Dollshe Discussion - Part Sixteen

Mar 1, 2020

    1. I've decided that Zeke is the personification of my residual teenage angst, growing up in the 60's and all the changes that have happened since. Freedom to be emo, lol.

    2. OMG, I really love what you done with Zeke. His coloring and dark shading around the eyes is amazing and the reflections in his eyes...... I do love this photo.

    3. Thank you @oriscany. I made those eyes, they are sort of a mess but when I tried them with Zeke on a whim, they fit Zeke so well it'd almost like it was meant to be.

    4. Hi, I do not have the Khan body (yet) - so I am not sure if this would work. You can see the explanation in my previous mails. The pictures are somewhere in the earlier threads too. But the idea behind it is that elastic wants to take the shortest route, it wants to be straight and as short as possible. So what is in the way? Where is it pushing or pulling? What might need to change inside the body to let the elastic run where and how you want it to go?

Scargeear on deviant art has an awesome tutorial on how she mods several bodies to be better posers.

    5. Y'all I need help, I'm putting a Dollshe Arsene fresh skin on layaway! I just bought Diana. I need help.

    6. All I can say is good luck! I love the dolls but hate the wait.

    7. I currently have six dolls on layaway! I just had to take advantage of the price and now I’m just treating them like they don’t exist and when they get here they get here :sweat

    8. Yeah, when these sales started, I was already waiting on two dolls for 18 months.
I was NOT planning on jumping into that boat again! I held out until a month ago before I just had to order 3 more! In the boat again!

    9. Which dolls are you waiting on? And wishing you some reasonably speedy arrivals!

    10. Did anyone notice that the classic minis were on sale last month? did anyone order? :)
I'm kinda hoping they will be on sale again in the near future. it seems super risky given that no one has received one ever, but the size is too perfect *.* and I'm hoping new orders would remind Dollshe to actually work on them.
but the fact that only a small selection of them is available makes me feel hopeful that he's... I dunno, being more realistic about what he can/is willing to produce?

    11. Hello everyone! Don't suppose anyone knows what shoes and clothes fit the 28M males? My friend has a Dollshe Grant Phillipe and we can't get his big feet in most shoes haha!

    12. Hello, hello. New to forum, fairly new to bjds. I am guilty of buying Diana and some other things in that infamous yet tempting sale, and AFTER THAT, I have checked this thread. Oh well. It seems like I have lots of time to prepare for my new doll. So, I wonder where can I shop for shoes/clothes for dollshe girls, they seems to have a rather big feet.

(With 3 years of waiting I have a chance to learn sewing, right? RIGHT???)

      • x 1
    13. Hahaha. Right!

    14. I know SartoriaJ does clothes for 26f, but I'm not sure what the major differences from Diana are there!

    15. I've repainted my dollshe Arsene, finally he has a proper face I am fully satisfied with >_<

    16. @noirobscur -Oh he's wonderful!!!! I love his wig also. Did you make it?
I have an Arsene I need to faceup....ugh...Yours is a delight to see.

    17. Yeah, the wig is my job too, this one is rather old, from the old times when I would make a very hard and thick cap for the wigs:nowords:. When I'm done with repainting every last one doll from my crew, I'd really love to update the wigs too. The maintenance never ceases for the dolls >_<

    18. So, I thought it wouldn't drive me absolutely nuts to have to wait three days to open packages (it's a rule in our house right now, my parents are older so we are being extra careful). . . but omg, knowing that my big Ausley is all disassembled and in a box in the next room and I can't save her till Saturday AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa.
At least I am off that day. I really want to put her together and paint heer!

      • x 2
    19. @noirobscur - It's a great wig! It doesn't look too thick at all.
Yes, dolly maintenance it never ending!

Someday....I would love to learn to make wigs.

