Dollshe Discussion - Part Fourteen

Mar 15, 2018

    1. Any Monica’s received yet?

    2. Man it's nice to see a new wave of dolls finally arriving. <3 Congrats to all the patient people finally getting their dolls!

A bit of Sunday Nox spam for you all. ^^

    3. The last two orders I had took about seven weeks in packing status - but that was evidently so that the extra hands I'd ordered (the second order) could be added to the package.

The last two dolls I have on order are now both on packing status. Adonis has been on packing status for two to three weeks now - my raspberry honey resin traditional Ausley body with Bernard head has just joined the packing status. I'm over a year on each of them, but I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll see them before the new year.

It was much better for me when I sent the money, then decided to stop looking at the parcel status for about nine months.

    4. I'm at 7 months for my order but know that's nothing in terms of the Dollshe Wait. Still processing as the status *sigh*. I don't think there's been any word either on the progress of the new 55cm option although he had opened another order period for them.

    5. I was told in an email that part of the hold up are the Coa's. I didn't get mine with Diana. They said they will be ready in 3 weeks when they ship my Adonis and will include it with him plus her high heel feet they left off of my order. If any of you ordered the high heel leg, check your order and either replace that part or get a refund because they aren't making that part anymore.

    6. Yeah, the CoA producer is behind. I have a head sitting with the lovely bjdivas because her coa hasn't been made yet.

    9. I have my tracking number! Legolas (Aramis puzzle package) is FINALLY in the post. 15 months since order was placed! XD

I’m thinking of using the transparent body for him, since only his hands and face will show, which leaves the other body for a floating head or maybe Zero, because his iplehouse body is... well... not great.

    10. Congrats! It really is good to see dolls that were ordered ages ago making their way out the door.

I'm in the interesting (and unenvyable) position right now of NOT wanting Dollshe to complete my boy just yet. Canada Post is currently on strike (and has been for a while) and is now refusing packages due to a backlog caused by the strike. There's literally hundreds of transport trucks (I think 600 was the last total) sitting in the yards, filled with mail. Someone in my local doll group has had a doll stuck in a warehouse somewhere for 6 weeks already due to the strike. I had my Oscar Eyes order (via EMS) refused acceptance about a week ago *sigh*. Iple has actually added a note for Canadian customers that while they're more than welcome to place orders, but delivery won't happen until the strike is over. That, right now, appears to be at least January.

    11. Wow, that’s a mess. And I thought U.K. postal services were bad. Hope they can resolve it soon, sounds like I good way to spoil Christmas too...

    12. I’m *almost* in this situation. I had to ask BJDivas to receive some heads for me, and then send them via courier.

    13. CANPost has been in talks with the union for like a year now. I believe they started strike actions in September with rolling work disruptions where some places wouldn't get mail for a few days. That was a bit inconvenient but not critical. Then the rolling strikes hit Toronto and the GTA and everything ground to a halt for roughly 2 weeks (I didn't get any mail at home or work during that time). One of the main Customs/sorting centers for the country is in Mississauga so when that got shut down for 2 weeks with zero movement of anything....

There's talk of Trudeau forcing the workers back to work within the week as postal service is an essential service but I wouldn't count on him actually doing anything. Even if the workers are forced back, it'll take quite a long time to just clear the backlog of mail never mind deal with the continuing incoming mail from not only within Canada but from other countries, too. CANPost has already sent out a warning that anything you have ordered will NOT arrive in time for Xmas due to the backlog.

    14. @Iron_Dog and @Chameleon - I am so sorry about that postal strikes! What an awful situation! I'm an Etsy seller, so I've been keeping an eye on the situation - my most recent Canadian order just squeaked through and arrived before everything really got backed up, but as it is now I wouldn't dare send anything.

I feel so sorry for all the people trying to prepare for Christmas (not to mention dealing with daily life - I was reading about bills not arriving in time so they can be paid before they are due, etc.). I really hope the situation resolves quickly.

