according to his blog post in January with the same images, they are all indeed paid orders. If you pay an additional shipping fee, the in-stock BJD will be delivered. - DollShe craft
Two fullset dolls. For full prices, 'cause I really wanted them and was ready to buy them like this. It was 3 years ago!!! Over all these years of waiting, he only responded a couple of times last year, citing delays due to COVID, then stopped responding altogether. When asked if I would at least receive either the money or the doll, he filed a complaint to PayPal against me, claiming I was demanding money for the received order. PayPal closed 7!!!! problematic transactions in his favor, even before all these issues. The order status remains unchanged, 'in production.' I'm deeply hurt to lose about $2.5 thousand just because, in the end of hia career, he decided to deceive everyone he could with impunity. For me, it was quite a significant amount, and now it's hard even to look at my collection of his dolls, bought second-hand." I genuinely sympathize with everyone who has been affected by him, and I can't believe that there seems to be no way to influence this situation.
When he filed the claim against you, did you have a chance to give PayPal your side of the story and send a screenshot showing your order status from his website? I had no idea PayPal had such policy in place for seller complaints or how that works, but it seems that one thing they would look at is how many claims he has against his account and the fact that it is frozen before putting a ding against your account, as well as asking you if what he says is true.
All of this is so 'Twilight Zone'.....I'm seriously wondering: did he pass away & someone take over his identity??? Not to make exuses for him but I worked with him one on one back in 2017/18 via email because I wanted extra parts for my Natalie Portman in clear resin. I sent him a diagram of which parts I needed and the character I was creating....and he was really nice and interested in what I was doing. I got the clear parts requested within a month or so. I was so thankful for that. These parts weren't on the site, I just found out he had the capability of casting clear resin and he was super cool about it. Now this?? I'm still tripping out...and I'm still waiting for an Arsene I ordered back in 2019 I figure will never come now. What happened with him, he used to be on the up and up...a bit late at times, but not like this!?!??
On May 11th, I received the same email @light_hearted and @makale referenced, though only after sending a query weeks prior wherein I did not mention my order was through BJDivas. I haven't responded; not sure what to say. Even if were gullible enough to fall for his 'proposal', (PSA: don't.) I do not have the money to do so. To have someone hold an item hostage when I paid it off so long ago is incredibly cruel. This whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.
I also had direct dealings with him in 2019 and there were no problems. I received the doll I'd ordered 11 months after ordering him (a little longer, but still within range for bjd). However my other order from 2019 - no such luck. I've recently been emailing with him, but he's unable to locate my orders and furthermore, wants more bjd to be purchased in order to ship 'the back-order bjd' which I will not be doing. I don't have the money for that, but I wouldn't even if I did.
Every time it seems we've hit the bottom of the hole, he gets out a shovel and keeps digging. The fact that people can identify their orders from these stock photos... Realized I never did update here about the Rey Lewis I bought in 2019. I didn't receive him until 2021. In retrospect, it was probably among the last orders Mr. Kim filled without incident- BJDivas actually offered me a refund by email, but I had no reason to believe the order wouldn't be fulfilled yet, so I held out. At the time, BJDivas let me know that Mr. Kim was concerned about shipping costs, and asked whether I would accept a disassembled doll to save on shipping. I said 'yes'. When he arrived there was no CoA, not enough of the silicone stoppers to fill all of his slots, and he was unceremoniously packed in plastic bags and stuffed in a tiny cardboard box with some too-thin elastic. Thank goodness he has his plaque and I have my order page! BJDivas tried to do him service by padding the shipper around the box well, but to say he was a letdown after all of that is... an understatement. Especially when I strung him up, clueless, and he immediately collapsed under his own weight. Thankfully a kind soul informed me about the elastic, and after all this time, I finally worked up the energy to restring him once again, and he can actually pose now. I haven't decided whether or not to keep him. Missing CoA that I'll never receive and lacking stoppers aside, he's a masterful work of art. But it's not like I wasn't getting along fine without him, and frankly every time I look at him, I think about all of the folks still waiting, and the other sculpts and colours I might have ordered instead. I would have happily bought at least three or four more dolls from him, had he continued honest practices. Many of us feel the same. It is absolutely baffling that he chose to end his legitimate career like this after so many years of being a leading figure in BJD. He had everything going for him. The responsibility for this mess lies on him and him alone.