    20. I admittedly haven't been super active in these threads (or DoA in general) lately. I must say I did have my eyes bug out a bit during some of those recent sales. I mean—when I got Mundei (my Dollshe King Corey), I snagged him up during one of the previous sales, but YIKES! I felt like I made a bad timing call.*_*

But then I came to my senses and was thankful I ordered him when I did. He did take about 6-7 months to get shipped out, but considering the current backlog....that'd probably be upwards of a year now. Such is with Dollshe. When you get one, you know you're in for a long wait :XD:

Speaking of my precious boy—did a photo op with him recently. Nothing fancy (not debonair, or fancied up to the nines), but Mundei's not really that kind of guy. Being casual, enjoying life and it's natural splendours—that's more his thing.

    21. @jade-eyed-cat I've not seen a King Corey, he is incredible- is he cast in the caramel brown resin? I really like it. I am impressed by all the options Dollshe now has in terms of body type, resins and scale- I bought my Saint second-hand back when the face plate dolls were first introduced. Here is Noah, who is quite Zen at the moment, also preferring to be bald:

He is wearing an old Dollmore outfit which is one of my favourites, fully lined and nicely tailored.

    22. @Saba Your Saint is wonderful! I like his outfit and bald head!

      • x 1
    23. @Saba yeah, he's in the honey caramel brown. It's kind of a shame there aren't more King Coreys around honestly. The potential he has to be made up into so many fantastic different looks...and mine doesn't give him that kind of justice really.

    24. My Ausley is finally out of mail quarantine and put together! Now I just need to paint her. Her name is Rue.

    25. @TatterPunk congrats! Can't wait to see your faceup!

      • x 2
    26. Here she is! I still have to give her tattoos, but those I need to design, so it may be a little bit there. Eventually I'll get different eyes for her (gonna get Dreaming Tree Studios ones - she's still making them, you just have to e-mail her directly) and make her a different wig (the mohair I ordered is gonna be a few months probably since it's coming from Poland). She's done for the time being anyway.

    27. Nice!!!

      • x 1
    28. @TatterPunk great face up, I’m getting a bit of an Uma Thurman vibe from Rue
@nancy_schroeder_ca me too! When he’s bald I can see his cute ears lol
@jade-eyed-cat agreed, the King Corey sculpt appears quite versatile, which is interesting because it has such strong features. I think you definitely do the sculpt justice :)

    29. my notifications stopped pinging for this thread, i feel so behind... but i am compelled to comment on the pictures gifted to us...
@noirobscur - that outfit is just amazing, and the red makes his face up and hair colour just pop.
@jade-eyed-cat - what a beautiful style, the hair colour and his eyes look so complimentary, and he looks very put together imho
@nancy_schroeder_ca - that outfit is so detailed with all that stitching, and he looks so sweet and serious
@TatterPunk - i love her look! and those pants are divine, i'm partial to punk plaid, and i can't believe how fast you did that nice face up!

i'm still waiting for my 28M Grant & David, and i just did a dumb thing and added an 18M Aramis. can't resist the special package deal... maybe in a year or two i'll get to post some pics

    30. Tbh, it really baffles me that I haven't seen any owner pictures of him before seeing yours. King Corey is an absolutely gorgeous sculpt and I was sure loads of people would have gotten him by now... but if they have, I haven't seen any :huh?:
Yours is amazing, btw, I love the blue of that shirt against that resin - so striking! :D

    31. I love that caramel brown color! I on a bad trainwreck of thinking if I want to order a Diana now too...

    32. I reeeeally need to get some 1/3 sized props. At least a chair or something. All I have are random weird shaped sticks. . and a coffee cup (not shown here). Anyway, I got some new lights and a soft box so this was me using it for the first time.

    33. Yup! They beg for props! I now have 4 folding chairs, a couch, a screen, 2 tables, an old bureau, books, a lamp, a slinky, a maze toy, a bunch of drinks, iphones, glasses, face masks, jewelry, paintings, hats, bags, an umbrella, and 2 beds. All in about a year. So demanding!