    15. Right before the holidays—could it come at a worse time? (Or maybe that was the point?) I really feel for people who may miss bill payments because of this. I live in a small rural town and there are some items we’d have to drive 8 hours round trip to buy, so we rely on the mail service up here. Among other things, I can cross half a dozen Christmas gifts that won’t be arriving in time off the list.

Fingers crossed for anyone who has a Dollshe (or any other long-awaited order) caught in the mess. I hope as things are sorted afterward they all end up where they are supposed to go. :(

    16. So if you paid for shipping and Canadian customs or postal service wont accept it and they send it back, do you have to pay shipping again when the strike is over? That would suck big time. *_*:o:...(

    17. @SteamWitch, I wonder that also! it's such a huge mess.
I emailed dollshe a week or so ago and was told they're still working on the classic mini and it wouldn't ship 'til at least December (so probably much later) so there's that at least. But my Venitu shipped the day before the strike affected Vancouver processing and it took a week for them to even acknowledge it arrived in the country after it had, I was so anxious! Now he seems to be stuck in Richmond. Luckily mine just squeaked by but I sure feel for anyone who's dolls have been turned back. Hope this strike gets a resolution soon.

    18. @SteamWitch I'm not sure how that rejection would work with regards to shipping costs. It would be massively unfair to ding the customer since the strike is not their fault nor is it their fault that the postal service sent the package back due to the strike. But in all likelihood, the customer will need to pay because I can't see CANPost swallowing the cost for all the returned packages that they denied.

I know for my Oscar Eyes order, it never even made it out of Korea, the Korean post sending it back (with an explanation) to Oscar. But I have heard of some people stuck in shipping limbo with irate customers/buyers wanting the things they paid for (which is reasonable) from Canadian sellers. The poor sellers can only say that they sent the items out but due to the strike, nothing is being moved across the entire country. And, of course, one you've dropped something in the mail, you can't go back a few days later and ask for your package back in order to use a different delivery service if you suddenly get caught in the strike action.

    19. I got a delivery from Canada today. :) Yay.
I had to try Thorne out on this body (accidentally posted it in the DZ thread but deleted it, Oops).
I may leave him like this on the Granado vindoll body.

    20. Does anyone know if the holiday event sale prices are already reflected on the site or are they not live yet?

    21. The shipping gods have truly blessed you to have received any package from Canada right now.

The body looks pretty good on him. The resin/vinyl match isn't too shabby either.

    22. Nevermind, they literally just updated the site.
Edit: They didn't. My mistake. My question still stands if anyone knows.

    23. They've started updating their site, but it's not done yet. :)

    24. Thank you so much BJDivas.

    25. I'm still learning... Does Dollshe offer face up services or do they only offer blank dolls? The dolls I look at on their site don't seem to have that option.

    26. They do, but you can also find one with face-up on the 2nd hand market or commission someone to do a face-up for you. - Or learn to do a face-up yourself?

    27. They do offer faceups, or at least they are still listed in the shop. They are provided by SartoriaJ. I am not sure whether going via the Dollshe site would introduce an element of chaos to ordering one, though, and whether you might be better going direct via their Etsy shop. Most of the faceups in the promo shots are by SDink. I am not sure if she is still offering faceup services, but you might be able to track her down and ask.

    28. I think I saw something on FB about SDInk offering some slots for face-ups recently. I'm almost positive I also saw her post some of the dolls she painted for DollShe in the MP although I can't remember how long ago that was as I've been trying to be good and avoiding the wicked temptation of the MP.

    29. Next week I'll receive my Aramis head in copper oriental. Now I'm waiting to know if bodies as parts are included in the new event, I want 32s body in same skin for Aramis.

    30. Well I stopped getting email updates for this thread (and just about every other one I follow), most annoying. Good too hear the Dianas are starting to ship out. Not so good with the current mess the Canadian postal service is in. I'm hoping it's resolved quickly and they can get stuck into the backlog asap.

    31. A bill to legislate the postal workers back to work passed in the House of Commons after midnight Friday/early Saturday morning. It's now before the Senate but they deferred it to debate until Monday (because why would they want to work the weekend?). The postal union is saying that should the bill be passed by the Senate (and receive royal approval), they'll fight it in court as unconstitutional. There is precedence for that as it happened before during a postal strike and they actually won in court.

