received it and it is perfect, but still glad I'm not waiting for the pure body. Dollshe don't appear to be picking up speed at all. I'm hoping that they will treat the Dollstown orders as separate from the Dollshe because those are so far behind, it will take them months to send out the remainder. I'm really hoping that it isn't going to take that long to ship my order. I haven't paid off my Dollstown layaway for that reason. I don't think the dolls will ship quickly.

 

I'm almost wishing I'd just kept the cracked part and done an exchange later... I had no idea they were having these delays, and I was told "Ship the part back and we will ship you another in 3 weeks." Not very happy with my doll who's in pieces in her box under my bed... sigh.

Oh, well, she will be beautiful again once her pelvis comes back! Heh.
