What Fits the Male Dollshe Fashion Pose 44cm

Nov 13, 2015

    1. Now that the boys are shipping, we will all be looking through our collections for anything that fits these muscular men. Girls will have plenty of clothes to choose from, but these guys are going to need some custom pants! So, they deserve their own thread.

Shoes! good grief, nothing I have works with him at all.
Coats, jackets, and a very nice cardigan sweater from Tonner girls & guys fit him very well.

Matt O'Neil pants just can't handle the....equipment in the front.

Here's Capt Grant Phillippe. (poor Jack is rather cold right now) perfect fit for the vest & shirt. pants close in the back so they sort of fit, but only the waist snaps closed, not the derriere. so, lo-rise would not fit, and front opening wouldn't work. I tried some nice linen Matt/Sean pants. way too small in waist, hips & length.

frankly, I think creating a new pattern is the best idea if you sew.

Capt Grant is wearing 8mm round eyes from Volks. 6mm rounds don't cover the opening. flats might work.
I made his slouchy beanie. :kitty2

    2. Can't wait to see the fashion show!

    3. If you would kindly tell me the doll's inseam and waist, I have a bunch of Matt sized patterns I have made over the years, and I can adjust them and offer some trousers quickly.

For shoes that fit feet bigger than the Matt dolls, I would suggest you look at the Athletic-body sized men's shoes in the shoe shop of FacetsbyMarcia.com,

Give the cm of the length and width of his feet and I can compare it to my Athletic men's shoes.

    4. Thanks@petiteballerine! That is a tremendous help.

My Athletic Male trousers should be able to accommodate his junk. Off to translate the mm to inches and compare the body sizes.

    5. from what I'm seeing & reading, Tonner superhero/athletic shoes & clothes "fit" our fashion Dollshies. shirts, etc. are no problem; lots of Tonner Matt and other companies make the right size. his shoulders are not super wide.
it's that voluptuous fanny & manly part in front that causes issues. the superhero pants look doll-like to me. but, snip off those clunky belt loops & they're not bad!

      .

    6. Okay, here's my list so far:

      * PJ pants from TNT Doll Clothing on Etsy
      * t-shirts from StarrShine Designs on Etsy
      * Jeans from M3 Studio (snug, can close up, but can't sit while wearing... not uncommon for most of my boys, really)
      * Plaid button-up shirt from M3 Studio
      * 1/4 size leopard-print underpants from Pink Fantasy (mybayer2008 on eBay)
      * boots from Mimi Collection
      * Tonner Matt t-shirts
      * Impldoll button-up shirt for IMPL Young dolls (collar and buttons are huge, though)

    7. Grant Phillippe's measurements are incredibly close to the Tonner Athletic Male body Perseus that I have here. Grant's waist and hips are a bit smaller , but he is anatomically correct, and the Tonner is not, so the hip measurement probably evens out, leaving just the waist a bit bigger on the non-resin doll. I'd also be curious if anyone got one of the resin Kinsmen dolls? They look mighty muscular, and they appear to be more than anatomically correct. They have some enviable physiques, nudge nudge, wink wink.

    8. I bought these shoes on Ebay about six months ago. They are tight but do fit OK. I believe someone in China is still selling both styles but I don't access that site from Australia right now. With the lace-ups make sure it has the 7.00 cm inner and not the pair that is 6.5 cm.

    10. @AaloriRian - that's awesome! finally, a pair of pants that are long enough and fit the front of him. yay! :celebrate

    11. great styles & fit! mybayer2008 on ebay.
they had a buy two get one free with free shipping. arrived in about 10 days to the US. everything fits. but, the boots are tight. slip a piece of silk or other thin material in with your guy's foot so you can easily pull it back out! not a bad idea with all of these.

be sure to check the measurements carefully. 7.5mm inner is best. 7mm tight fit but works.

    12. Those are nice shoes. Could you do some pictures of them on?

And damn if they are the 7.5cm inner size. So is my aGatti and I had a devil of a job finding shoes for him that didn't look blobby. The only ones I could find were SD girl shoes. These, by Doll Mansion. I will try them on my Grant and go and have a look at mybayer2008 for other ideas. I know I have looked there already, but perhaps they have some new stuff in.

    13. @MadamMauMau - scroll up to Charon's post where his Grant is wearing the black 1-strap shoe. + a foot in a lace-up patent.
they're sophisticated, manly styles with a non-doll fit.
(I'm super picky about shoes. for me and my dolls) :chibi

    14. Thanks for that. I missed that post, for some reason. Yes, I am also picky with shoes (as I am with most things). Blobby, children's shoes just don't cut it for me.