I was able to get a Grant Phillipe head second hand but over on IG someone managed to get a comment in asking about a back order and he claimed that he'll respond to emails within a couple days. He's never responded to any of my past emails but maybe this time it'll work. I'm not holding my breath and it's probably not going to be exactly what I ordered (downgrading the resin color and body type) but if I finally get it then it's just a bonus. I've given up on it and finished the grieving process lol
Yeah, smart not to hold your breath. His responses are nothing but dribble anyway, so you aren't missing much. If he does respond, it will be this message or one almost identical: "Hello, I'm Sculptor DK. I apologize for the delayed response via email. Recently, the entire CS team has resigned, leaving me solely responsible for all tasks. Due to the lack of time to smoothly transition all responsibilities, I haven't been able to reply to all emails promptly. I'm sorry for the backlog; I will aim to respond directly to emails 1-2 times a day. Some of the departed employees occasionally assist me as part-time workers on weekends. There are customers who are willing to purchase additional stock BJDs under the condition of shipping them together with delayed BJDs. Ordering one in-stock BJD creates funds for duplicating two BJDs and covering shipping costs. Currently, even if customers agree to pay additional shipping fees, I don't have staff to handle the shipping. I promised to refund the additional shipping fees later. However, after paying the shipping fees, there is no profit left to pay the staff. For a while, we have been sending many BJDs to customers with additional shipping fees. It takes a long time to find and pack the in-stock BJDs for shipping. Now, as I have to handle everything alone, even if customers agree to bear additional shipping fees, there are no staff available to send the BJDs. As previously announced, due to operational difficulties, all employees have resigned, resulting in the temporary suspension of operations at DollShe Craft Casting Center. DollShe Craft is facing financial difficulties and cannot afford the casting and shipping costs of delayed BJDs. Finding a way to immediately casting and ship the backlog of BJDs has been challenging. Currently, there is only one method available to ship the delayed BJDs. I sincerely apologize for the inability to ship the delayed BJDs promptly. Recently, a customer inquired about whether purchasing one additional BJD would allow them to receive one delayed BJD alongside. By ordering one additional BJD, funds are generated to casting two BJDs. Therefore, by ordering one additional BJD, we can pack and ship one delayed BJD together. Casting will be outsourced to another workshop. I can only handle original production and sample casting. Similarly, due to DollShe Craft's minimal profitability, I often need to engage in other work. If you order one BJD, we can ship it together with the delayed BJDs within 2-3 weeks. We will send the silicone mold to another workshop for casting. Providing the silicone mold to other workshops is a task I can handle alone. I sincerely apologize for the current inability to ship the delayed BJDs. Sincerely yours, Sculptor DK" That's from April this year. I don't know why he doesn't just go through his earliest orders and start filling them as he has money from his other business (as he claims) to ship back orders. Everything is just in parts strewn about his studio from looking at the pictures he has posted. Time consuming, yes, but he has an obligation to people who have paid. I don't know how he thinks buying another doll from him after paying for one and not getting it after years is something people would even consider. Not gonna be Charlie Brown trying to kick that football. And what kind of math is he working to where he can't ship one doll, but can ship two after having to pay an outsourcing company to make the new one? That's not jiving with me. If they charge so much less than the cost of his own staff what is the difference in quality? It can't possibly be the same. Anyway, I hope we all eventually get our orders, but as we all know, it isn't looking highly likely.
I got two of my dolls 22 mars. After 3 years of waiting and an extra shipping cost. I'm happy. Now I have 4 Dollshes. One left now. Leo.
Yes, I following hes Insta, and belive it is too. I liked hes picture of Leo, and he liked some of my pictures too. Good sign.
because up until now the sculpt didn't exist in physical form, and now it does. Which also means he's still working a bit on BJDs. I've also been waiting a long time. I've mostly just given up on receiving my order, but I still want Dollshe to finish deliverying everyone's orders. idk I'd rather be a bit positive (but mostly I just try to forget about it) than angry all the time.
Yeah, I am not one of the people that want to sue him and make him lay down hes company, because I hate him. We never get any dolls then. I'm waiting for him to feel good, and start makin hes dolls again. It can take time, but I knew it when I did ordered 3 years ago. I just hope Im' not dead before I get Leo, because I'm old and ill.
No, people got their Leo's before then. It did exist in physical form. I thought the same thing but I was proven wrong too. Yeah, I'm not willing to buy another doll so he will ship the one he owes me. He's kinda repeated that's the only way he's going to ship old orders.
