DollShe craft 28M and 26F Fashion Pose 44/41 cm size - Part 3

Jun 30, 2017

    1. @shadow_takatori yes the dollshe website is a beast, sometimes I can't even find the fashion dolls (but that might just be me :sweat). I didn't realise the head size had only just been changed, so yeah who knows when they'll get to their new homes :sweat.

@crowtree ahhh right so it's just Amanda Beauty, I just assumed it would be all of them (i dont know why) :XD:. Thanks so much for the link that's a big help. Looks like the difference is negligible.

    2. I'm completely confused by all the information, changes, and comments from Dollshe in email and on the site.
I thought I saw that there were extra heads for Adonis, but not sure if that included fashion size? Anyone know?

Before I send Dollshe an email, I want to sort of know what I'm talking about. I'd like to add the sleeping face to my Adonis order from last December. but, if it makes it take even longer........ on the other hand, resin matching (honey sapphire blue)

    3. @Loganberry well that's just the one I've heard about recently so I'm not sure, I'd like it very much if more heads were given the same treatment. It's only slightly larger but I think it could make a difference!

    4. Yeah thinking about it their heads are so tiny that even a head that looks ever so slightly bigger can make a difference.

Yeah I'd like if they could do it with Erica Snow as I'd like to order her soon. Hopefully they'll be an even with Erica Snow on sale soon. I know I've just missed one and I'm not sure how often they come round, I need to start paying more attention to dollshe :XD:

    5. Would anyone be willing to share some Arsene spam please? Especially if he is in pale tan. :whee:

    6. @go back a page to see my guy who just arrived. oriental.

    7. Hello guys, I'm new here. Just bought my first BJD. A Dollshe Grant Phillippe. Fashion size. Love him so far. Never thought owning a BJD will make me this involved.

I've done some research as I have been encountering problems with:
1 - wigs, I recently bought a 5.5" wig from luts, and it was still a little too big
2 - eyes, I've read the threads and I now know that I need 8mm/3mm iris to achieve a realistic look. Have visited some site like glazky (have ordered but it's just taking soo long) also some eyes on Etsy
3 - shoes, only resource I have is eBay and it doen take a long time for delivery

My question is, do you have new sites that I can visit who offer wigs, eyes and shoes that deliver quick?

Thanks for your help, guys! Appreciate it

    8. Try looking at the Monique Gold Collection 4-5 wigs from Monique Trading Co.

    9. Finding a wig that fits may take some trial and error. While in general I am a huge fan of Monique Gold wigs, I bought a 4-5 Lovely that wouldn't go on my Fashion Saint at all. He is currently wearing a 5-6 from either Iplehouse or Raccoon that was too small to fit either of those dolls. It's a perfect fit on Saint.

All I'm saying is that there are variations in fit even within size ranges that usually do fit, so let the buyer beware. And maybe buy more than one wig if you can.:thumbup

    10. I just switched out my Amanda Beauty small chest for the medium chest and let's just say my MSD string puller was too big to fit in her arms, had to get creative when putting her back together. She seems happy now, but no way will I tempt to do that again any time soon.

    11. It wasn't too bad for me to switch out to the large bust on my Amanda. I used a ribbon loop to pull the strings, I changed her legs to the calf/solid ankle at the same time. Now I am thinking I might try the flat feet because she is so tall in heels.

OK, so now I am lusting over a sleep head for Amanda. I just checked the Dollshe site and the Amanda Beauty (26F FASHION MAXI โ€“ 41cm) โ€“ Head is on sale for $96. I adore my Amanda Beauty and this is an outrageous expense when I could save for a new doll but OMG I am so tempted. I can imagine her as a sleeping beauty. Did anyone else order a new larger head for Amanda?

      • x 1
    12. I went full package on layaway too. (Is there any point to paying up front?) ;) I love my fashion Erica Snow. She has the smaller head. Hoping Amanda won't be a different species.

    13. @petiteballerine That was my reasoning as well it will be a long wait, so why not spread out the payments. I added those new Ausley heads to my order as well.

    14. I also started a layaway with the new Amanda and also later with the new Erica. Even though I already have both of them at home. I'm stupid I know. I just thought the new slightly bigger heads might do them good. Not sure what I'll do with the old versions at home when the new ones come in. But I'm sure there's plenty of time to figure that out while waiting around year before seeing the new versions. :doh

I'm also still waiting for my fashion Natalie. It's now been bit over 1 year 7 months since I ordered her. :pout:

    15. @travelerinthyme Greetings! There are many like me who would appreciate well fitting clothes for their Dollshe Fashions. When they are dressed to scale it's amazing!