    15. @MadamMauMau - those tennis shoes look very nice. I couldn't find any grown-up ones in the right size on the mybayer2008 store.
please LMK if they look nice on your Dollshe man. :daisy I wish I could find narrower laces, though.
now just have to find some thong-type sandals.....

      .

    16. I swapped the laces for some thin cord. Looks better. I will try them on him and let you know. Wondering if they will look too big, but they are slim, which was the whole purpose of getting them.

    17. I had a few things come in from mybayer2008 on ebay, and the fit is hit and miss. I snapped some quick pictures of the few things I bought.

[IMG] Notes: Bottom two buttons snap with ease. Top two will button, but strain the stitching. But Jareth!head only needs the bottom button buttoned anyway, so... moot point, for me.

[IMG] Notes: Fits tightly and limits range of motion. A shirt underneath is difficult, if not impossible. The loops for the waist strap are positioned too high, causing the belt to go across the chest, which looks strange, at best. The belt can be taken out of the loops and positioned lower. The buttons are large, but not too off-putting. Over all, a nice coat.

[IMG] Notes: These are the same type of shoes that others have been using with a 7.5cm inner measurement. They don't look odd in pictures, but they feel slightly out of scale to me, and it looks like he is wearing clown shoes. This may be mitigated once I find some longer pants. I'm interested in trying some with a 7cm inner measurement.
[IMG] Notes: This shirt was a terrible disappointment. I'm not so bothered that I can't button it all the way, but rather, it's the scale of buttons themselves that render the shirt unusable for me. (The shirt in the marketing photos had four smaller black buttons.) I will try to find some smaller buttons to replace them. This is another tight fit that limits the range of motion. It does, however, fit more flatteringly at the waist than Tonner Matt button downs.

So, my guy still doesn't have a full outfit, but I think I'll be able to make do if I can find some suitable pants. Those model delf pants look awesome! So, I might need to check into them. Has anyone tried JID clothes from Iplehouse's site? I'm particularly interested in these pants.

    18. Even though the clothes don't fit exactly they look really good! Based on my research of the JID clothes they should fit really good but I am waiting to see if they release anymore since they had a poll asking their customers what styles they would like for JID boy clothes.

    19. @Kayka - thanks so much for the update. I wonder why those black patent leather ones are soooo long. Charon's look like a good fit. I guess items for dolls aren't made to be precise.
I couldn't believe how much shipping was for two pairs of Luts Model Delf pants. I said. "nope"
I'm usually too lazy to sew jeans (all that top-stitching) but I think I'll make an exception.

    20. @AaloriRian Ooh, in that case, it might be worth waiting a bit to see if/what they release!

@petiteballerine I measured, and the outer length for this pair is 8 cm, so, that's probably why they look off to me- they're nearly 1.5 cm longer than his actual foot.

I know what you mean on the luts shipping! It's ridiculous. I did find Fabric Friends & Dolls selling the Model Delf pants in 3 colors, though. So, I might pick up a pair from them. I am many things, but a sewing-type-person I am not.

    21. for those balletomanes who want their 44cm men to dance: Footwear accessories : Key rings
drop-down list shows stores in different countries.

good fit with just enough room for tights. of course, some trimming of the front tie and the diddly thing in back is needed.

    22. Thanks for that. I have a pattern for soft shoes now but ended up cursing and throwing the first attempt in the bin as the fabric was too thick. Be very useful to have that as standby.

      Is that the soft shoe?

    23. @MadamMauMau - yes, they're the softs. 3" in length. but it was years ago & I have a jumble of different styles and sizes. the pics of the newer ones look nicer. I'm going to invest in a few pairs just for the heck of it.
big problem; he can't point his toes. he's no chicline. my Rou is sitting in a lotus pose looking snarkily at Stellan - who can, at least, sit with his legs spread unlike many of the new bodies out there, but can't cross one over the other. wonder if the little guys will get extra joints?

      .

    24. @petiteballerine you have to check out the pictures on the regular 28M King Corey's dollshe page. The smaller ones are so fiddly that I don't know if they'll be able to do it but the posing is so nice! Still has the limited foot mobility but the extra joints in the legs and arms really add to the mobility range! If it ever became available I would keep the classic torso and get the new arms and legs.