I remember the Leos got sent out months after the pre order so I was like oh good mine might be finished first (I ordered 3 dolls diff models) so I had the idea that I would get mine within the year or so. Ordered them April 2021. Still nothing. Edit: Last I heard from him (email) all my dolls have been packed and ready to be shipped out, just waiting for that additional shipping fee, but I'm not rich and I live off of my commissions (which isn't a lot) so I still haven't got the meant to send the something or so dollars he's asking.
If you check Dollshe's posts on his website, he has an """in stock""" sale list posted early September, over 100 dolls. And of course the one I've been waiting for since December 2019 is there. I knew he would be, I've seen him in the previously posted images, but it still hurts.
WOW he just posted an update that sounded like he was selling everything. What does he want for the shipping fees?
I don't know if I believe that "in stock" thing. I ordered an "in stock" Diana and it took over two years to get her!
I am about a week away from my 2 year anniversary of my order for a Diana, which I saw in pictures he had on the website of all the dolls hanging out that he didn't have money to ship. Then not too long ago he did his "in-stock" (read as already-paid-for-and-belongs-to-someone-else-but-Imma-double-sell-it-cuz-I-don't-have-the-money-they-already-paid-me-for-shipping) sale and my exact doll package had been listed and marked "sold". So now he better just give me my money back because I know I'm not getting mine.
I really hope you get your money back. I was also quite incensed that after my two year wait for my "in stock" Diana he had the nerve to ask for additional shipping. Well whose fault was that because shipping had gone up? I had him send Diana unassembled in a smaller box and did not pay additional shipping.
My Diana, I ordered through BJDivas, is now beyond the four-year mark. It's hard to imagine that he considered having any "in stock dolls" at all while so many unfulfilled orders are in the hopper.
I have been waiting for Aramis, that I ordered through BJDivas, for over five years. I'm surprised that anyone has received their doll. I figure the guy got tired of fulfilling orders, but not of the money coming in.
I've long since given up on ever seeing my Diana that was never even made. Thanks for reminding me that it's now been over five years, though.
I think Divas is close to taking him in to court, so for those of you who ordered through them, keep up hope to at least get your money back if your doll was resold. Direct buyers couldn't be added to that case, but maybe he will decide to do the right thing knowing direct buyers could still band together for a class action law suit, I think it was called, against him. (Pricey and will require a good amount of work to organize, but knowing it will cost him legal fees again and he is bound to lose, he might just opt to refund everyone's money.)
I just saw my exact order that I placed through BJDivas for sale as “In Stock” on the website. I’m utterly heartbroken over it. I just wanted my doll, I was willing to wait however long that took. But to see that it was ready and that he put it up for sale after I already paid and waited 5 years is devastating.
Have you emailed them about it? I had the same thing happen with one of mine before and they fixed it promptly.
Because his PayPal got suspended or something for some reason and could not access the money in it, he's asking me for postage AGAIN to send the dolls to me, but when I asked if it really was ready for shipping he then said no there's no way for the dolls to be shipped.
He thinks his customers are just a handy ATM. "Just give me monies, plz. No questions asked. K'THXBYE"
Yes! I haven't given him a cent though. That was our hard earned money I can't believe he still sleeps at night knowing he owes us all hundreds of thousands of dollars
Starting order Dec 15 2024, DollShe craft very fast to reply to me, and agreement sent the doll by Fri 20th 2024, i got the tracking numbers , my doll on the way , USPS EMS tracking location from USA now.
Was it an "in stock" doll? Because it looks like he's trying to double-sell dolls that other people paid for years ago.
yes, I am waiting only a week i do not know this situation the dollshe issus, i just to order last week, and fast to sent it i am payed Additional 10% Bank Transfer Discount: $574 EMS Shipping Fee: $77.09
That’s…. Very likely someone else’s doll that’s being double-sold to you. Dollshe is actively selling dolls cast for orders 3 years old and because of that, any dolls bought after… I can’t remember when, I think sometime last year are banned. I definitely don’t think it’s te most sensitive to other people he’s scammed to come in here and tell them that you’re getting the doll they ordered before they are?
I have long time no login doa, i just to know dollshe issus from here, so this is waiting room only share my thought about dollshe company. i do not reply any answer about dollshe to all
Here is information on the ban on Dollshe and related companies, as well as dolls ordered from Dollshe after November 8, 2023. The info has gotten a bit buried in the thread. /threads/dol...d-companies-banned-from-den-of-angels.874873/
@annart any Dollshe dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, the date in the notice, are banned from this forum and may not be posted or discussed here. /posts/13145777/
Yes, I got my 3 years old orders of doll fast too, when I payed the extra shipping. Had to mejl him about it. Only one is not molded yet.