Just a few of my observations for reference:

      Dollshe v Tonner Female:
26F I think are just not compatible at all.
As for Diana/Natalie we are all waiting to see.

      Dollshe v Tonner men:
Arsene fits pants and shirts depending on the style and cut.
28M fit shirts the best in my opinion, pants don't fit hips and waist
18M fit pants, shoulders are too broad for tops
24M is too small in scale for Pevensie or Superhero size.

*btw Arsene's foot fits "comfortably" in Tonner's plastic shoes. Doesn't look half bad.

    16. Thank you for your replies on Amanda Beauty's new head size and your orders. It is wonderful having the full set for her and a new larger size head would be amazing I think! I do love her smaller head as is but I am curious what the difference would be-- I like the glamour bust so the larger head might be better --who knows? I think the smaller head with flat feet and small bust might be more waifish might give that a try. It is loads of fun to imagine her in different ways and have all of the pieces to try new looks. Really expansive options, not just eyes wigs and clothes but a whole new body hands and feet and head! I still have not tried the sleep head on my David. Time to look at what I have and not be so greedy for a new doll (lol -- like THAT works)

My opinion on clothes--Fashion Maxi size does seem popular but there is enormous competition between doll companies plus all the body types seem quite different. It seems a bit of a gamble to make a clothing line. Sartorial does a pretty good business selling clothes made for Dollshe but they seem more focused on the bigger classic size. I see the sixth scale are growing in interest for collectors too but I would not want to sew that small anymore myself. Quarter scale is hard enough for me.

    17. Hi everyone! My group has agreed to help Dollshe figure out some stuff, so that they can better streamline their production and decrease wait times for all while also being able to address the substantial amounts of requests they've been getting about releasing certain sculpts in the new Classic Mini and Fashion Mini sizes. We could really use the input of anyone who can spare a bit of time to contribute their opinions. :) Hopefully we can help each other and help Dollshe get stuff out faster. :XD:

Which sculpt(s) would you like to see released in the Classic Mini and Fashion Mini sizes? You can name more than one, but please list them in order of most preferred to least preferred.

Thanks in advance! And please excuse my posting this inquiry in multiple Dollshe threads for visibility. :whee:

    18. @BJDivas - I'm interested in Rey Lewis as classic mini 28m.

    19. I would like to second Rey Lewis, but in Fashion Mini size!

    20. Oh that would be wonderful if your group can help them steamline their doll making! They have needed help for years! Their customer service email replies have already improved, is that thanks to your advice?
As for dolls I'd like to see- I'd actually like to see the Arsene body out again. I have all 3 18M fashion bodies and Arsene's is the most sturdy poser, while still being nicely aesthetic and versatile. I was very disappointed when the fashion mini of Arsene was on the mystic body instead.
doll molds I'd like to see are Bernard, Diana and Hound in fashion mini size.
I'd like to see Diana at all, really...but no one has her yet, including me.

    21. I second this opinion. I was very disappointed to see Arsene on the Mystic body. the 55cm version is Mystic. (I can't keep track of mini fashion classic maxi so I use cm)

      • x 1
    22. I too would love to see the Arsene body back. I ordered my 33cm Arsene on the mystic body because there was no choice, but Iโ€™d change it to the Arsene body in a heartbeat if I could!

Iโ€™m biased but I would love to see the 33cm dolls accelerated. I donโ€™t feel starved for choice in dolls for any of the other sizes offered, but realistic bids around 30cm are a rarer treat.

      • x 1
    23. I don't know which dolls I want on which bodies because, quite frankly, Dollshe sizing mystifies me. I've never understood the numbers (28M? 24M? 18M?) and the number of skin colors makes my head spin. What do any of the skin colors look like? As for the options...I don't know what I need because I don't understand what most of them are. I finally bought a Fashion male when I found one in stock. All I had to decide was whether I wanted him or not. I guess what I want from Dollshe is simplicity and transparency, neither of which I expect to see any time soon but I imagine it would streamline their operation immensely.

      • x 1
    24. Yes! The Arsene body. I would switch my 33cm Arsene to the Arsene body in a heartbeat if that was an option! I totally understand why they stuck with just the mystic body for reproduction/resizing because adding another option would be twice the work, but I definitely like the Arsene body more.

    25. I like the Khan body a lot. Taller, buff but lean.

    26. He has pictures of all of the skin colors on his website.

    27. I'm sure he does. They're just not where I can find them.

    28. If you Google โ€œDollshe resin colorsโ€ you will get the resin comparison pictures from the Dollshe website, without having to look for them on the site.

Note: there are 15 honey resin colors(translucent) and 13 pure resin colors(opaque resin). Some, especially the fantasy colors, have matching counterparts in each resin type.