    25. @AaloriRian - oh, now that's the idea! keep the one joint torso but add those arm and leg additions. (and maybe let his head move up and down a bit more. a lot more)
yes, I saw those poses. you should be working with Mr K!
      :thumbup

      .

    26. I would love to see more pictures of these guys in shoes. I hope I ordered the right size. It is hard to tell the fit, although I do like a lot of the styles I see on offer. There's a little bit of variety (if they fit).

    27. Me too.

I just tried these on my Grant. They are just wide enough, but look rather long. It might not offend everyone, though. I will get a picture.

Anyone got any of the Vans-type shoes, like the ones in this listing? They all seem to be 6.5mm inner, so cutting it fine, but hope springs eternal.

    28. I have some Ms with the skulls, etc for my boy Unoas and they don't begin to fit our 44s. they're 7cm outer length.
I don't trust anything under 7-7.5 inner. a sneaker that's wide at the toes might work. but if they're long....ugh.
the hard-sided shoes & boots have to be 7.5 so far for me. but I don't shove his foot in. I chipped my Hound's ankle years ago & I'm squeamish now.

the problem with shoes is that my pair of your same style might fit, whereas the toe is cut a little short or narrow on your pair and they don't fit. it's not like they're making
parts for a clock or a cyclotron. "good enough" is ...well, good enough. but those big beautiful feet....I wonder how the girls are getting along?

      :candycane

    29. Well, poo. This is going to be the problem, isn't it? The wide toes. I tried some 6.5 inner rigid boots on him and he can't get his toes more than halfway in. The high tops I have on him now are 8cm outer. If they had been 7.5cm, they might have been OK. They still aren't awful, but I would rather they weren't so clown-like.

Since starting to buy these odd-sized 1:4 dolls, this is becoming a recurring nightmare.

    30. LOVE those plaid top siders, and I have seen some oxfords that I desperately would like for them to fit these guys.I saw some animal prints on ebay too.I would build a whole outfit around them, lol. It would be interesting to see what the girls are going through looking for suitable clothing. Just trying to plan ahead for when my couple get home.

    31. Chewin Malipunte in Thailand makes beautiful clothing and SHOES! he just got his Dollshe 44, so I told him how we crave some shoes - especially casual styles - for our guys.
here's his site: Shoes > Shoes for Middle size

      :hollyberry:candycane

    32. Those shoes are awesome! Casual and dressy.

    33. Ooooh I never knew of this seller! He even has a pair of pants for 17/18" dolls that I will snatch up as a temp for my poor guy

    34. @petiteballerine Thank you so much for posting that! I've never heard of him either and they make Iplehouse clothes :).

    35. check out his wigs! he'll be making them for our 44 Dollshe men, too. His sister makes the clothes or some of them. I know him from my Facebook group Men Of Resin.

      :candycane:hollyberry

    36. I didn't know Chewin made fashion doll sized clothes. And very nice they are too, and a good price. That could be handy.

    37. I find my Grant can wear most topwear from Tonner's Matt O'Neill range and here he is in a tux from DAE that I bought about 10 years ago. Also the patent shoes that some have been discussing here. Shoes don't look so big as long as the trousers sit comfortably on them.

Speaking of trousers, this guy seems to have a bigger pelvis than other fashion dolls and his 'package' also needs special consideration. I make most of my guys clothes and just spent two whole days working out a pattern for his jeans. I did make the black trousers he has with the white tux.

Mimiwoo in Hong Kong sells some nice shoes in her MSD range that fit our guys. I have runners and a pair of black suede hiking boots that come in other colours as well. Not expensive and free shipping. She has her own web site and is also on Ebay.

    38. How debonair!
      Thanks for the info.

    39. Hello you can say with precision the color of the skin and the size of the eyes of your grand philippe?

    40. I have a question to ask you, but how do you get this backcloth?

    41. Rey is wearing Tonner Basic Basil undies set. Tonner pants don't fit but the shorts fit perfectly. I have a pair from a different outfit and they are perfect too. The T shirt fits great, just a tinch tight across the back. Off topic, but Erica wears Tonner Cami undies for modesty. The panties look great but far from closing in back. Bra just hangs across the front and digs into her joints, just good enough for photos I guess.
This line will require the most realistic clothing to maximize their potential wow factor, but my gosh, they are already exquisite!

