DollShe craft 28M and 26F Fashion Pose 44/41 cm size - Part 2

Dec 19, 2015

    1. I tried some blood/fantasy faceup on the Fashion Grant since the realistic ones are just impossible to make in this scale, at least for me whose 3rd faceup attempt this was.

His forehead really challenged my eyebrow skills once again. It's just impossible to paint them elsewhere than the brow bone suggests. That little Neanderthal-foreheaded creep.

Instagram post by Prince Helena โ€ข Jun 22, 2017 at 10:45am UTC

I love him, but for reasons like shoes being double the size of his head he will for now have to go with artsy photoshoots with his spare head instead of another of his kind...

    2. I think they both look great! I'm way too intimidated by their tiny faces to try and do my own faceups o_o

    3. Haha thanks! When you've never had anything bigger to get used to, this size doesn't feel like a challenge :) It might be that I'll have trouble adjusting my techniques after I order something from the 70 cm scale. At least this one is easy when it comes to eyebrow symmetry...

You can always try some watercolour pencil faceups on sealed doll and wipe it off with water and q-tips if the result is not what you hoped for. You never know unless you try ;)

    4. @MadamMauMau yes, at least that's the gist that I am getting from the discussion over there. Some people feel that a few of the heads come off pinheaded and would like the regular heads on a smaller body which if they keep the scale the same as between HID and EID would be about 45cm. I personally like the look of the Iple fashion muscular body over the 28M but I can't pinpoint why.

@vauhtikatti you did a great job on his faceup. Are those little earrings on the sleep head?

    5. Eh, I don't think it will work. Have a look at some of @ATYL's incredibly useful comparison shots. The FID head is WAY too big to go on a 45cm body, like the Fashion 28Ms. The whole thing would need reducing, head and all.

And, having both an EID (which the FIDs are roughly like, even though they are rather more HID) and a 28M, I can say I much prefer the 28M. The EID/HID silhouette is rather more harmonious and overall more proportionate. However, Iple engineering is dire. They pose like house bricks. Also, I love the knobbly realism of the 28M bodies. Iples are too smooth and stylised for my tastes. But, all a matter of taste. It would be interesting if Iple did bring out something in the 45-46cm range. Even with those awful hard chest cuts, I might be seriously tempted.

    6. My understanding is that many (including myself) at FID discussion thread want to see 'slimmer' version of the FID body, not necessarily 'shorter' one. That said, I imagine it couldn't be any more than 1~2cm from the current FID body for the matter of proportions; so around 48cm maybe.

I like all FID, Arsene, 28M bodies, and Khan's, which sadly, not many seem to find to their taste. :sweat Now I'm waiting for the latter two. No shortage of expectations for the remaining half of this year. :)

    7. Has anyone found any information regarding the new body pose plus body for Monica Bellucci 26F fashion? Was wondering about the look of the body and bust size. Also it gives you two options 1) the pose and 2) pose plus, is the pose body the same body that is available now?
      Thanks for any information :)

    8. I was hoping that FL would revamp their Chicline bodies now that there are more fashion options since the posing with them is so great and they tend to go for a more slender silhouette but I would like them to be bigger, I can't even imagine one next to an FID XD but I have always wanted a Rin and hope s that I could pair the 18M with one but that's not going to work either.

@eldarling :sweat I confess that I wasn't paying too much attention to the details over there since it seemed like it was getting a little heated.

@Dove that's a good question. I forgot all about that body. They're extending the sale and he writes that he has prepared lots of events for the 15th anniversary, maybe it will be a part of that....even though the year is half over.

    9. As far as I can tell Monica Belluci will be on a new revamped 26F body which is still in development. So the pose vs pose plus options remain a mystery but I am guessing articulation points more similar to the Mystic body than to theL1 vs L4 men's body but in a female obviously.

    10. Yep I think I'll love it too~ Would have just liked to get the slightly darker mango honey in a perfect world, but I've seen some gorgeous copper oriental owner photos recently and I plan to be happy with it :)

    11. I do find it a little strange that there is even a pre-order for her given that people can't even see the body or a mock up of it, but i guess people must be confident of being pleased with it and i understand this is Mr Dollshes way of doing things.

Thank you for that information, i am going to take a look at the mens mystic body. If that is the case maybe the new pose plus female body would also have a waist or extra hip joint and bust sizes, i really would hope for at least two to choose from or an option for them.

    12. Dollshe usually gives 3 breast sizes on female dolls: petite, full and glamor (or as I would put it: big, huge, and giant). Diana only has 2 but she is supposed to be a pubescent girl.

    13. Wonderful! I can see Monica in the very large bust but prefer a smaller option... and easier to dress lol

    14. Per my communication with Dollshe, the Monica head will be compatible to the current 26F Body.

    15. Just got a notice that my Grant and Ausley have shipped! :danceBarely two months...that's not bad!

    16. Oh that's encouraging! I'm a few days shy of 2 months since I put in my Grant order. Maybe I should start wig hunting again.