    29. @vermont chick - The link to colours are on the site at the bottom. Scroll all the way down to the grey box and click skin colour under the Dollshe Craft Casting Center heading. It will take you to this page: honey skin, pure skin

    30. I finally redid Glen and Moon's faceups. They turned out more or less fine, but I might edit Moon's a bit.

    31. Good job on the face-ups @xyuemoto! :thumbup It's not easy doing the makeup on such a small head, especially around the eyes. Their coloring works well, too.

    32. @vermont chick - Thanks. I hope to never have to redo them again, haha.

    33. That's exactly how I feel about my small faces.

    34. Honestly, first i would love to see Mr. Dollshe honour his prior and previous commitments to everyone who has paid and is waiting on their order(s). Stop releasing new lines and stop having sales events until he can fully catch up on his back orders, this includes most of the Made To Order line.

    35. ^ This. I realise it must be frustrating to have ideas and not be able to implement them, because you have to keep casting the same old, same old. However, this is a business, with thousands of dollars of people's money invested in it. I wish he would employ a larger casting team and just let them get on with the casting whilst he can play with new ideas. Then, a marketing manager could tell him when would be the best way to work with those new ideas. There are now a large number of new works that are over a year in the waiting. That is not good enough. BJDivas, I wish you all the luck in the world in trying to tame this tiger. So many times I have said I have had enough and would never buy again. Then I look at my Dollshe dolls and order another.

      • x 4
    36. Adding my voice to the above, in case numbers helps. Iโ€™ve been lucky enough to not be stung so far, but since Iโ€™ve put an order in for 33cm Arsene, I can see it happening. Arenโ€™t there people who have now waited like two years for Diane? That really shouldnโ€™t ever be acceptable.

Get the promised sculpts out of the door. Fulfil peoples preexisting orders. They invested their money so they need their product in return (and yes I will happily wait my turn if he knuckles down and gets through his queue, fulfilling oldest orders first).

      • x 1
    37. I concur. If he could get his wait times even under six months, I would gladly buy another doll from him. Until then, unless thereโ€™s some crazy cheap sale, I donโ€™t plan to buy anything from him again.

      • x 1
    38. Iโ€™m I have to chime in to, it would be amazing if Dollshe could reduce his wait times, Iโ€™ve been waiting just over a year so far for a fashion sized Amanda in Mang Oriental resin. I love Dollsheโ€™s products, but the wait times are really off putting.

    39. I completely agree with your concerns, I can't stress that enough. I and my groupmates worry about these issues ourselves, and we spend a fair amount of time thinking about and discussing how we can get through to Mr. Kim. We're all Dollshe collectors ourselves after all and some of us are on board that 2+ year wait train for Diana. [IMG]

Mr. Kim's gotten much better at accepting our help (and hopefully lessening his own pile as a result) but personally I feel that he thinks of us as employees (which we are to an extent) and as such he isn't compelled to listen to us unless he wants to do so. We've passed along these long wait time concerns on numerous occasions and presented them to him in many different ways but I feel like we have mostly only succeeded in irritating him. I think that the power of the customers' voices definitely is stronger than ours, but I don't know if everyone is messaging him about this, and how much that compares to the inquiries he is getting from people requesting that he makes so-and-so in a certain size. I'm worried that he might have a misconception about what the demographic wants that is leading him to inaccurately think the problem isn't as big as it is. It's not like we have any numbers that we can show him to illustrate the problem, and without statistical data I always feel a bit weak and flimsy when I write him a "you need to lower your wait times, everyone thinks it's a huge problem" e-mail. Mind you, all of this is completely my own feelings, I'm not saying that this is how Mr. Kim actually feels, and even if it is, I can't say I blame him for only picking and choosing what he wants to listen to from us because we are fundamentally working for him, and I've personally had bosses do things to me that were a lot worse than not listen to me. [IMG]

Our hope is that Mr. Kim will one day totally come around. He's shown signs of coming around a bit already, so the day that he does more than send us a "thank you for your message" response when we tell him, "Mr. Kim, you need to stop making new things and shorten your wait times" is a future that we aspire towards. He's already shown some improvements, for instance we used to get only 3 or so dolls a month, but it's bumped up to 4-12 a month. This is still a very small number compared to how many people are waiting, but this doesn't seem to be a problem that can be changed overnight, not by us anyway. The powerlessness to enact a change no matter how hard we try feels very bad, it's gotten to the point where we've seriously discussed sending one of us over there to sort things out with him, but it never manifests as a viable option. So, the most effective thing that we figured we can do to reign him in is to focus his attention on specific directions, rather than letting him run wild in ALL the directions.