    42. It seems I have evolved from the look and love phase of these beautiful naked bodies, and have moved on to actual hands on playing. Erica is starting to show some character. Rey is wearing Edmund's Narnia outfit by Robert Tonner. It's a nice fit I think. I also want to share some shoes for Rey that I ordered before the dolls arrived.
These brown boots are really great quality, but in person they are a little large on 44cm guys. They will work OK, but they're probably more suited to a slightly larger doll with the same foot measurement.
Here is a link to more pics. (I didn't realize they came out so dark).

      wiz91us

The Brown boots are 7.5 cm inside and they are clunky and too big in real life, just my opinion.
The white pair are 7cm and a much nicer size on the foot. A little large but I really like them and I got them in black too.
The black dress shoes that tie up are 7cm and they are a dream fit! They look made for 44cm guys specifically. They would look so so nice with a tuxedo.

I got these off ebay from Mbayer. They make a decent variety of bjd shoes in several sizes. They also run buy two get one free sales sometimes. I wish they would make their animal print shoes in 7cm size. I would buy every color.

    43. very beautiful

    44. Richie, that is very handy. I am looking to shoe two, odd-sized 1:4 scale dolls and those brown boots look as though they just might fit my aGatti. And mybayer2008 have a sale on, starting today (I know, as I had a pair of their suede boots on watch yesterday). I can't find the small, black formal shoe. Looks as though that one might be gone (or I am going blind from too much shoe-shopping).

    45. @MadamMauMau I was not able to find them again either. They have a few new styles but not in the size I need.
I am also correcting that the white shoes are 7cm not 7.5 cm in my post. No wonder I like them better!
I would think 7.5cm would be perfect for Agatti guys, and the selection is pretty cool. Good luck with that.
Now that I am Dollshe experienced, I will not spend hours searching the entire internet for things while I wait for dolls to arrive. Unless,,,,,,,

    46. I ordered the Oxfords from Dollmansion2008 on Ebay, thinking they'd fit Arsene when he comes as they are listed as 6.8cm inner length. When they arrived I tried them on Rey Lewis and they are the best fit ever! Made for these guys. They're tight getting the heel in but after that there's no stressing anywhere at all. Next to my other shoes that fit Rey, these Oxfords must actually be 7cm like the others. Also, I've concluded that it's not the shoes, these guys have big feet, lol.

I've updated my album on shoes.
      IMG_20160528_101702
btw Shoes for Tonner's Evangeline DO NOT fit the 26F fashion girls. The arch is so severe on these girls.

    47. I will update my post as I get more info, this is partly for myself. Right now, it may seem I'm repeating the same person. But it's not on purpose. :)

What I've found, ACTUALLY ordered. I will add pictures too. I will also update the 'date' of when I've updated things. I hope this helps!

Who makes clothing for them specifically?
      • Chewin (Chewin made me a suit jacket, suit pants, jeans, belt, suit shirt, and a vest)
        • He has a website that "sometimes" has items in stock. Usually arrives in about 3-4 weeks.
        • It's JUST as easy to order OOAK from him, and is the same price. If you see it on his site and it is out of stock, just email him/send a message through the site. It takes about 2 months TOPS.
Who makes wigs for them specifically?
      • Chewin - He does hard caps in both mohair AND in Saran.
Who makes shoes for them specifically that don't look like 'child doll shoes?
      • Chewin
        • I've ordered shoes for him in just a plain black for him and for my DollChic David (yes, very hard to distinguish names!). The sizing was so subtly different, but VERY well done. They were a TIGHT fit, but Dollshe has large feet and with a small piece of fabric/satin/silk it was an easy slide in.

What I have found as well that may help you:

I have a comparison photo of DollShe David, DollChic David, and a Tonner male standing side by side. But I wasn't sure if I could post it on the forum. :/
      • When I order from someone who makes DollChic (not dollshe) David, I ordered pants that fit DollChic david, as they fit both and WELL. It may be rare that you have both, but heck, having THIS doll is rare.
      • He does not fit in Tonner brand 'shoes'
      • He did not fit in a button up shirt made from a standard Tonner male (not the athletic body) pattern. It did fit unbuttoned to show his abs though ;)
      • He can wear DollChic David's shirts, but again, must be unbuttoned, but in THIS case, it's because they are too large. DollChic's David is larger in the chest and longer arms.
      • Hardcap wigs that fit DollChic David, fit DollShe David. DollChic's head is slightly bigger.

    48. Unfortunately, while this THRILLS me, I hate that things are SO darn slow with DollShe. It's like an announcement comes and it's a year later that we get things. And they sell out quick likely because of this long wait. I've sent a msg to this guy to see if he does ooak, just in case. :)

But at least at some point they may get a site full of things...maybe.

