It was a real struggle to take photo's today because of my two boys beeing enthousiastic too and trying to be in every photo i took .
The youngest one is 16 months and even decided she was so cute he had to lick her (i guess he tried to give her a kiss) and when we started to laugh he decided to do it again.

So no great pictures Just this plain introduction.

i got the pierrot dress and some blue eyes as an extra, her default wig was soft sobazu wig in brown (which is way to big and the hairs are static and really flyaway, so impossible to style)
luckily the wig i ordered for her is a lot smaller (still big but okay enough)
she had a terrible time standing up straight from the box which made taking pictures even harder, so i took her apart (easy) and strung her again (also easy) and then she could stand more easily which is strange because all i did was rearanging the knot in the leg strings a little bit differently.......????

as for the disney animators doll compatibility i have this hide and seek picture.


she even fits the shoes (and i thought i read somewhere she couldn't wear them)

and her name is: Ninon.

 

She is wonderful and beauteous. I am so jealous that you have yours. Hopefully, mine will be here in three or four weeks.

 

She is adorable! Now I think I want one! Thanks for the comparison with the Disney kids. Her head doesn't look so huge next to theirs!

 

Iris contacted Dollmore and they told her that they would be shipping my Moka last friday, so she should get to MD some time this week. That means that she should be here in AZ sometime next week. I am so excited.

 

Podkayne Mokashura arrived at Iris' (Fabric Friends and Doll) She will be flying to Arizona tomorrow so perhaps the end of the week, for sure next week. I am so excited.

 

I have totally fallen in love with these dolls! I've enjoyed everyone's photos!

She arrived today. I am in love. I didn't realize she would come in such cute Jammies. The wig she came with is a bit loose. I have a wig cap somewhere that I will try on her later. She will be traveling with me this summer. First to Tom's River in June and then to UFDC and the Austin BJDC in July/August. I hope this picture of her is ok. [/

why do they have to match? how many of your friends have the same skin tone that you do? Why don't you ask around and see if any one has a baby skin Moka and a normal resin doll and ask them to do a comparison shot? or for that matter do you have another BJD to compare her to?

 

I have decided that Podkayne needs different eyes. Does she really need 28mm eyes? If you have gotten your Moka different eyes, where did you get them? Thanks,

 

28mm to me feels too big, I thought my Ko Hyoo looked a bit ill wearing them. Now she has 26mm eyes for Reborn, I got them from Ebay.

That is good to know. The smaller eyes make her look a tad bit older.

 

Ninon has beautifull new 26mm eyes by Kanis augen in germany only trouble is they leave big gaps near the side. if i order from them again i'd probably go for a more custom option of 28mm eyes and 26 mm size irises and pupils i think that would work out better or maybe i should bevel her eyesockets a little to make it fit because they aren't actually to smal they just don't sit right.

I found the fit of 26mm better than 28mm, but still doesn't seem to fit 100% perfectly, her eyewells are a little bit awkward. But certainly better than 28mm which are too big to sit fully in the eyewell.

 

So i just measured the eyes just to make sure i was right, because the eye on her left had bigger gaps than the eye on her right. Since the eyes i have are handblown i measured them first and they both are 25,6 mm so that couldn't be it. When i looked into her eyesockets i saw no big difference but when i started to go around with my fingers i felt that one of the two eyewells was deeper on the bottom side so deepening that should make up for the bigger gap on her left eye. The 26mm size seems to be okay for the eyewell.

The kanis augen are really great, they have great dept (the pupil is floating in the eye instead of beeing one with the iris) i also like that they have different colors in the iris so mine are blue with a brown rim around the pupil ( what they call the iris muscle eyes) they are sturdy but do feel very fragile. I have more eyes by them and the superior topaz eyes are always the ones i get asked about. I do find that their eyes are darker than shown on the photos on their site.

on the dutch forum bjd cafe someone came up with an idea to all make the same pattern of hat and embellish it in different ways to see what people would do with it and i made my hat for Ninon. (and it seems i am the only one that has actually made something, lol)
It took me a lot of hours and there are 12 roses and almost 200 leaves on the hat (lost count at 186 embroidered but have 10 left over leaves and embroidered more on the spot to make the colors not overlap to much didn't want patches of the same color)
now i am making a matching dress, but i just wanted to share and bump the thread a little.

Wow. Your girls are amazing! I adore the pictures everyone has posted. But I have a question, does anyone own one of the boys? I'm curious to see what one of them would look like. I just ordered a Duyou a couple of weeks ago on a boy body and the wait for him is killing me.

 

This is really interesting! Thanks for posting this pic. I've always wondered how other heads would look on the Mokashura body. I wonder how Spritdoll's Dolce heads would look? I believe they're 11-12".
Does anyone here with a Mokashura happen to have larger heads to try on the body?

 

I just got my Mokashura boy in today!


He's a Duyou on a boy's body. I had to email Dollmore about getting her head on a boy's body and they said yes!
I also got this outfit for free! Because I had to wait a little over 2 months to get him. I just emailed them about when he was going to be delivered and got free stuff for the wait. I wasn't expecting it but I'm not complaining it was the outfit that I wanted on the site. Now he just needs a name and a face up!

Hi, I'm curious if anybody knows of any comparison pictures between the Mokashura doll and other Baby Doll types. I'm planning to one day get a Baby Doll but currently I'm searching for a sculpt I like. I like the ones from MYOU a lot, but I'm also curious about the ones from Dollmore.

And do Mokashura dolls have genders? I usually do prefer my dolls not to be genderless!