He is a genius (in my opinion), however I have to admit that sometimes going to South Korea with a baseball bat feels like it would be helpful, even though I know it isn't. [IMG]

    40. That last bit! LOL So true! (my mind brings Mr. K from Gravitation to mind with his guns to the head). I so appreciate you BJDivas!
And I totally see what you mean about giving him accurate data. I would suggest a poll. It would be better if the poll was on the Dollshecraft website, but maybe put it on yours and link everyone here and other Dollshe groups to it. Then we can all give him accurate data! Pretty much say: Which is more important to our current customers? New sizes/sculpts or shorter wait times? Simpler is better with him, and I have no doubt in my mind the latter will be the majority.

    41. What about something like a petition? o:

    42. We know Mr Kim reads this thread and has felt despondent when people have expressed their feelings about the waiting times. However, they have every right to complain and he then needs to address the issues. We know from previous experience that he will have a little fillip of activity; get stuff cast, make a couple of new dolls. Then it will go back to how it was. Frustrating, but it is what it is. It would be safer if people didn't feed this situation by telling him that they want new things. Just keep telling him you want the things you have already paid for and, eventually, you might get them.

    43. Sorry to interrupt the discussion here... But I would like to share that I received my Aramis a few days ago !! The wait was eleven month (just missed my entry in the "one year club!). I even got a gift head (EN head) for the waiting time (I exchange some mails regarding my order, not even to complain but just to have some news about it).
The funny thing is that it was totally unexpected because I didn't get any shipping notice.... In fact yes, I did get one... two days after I received the doll!
      Pics wil follow soon ...

    45. Joining the thread as my partner and I are writing on an order that includes a Fashion Amanda~ sitting at a 10 month wait so far but 8 of those were our layaway through BJDivas, (you're a godsend!) And we ordered during the discontinuation period and event. I'm starting to do some hopeful poking around to find clothes for this poor incoming gal and am following the thread someone in here made but I'm having a hard time finding the style I need, also looking for wig and eye suggestions~

      Thanks!

    46. Sigh. Last payment for Diana sent in and now the impatient part of waiting begins... and I can't say I'm looking forward to it. I had a six month wait for a doll last year, which wasn't so bad... but the artist regularly posted updates, photos, and was so open about the whole thing that the wait was more of a hype train than anything. My heart definitely goes out to the people who've been waiting for years for their doll!

    47. Oh! A fashion Adonis is home. Not mine, but it gives me hope. I'm going to send an email to Mrs. Kim to see if my blue man is scheduled for anytime soon. It would be so nice not to be in the one year club again. :wantshipping:

    48. I keep checking my status on my Bermann on Arsene body...still processing of course.
I had a bit of fun last week on a rainy day.

    49. Just got an email saying my Pale Tan Mystic body is on it's way! Hopefully that means some of the "rarer" colors you all have ordered will be out soon!

I'm hoping I like the Mystic body because I'm leaning towards ordering one for my elf boy since i decided the 28M body is too buff for his character. Does anyone have both the Mystic and Arsene bodies that can tell me which they think poses better? I have the Arsene here already, so I'm curious to see how they compare when the other gets here.

    50. Just put a claim on the 44cm Rey Lewis from bjdivas! This is a super big leap for me, having only owned RS and 1/3 rs hybrids before! I'm a bit worried about clothes but I have time to find ones that fit <3

    51. @basilclover you'll love him. what color resin? check out our thread for What Fits. there are a lot more shoes and clothes for the 44s than when they 1st came out.

What Fits: What Fits the Male Dollshe Fashion Pose 44cm

Dollshe replied to my query about my Adonis fashion. Supposedly, he'll be cast in two weeks, then ship after aesthetics are finished. I hope that's true. It would be fantastic!

      :wiggle :wantshipping:

    52. The pure oriental. He will get there on Sunday they say!

    53. I have both here and I must say that the Arsene body poses much better and more solidly than either mystic bodies. I didn't think I'd like him...but I really do. I wish they had him as an option for the fashion mini. Hope that helps.
I'm still waiting on my Diana...they gave me estimates that were completely wrong before and I may actually end up in the 2 year club...which is insane!

      • x 2
    54. I agree. The Arsene body is sturdier. I had to put silicone kips in my Saint's knees because they would constantly buckle/fold. I like the look of both, just wish the Mystic could stand up a little easier!

    55. Does anyone know how the Rey Lewis head would fit on the 18M mystic body? I love the face sculpt but not so much the buff 28M body lol

    56. I've seen other people hybrid Rey Lewis' head onto the 18M Mystic Body. The mobility isn't as full as the heads on the intended bodies but it's not bad. The looks are about right too. Dollshe actually has pictures of similar hybrids on their page with Grant and Rey on the Arsene Body, as well as some comments on how it is.
