Dollshe Waiting Room 12

Mar 12, 2020

    1. Did someone else get a message from BJDivas saying "Your BJDivas order has been received! " I think it was sent by mistake but I got excited and thought they had my dolls :XD: I sent them an email about it just to clarify cuz it seemed strange to me since I haven't placed any orders recently

    2. *siiiiigh * I've been waiting for one of those messages over three different companies from them.

      • x 2
    3. I'm not sure if you meant the one I got but they confirmed it was sent by mistake hehehe Aaaaah, I really hope I get my dolls soon :atremblin

    4. I have only just ordered Philippe in fashion size, made my peace with 6 months of estimated doll delivery time and was hoping this waiting room would cheer me up. I realise now that I was way too naive to believe this promise of half a year... And to think that it could be two years! It's not the time I am upset about now, it's the complete uncertainty :(

    5. I'm not going to sugar coat it. You're right. Waiting that long for any item is a long wait. People get Teslas quicker than that. As you've seen from the thread, you're not alone.

Because of the low prices I ordered four dolls. Three are paid, one has layaway payments remaining. Will I be in love with the sculpts when they finally arrive? If they finally arrive? I don't know.

What I do know is when I look back at my life I can't believe quickly time has passed. My friends have kids in college. We were in college together not too long ago!

Philippe is gorgeous. I haven't seen the fashion size in person for any of the Dollshe sculpts but the Youtube videos that are out there really show off the excellent engineering.

    6. It’ll be two years in July. I actually keep forgetting that I have dollshe orders from 2018. Ordered like three dolls and a head over a few months, not a word on any. 100% would only ever buy second hand at this point for dollshe.

      • x 6
    7. I’ve been out of the hobby for a while and had to sell all my previous dolls, including my Dollshe eyes. Is he still making eyes? I never see them available and they’re not even available second hand.

    8. When I ordered my fashion size Diana I ordered her from BJDivas. They're excellent about communicating but could only let me know what Dollshe told them. Which wasn't much. I never thought I'd have to wait two years! Like @celis814 mentioned, I wondered if I'd still even be in love with Diana once she got here as the long wait was very annoying. And poor little thing, when she finally got here I felt kind of miffed at her. But that went away and now I love her.

    9. Thank you, kind words always help :) It would be a consolation indeed under normal circumstances. Unfortunately being a control freak I tend to plan a lot and Phillippe was suppose to be a photo partner for another doll I have pre-ordered which will definitely be ready and sent to me in 6 months (an average waiting time for this doll maker). Will have to re-think all my photo-projects now :(

Chewiemonster, I have more or less decided that I wouldn't commit to ordering directly from them anymore, just can't see myself having all doll's photography ideas in my head and leaving them to simmer for two year.

Jay , the funny thing is - I was impressed with customer support when I placed my order and made a mistake of doing it without registering on the site first. We had three days of regular e-mails exchange, I was sent screen grabs, additional info what to do so that I could see the progress of my order under my personal account on Dollshe web, etc. Whoever was dealing with me was very patient and efficient. I even got a refund of $3.12 for paying original order without membership discount, which I did say I was happy to forget about as they spent so much additional time sorting our my order. Reading now all these stories about lack of communication and sever delays is quite a shock after my original rather positive experience with the company :(

    10. Waiting on a classic grant philippe but it's been a year and not even a peep. About to finish another doll next month makes me wonder if I'll ever see them. Dollshe has terrible waiting times by default and I'm afraid that with this pandemic he has found a concrete reason to slow it down even more.:vein

    11. I know that feeling all too well. I waited for 18 months to receive my Rey Lewis and Ausley Love. But once I received them, it did not matter anymore. They were my first dollshe dolls so maybe that was different for me.

    12. A year later and I finally can afford to pay off my Bernard. He’s been my grail since I started this hobby. Some ten odd years ago. Can’t wait to get that shipping notice!

    13. Right?! Enthusiasm kinda wanes after awhile would've understood if I ordered fashion sized ones but these are dolls that have had several molds done already. I wish he'd really stop with the "final" "discontinuation" "sale" events of his. Pretty sad because my first doll was from dollshe and it didn't use to be this bad.