    49. Chewin's stuff is lovely and very well made. It's also very fashion forward. Chewin's dolls look like beautifully dressed and coiffed gay guys. Straight guys would be unlikely to wear his stuff. Please don't take this amiss, it's just an observation.

Sherry Fang on Ebay makes shoes that should fit. They are a tad large on my Tonner Athletic Male, but she's got shoes in a couple of colors and they are very nice quality.

Sherry shoes for Tonner Dolls ATHLETIC SUPERHERO BODY doll Black 7BJS3

      or

Sherry shoes for Tonner Dolls ATHLETIC SUPERHERO BODY doll Brown 7BJS4

The above are a real caramel color, very nice if you're tired of black.

Also, I keep hoping to run into a 44cm Dollshe boy or a DollChic boy, and then I could tell you for sure whether my Athletic Man size fits, but no one I know seems to have these dolls. I did a loungewear outfit on spec as a gift for someone who had the Kinsman Garrick or the other one, forgot the name, and I know my Athletic size fits those dolls. I can't seem to get close enough to one of these dolls to know for sure!

    50. I highly discourage people from buying anything from Sherry Fang on ebay. She has been known to counterfeit products VERY often. She goes to the factory where someone has their items made and has similar ones made, with the exact same products.

A very good friend of mine has been fighting for quite a while to have some things pulled, after she designed some things, even MET and dined with Sherry Fang, and later found out Sherry used the same factory - had them take the items she had made for her, and just added a jewel or something. They aren't just similar.

      It's really really sad.

As for the first comment about Chewin's stuff - I had to laugh. No offense taken. I also think it's how he paints his dolls though. My guys are super manly and the stuff looks a bit different. Then again, I did also design some of it. He does have some regular stuff, liek suits, but they are a more contemporary cut (i.e. slim cut). His jeans for instance, I think are quite manly, I don't think I'd find them on my gay friends. but your comment was very true.

But as always, it's partly the face ups, I think. Though - a see- through shirt ... yeah, that may just be a see-through shirt ;)

    51.
    52. Oh Gosh, how could you?

Only way to let people know is to just pass along the info.

Sadly, she is one of the cheap routes for shoes, etc. for a lot of fashion sized dolls, etc. I'm currently selling off all my stuff I got from her. She is also someone who makes shows for some big fashion doll manufacturers, it's sad.

I don't understand how people can do what she does. We've asked her to take things down, she only does it when ebay makes her. She apologizes and says she never wants to steal people's work, but then the same items get posted again a few weeks later. :(

Anyways, these guys are hard to shop for!

    53. Has anyone tried stuff for Fairyland's A-line boys and girls on Dollshe's fun size dolls? I'll admit to not scrutinizing the measurements, I don't own a fun size Dollshe (yet) so I have zero experience in this matter. I'm just going off of how they're similar in height to the FL A-line dolls.

    54. The Dollshe boys are a fair bit taller and broader than the Minifees. Here is mine with a Chicline, which has a very similar body size to a MNF, just with a smaller head (making the overall height measurement misleading). As you can see, quite a size difference. I have managed to get the same boxers on both, but it was a stretch on the Dollshe. So, I suppose stretchy stuff where length doesn't matter might work, otherwise it's a nope.

    55. Oh my gosh, I've never even heard of Tonner dolls before this thread. I'm screaming internally at their Firefly collection right now >_>

Seeing as how these Tonner dolls that have been compared to in the thread are even more rare (?) than the new Dollshe minis, I guess that adds to the conundrum of dressing the Dollshe fun size guys huh? :O

    56. Sno4wy - not sure what you mean, Tonner dolls are not rare. :/

    57. Sorry to be unclear, I meant in terms of searching "Tonner doll clothes" versus something like, say, "minifee doll clothes".

    58. OHhhhhhhhhh yeah, For some reason Tonner men's clothes - I find them a lot on discussion boards. But I don't see them on ebay, etc. for instance.

They sometimes put them under the NAME of the dolls, like "Rufus Tonner" or "Tonner Gale" - it's a bit complicated.

Richie - where did you get those lovely wigs?

    59. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if it's worthwhile for me to dedicate making from scratch clothes explicitly for the Dollshe fun size, or if there's enough similar sized things out there that I could just stick with alterations. Alterations in general tend to be a lot less work than making from scratch. >_>