I got news. Emailed them last night and told them I now have money to ship my dolls and he immediately assumed that I will be adding a doll to my order and I was like: ??? No, I need the dolls I fully paid for from 3 years ago, please. Last time they were so enthusiastic about shipping my dolls within a week once I send the money, then they said they can't ship it cause all his staff resigned, and now once the mention of money comes up he tries advertising. No, I do not wish to order any more from your company, sir. I just want my dolls, please and thank you. I sent an email back saying I don't want a additional doll. I want the dolls I ordered. Here's to hoping he responds this time.
A friend of mine is at 3 years for the 26f her husband ordered her for Christmas several years ago. She’s currently listed on dollshe’s stock sale page, because my friend refused to buy another doll around 6 months ago. I’m the one emailing (from her email) becuase Her draft email to him mentioned the Ferrari, the soap company, the athletics wear company, the pending lawsuit with Divas, the DoA ban, and not all of the language in it could appear on an all ages forum, once she decided she was having me write the final email, and treated the draft as more of a venting exercise. Immensely cathartic to read, if we’re being real. Woukd solidly not get her the doll back. I’m framing my email as “hi, I’m so sorry to bother you, but I believe there’s been a mistake, where my order has accidentally ended up in the stock sale. I know you’d never do that deliberately, so I assume there’s been a miscommunication between your ordering team and your fulfillment team, with all those new people that are joining the team. Can you please rectify this, and let me know how much shipping her finally home will be? I’m so excited to get to see my girl in person—she looks so beautiful in all the pictures!” Diplomacy stinks. I feel deeply dishonest after sucking up that hard, and pretending it’s an honest mistake. We shall see if it’s enough to get my friend her doll. If it works, I’ll volunteer to draft emails for anyone who needs help getting their doll that’s been listed to be double-sold in the stock sale page, to get dollshe to correct definitely not on purpose inventory mistakes. We’re having her shipped to me so I can dye her for my friend, as I promised to do, three years ago.
I've been beyond polite as well. perhaps in my case, it is since the one order wasn't direct and the landscape has since changed. I received several orders placed after Aramis and before Diana, or I wouldn't have done the Diana order. I wish everyone luck.
That really sucks. I’m not expecting much, based on the email, but people pleasing is a skill set I can try leveraging. I kind of assumed if being way too nice worked, someone else would’ve done it by now, and reported back, unfortunately.
I tried being overly nice for about the first year. Then I couldn't bring myself to it any more, regardless of polite Korean communication etiquette. Doesn't matter anyway. My doll was one in the stock sale that was double sold.
I'm so sorry, omg. I don't even check anymore because it's so upsetting to see our dolls get sold again. He should give the money back then and refund us but he won't do anything.
I checked the in stock sale against my better judgement, and I just pretty much saw that all the dolls in my order are listed as well. I would not be surprised that those are mine too.
If you mention something about money and sending him money or ordering a new doll, he will respond to you right away. Literally within 24/48 hours. When I expressed my firm decision to not order any dolls from him anymore and just aimed to get my order, he has so far ignored me.
Well I got an email from him—I guess because I mentioned sending him money for shipping. He’s trying to sell me dolls from the stock sale, and trying to sell me dolls with a $1 deposit that I don’t pay for until theyre made, and of course he has no access to PayPal, so he’s asking for EFT. That’s all been established by other people. I won’t send my exact response in case he sees this chat, but I have essentially told him that I would absolutely love to buy more dollshe dolls (and I would, just only secondhand) but I would be unwilling to do so until I get this doll in—because I need to see what the resin colour looks like in person, so I can know what colour I’d like future dolls in. I will not be buying any dolls from dollshe. The only way I send him money is for shipping. But I’m hoping if I imply he’ll get future sales from shipping her, I can get my friend’s 26f in the mail. I don’t think this is wrong of anyone to do, because in general if his reputation improves, he WILL see (off-DoA) increases in sales, and the best way to improve his reputation is to make right the wrongs he’s done, one customer at a time. I also don’t feel bad, because I’m being misleading, but he’s outright lied to my friend repeatedly about her doll, and he has her money.