    14. My order of a fashion size Grant Philippe is also plagued by a long wait time. June 27th it turns one year old! :sweat:sigh
I've been looking at the wait list on here and a lot of people who ordered this month last year got their dolls so maaaaaaaaybe thus summer? Maybe? Please? Yes? please? :eusa_pray

    15. I'm just tired of the wait now! Since March of last year! The hilarity is that I wanted to just take his body for another doll and picked Saint because I figured he was popular enough to sell off cheaply. Now I have decided I love him and I hope he's staying forever when he arrives. I have no right to complain; others have been waiting much longer, but ugh.

Still trying to not even think of my Khan I ordered in December, but I'd get a kick out of him arriving first. I'll just continue making grabby hands in the direction of Korea haha.

    16. I was super excited to order a Rey Lewis as my very first BJD, and now, 14 months later with no real update, I'm thinking I should have done a little more research into Dollshe first haha. I'm still excited to eventually get him, but at this rate dolls I've ordered well after him are going to get here long before he does. I'm just sitting here, looking longingly at my order status...

    17. PennyForTheGuy , Thymeseer , Heathazehero , so, let me get it straight - you haven't seen any updates on your order on your page on Dollshe web site since you placed the order? At which point people do start contacting Dollshe and enquiring about the progress? It does say production takes 6 months, surely it would be reasonable to at least get in touch with buyer at this stage if the order is still nowhere to be seen?!

      • x 3
    18. I don't know about the others but I ordered my boy off BJDivas. Back when I made the order they told me there was a year work up period on this doll. So I've been just putting the order to the back of my mind. I was aware of Dollshe's re-donk-culus wait times before then on seeing some box opening posts were people said they had to wait two years.
And this lag seems to be endemic to the msd sized dolls especially.

      • x 2
    19. I must have been lucky last year when I ordered an Ausley as she came in just over 2 months, got a Diana on order now since January so don't think that will happen again.

      • x 2
    20. @PhotoArtitude I also ordered through bjddivas and while I've poked them, they've asked dollshe and have just been told my order isn't ready yet. I last poked in early March around my 1 year mark, and there was no update. I might get the order number from bjddivas and then go ask dollshe directly, but I wanted to let them settle a bit since they just moved to a new location. I always feel guilty about asking but I want my dolls!

    21. Thank you guys, it does put things into perspective for me...

    22. I'm thinking of just getting the number from BjDivas to email Dollshe, I even forget I'm still waiting on a doll.

    23. I ordered through bjdivas as well. After the year mark passed a couple months ago I messaged them, but they weren't able to tell me anything either. At the very least I know this is normal for Dollshe, though, so at least I'm not worried that my order got lost or something.

      • x 2
    24. So yeah, about the whole layaway waiting time, I really don’t think they start the order until it’s paid off. I just got this email from Dollshe

In the case of order ####, delivery will be ready approximately 5 months after the partial payment ends. Payment is completed on May 2020, and the expected delivery date is from September to October.

Which I think is to say... “yeah we ain’t even thought about it yet”. So... it’s a 2 year wait for me, y’all.

      • x 3
    25. AnimePudding I was dealing with Dollshe directly and when I got my order along with full payment confirmed I enquired about production time. The response was very clear - "The estimated waiting time for the dolls to be delivered takes about 6 months." It really drives me mad now reading all these stories that their usual practice is at least twice that time. It was supposed to be my first male doll and I probably would have went for it even if I knew the waiting time was two years. Still can't understand this practice from buiseness point of view.

Oh, well, enough of depressing thoughts, I think I need to adopt the attitude koko_mille mentioned and forget about it completely. Hopefully in two years time it would be such an amazing surprise! :)

At least my BJD wolf arrived within three weeks after placing an order, and it was made from a scratch!

    26. I previously asked Dollshe about my order. BTW, I ordered my doll last February this year and they told me within 6 months. However, due to the pandemic, I emailed them again for any update. I understand if gets delayed... this is what they replied to me

we'll see if this is true...

