Dollmore Kid discussion part 3

Aug 18, 2011

    1. Heh, yes. Right now I'm leaning towards red and white or black and white. :thumbup

Thank you! :daisy Oh, hightops would be cool, too. I considered those or Vans at first but when I found these Nike-esque ones I couldn't resist.

And I like your suggestion RE: multiple pairs! Hmm... :XD:

    2. Thank you so much ^u^

      Thank you!
Hmm, maybe it's just my phone camera's joke? There's some filters)
      here's real colours)

      oh! He's wonderful *o*

    3. @Ayame-sama - Ah, it must have been the filters. These are the colors I see on Dollmore's site. Either way, I like him a lot. I wish Pado had been available when I bought a Dollpire. I would have chosen him instead of Shiloh.

    4. Wow ! You're Dollpire Pado is gorgeous ! The outfit seems so delicate !

    5. Made a necklace for Owen over the weekend. Found the beads in the puka shell section of my local craft store, which probably explains some of the unevenness. I like it that way, though. ;)

    7. She's lovely!

    8. Congrats @Mellu - I love her look!

    9. Hi Iseul! :daisy Her dress is beautiful---I love how the color looks against her dark hair.

Owen received his sneakers in the mail---they were tight but I managed to squeeze his feet into them. I also finished crafting his basketball goal, so I thought I'd share a picture of him enjoying his time at the "park" (aka: my driveway, heh).

    11. I'm so tempted by the Ballet Kids - but I'm unsure about the faces, none of them grabbed me right away. I asked through eBay message if it was possible to swap a head but they said no - as expected, but never hurts to ask. So I'm flickr-browsing and trying to decide how I feel about Flocke. (Zina is very pretty but the sparkly eye make-up isn't what I'm looking for.)

    12. You might ask them to omit the green eye shadow on Zina. They won't change things but I have asked them to omit nail polish and they did skip the nail polish.

    13. Good point - I was thinking of that under no changes but I can see why omitting would be different.

I did see (hadn't realised before) that they sell the body separate. So I'm looking at possibilities for heads - they only have a couple separate on eBay but I've seen some nice ones on the DoA marketplace. And then of course there's other companies who might match Dollmore Normal resin...

(I said I wouldn't hybrid, and yet here we are.)

    14. I will have to have a browse around there - my favourite at the moment is Chloe, but obviously it depends on availability. (And saving my pennies!) Thank you for the link.

    15. I prefer to order from the Dollmore site. I fell it it is easier to keep track of the orders and communicate when needed on the Q&A board.

The Chloe head is available under kid heads here Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more

    16. I wasn't planning on getting another slim mini - I was going nope, I already have a mini, she's good on her own thank you very much. But this body is just so interesting! (I have a Made To Move Barbie sitting with my BJDs, it would be nice to have a doll who can pose like that)

I will sign up to the Dollmore site - if you'd like me to put you down as recommender ID, please let me know, I don't know if you get anything for that!

    17. I sent you a message!

    18. I would be tempted to get another ballet kid body. I just wish Dollmore made extra ballet outfits available. It's the same thing with the Judith girls. No clothes other than the full sets; most Kid and MSD clothing doesn't fit on top.

    19. I would love more ballet outfits also! I was thinking of sending them a message!

    20. Ahhh, I had no idea they sold the ballerina body separately...I hope it's still there in a couple years when I have more space for dolls!

    21. I hope they're more receptive to this than they've been to requests for Judith clothing. At least ballet outfits should fit the regular Kid body as well as the ballet body, so DM could sell a few more outfits that way. Every so often I look at my Pirouette and think I could try to make her an outfit. If only I weren't so hopeless at drafting patterns.

I hadn't noticed it for sale, either. I tend to forget about the parts section unless I'm looking for extra hands or feet. The ballet body has been available since 2014, according to the code number. I don't know how big a seller it is, but the price is certainly reasonable.

    22. Been browsing the website obsessively, and Dollmore just sent my 5% new shopper coupon, but... I think I'm going to wait. It would be more sensible to save up a little and wait until next paycheque, plus that gives me time to see if I really want one, or am just excited by seeing something new.