 

Mokashura dolls do have genders. They also have very large heads! Myou bodies also have genders and have more normal sized heads.

 

My KoHyoo girl didn't have any girl parts, however the boys have a little not very detailed 'boy part.

Mokashura's are almost identical in proportions to Animator dolls, so it might be easier to find comparisons between Animator and BJD than Mokashura and other BJD.

Mokashura are really on quite a different scale to other Baby BJD though. Not really 'compatible' which is why I think Dollmore released the second line.

Second line? Do you mean a second line of Mokashura dolls?! I have not ordered from Dollmore for quite a while so I'm unsure what you mean with a second line.

Oh, that's really cool! I was aware there was a line called Illua but I never looked into it much. I'm realy tempted to get one now but at the moment there's a lot I need to get done around the house. And my current doll fund have to be spent on my IH SID F, Oscar. If only money could grow on trees...

 

I'm a new owner of the Mokashura line. Have liked them since they first came out but was never able to get one due to something always coming up (that seems to be the story of life!). Anyway, I actually found mine from ebay before Christmas and I actually had money so thought I would get myself a present She had the BIGGEST eyeballs I have ever seen in a doll Luckily, I had some smaller ones that I like better.

Thank you and yes she is adorable! I am finding myself liking the big baby dolls A LOT! I have an MYou BB Matcha that I absolutely love and there are 3 more of that line that I'm working on getting. Its funny how tastes change over the years. For the past 4-5 years I haven't wanted anything to do with MSD sized dolls (not even the ones that I already owned) and was far more into SD and tiny size. But then the BB dolls started rolling out and I saw a Mokashura in person while I was attending a bjd con in TX a few years ago and was smitten by her. Still not caring for more "regular" MSD lines but the BB really make me happy.

 

I love Mokashura dolls. T_T I once humored the idea of getting one, but eventually decided not to. But now I went back to Dollmore's website, and I darn it, I want one. I can't resist the cuteness! I really like their size and big eyes. The only problem is: I can't choose. x_x
I know I want Duyou, but I don't know if I should go for the regular one or Kurios Black. Luckily I'm in no hurry to get one and I have to save some money, so I have time to think. : >

@Saapas I can highly recommend Duyou Kurios Black She is so adorable, I love my girl so much! Her smooth white skin, gothic faceup and her precious detailed outfit is pure love

 

@Sadomina Dollmore resin is so smooth, I love it! I've been stalking your photos of Kurios Black, I can't find other owner pictures. Do you have more photos of her somewhere? OwO I've also noticed that whenever I get interested in a doll and google owner pictures of it, your dolls always come up. I guess our taste in dolls is pretty similar. 8D

@Sadomina Oh, twins! I definitely want to see some pictures of them together. ^w^ I love Kurios Black's expression, it's so adorable. I already bought a Disney Animator dress from Etsy, so I guess the need for a Mokashura doll is getting real. 8D

And yes, I love my Tara! I also have Ringdoll's Xi and Miracle Doll's Baiye, but I've been lazy and haven't posted box opening pictures of them yet. I'm also waiting for Charm Doll's Back Ghost Jonasson.
Dollmore's face ups are amazing, I was sure Tara's face up wouldn't look as great as in the promo pictures, but boy was I wrong. That's why I have no doubts their Mokashura face ups look amazing in person as well.
And since you offered, I'm interested in seeing pictures of Kurios' outfit. : 3 All the separate pieces of it, since there seem to be quite many.

Also, does someone happen to know wigs and eyes that fit Mokashura's really well (other companies than Dollmore)?

 

@Saapas Sorry for my late answer, this week was so busy so I couldn't take those pictures for you. I have undressed her today now and can show you detailed pictures of her outfit set now: Rosalia (scroll a little down).

It's a really precious set, very detailed and many parts. The mail dress has got several layers, as well her underskirt (with stiff petticoat in one layer to hold the shape). All pieces: pair of long socks, shoes, satin long pants, underskirt, main dress, neck decoration and hair accessory.

 

@Sadomina Great, thank you so much for the pictures! ^u^ The fullset seems to be well worth the price, the outfit alone is so detailed and gorgeous. Have you had any trouble with staining since the outfit is black? Or do you not keep it on for long?

 

@Saapas No staining at all - I have her wearing the outfit since 1 1/2 year now and couldn't find any staining when I undressed her last weekend for the pictures. Really high quality

 

@Sadomina Awesome! I personally like dressing a doll and just leaving it like that (unless I want to change their outfit, which doesn't happen often), so that's great news to me. I feel myself loving Dollmore even more and more. =w= The quality of their wigs, clothing, resin, face ups... So good.

Just an FYI - the clothes from Walmarts "My Life" 18" dolls are not a bad fit for the Mokashura girls. Here's one of my Duyou's modeling an outfit

The pants are a very good fit over her chubby hips and butt and the length is great, the top is a little bit but not horrible. The white "scarf" she is wearing is actually a headband that came with the outfit (and it does fit) however since she already has ribbons in her hair we found a different use for it. I also tried one of their nightgowns and it looks very cute as well. Not bad for $10

 

Mu Shu: What a cute outfit and price. I bought a Dollmore Mokashura outfit for my Xagadoll BB-Ida. It was an OK fit...a bit big. Maybe I'll try one of My Life's sometime.

BTW, I think the newest Mokashura Weep Vassilisa Duyou is gorgeous!

I still ache to get one, saving up enough money is going to take a long time. I'll just have to admire pictures of other people's mokashuras in the meantime.
