Whats everyone's thoughts on the new mould, Mint?

I can't quite make up my mind. I think the face up on the girl model is a little distracting, hard to see the mould. But from the boy model it looks cute. I'd really like to see them with an amateur face up!

 

When I first saw these dolls I was absolutely freaking out, I though they were beyond creepy. I hope you don't mind me saying that. After looking more into them and seeing all of your lovely boys and girls here I'm really warming up to them and I don't ban the thought of ever owning one myself. I'm not too fond of the huge eyes and the odd wrist and ankle joints though.

Might I request some more picture spam :3 I'd really love to see more of them.

 

I really like Mint and I am so glad to see that Dollmore is making more choices available in this size. I really hope to buy Lucid though. I love his grumpy face.
I really wish there were more owner pictures of all of the Mokashura dolls made so far, I've been searching with no luck.

I can't believe you've had her a whole year! That means I've been considering her and not buying her for that long.. Though I have been hoping for a Gu Mijeong head sculpt I might just go for Duyou, it is an adorable sculpt after all!

 

Well I blame the two Kitties for this but I've ordered my Ko Hyoo

So hard to decide between her and Duyou, especially as I couldn't find any owner pics of Ko Hyoo but her adorable nose made her the winner!

I asked dollmore and they said there's no plans for a gu mijeong mokashura head as they are working on new lines.

Kohyoo arrived! Wait of about 6 weeks, but felt much shorter because I get a lot of time off over Christmas XD

Just washed the head to prep for face up, can't wait to share pics she is adorable. I realised that she reminds me of volks tanpopo but not sure why as they are not similar. I think it may be the smiley expression.

Dollmore were really generous with gifts, they included the wig and eyes i requested as well as a free synthetic mohair wig, some tights and a skirt and the calendar too. I also forgot how much I like the dollmore standard resin, nice and toothy so she should be easy to blush

yes me to i am considering buying her but since i couldn't find owner pictures i am still hesitating there is something about her nosebridge that makes me doubt so i hope your pictures can win me over

 

Spent hours on this face up (which is actually pretty good compared to my usual standard...) and then I used too much sealant and made her shiny. It doesn't show up in pics but in real life she looks like she's sick ;_;

The wig is too big for her, its all baggy at the back. I have to put her ears inside! It was the Lusion risio wig. I'll be making her wig instead though so not big loss. I wondered if she would fit Blythe wigs but they are much too small.

I also tried 24mm eyes and they have visible gaps unfortunately. She needs 26mm. Her eyeholes themselves are slightly different shapes so getting her eyes straight is challenging!

The Disney Animators Collection size outfits I have are a touch short in the torso but otherwise a good fit

 

oh wow, she is really cute and now i am seriously considering buying her instead of that affordable but slightly to expensive after customs grail doll........ Sorry to hear about the shiny sealer but i am sure you can do a new pretty face up on her (and post more pictures of that one, muhaha ...)

i did it, boing boing boing, so excited, i ordered my own Ko Hyoo. With face up since i love the one one the site so much. It's been a while since i last waited for a doll for a longer, time most of my dolls were instant gratification. Infact now i think of it only my first two dolls took waiting time (and the last of those two was almost 13 years ago zoinks), oh boy this is going to be hard on me i guess.........

 

Yay! You've made a very good choice, KoHyoo is ridiculously cute in real life. Cuter than the pictures on dollmore.

I still haven't fixed my girl's face up but I did make her a new wig. I was going to make it into a bob but might keep it long

wow you did a wonderfull job, it looks so natural. I do like it in this length but a bob would be sweet too.

(and don't tell anyone but i let my grail doll slip to get Ko Hyoo instead fully knowing i won't be able to get another doll anytime soon or maybe even ever, that's how cute i thought she was, but your girl surely won me over.)

 

Haha I'm similar, I had an only tinies rule that giant Kohyoo broke!

I redid her face up and realised the Dollmore eyes really weren't working for her. She just has some done with black nail varnish until I can fix her some better ones. Glass eyes this size are like $35+ @_@

Someone mentioned that this looked like a Chami sculpt, is this the one that turned out to be Mokashura Girl Mint?

 

That's what I wondered too but I really liked the clay sculpt and didn't like Mint, and I don't think they are that similar? I feel like Mint doesn't have a very defined sculpt compared to that clay work (and also compared to the other Mokashura who have a lot of fine detail to the faces)

Ps: the person who compared her to Chami was me! Love the Chami sculpt despite it being nothing like my usual taste

I ordered Mokashura Girl - Ko Hyoo (Normal) from Iris at Fabric Friends and Dolls about two weeks ago and Iris thinks she will be here in six more weeks. It won't hurt my feelings if she shows up early. I ordered some clothes from Dollmore on Ebay and some from Iris. I picked up a Disney Animators doll so I could start knitting and crocheting for her. When she gets here she will join her sister Elf Dahlia, Iris.