If I'm still this interested by then I will order either the Flocke ballet kid of if she's out of stock, get the ballerina body and either Sona or Chloe head.

(Of course having browsed I want to bring home everyone, but. One day when I win the lottery...)

    23. Good luck with that!:XD:

    24. Yeah, where a few people have pointed out that Dollmore look good with Luts, I've been browsing with intent - there are 2 characters I'm struggling to shell that need to "match" (in the sense of looking good together) and this widens my options.

    25. Ah, can't help you there. My only Luts is a Model Delf. He has a small head and looks out of scale with Dollmore Kids.

    26. Dollmore offers patterns for the Kid size, and tweaking them for the ballerina body shouldn't be too hard. At least, that's my plan.

    27. So, my whole "I'll wait two weeks until next paycheque" fell short... by a whole day. I think I can be forgiven there. I saw a Ballet Kid Flocke on ebay at a very reasonable price from someone who said they were leaving the hobby. So I "won" her at 2am, paid up this morning, and she should be on her way to be some time soon!

(Semi-related - I must be having a good doll day because my shipment of clothes that had gone AWOL has now pinged back on the tracker and is in the country, so there will be pants in the house soon. )

    28. Congrats on your Ballet Kid Flocke!! :daisy

    29. She's here! And she's adorable. Right now she's staying in her tutu until I have clothes that fit, and she'll get a name once I've sorted out her wig (I hadn't realised she's 7-8, not 6-7, so most of my MSD wigs won't quite stretch.)

For now, she's just posing and being tiny and cute.

    30. Congratulations @IndigoAndAsh ! I look forward to seeing pictures!

    31. Congrats on your girl's safe arrival!! Do you have a name picked out for her? :daisy

    32. Congrats on your new arrival! :) I really want to take more photos of my ballet Sona, Aria, but I am still waiting on THE eyes for her. :( There needs to be more varieties of brown out there! >_<

    33. Meet Chloe. Or at least, the parts of her not covered in yarn. She's very demanding.

I've already thrown together a diamond/pearl/ruby necklace for her but it's difficult to photograph well, so I'll try again when there's sunlight. I can tell she's going to be my spoiled doll - I've been hoping for a girly MSD, she already has one shawl, another shawl on needles, a few necklaces planned, yarn put aside for a dress...

    34. I'm curious about fit. I have found that my Dollpire girl will not fit in things made for Mini-Fee, nor can she wear shoes made for them. She can, however, wear Volks MSD shoes quite well, as well as 64mm shoes from juju's on eBay. Is there a measurement chart at all for them? Thanks in advance.

    35. The Dollpire dolls don't all use the same body but Dollmore does identify the body and gives measurements. The ballerina body should wear standard MSD clothes.

    37. Pretty! And thank you very much, Nancy, for the information. I only have one MSD this size, as all of my others are slim-mini.
She is a Ash Pathos Shiloh girl.

    38. She is very nice! She is on a regular Kid MSD body:

Dollpire Kid Girl Size - Ash Pathos : Shiloh

      - Height: 43.5cm
      - Head:18.7cm (7-8" wig)
      - Eyes: 14mm
      - Neck: 7.6cm
      - Bust: 18cm
      - Shoulder : 6.5cm
      - Weist:15.5cm
      - Hip: 18.5cm
      - Foot: 6.0cm

Dollmore has pages and pages of clothes for this size and their slow shipping option is very reasonable. In fact they have 15 pages of MSD clothes here Dollmore.net :: Everything for Doll & more

MSD clothes from other manufacturers should work fine also.

    39. What annoys me is that Dollmore is out of all the good high heel shoes. Why sell high heel feet if you're not going to offer shoes for them? I'm thinking about getting the pink ankle straps because it's that or the white ones, even less desirable. Can anyone suggest another source? The ones I have that are long enough still don't fit right.

    40. I would ask if they are going to add more on the Q&A board. At least they know someone is interested.

    41. A new discussion thread: Part 4 !