      • x 1
    27. Welp. Did it again. *_* Put in an order for Diana since she went back on deep discount. That said, I'm *fine* with a long delay since I'm moving at some date in the near future, so as far as I'm concerned, Mr. Dollshe can take his sweet time.

    28. Hi guys, I have ordered 2 fashion dolls (Diana and Amanda) on 9th of May this year. I was aware that it might take longer than promised, but reading the comments that some waited for over 2 years for their order makes me panic
      The waiting has begun ...

      • x 5
    29. I was in the same state of mind just a week or so ago :-) One advice in this thread helped - put your order at the back of your mind and focus on other dolls in your collection or those arriving sooner with confirmed date. Dollshe's Phillippe was suppose to be my first male doll, now it looks like I will have at least two others by this Autumn, so, I made my peace with possible two years of waiting.

      • x 2
    30. My Amanda has now been on packing for a week or so, six months after ordering, so that is after all a progress!

      • x 8
    31. I got fed up and sent a disappointed email to Dollshe again today. Between them saying in February that it would only be 2-3 weeks and then seeing the same sculpt go out before mine I'm so done. I want a Grant to go with my Rey and David, but when would I get him at this point? 2022?? I haven't even seen one of them in person yet. No other company has 15-24 month wait periods and has the gall to say 30-60 days on their website. *very upset and frustrated*

      • x 5
    32. We feel your pain! I bought my dolls in May and July last year. Then I got a secondhand Arsene. Then the resin changed color. Me with 12 heads to match the old oriental color! I would NEVER get a new Dollshe doll again and pray for more secondhand ones in the old oriental in my future.

      • x 4
    33. Yeek, does anyone know if the pure pale tan color changed?

      • x 1
    34. I hope not. I ordered an Angela and Owen in Pale Tan.

    35. I was thinking of buying a Diana since I've liked her the first time I saw her half a year ago, but I'm so discouraged now... Neither do I want to wait for two years nor am I sure if I want to spend that much money already (I'm just about to receive my second doll).
Do you know whether it's a onetime chance to get a Diana this cheap or does it happen more often?

      • x 1
    36. she’s been at this price since something like December. The sale then temporarily wears off for anywhere between a few days to a few weeks at the end of each countdown.
There’s no telling when the sales will stop, but so far they have been consistent.

      • x 2
    37. I don't think the sales will end soon but they're really unpredictable, if you can find a way to forget all about the doll for two or three years you should get her, i don't think you can find a better price for these dolls, it's not like she's always available in the marketplace either :atremblin

      • x 4
    38. I got a reply from Dollshe. They said my Rey is in production (though my account still only says processing) and for my David they needed to change the resin "due to material supply and demand" so I guess Honey is causing them issues? I picked a normal resin and they said they'd refund me the difference and he should be ready within a month too.

As much as I love the look of Honey skin I guess it might be weird in the fashion maxi scale? Plus now I guess they'll match closer in pictures together.

I still kind of feel like "I'll believe it when I see it" but it gives me hope they actually do want to try for their customers. Just such a weird way to do business...

    39. Just passed the one year mark waiting for my Grant Phillippe. Trying to resist the urge to bother BJDivas for an update or an order number so I can go bother Dollshe directly for both of my outstanding orders.

I knew the waits for both my Dollshe dolls were going to be a test of endurance but I'm really starting to get some buyers remorse. Its so hard to put them out of my mind when I look at their companion dolls every day. :XD: At this rate I may just have to pack up the whole SD crew to stop myself from going crazy.

      • x 7
    40. @Heathazehero I did exactly the same thing. Eventually I could not stand the wait anymore - ended up ordering a couple of Doll Chateaus who then became my ’first’ dolls!

In my case my order was ready within a month of receiving the notice tha t my doll was in production. Hope you get him soon!

    41. I just got my shipping notice for my Amanda yesterday! I got her directly through Dollshe on layaway and final payment was made in Feb 2020, so she's actually shipped a lot faster than my two boys who took 8 months from final payment :o Now it's the month-long wait for her to get here...

