DollShe craft 28M and 26F Fashion Pose 44/41 cm size

Dec 8, 2014

    1. You bought Grant, right? He came with the wine glass hands. David came with the smoking hands. This was the same as the large scale versions, I believe. I got David and he came with smoking hands (plus hip hands, relaxed hand, and paddle hands).

    2. Jeez, really? I wish the man would make up his mind. The full package listing (quoted on p 46) states smoking hands for the Xmas package, unless that was just the listing for the Kuncci and the listing for the Grant Philiippe was different. The full packages for both now include all sets of hands.

And I have just put up my review of the fun-sized Dollshes. It might be full of errors, as it is late and I fail at web publishing. Anyway, for those who are interested, it is here.

    3. I guess they did change that later. I distinctly remember in the 70cm versions (when they first came out), David came with smoking hands and Grant with wine glass hands. It seemed to carry over into the mini versions as well (at least for the Christmas package). Maybe they decided to throw all the hands in there because it was a pain to remember who got what. ;)

      Great review, MadamMauMau.
I have spent the last half hour trying to post pictures of my mini Grant here and once again cannot get flickr to work. Now he is done with his penance and got all dressed up. And I am staying with the name Ibrahim.

edit: hey, the picture magically showed up when I posted. Before, it was just a blue questionmark.

    5. Enjoyed reading your review. I thought it was spot on and well written.

Also no cig hands with my full set either. Wonder if any one ever received a set.

    6. No smoking hands for me, either. But there seems to be more Grant owners than David owners reporting, at the moment.

Any way, I gave my guy a new face up. I'm happier with this one, and having a new can of MSC works wonders.

No wig yet, but I'm making a practice one for another doll with long hair right now so that I can figure it out before attempting a shorter hair one for him.

Hopefully, he has some clothes coming in the mail tomorrow. They should have been here today, but the month of December and USPS means everything arrives at least a day late. :sighAh, well.

    7. :aeyepop: he's beautiful!

    8. seeing how gorgeous these fashion line boy are makes the wait for my siggy so much harder!!

    9. Candyworld on Etsy is selling urethane eyes that she calls "Popovy size". They are 8mm with 2.5mm irises so they should work on the Fashion sized dolls. I ordered a pair so will see how they look when I get them.

    10. @Kayka whoa, he is breathtaking! :D

    11. I hear ya. My only other MSD height doll is an Unoa, and there is no planet where they would look good together. I'm thinking one of the 16" girls from Dollmore, or something like MadamMauMau's Chicline Rou has me tempted lol. Don't think I'll go with Dollshe again though.

    12. I got a bargain on Classic 28 Rey Lewis. The voucher works. Now for the wait.

    13. I would love to see what the guys look like with an Unoa if you can provide a picture @kobbi!

    14. @kobbi I, too, have a Unoa, and I totally agree! Not a good match, at all. I kind of like Amanda Beauty, but I don't think I could wait 3 months to a year to get her directly from Dollshe. Ooh, the 16" girls from Dollmore look promising! I do really like Chicline Ena, but I'm afraid that she'd be a tiny bit short for what I want, but I'd have to see her in comparison to be sure.

@Gamekitty I posted a couple comparisons to my Unoa here in my guy's box opening. I can try to snap some better ones after while. They don't really 'fit' together as Dollshe boys make Unoas look bobble-headed. I think a Unoa 2nd, or possibly the Unoa Elder sister, might work, but I don't have either for comparison.

    15. I've been pining for a Diana long before the Dollshe boys existed and now the want is even more strong haha.

I'm almost done painting my Grant (just need to do eyelashes and eyebrow hairs) so when I'm done that I'll take some good comparison pics with my Unoa. The only thing is my Unoa is on an old Dollzone body, but that could be useful too. I'll probably be hanging out with a friend who has a full Unoa (and other sized MSDs) that I could do pics with if anyone is interested.

    16. @Kayka Thank you so much for the photos! It does look promising for a hybrid! Also your boy is so dreamy. Can't wait to see what You are going to do with your boy!

    17. @kobbi Diana is stunning, and actually the mold I was most interested in. Can't wait to see your finished guy!

@Gamekitty Here's a better comparison I just did of my Unoa and my Dollshe Grant. Body-wise the scale is okay; head-wise it doesn't work well due to Lusis' larger head and less realistic facial proportions. My Lusis looks more pale/washed out in these photos than she does in real life, it's really difficult to get an accurate color picture of her next to Grant. Lusis is 2009 1.5 Normal Skin. Grant is Light Tan.

    18. I can promise comparison pics to my Unoa ES once her body is home again but imo her face is also too big in comparison

    19. Thank you @Kayka for your pics! Definitely need a Grant now.

It is hard to photograph older Unoa skin colors I find too. My 2006 Sist looks creamier in photos than in person.

    20. So the day has finally come, me joining officially to the one year club. Thank you Dollshe for this questionable honor. I quess he has his priorities on something else, like finishing all new lines and new heads, than on sending his customers their orders on reasonable time. I have lost count of how many new lines he has started while we've all been waiting. At his point I have lost all my hopes of seeing my Amanda and Grant during this year.