    34. Does anyone happen to know which one of Dollshe's colours (fresh or oriental) is closer to Luts RSN?

    35. Hi everyone!
Does anyone know when does the sale end for the special package Diana? I am thinking of ordering her but I would like to know when does the sale ends. Thank you! :)

    36. there’s a countdown on the site. Looks like 14 days left

    37. Thank you!

    38. Dropping by to share my boy, Eiji! <3

    39. Woah, I love his lower eyelashes :aeyepop:

    40. @SteamWitch Do you still have your espresso ebony boy? I swear you're the only one I've seen with one in that resin and he's gorgeous. I regret not being able to get the 55cm Saint in that colour but I also wasn't willing to wait longer for him after 18+ months.

    41. Question! Does anyone A) have one of the new Arsenes who could give me an exact head measurement? And/or B) have one of the old Arsenes to give me a head measurement for as well? Thank you in advance.

      • x 1
    42. @Iron_Dog I have only the one tan SA Saint, I thought he was ebony but he isn't honey skin. He is still pretty cool.
If I was younger, I might have ordered one of the smaller Dollshe boys but when you're closing in on 69 years old, investing in something I'd have to wait for a year or two is not wise planning.

    43. @SteamWitch Really? Huh. I thought he was. Still gorgeous. Maybe someday I'll add a Saint to my collection *shifty eyes*. Somebody that I know that is local to me is apparently selling her Saint. I have no dolly funds though having just purchased a doll (who's STILL in transit after 22 days *sigh*). Akusuo is a Hound in honey mango and he's such a lovely, salted caramel colour. The honey resin is very nice. Wu-Tyr is an Orijean in oriental.

I can completely understand not wanting to get on the Dollshe crazy train (regardless of your age). Unless something were to drastically change with Dollshe production times and become something reasonable, I highly doubt I'll ever order brand new from Dollshe again.

    44. What a wonderful group! I think Hunter is my favorite!

    45. Thank you @nancy_schroeder_ca He was my first Saint and it took me about 3 years to get the right combination of faceup, eyes and wig to make him just right.

    46. @TatterPunk I measured my 2019 Arsene head around the crack of the headcap at 20.5cm. And lower on the forehead where a wig would go at 21cm.

    47. Thank you @Mahgiep ! That helps a lot! Trying to figure out some stuff for future doll plans.

    48. Sharing my Lebanon, he's a dollshe Adonis, and my dslr camera just loves him^^
I appreciate his big eyes because he is the only doll pulling off these absolutely beautiful Enchanted doll eyes from my collection.

    51. @noirobscur - i'm picking myself up off the floor... what a great picture and how everything is just so *real* - just amazing <3

    52. I'm sharing Eiji today! I finished his arm tattoos over the weekend and he's looking a lot more like how I envisioned him. :D

    53. OMG!!! :o You've created a masterpiece!

    54. I also was so tempted about the sale on Diana... and on impulse: I did it. I bought her in honey resin Sapphire blue bc omg it’s soooo gorgeous, and paid in full... but I never heard anything before about the wait time, or maybe I wouldn’t have bought... but I’ve wanted a sapphire blue Dollshe ever since I first saw one. I own a regular asking tone in honey resin and omg is it a gorgeous resin!!! Worth it!

I also got one, but mine is in pure resin!
How are you planning to style her? :)

    57. @kagami - Eiji looks amazing with the bold graphics tattoos, and i love his hair and hoodie. he is so handsome. <3

    58. I have no idea or maybe I should say I have so so many ideas! Maybe I’m going to try to draw them and then paint them because I’m sure I’ll have some time before she arrives LOL! I’m just dreading the wait, I’ve heard some horror stories, I even saw a YouTube video of a woman who waited three years for her doll to arrive from Dollshe... the suspense would literally do me in! I wouldn’t survive! Even with the terrific sale, she was a big chunk of change to pop down.... I hope I see her at least this year!!!