    42. Awesome!!! That was super fast! Gives me hope hahaha

    43. Ooooh I hope that means they're getting all the Pure Pale Amandas from Nov and Dec shipped out now. . . I ordered mine at the end of December, sooo maybe she'll get to BJDivas soonish? Hoping so anyway!

      • x 5
    44. OMG, I ordered Pure Pale Amanda at the very end of December or beginning of January. I'll be so ecstatic if I lucked out and only had to wait 6 or 7 months. :o:dance But is size a factor? I ordered Classic Maxi. What size did you order @kagami?

      • x 1
    45. According to the wait list (it's linked on the first page since it's not a tab on this version of the room) both of the Pure Pale Amanda full packages that have been listed as shipped were classic maxi. . which is what I ordered as well. Here's hoping!

    46. I'm so excited. Maybe we'll all get our Amandas soon. I hope the fact that I just added the two other bust sizes to my order last month doesn't slow it down. :eusa_pray I think I remember seeing something about Dollshe not sending anything at all to BJDivas until they have 100 completed items. @TatterPunk, the text on the waiting list is sort of swimming in front of my eyes; I'm not finding the orders that you're talking about. Did you see if they were through BJDivas?

      • x 1
    47. It doesn't say on the other one if it was or not, but I am guessing that they probably both were through Dollshe directly. I guess it maaay be a bit longer if they wait for 100 items. I don't really know how these things work. I still need to get eyes and things for my girls. . . so it might be better if there's a little more time? Still, I really want my dolls!

    48. True. I only just sent my first doll out to get a faceup, so I really should be focused on her. Buuuut... she was my second choice to another more expensive doll, and I wanted Amanda more than either of them.

    49. Yes, mine is a 65cm pure pale too. We don't really have a reasonable dealer in Europe, so she was ordered directly through Dollshe. Seems like things are getting a bit better at Incheon. I had a Raccoon, which has been waiting for 8 days at the airport for a flight and an Iplehouse with an 11 days wait there. Amanda should take her flight tomorrow.:XD:

      • x 1
    50. Thanks! Did the status on your order on DollShe's site ever change? Mine still hasn't changed from "Processing" ...They did say he'd be ready in a few weeks tho and so should my David. :eusa_pray

      • x 1
    51. @Darkwingchick it will change from 'processing' to 'packing', then to 'shipping' and the last status is 'completed'.

      • x 1
    52. Hmm.. this makes me curious. As a European ordering through BJDivas I know Dollshe will be sending the package directly to me rather than having it make a full trip around the world by pitstopping in the states. So that makes me wonder... if one of my orders were done, would they still count among the 100 for BJDivas or would it sort of count as its own order and be sent out when done... *rambles*

      • x 1
    53. @Bortbyting I'm not sure. I might be totally wrong about the 100 item thing anyway, I just seem to recall someone posting about it on the BJD Addicts Facebook page.

    54. It wouldn't be too strange if they bulkshipped to a reseller. Probably safer and might save on shipping. I'll let you know when my darling impulsebuys ever get off their butts and starts heading home. ;)

    55. So I politely poked bjdivas and asked if I could have the order numbers for dollshe that correspond with my orders with them. I got an extremely polite and pleasant email back where they explained that they couldn't do that. Apparently some people have abused this in the past. It's a shame, but I understand.

Though they did say they'd reach out to dollshe on my behalf about my orders, so that's nice! I'm just hoping for good news, or at least a call to action haha. It's my 15 month wait I'm more worried about than the 6 month for the other order to be honest.

      • x 2
    56. you've got my hopes up now haha...I was planning on 2 year wait...

      • x 1
    57. I was about to post about getting this same message. It's too bad, but I'm glad that they're willing to reach out for the people curious about their orders at least. I've also been waiting for about 15 months now, I'm holding out hope that maybe I won't have to wait 2 years haha. Here's to hopefully hearing good news for us!

    58. Forgive my ignorance, I am newbie when it comes to ordering from companies, always dealt with artists directly. My current order from Dollshe is the first time I went for a doll made by a company. Can I ask what's the advantage ordering from third party like bjdivas instead of directly from Dollshe?