I think I was a little fool to make new order for Dollshe before getting the previous one home. But since I already did it I have a question to those who have ordered fashion sizes dolls in PURE Pale Tan. How do the seam lines look like, are they noticeable? Also is the color even and does it have big sanded spots? I'm wondering now if I should have ordered Erica in Pale Tan. But after searching the web for that resin color I've find out that some of the bigger dolls have had very visible seam lines and big sanded spots. Those are both things I don't want for my own dolls, especially for something as small as these are. I'm hoping this isn't the case anymore?

Well, boo. I hope you get yours in by Christmas. It might be the time to get a time estimate, although you know it will be a rough one.

    22. My guess would be your Grant was done but they did not send it because they want to save shipping by sending both dolls together. This is what happened with my Grant who got shipped when my Van and Lewis were ready. As far as I know none of the fashion size girls have shipped yet but didn't the last email say they would ship in December?
It is not a legit practice on their part since we paid for shipping for each item so they should be shipping individually as they get done.
      Great artist. Bad businessman.
As far as sanding, I don't think you will have much problem there. There are some visible seam lines on Grant but not noticeable to me. Your mileage may vary.

Later: According to their website "80% of current on hand orders have been shipped." If this is true, why have we not seen any of the mini ladies here yet?

    23. @AnnieStar My guy has minor seam lines but they don't detract in my personal opinion, and I honestly haven't noticed them since I first took him out of the box and gave him a once over.

He does have sanded areas on the top of his head and the backs of his feet. I can take detail pictures after work today, if you want to see and be prepared. You can see the sanding on my guy's head on the previous page.

    24. I ordered Grant, David, and Ausley and I still haven't heard any news in regards to my orders. Maybe it's just like you said, @Therealwalter, it might be held up because the 26F dolls might not be ready yet. Hopefully I'll get a reply from them soon in regards to this :(

    25. Yup. 1 year and 1 day now!

Booo. Really hope they ship soon, would be great to arrive in time for christmas xD

    26. Ended up in 1 year club today. ;~; I'm only waiting for oriental Lewis though... I'm not sure if they even started casting Lewis.

    27. Awe I'm so sorry you guys! But... at least you have the once incomprehensible honor of being in the one year club!

Here's to hoping your dolls will start shipping out shortly....

    28. *_*Eep, sorry for everyone in the one year club. I hope you get your guys and gals soon!

@AnnieStar I posted a few sanded area and seam references for the Pure Pale Tan here under direct lamp light and regular ambient room lighting.

His casted skin tone is very even across all body parts and optional parts. Anywhere that had gating during the casting process was sanded away, which did result in color differences in the sanded areas. Most of these areas, such as the top of the head and insides of joints, will be covered or unseen during normal display.

    29. @Therealwalter I'm sure you're right about my Grant beeing ready and only waiting Amanda. The last time I asked about the shipping estimate I was told that Grant would be ready at the end of November. I did order them together and not expecting them to shipped by themselves. But still I find it weird they started casting the girls after most of the men were already casted/shipped. And yeah, if 80% of girls should have been shipped by now where on earth are they? I haven't seen any either! And the shipping for girls should be finished after next week? Does feel a little worrying that the latest timetable might not happen. What a surprise…

@Kayka Thank you so much for the pictures, those are were helpful! :D The colour looks very nice indeed and the seamlines and sanded parts are very modest. Those I could easily tolerate.

Now off to wonder if Erika would be nicer in Pale Tan instead of the Copper Oriental I ordered her. Sometimes it's so hard to choose the skin colour, especially now when there's no owner pictures around for this mold.

    30. It would be so much better if he would complete the dolls first before selling them, like most companies do, instead of these "in love with grey" deals. Then they could show pictures of dolls with real resin colors and face ups so we know what we are really ordering. But then he would have to actually complete a project before moving on to a new one.
      Ain't gonna happen. :huh?:

    31. Happy Dance!:dance
My dolls are on their way,, 1year 2days (Grant-tan and Ausley-ebony):)

    32. yay a girl! Congrats~

    33. Huzzah!

    34. YIPEE! :XD:

    35. And the thing is, he did say (like, a year ago?) that he would no longer start taking orders for unfinished dolls. <_<
But at least he offers huge discounts! At this point, really the only reason I have to buy from dollshe.

    36. Yay! the women are set free! and Ebony skin. can't wait to see her!

      :kitty1

    37. Well it has been 1yr and 3 days since I ordered my Amanda........guess 2016 is the year she will finally come home :sigh

    38. Wow... I'm so sorry to hear that the One Year Club has actually become a thing. Here's hoping that it won't be too much beyond a year before you guys receive your dolls. It's good news that some of the girls have finally started shipping, though. That'll make a nice winter holiday present for some of you! My Grant has been dispatched and has already arrived at the address of his new owner (and I've ordered a doll from a different company). It's just too bad that the 30% discount coupon from Dollshe is non-transferrable, because I know I definitely won't be using mine, but I would love to be able to pass along the savings to someone who wants it.

    39. Wow, a girl has shipped! :love Please post lots and lots of pictures when she arrives home @mymy

    40. My doll is shipped and on her way! I ordered an ebony Amanda and it has been over a year, and I am so addicted to the Dollshe dolls because they are beautiful that I ordered the children dolls! I hope Santa delivers her before Christmas!