 

Congrats! I just got some new animator outfits for my girl and they are really close in fit. There's a skirt which will need taking in a touch though, I think animator might have a plumper belly.

babytarragon I love your girls faceup. I have a question for everyone. Where do you get your wigs? I have no idea what wig my Mokashura will get. Also, when you get an unlimited Mokashura, is she naked or does she come in a simple outfit?

 

Mine came in undies and I got free tights but they were camo print!

The wig I bought from Dollmore was too big, I think it was meant for lusion/trinity.

So I ordered one from taobao meant for the giant spirit dolls but yet to see how it fits.

I've been making wigs too which I think will be the best way, it's such an awkward size.

 

I love camo prints. I was in the Army for 20 years and wore camo when we switched from green fatigues. I will be interested to see the wig from taobao when you get it.

 

I'm just not sure what to coordinate camo tights with. More camo?? I'm lost!

 

I would think any solid color or actually anything at all. If anyone says anything about how she is dressed, you can say she dressed herself. BTW, I have ShinyDoll Yakki. I adore her. Her Thassa body is so delicate and beautiful.


Everyone needs to go to the Dollmore website and request that they make wigs that fit Mokashura.

I get the feeling Dollmore is a bit lax on sizing, especially when you look at the shoes their idea of 'fitting' is not my idea of 'fitting.' They probably don't see an issue with the fit of the lusion wigs on mokashura.

I've been looking at Monique also but they are very expensive for what doesn't look like particularly fantastic quality. It's a risk to shell out $25 or more for a wig that could be unusable due to the quality. Their smaller bjd wigs ate often nice but the photos of the larger sized wigs are a mess of flyaways! Or the nicer ones are reborn so are half cap; no good at all for my KoHyoo's long head!

 

I am going to the UFDC National Convention in DC this summer and plan on bringing Mokashura with me. I hope to find some wigs for here there. I have quite a few large Monique Gold wigs and they are lovely. I do wish that Mokashura's head was just a tad smaller, Then she could wear American Girl wigs.

 

This might not work at all, but has anyone got an SD sized head (9-10 inch wig size, not mature style SD) they could pop on the Mokashura body? I am really intrigued by this size, but the heads are just slight too big for my taste.

 

my girl is not in yet but i do have an old volks sd sister and a Syo head i could try on if you are patient.

more than 7 weeks have passed since ordering, so i am hopeing she will be shipped soon. Because eyeing my dollmore account every day to see if the status has changed is getting old, i need something new to do. Like checking the pages of the shipping company or my bankaccount to see if i have money for the customs fees that will hit me .

I'm afraid it won't work at all, The Mokashura neck/body is really huge!

I thought about trying a Dana Koo head (11inch head) before my Mokashura arrived and it was much too small as well.

 

Ah ok, I was hopeful because the neck is listed as 10cm, and SD13 girl neck is 9.5cm with SD13 boy being 10.5cm, and as most volks heads can go on either body without looking totally bizarre it seemed like it might be possible. I'll wait to see your verdict with the volks heads @allanieew , but thank you for your input @babytarragon

 

Measured the neck and I'm getting closer to 11.5cm.

Tried to get a pic of a 9inch head but the Mokashura has a neck piece that got in the way so I'm holding the head slightly in front here. So perspective looks off.

Obviously this is only a 9inch head not 10inch but still feel like it's very strange, kinda pinheaded.

Have you seen Baby Delf? Bambicrony 1/3 heads look amazing on them so maybe volks could too?

This is the wig I found on Taobao, marked as 1/2 scale for Spirit Doll and Angel of Dream. Completely perfect fit (much better than the Dollmore wig...)

 

She is wonderful. I hope my Moka is as cute as your's.


Tomorrow will be six weeks since I requested Iris at Fabric, Friends and Dolls order my KoHyoo Mokashura. Hopefully she will be here by the middle of April or at least the end of April. I will be knitting and crocheting for her and even thought I bought two Disney Animator Dolls, I am not confident enough of the similarity in their size to use them as a stand in for her. The one item I can't make for her is pajamas or a nighty. Touch wood she will be here soonest.

 

I ordered mine a little over 9 weeks ago and still no news i am getting really antsy because i want her here so badly, but then again i ordered her with face up so she could actually take a while longer. I didn't even dare to order glass eyes since i am not sure what size looks best on her, i know she comes with 28mm but i usually set in smaller eyes.

I found 28mm too big for kohyoo. She looked a bit spaced out.

I just thought of a name for my Mokashura, Podkayne. One of my favorite books growing up was a book by Robert Heinlein, Podkayne of Mars. It is the story about a girl on Mars.