The union says the corporation is lying about a backlog and idle trucks filled with mail and that the sorting facilities are currently operating under capacity. If that's the case, then why is CANPost refusing packages from anywhere including those from within Canada and why are people reporting about doll deliveries being stuck in a warehouse with no movement for literally weeks (rotating strikes started mid-October)? This has happened to several people in my local doll group. My Oscar eye order was denied acceptance and never even left Korea. Another local person had her SoulDoll doll recently stopped from leaving Korea, too (SD now has a notice that they'll take orders from Canadians but won't ship until the strike is over).

The whole thing is a mess at the worst time of the year for sending/receiving packages.

I personally believe both sides are lying to an extent in order to present themselves in a better light to the public in order to sway opinion to their side. But I'm a paranoid, cynical person so.....

    32. Both are lying, yeah both.. :3nodding::3nodding: both.. :3nodding::3nodding: both... yeah both. :abow:
      It sucks!!!
Made a trade for this lovely body and Baileyana is the recipient of the body. Lucky boy.

    33. While I was taking photos this morning I got out my other Dollshe's. While I have many Saints I went with one of each sculpt I have.
Old SA Hound, Grown EN Bermann, SA Saint, OE Orijean and SA Bernard. Only the Hound- Jae, Saint- Wiath and Bernard- Kise, are on Dollshe bodies.

    34. a really, really stupid questions I guess, but I am still super confused when it comes to the categories of dollshe-bodies:

what does the "18/24/28 M" mean? is it just the model? or does the number refer to the bodybuild?

    35. The numbers refer to the “age” of the body type, according to Dollshe.

      18m is male 18 years old = slender(sort of)

24m is male 24 years old =fit and lanky(sort of in between 18m and 28m)

28m is 28 years old = muscle bound( much like a sculpture from Michelangelo)

    36. thank you so much! finally it makes sense to me... i am more into skinny/slender body-types but was always confused by the number-system. :)

    37. Ooh congratulations! She's lovely and I can't wait to see how you style her. I hope this means any other Canadians waiting on parcels will be getting theirs soon too. :)

    38. The postal workers have been legislated back to work. The union is saying they'll fight that in court as unconstitutional. Some workers are saying despite being legislated back to work, they won't show up. CanPost is saying the backlog may take until January to clear while the union says they're not backlogged and are actually operating at under capacity (which would mean to me that they've then been holding packages hostage for weeks). No word yet on when other countries can start sending us packages again or if we can send packages out (I wouldn't personally risk that as I don't trust either side to be truthful here).

    39. No idea when it’s 100% safe to do so, but I just had a package from the states clear customs without being refused. We will see how long it sits in the backlog before reaching me.

    40. @Chameleon I've got my fingers crossed for you for a short wait!

I'm going to take a boo at UPS to have a head sent back to me. The face-up artist finished him and was about to send him home when the news broke about CANPost refusing packages. I don't want to gamble on him sitting in a warehouse/truck somewhere for gods knows how long while everything gets sorted (pun intended).

    41. Ebay claims this one is going to deliver between the Friday and the 6th, so I’m also hoping for less delay. Granted, this was an impulse doll, and from her company I’d normally have to wait 6 months, so I’ll take what I can get. She also doesn’t have a face up, so I’m not as worried.

    42. @Chameleon *nods* If it was just an outfit or a wig, I'd be all meh, whatever, and take my chances. But the head is an AT Crow so it's not like I could get another very easily if something were to go awry and it was lost in the system as they deal with the sheer volume of stuff to be sorted. It's also a small-ish box because it is just a head and, in my mind, much easier to lose track of than say a doll-sized box.

    43. That all makes sense. I’m hoping Mississauga doesn’t take too long to get me my doll, but I’ll let you know how Canada post handles things

    44. Cool! Thanks. I'll be curious to see how well they do as there's things I'd like to order that I've delayed on getting due to the strike.