    17. Okay...so I got the shipping notice for my Arsene that I won! Now I need...stuff for him...anything! Wig: what size is he? I can possibly make him a hard cap wig...but would prefer other...as I kinda suck at parting lines. Eyes: size? I have some 6mms...is that too small? Does he need 8 or 10? Clothes: I hear tonner boys clothes mostly fit...but I don't know how to search for them. I can make him something or scale down some MSD stuff if needed. Shoes: I've heard tell of a couple ebay sellers that gave some nice ones...but I don't like clunky and over sized looking. He can go barefoot a while if needed. And most important: what faceup artists are fast and willing to paint a doll as small as him? I don't like leaving my dolls blank that long...with one exception, and that's deliberate.

    18. Now that is awesome news!

@Dove some people have complete faith in the company to buy sight unseen. So far everything I have seen from him has been beautiful but I just can't do it. I know he will deliver in terms of quality but the length of time it will take from order to shipping is too unpredictable for me when you don't have any idea of how far along he is on the sculpt.

@Teseya wow, this is a really good day of Dollshe shipping. Congrats! I have seen Xhanthi work on this size if you're in the US.

    19. Thats really good to know, i just wish you could purchase only her head!

I hear you! I am quite confident in his sculpting abilities, his bodies are beautiful but the wait times are a killer. Anyway i have a decision to make on which body to go with, esthetics or mobility.

    20. @Dove found this from back in March, doesn't seem like the best news for Monica:

    21. No not good news it seems but i did notice that out of the 99 units there are only 28 left, so definitely more than the 30 that he needed. Of course it means that the production has been slowed down which = a long wait time :(

    22. Thank you! They are earrings, but I used some 3d 'pearl pen' paint/paste to make them, so they are easily removable. I had no guts to drill him since I wasn't sure whether piercings and earrings bring out his personality in the right way.

    23. I received my 28M Rey Lewis last week and can't wait to start working with him. I had Dollshe do the face up and it is ok, but I want to get his eyes in and see what happens to his look when they are in. I have wigs and clothes on order so he will hang out for a while in the buff.

    24. Congrats! I've never seen a Dollshe faceup before I don't think. You'll have to give us a review when he's all together.

    25. Would love to see him and his look plus his Dollshe faceup :)

    26. Where did you order clothes and wigs from? I've been looking for a place to get some clothes for my 28M David Kuncci.

    27. Has anyone ordered Order Made Fashion dolls? I ordered Natalie and just asked about the schedule for her. This is what Dollshe answered to me today:

I would be pleased if this schedule could be true, but I won't hold my breath. Natalie should also have another head, Sad look face, and it seems to me that it isn't ready or even in production yet. Also she's supposed to have a gun and the same goes with that too. I'm beginning to fear that this will turn into another one year club for me. It has already been almost half a year since I orderer Natalie. :XD:

    28. When I had mine I found that Luts Model Delf clothes fit. if you ask Nine9Style what they have in stock that will fit them they usually have a few pieces that might be out of stock on the Luts site.

    29. SartoriaJ on Etsy also make clothes specifically for the Fashion 28Ms.

    30. I ordered a few key pieces from SartoriaJ - I'm most excited about the leather pants, they look really nice.

    31. I am on my way now to check them out. Thanks

I ordered mine from Chewin in the Philippines. He does great work, has a ton of orders so it takes a while, but his work product is the best . doll fashion for doll bjd Iplehouse

    33. Wrote to Dollshe about the expected delivery for my two boys ordered in October....got the brush off again....
First I was told December, then February, then April, then June. Now July but they said my second boy would be sometime after that.
The last two emails said they had "just" finished the molds.
      Still trying to stay positive.

    34. According to tracking, my dolls took two days to get through customs *_* But, it says the package went to the sorting center a half hour away from me at 2AM this morning...I really hope I wake up to a big ol' box on my porch... :eusa_pray

    36. Hello all! Ive been reading this forum for a while and decided to make my first bjd doll an Amanda Beauty Fashion in pale tan! Thank you all for posting and sharing,it made it much easier to decide on her. I figured out the shipping process but would like to know if anyone was aware of a wig maker that created afros and braids, etc?

    37. Update!

My Grant and Ausley got here just now! They are GORGEOUS! The company photos don't even begin to do the sculpting justice:drool

My only issue thus far is that I was under the impression that the Ausley Love fullsets came with an SA/sleeping head...and I am sans one sleeping head for her. Which is a major bummer because I was going to use the SA's to make their hardcap wigs while they're away getting faces done, and in the future to avoid me damaging said faceups. I ordered through a dealer, so I've contacted them.

Pictures coming when I dig out the seemingly 4,000+ pairs of eyes I seem to have misplaced in the last two months :sweat

EDIT: Does anyone know how to swap busts on the female dolls? Ausley came strung with the smallest bust, and I want to see how the next size up suits her (definitely not the XL version, though...).

    38. @JennyGrrl That's a shame. Nothing worse than that Dollshe two months statement. Sometimes I wish they would just reply with an I don't know because at least that's the truth.

@HeyJude when I changed my girls bust I took off one of her hands and went from there. It was pretty quick and easy since Dollshe doesn't seem to string really tight.

    39. A new discussion thread: part 3 !

      :)
